So I would like to apologize to everyone who started to read this story and that it didn't go anywhere. After my last update I went through a serious bout of depression. Which I only recently got out of after years of struggle. My doctor suggested that I get back into things I used to enjoy doing and the revival of this story is my first project. And I am so excited to be back. And again I am truly sorry to those I let down. Please enjoy the continuation of…Alvin and the Chipmunks and the DEAD!
Chapter 3 Part 2
I do not own Alvin and The Chipmunks
Simon and Jeanette.
Simon slammed on the brakes in front of his house, turning off the land rover he looked over at Jeanette sitting in the passenger's seat.
"Come on Jeanette. Let's get inside. "
Both climbed out of the SUV, with Simon leading Jeanette onto the front porch. Simon pulled his house key from his pocket, and opened the door. Both chipmunks hurried inside the Seville house. Simon locked the door and began to look around the house.
"Dave! " No answer.
Jeanette put her hand on his shoulder. Giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Dave's a smart man Simon, I'm sure he's alright. "
Simon looked at Jeanette who gave him a small smile. He nodded once.
"Yeah. I'm sure your right. "
Simon took her hand and walked into the living room. Simon picked up the television remote and turned on the television. The screen lit up on channel 42 news. The emergency broadcast was scrolling across the screen telling people to stay in their homes, and to wait for help. Simon turned off the television, sighing deeply.
"Well that doesn't help us any…"
Jeanette took Simon's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"Maybe we should go to the police station? Surely that's where any survivors would head."
Simon thought about it for a moment.
"Your right, but first let's change out of these clothes. I'll get something to change into from my room and then we'll head to your house."
Simon began heading towards the stairs when Jeanette grabbed his hand suddenly.
"I don't want to be alone Simon…"
Simon blushed a little, but lead Jeanette towards the stairs.
"Don't worry…I won't leave you alone."
They both walked up the stairs and headed into the first room on the right at the top of the stairs. It was a fairly decent size room. The walls were painted blue and Simon had framed pictures of famous scientists on his walls. Jeanette noticed by Simon's window was a shelf full of research books and notebooks filled with what was most likely Simon's notes on various subjects.
"Jeanette?"
Jeanette snapped her attention to Simon who was standing by the closet with a bundle of clothes under one arm.
"I'm sorry Simon. I was focused on your room. This is the first time I've been in here since you and your brothers separated rooms."
Simon gave her a gentle smile.
"It's fine Jeanette. I was just letting you know that I'm going to head into the bathroom to change. You can sit on the bed if you want. I'll only be a moment."
Jeanette nodded and sat on the edge of the bed, while Simon walked out of the room to the bathroom across the hall. Jeanette looked up at the ceiling getting lost in thought. She was worried about her sister's and Simon's brothers, and of course Dave and Ms. Miller. She hoped that they would get answers at the police station. She thought back on the last hour, a chill ran up her spine. All the chaos that had transpired was finally catching up to her. She felt tears forming in her eyes. She felt a warm hand lightly touch her cheek. She looked forward and came face to face with Simon.
"I know it's hard Jeanette. But we are going to make it. We are going to find everyone and get somewhere safe."
Jeanette wiped her tears and stood up she looked at Simon, who had changed into dark jeans and a long sleeved blue shirt, along with a pair of simple running shoes. She gave him a small smile.
"Your right…now I think it's time to get to my house so I can change into something easier to get around in."
Simon nodded and they both left his room, heading down the stairs. Simon checked the front porch, when he was satisfied that the area was clear they made their way to his land rover. Getting into it he started it up and pulled out of the driveway, heading towards the Miller household.
Theodore finally slowed down after about twenty minutes of running from the high school. He let go of Brittany's hand and looked at her. She was panting heavily and he noticed that she had lost her heels, her bare feet showed scraps on them. He felt guilty not stopping sooner, but they had to get away from the school. Theodore looked around where they ended up. They were near a small shopping outlet; he saw a sporting goods store near the front. He looked back at Brittany, putting a small smile on his face.
