I don't own twilight
Bella got ready for the day her face drained of all color her body protesting every move she made. She wanted to stay in bed but she knew she couldn't. she looked at the gray gloomy sky. It wasn't raining anymore but it was still over cast. She slipped her shoes on and a snuck out of the house not wanting to disturb her parents. Getting into her car she drove down the deserted roads of Forks. Her knuckles were white against the steering wheel she gritted her teeth as she tried to hold the tears that were dangerously close to falling at bay. Every nerve in her body hummed as she made her way to the cemetery. She drove slowly down the gravel roads stopping close to the mound of earth that covered Rose. She got out wrapping her arms around herself she walked slowly towards that spot her sisters final resting place. She sat down and pulled her knees to her chest not caring that the grass was damp not caring that the ran looked like it was going to fall at any second.
"Oh Rose." She sighed. She looked at the mound of dirt and then up at the sky as a droplets of water started to fall on her face. "I guess you're crying with me huh. Oh my sweet girl I miss you." Tears started to fall down her face mixed with the rain. "You should have let me help you. You should have let me carry the baby. I understand that you wanted to do it that you wanted to feel a baby inside you but was it worth your life Rosalie, was it worth leaving me, leaving mom and dad leaving Emmett. Really was it worth it? She turned her face to the sky she wanted to scream and yell about the unfairness of the whole ordeal. She heard the sound of footfalls and turned to see Emmett staring at her. She scrambled to her feet and opened her mouth only to snap it closed again. "I'll just… go." She turned to walk back towards her car. She got to her car her hand on the door handle she bit her lip and turned back towards him. "Emmett…" he turned from where he'd been staring at the fresh grave. "I'm sorry." The words came out quietly carried on the wind. She slipped into her car and pulled away from the grave yard.
Emmett watched the car driving away as he shoved his hands into his pickets and starred down at the final resting place of his beloved wife. A lump clogged his throat as his mind raced and rain poured down on his head. He couldn't believe what he'd heard Bella said. It wasn't the apology that had floored him. He knew that had been coming he knew Bella wasn't a malicious person that she had only been hurt by the loss of her sister and he could understand that. Oh how he could understand that no what he was floored by was the admission she'd made to Rose about how she'd offered to carry a baby. "Oh Rose." He sighed. "Why couldn't you let her do this for you. Why?" He stood up and looked once more towards the grave before heading back to his car.
He slowly made his back to Alice and Jaspers house he parked in front of the house and stared out the windshield through the rain and felt his heart breaking as he thought of his sister inside that house with her husband. Happy and whole. He didn't wish Alice or Jasper ill but he was jealous of what they had. He knew that soon he'd have to get back to his own life back to the house he had shared with Rosalie. Back to his bar. Back to functioning He got out and hurried towards the front door. He let himself in closing the door against the rain.
"Hey I didn't know you left." Alice said coming out of the kitchen.
"Yeah I just had some things to do." Emmett shook his head thinking of Bella again.
"Are you okay?" Alice shook her head. "Of course you're not okay come on I'll make you some breakfast."
"Thanks." He sighed following her into the kitchen. He sat at her breakfast nook as she put food in front of him. "I think it's time for me to go back to the house."
"Are you sure?" He could see the concern mirrored in her eyes.
"Yes. I may end up selling it but it's time to go back. Rose would want me to go back."
"Okay." She sighed patting his hand. "If you need anything just let me or Jasper know."
"I will." He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Thanks for everything."
"Of course." She smiled at him. She hated too see him so broken. As one person decided to try and start healing another tried to let go of the guilt of not being able to get her sister to agree. To not being able to see that her sister had been in such desperate straits.
Bella sat outside her parents' house and laid her head on the steering wheel letting the tears fall more liberally then she allowed at the grave yard. She let the tears fall for everything she'd do without a sister by her side.
