When you love someone,

They become more than what they are,

Beautiful, mystical and perfect,

Like an oh-so distant star.

Though I can clearly see the facts,

That sit cruelly in my face,

I can still imagine us together,

Not parted by species or race.

Love is the strongest force there is,

It transcends worlds and physicality,

The outlines blur, problems recede,

And we lose all of reality.

When our love is strong,

We forget that it's wrong,

We can only believe it's good and right,

While we embrace in golden light.

I love the who and not the what,

There is more than that to see,

My perfect man is everything,

At one with the earth, sky and sea.