"What do you say we get out of these clothes and into something we can actually move in?"
Brittany looked up from inspecting her feet and saw the sporting goods store. She let out a huff of relief.
"I say let's. My feet are killing me."
Theodore and Brittany made their way over to the sporting store. The front door was unlocked and nothing inside looked amiss. Theodore looked out at the street and saw several zombies shuffling around aimlessly. He opened the door and motioned Brittany inside and followed her inside. Theodore pushed a large rack in front of the door and grabbed a baseball bat off a shelf. They headed over to the clothing section at the back of the store. Theodore checking for zombies the entire way. Reaching the back, Theodore sat the bat down and looked at Brittany.
"Let's change and head out of here. We shouldn't be longer than five minutes. Okay?"
Brittany was already heading toward the women's section. Theodore watched her head into the women's clothing area. He started grabbing clothes off the racks to change in moving along the shelfs grabbing a pair of gym shoes.
Five minutes later they both made their way to the front of the store. Theodore was dressed in a green under armour shirt and black athletic pants, with running shoes. Brittany was dressed in a pink under armour shirt and white athletic pants, with a pair of cross trainer shoes. Brittany looked Theodore up and down.
"Wow you weren't kidding. You really have been hitting the weights. You got the whole Arnold Schwarzenegger thing going on."
Theodore flexed his arms causing his biceps to stretch the sleeves of his shirt.
"I couldn't stay the cute chubby one forever."
Brittany nodded in approval.
"Well you look really good."
Theodore blushed at her complement.
"Thanks Brittany…"
He looked out the window over across the street and saw an abandoned police car in the middle of the road. He smiled at the sight.
"Well looks like our luck has changed dramatically. Come on Brittany."
Theodore pushed the rack away from the door and quietly opened the door. He stepped out followed by Brittany. He motioned her to follow him. Crossing the street, they reached the police car. Theodore opened the door and checked for keys. They weren't in the ignition, and nowhere else he looked. Brittany kept a lookout, making sure the zombies around the area didn't notice them.
"Any luck finding the keys?"
Her voice was barely an above whisper.
"No keys…but we do have this."
Theodore pulled himself out of the police car, holding a Wilson 870 shotgun. He hit the trunk release button inside the patrol car and headed to the trunk. Opening the trunk, he took out a tactical backpack and a two boxes of 12-gauge buckshot shells. He checked the shotgun making sure it was loaded with all six shells. He put the two boxes of shells inside the backpack and put it on his back. He handed Brittany a flashlight.
"Just in case we have to possibly take the woods or any alleyways."
Brittany took the flashlight and stared at Theodore dumbly.
"How…how do you know how to do that?"
Theodore looked over at her confused.
"Do what?"
Brittany pointed at the shotgun he was holding.
"How do you know how to handle a gun?"
Theodore grimaced, obviously thinking about something.
"Alvin taught me…"
Brittany's eye's widened to the point Theodore would have laughed in any other situation.
"And how does Alvin know how to do that exactly?"
Theodore looked around the area, noticing that one of the zombies had noticed them and was slowly making its way toward them. He looked back at Brittany.
"Look I'll tell you. But first let's get to an area where we can lock down."
Brittany thought about pressing the issue but decided it could wait, at least until they were safe.
"Alright so where do you think we should go?"
Theodore looked back at the zombie who was twenty feet away from them and noticed that it Had caused the others around to notice them. He leads Brittany into the opposite direction. At a slow jogging pace.
"Alvin would head for the police station. So that's where we'll go."
Him and Brittany headed towards the downtown area where the police station was located.
Alvin and Eleanor finally reached the backyard of his house. He pulled his key out of his pocket and opened the back door. He and Eleanor stepped into the kitchen. He shut the door and locked it. He checked the revolver. He had four .38 special rounds left, and the city was crawling with thousands of zombies. He looked at Eleanor who was shaking now that they had a moment to rest. He put a hand on her shoulder too steady her. She looked at him and she calmed down considerably.
