AN: Do you know how long it took me to finish writing this chapter? TOO LONG ;-; But guess what! There's an epilogue left! :D I'll hopefully have it up at the weekend seeing as I have one more day of school before mid-term! :D I hope you all enjoy this chapter and I also hope you aren't too fed up with the wait D:
Bigby shouldn't be so happy they want him instead of money, but he is. This is easy. This is something he can do. This, he can afford. But just incase, he rings Colin again and tells him the news. Colin's reaction is somewhere between shock and horror, but more so to the fact that Bigby is willing to comply.
"Did you sustain a head injury when the Spanish inquisition found and brought you in, or are you just raving mad?!" Bigby had to hold the phone away from his ear because of the sheer volume of Colin's voice.
"I'm serious, sober and sane. I just rang you to give you an update and tell you to inform someone if I don't ring back in 12 hours. You got that? Great. Bye." Bigby hung up before Colin could talk him out of it and left the phone booth.
"Time save my girlfriend." He muttered to himself.
*cries*
Snow had finally escaped those windbags and was sprinting away from the forgotten warehouse faster than you can say 'bye'. The next thing on her agenda would be informing the police and then finding Bigby. She desperately hopes he's okay and not freaking out.
She remembers one morning she woke up and went to get eggs from the shop for breakfast, when she came back there were cop cars everywhere. Police were swarming the place and Bigby had turned the apartment upside down. Saying Snow was pissed was putting it mildly.
So, saying that Bigby wasn't freaking out was like saying Snow is a man. She desperately hoped he hadn't gotten himself into something stupid.
*cries*
"Shit, Snow is going to murder me." Bigby fell for the trap. He should have seen it a mile away, but he didn't. IF he ever gets out of this alive, he's pretty sure that Snow will glue a 'dunce' cap to his head. Being Chief of police, he'll never hear the end of this.
He ponders on the matter. He came, was knocked unconscious, and woke up in an empty room. The door's locked, and it's also metal. So, to summarise, he's trapped until someone opens the door. 'This is just what I needed' was his first sarcastic thought, the second was 'Maybe Snow will save me'. Not that he doesn't think she's capable, because she is, it's just a little hard to save someone when you don't even know they need saving.
So Bigby readies himself, prepares to pounce as soon as the door opens. The door is eventually opened. Of course the last thing he expects is to see Snow on the other side.
*cries*
Snow couldn't find head nor tail of Bigby, so she decided to ring Colin. Usually, if she doesn't know, then Colin will.
Colin is dumbfounded when he picks up the phone and hears her voice on the other side, "Wha- Snow?! Where's Bigby? Please tell me he's with you and not somewhere else, him being unconscious would be a relief at this stage! Please be the bearer of good ." He pleaded over the line, Snow thought he sounded like a worried mother and would have laughed if she wasn't worried herself.
"Why? What has he done?" Snow sounded like death, her boyfriend had gone and done something stupid again and… Well, she's not one to jump to conclusions but, it may (have) cost him his life and a dead boyfriend is no fun.
The line went dead. The door of the telephone booth squeaked open and someone pulled Snow into a choke-hold. The person snarked in a low tone, "So this was the bait the Big Bad Wolf came running to save. You'd best come with me Miss White, or you're boyfriend will find himself in a very, deadly position."
Snow thought it best to comply, seeing as this person will probably lead her to Bigby. The trip was comfortable, well, aside from being in a chokehold and having to hear the person who 'caught' her monologuing. She seemed to call herself Bloody Mary, and happened to talk a lot. Snow snorted at the thought that she might die of boredom before they even reached the building.
*cries*
Bigby stared gobsmacked at his girlfriend, while gave him a frosty glare.
"Snow… How did you get here?" Bigby felt the room turn cold as Snow marched up to him.
"Funny, because that's the question I was going to ask. How did you get here Bigby? Did you just stroll into this heavily guarded building and hold up your hands? Or was there more to it?" Snow huffed and paced the length of the small room.
Bigby frowned, "Snow I came here to save you! I-I can't-"
Snow stopped pacing and stared at her boyfriend. "Bigby, you are a very valuable person in a criminal's eyes. Just because they give you an offer of you for me, doesn't mean you should take it. You made me take self-defense for a month when we first met, I can take care of myself. Sure this was a shock, but I'm okay." She spoke sternly, keeping eye contact with Bigby the whole time, gaze unwavering.
They stayed like this for several seconds before they began to hear shouts of a hostile nature.
Sending each other serious looks, they nodded, and began fighting their way out of the mess they had found themselves in. Every-so-often one of them would get punched in the gut and the other would back them up.
Bigby trusted Snow and Snow trusted Bigby. Bigby, whom had never had a proper romantic relationship in his life, knew that this, what he and Snow had, was a true relationship was built on a strong foundation of trust and no one would change that, not even a ragtag group of criminals.
Bigby stood stock still when he realised this and was rewarded with a smack in the face from Snow when she noticed. But, although he was smacked in the face, he couldn't stop smiling at her.
