"Do you think they will ask me about Katherine?" Elena asked Caroline as they were going over what would happen after they land.

"Possibly. You two are twins and they will ask you why you took the Pierce name. There can be a lot of possibilities with Silas. Might ask how you found out about the Pierce family, why you want to help him, why the sudden change in your life. All of these he could ask you and more. Depends how much he needs to know about you to trust you." Caroline said as she was organizing the briefcase Elena and Elijah will need with them at all time.

Elena let out a sigh and shook her head at the thought of trying to be like her twin sister. The sister she had to arrest her and her adopted family. Elena was given to her father's brother while her birth mother gave Katherine to an adoption agency. The two girls were raised completely differently and were total opposites even though they are identical twins. The only physical difference between the two was the tattoo Elena had on her left upper thigh where her thigh and and hip meet.

It was bad enough when Elena found out the uncle she hated was her birth father and a woman she never met was her birth mother. Her mother and father just like her birth parents were Law agents. But unlike Elena Katherine was basically raised evil. Pierce a large crime family in New York City but has family all over. Katherine had changed since being arrested unlike the rest of her family. Probably because she was growing close to Elena who was sharing information on what they tracked on their mother's side of the family. Even though their birth mother was an agent didn't mean the rest of her family were saints.

Flemming was Isobel's father's last name, but Petrova was her mother's. Katherine and Elena were cousins to Tatia, Amara and Nadia Petrova of the Petrova crime family. Elena had known this from her first and last "interview" with Tatia. Tatia had not only mocked and tortured Elena with the fact that Tatia had just bedded Elijah, but also shared the fact they are cousins. The worse came when Tatia shared with Elena that it was Silas and his partners that killed Isobel, John and lastly Elena's adopted parents.

Mikael had wanted to pull Elena away from the case because it had became to personal, but with every Law agent was some how personal with the Silas case. So she got to stay on it as long as she stayed partners with Elijah. That was the only condition, which she reluctantly agreed to. She had lost the love of her life, found out who killed her parents, and who her family was in just a few short days. Elena pretended to be strong but as her therapists and her know, she was not.

The plane landed at the airport in Rome, but only Elijah and Elena got off the plane. The rest would land in the next airport and drive into Rome so it would seem Elijah and Elena had come alone to the public eye. Elijah even had his right arm wrapped around her waist as they were walking through the airport to get to their town car. They were playing the part of a couple in love with one another, but once they were in the car they went back to how they usually were. Elena sat far away from him and stared out her window while Elijah put up the divider between the driver and them.

"I texted Alaric to let Ava know we landed safely." Elijah told Elena.

"Thank you. Please tell Alaric to help Ava with FaceTime in three hours" The two weren't worried about being listened in on by the driver since the driver was Kol, the youngest brother of Elijah and a fellow agent. They weren't worried about listening devices because their phones would set off a beep if there was one.

"Got it." He said as he was texting on his phone to Alaric. He looked up to see the growing worry in Elena's eyes. "We will be ok, so will Ava."

"This is Silas who had both sets of my parents murder, we made sure my real family was as corrupted as he is. He is pure evil and have murdered people for giving him a wrong look. Think about what he would do to us if we were caught by him. Everyone in our lives would be at risk of feeling his fury." Elena said what had been on her mind since they found out they were walking into the lion's den.

"He won't be able to touch us if he is behind bars. He will be powerless and all his partners would disappear. We just need to get close enough to find out his plan, stop the plan and arrest him. Then we will be back to our daily lives. Focus on the positive outcome, not the negative." He touched her knee closest to him just to comfort him. A smile crept on his lips when she grabbed onto the hand on her knee and held it.

It was odd that he could still comfort her even though most of the time she wants to punch him in the face. Her face stayed facing the window but she wasn't looking at the city. Instead she was looking at the reflection of her ex husband in the mirror. A smile even curled on her lips for a moment before the smile faded.

The couple were walking into the room when they heard their phones going off. They were about reach for them but stopped when seeing a sandy blonde haired man. Elena found the man very attracted from his face to the way he held himself. He wore a black v neck shirt with a pair of jeans and black leather jacket that was unzipped. His green eyes were looking straight at Elena.

"Ms. Pierce, hello. I am Silas." The man introduced himself to Elena. She walked over to him and was about to shake the hand he held out, but instead he lifted it up to his mouth and kissed the back of it. "You really do look just like Katherine. A true beauty."