"Let's get out of these stuffy clothes."
Eleanor nodded and followed him, he walked past the stairs leading upstairs and headed to a door toward the back of the house.
"You moved into the basement?"
Alvin nodded once.
"Yeah, last year. I let Si and Theo have the upstairs with Dave."
He opened the door and turned on the light for the basement stairs.
"I don't have a window down here so we can keep the lights on while we change."
He walked down the stairs, Eleanor shut the door behind her and followed him down. Reaching the bottom of the stairs Alvin headed over to several cabinets and started to go through them. Eleanor looked around the unfinished basement. To her surprise it was surprisingly…plain. She remembered that Alvin used to have everything related to sports in his room when he shared one with his brothers. Alvin walked over to her and handed her a pair of pants and a shirt. She looked at the clothes that he had given her.
"Alvin?"
He looked over at her from where he headed.
"Yeah El?"
"What kind of clothes are these?"
"5.11 tactical clothing. Don't worry yours are meant for females. They adjust so they will fit you perfectly. The bathroom is around the back. Go ahead and change I'll go ahead and change out here then we will go."
Eleanor looked back down at the clothes Alvin had given her and headed into the bathroom to change. Alvin waited until the door clicked close. He sighed and looked inside his cabinet. He pulled out a pair of tan 5.11 tactical pants and a black under armour shirt. He pulled a pair of six inch tactical shoes from under his bed. He changed his pants and put on the tactical shoes. He took off his tux jacket and shirt, he was about to put on his under armour shirt when he heard Eleanor gasp behind him.
"Alvin…what, what happened to your back?"
Eleanor looked at Alvin's back in complete shock. He had multiple long scars all over his back and many smaller ones.
Alvin stood there for what felt like forever before turning around to face Eleanor his gaze facing the ground. Eleanor covered her mouth.
"Oh my god…Alvin, your chest and stomach too…"
Alvin's chest had a long jagged scar that went all the way down to his lower stomach, with several smaller scars around it. Eleanor immediately was in front of Alvin, embracing him.
"Alvin, what happened? When? I never even heard about you being badly injured…"
Alvin gave her a sad smile.
"That's because I made Dave, Si, and Theo swear they wouldn't tell anyone what happened. "
Eleanor started to cry into Alvin's chest holding him tightly.
"Not…not even my sisters…and me?"
Alvin put his arms around Eleanor.
"Not even your sister's, and especially not you Ellie. I didn't want you all burdened with it. I didn't want to be looked at like a victim."
Eleanor looked up into Alvin's face, her tears flowing freely.
"How?"
Alvin sat her down on the bed. He sat next to her.
"Last year, during summer break. Remember that crazy mess with that serial killer running around the city?"
Eleanor nodded, her hand finding Alvin's and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Alvin if you don't want to tell me…I won't push you to."
Alvin shook his head.
"No it's all right. I…I want to tell you."
Flashback
July 7, 2010
Alvin sat on the large couch in the living room of their house. He was fiddling with the television remote.
"Si! Theo! Hurry up! Let's get this movie marathon on the road already!"
Simon entered the living room from their room upstairs, carrying with him a thick book under his arm. He sat down next to Alvin and opened his book.
"I don't understand why we have to watch…what was it? Evil Dead?"
Alvin put his arm around his brother. A stupid grin on his face.
"Because Si. Bruce Campbell is one of the best actors to ever grace the screen. His movies are the stuff of legend."
Simon rolled his eyes at Alvin.
"Please Alvin. You cannot be serious. He is a horrible actor and his films are even worse! Why can't we watch a drama or maybe a science feature?"
Before Alvin could respond Theodore walked into the living room from the kitchen carrying two large bowls of popcorn.
"Because that's what we did when it was your turn last week Simon."
Alvin gave Simon a smug look, to which Simon just groaned.
"Thanks for the reminder Theodore."
