"Good-bye Shepard. Thank you."

"Wait!"

Saren paused, not yet pulling the trigger.

"Just use what limited control you have to stay still, or lock yourself somewhere, while we stop Sovereign."

"But… Shepard…"

"It'll take a two-minute long cutscene, and spare us an anti-climactic boss battle that's just a rehash of the most annoying enemy in an enclosed space."

"It's not that easy!"

"Look, Tali already opened the Citadel arms."

"Point taken, but-"

"And I just ordered Hackett to save the Destiny Ascension."

"You don't understand what it's-"

"And Sovereign just blew up. You're welcome."

"Oh… Wow."

Saren lowered the gun.

"So… because of my upgrades and eventual confession, the Council's going to have to take action, right?"

"I suppose," said Shepard. "I suppose."