The brunette agent's body betrayed her when her cheeks turned rose red. Elijah noticed it and his jaw clenched. He was able to disable the alarm on their phones while Elena and Silas were in a locked stare.

"Thank you Mr. Silas. This is my husband Elijah Smith." Elena introduced Elijah as she slid her hand away from Silas.

"Please just call me Silas love everyone does." Silas then turned his attention to Elijah. "It is nice to meet you Mr. Smith would you mind if I asked for a minute alone with your beautiful wife."

Elijah nodded his head and leaned forward kissing Elena's cheek. "I'll be in the bar, come find me when you are done." He whispered in her ear before he left the room. His worried increased the moment the door shut behind Elijah.

He actually did go down to the bar and order a glass of scotch and to keep them coming. He usually didn't drink so much unless something was bothering him or if there was something on his mind.

"Elijah?" He heard a male voice from behind him. Elijah turned around to see his ex in laws.

"Jeremy, Bonnie. What are you two doing here?" Elijah asked them.

"I have a gallery showing in the city and Bonnie heard from Ric that you and Elena would be here. Are you two getting back together?" Jeremy asked while Elijah was writing something on his cocktail napkin.

"We had a spat but most married couples do." Elijah handed the napkin to Jeremy for both Bonnie and Jeremy to read.

We are on a mission, we are married for this mission. Elena is upstairs with Silas who can be watching this. Act like you understand and nod your head.

The in laws nodded their head in understanding what was happening before they joined Elijah for a drink. All of them prayed and hoped that Elena would be safe upstairs alone with that monster.

Elena stood where she had been after Elijah left the room. The man in front of her look so familiar like the one had broke her, but she knew he wasn't him. He may have been a cruel heartless man, but he didn't have the ice cold eyes he did.

"I apologize for breaking into your hotel room but when I heard a Pierce was coming to Italy for me, I had to come right away to see it for myself. Why change your name? Why do you want to become one of my partners?" Silas asked as he sat down in a chair by the window.

Elena let out a small laugh which caused Silas to raise a brow at her. "Sorry just it sounds like a job interview." Elena excused her unusual behavior.

"This is like a job interview. I understand you have money, power and influences but I need to trust you so tell me your story." Silas told her in stern voice.

"After I found I was adopted and never told I got angry. I ran away long enough to meet Katherine. We stayed in contact ever since. After my adopted family died along with my birth parents, Katherine was my only family left beside my so called brother. I changed my name to be closer to her." Elena had practiced that lie so many times it flowed out naturally like the truth. "As for wanting to become your partner it is simple. I am tired of having power because of my money. I want power because I am powerful."

A wicked smirked crawled over Silas's lips and he nodded his head. "I can give you that. But I will need some of that money to help us all become powerful. We can discuss more tomorrow at dinner. My place, I'll send a car for you." Silas got up and kissed the back of Elena's hand.

"May my husband come with me?" Elena asked him not wanting to be any longer alone with that man.

"Why of course. He does know why you are here?" Silas asked while Elena walked him to the door.

"Of course, who do you think finances all of this?" She smirked leaving the room with Silas. She took the stairs telling Silas she needed to get a workout in. Not the truth of her not wanting to be in a small box with Silas.

She entered the bar just as she saw Silas leaving the hotel and she felt herself become no longer tensed up. She saw Elijah drinking with a young couple that she recognized right away.

"Bonnie Jeremy." She smiled widely and hugged the two before she pulled back "What are you two doing here?"

"Work of course, we are staying at this hotel. It is good to see you two happy." Bonnie said giving into the lie Elijah and Elena had to live.

Elena noticed her friend going along with the lie and Elena smiled while nodding her head. She ordered herself a glass of vodka, needing something strong to help her nerves about the whole thing.

Elijah could see she was still scared and he pulled her into his arms. Not only to help their cover but to comfort her. He saw that Silas looked like the man that broke Elena over and over again. Until he came into her life and fixed her for the better. Made her stronger, made her know what love is really like and made her happy, but then he fucked it all up. Maybe this could be another chance for him.

Finally got finished with the chapter. I am working on my other because I've gotten some help from my family. I'll be writing my other stories for Elena/ Klaus and then the Elena/ Damon story. I would love to get some ideas or suggestions from you guys before I start writing even though I have a few myself. So next chapter there will be more Elena/ Elijah bonding and more Silas problems. Also some flashbacks, and a certain bitch will be joining the team. Thank you for the reviews I have loved reading them and keep reviewing please.