Theodore handed Alvin one of the popcorn bowls and sat down on the floor, his back against the couch.
"Your welcome Simon."
Alvin pressed play on the remote, and the movie started to play.
About thirty minutes into the movie Alvin could of swore he heard something at the back door in the kitchen. He looked over at Simon, who was reading his book while every once in a while, looking up at the movie.
"Hey Si. Did you hear anything coming from the kitchen?"
Simon didn't bother looking up from his book.
"Probably just the wind Alvin, this is why you shouldn't watch movies like this late at night."
Theodore looked over his shoulder at Simon.
"But since it's summer vacation Dave lets us stay up all night. Speaking of Dave. When does he get back from his business trip?"
Simon closed his book, finally deciding to watch the movie.
"Sometime tomorrow morning."
Another five minutes into the movie all three heard glass shutter from the kitchen. Alvin paused the movie.
"What the hell was that?"
Alvin got off the couch and walked into the doorway of the kitchen. Simon and Theodore were coming up behind him when he stopped them by raising his hand to them. His voice came out barely a whisper.
"Si, take Theo and go upstairs to Dave's room, call the police now."
The fear in Alvin's voice was evident, it was the one reason Simon didn't try and argue with him. Simon gently pushed Theodore up the stairs. They stopped and waited for Alvin who was still at the entrance to the kitchen. Alvin was scanning the kitchen with his eye's. The glass on the back door shattered, and the door was wide open. But he couldn't see or hear anyone in the house. He backed away out of the kitchen and started up the stairs.
"I guess who ever it was ran off when they realized someone was home. Still let's make a report with the police."
Alvin took another step up the stairs when Simon and Theodore both started to yell, a split second later Alvin felt a massive hand wrap around his arm and jerk him back down the stairs. He tried to pull away, but his attacker was way too strong. Alvin saw Simon and Theodore start to make their way to him to try and help. Alvin started screaming at them.
"GET UPSTAIRS! LOCK THE DOOR! CALL THE POLICE! NOW!"
Simon and Theodore ran up the rest of the stairs and into Dave's bedroom, locking the door behind them. Theodore began crying, and Simon took the phone off the nightstand and dialed 911.
Alvin was laying on his stomach on the kitchen floor, his shirt had been ripped off of him. He tried to fight back but he had never seen anyone as strong as the person who attacked him. He felt something sharp press against his back.
"Let's have a little fun. Shall we?"
It was a deep man's voice. Alvin felt something cold against his back. Suddenly Alvin felt a knife being slid down his back. Once, twice, three times in quick slashes but each cut was deep. Alvin screamed like he never screamed before. The pain was unbearable. He felt his vision blur, a second later his attacker began craving smaller cuts into his back and stabbed him multiple times. Alvin tried to scream but couldn't find his voice. Alvin was then flipped over onto his back, where this psycho pressed the knife into his chest and began cutting a jagged pattern down to Alvin's stomach. Alvin couldn't even resister the pain, but he could feel the blood drain from his back, and start to pour from the new cut in his chest. His attacker stood up. Alvin could only see the sick, twisted smile on his face.
"Let's go see where your brothers went shall we? I'm sure they want to play to."
The man began to walk away from Alvin, but somehow Alvin was able to muster up enough strength to grab the man's leg.
"I'm…I'm not going to…let you touch my brothers…"
In a fit of rage the man grabbed Alvin by the hair and lifted him up off of the ground. He stabbed Alvin several times in the stomach and chest. Then threw him on the ground. Suddenly the front door was kicked open and someone shouted.
"Freeze hands up! Now!"
The man ran towards the back kitchen door but not before a shot rang out and hit him in the right shoulder. He stumbled but still was able to flee out the back. Alvin Felt someone pick him up.
"Come on kid! Don't die on me! An ambulance is on its way. Just hold on a little bit longer!"
Alvin felt his vision fade. But not before he said one more thing.
"Si…Theo…"
End Flashback
Alvin looked up at Eleanor.
"I woke up three days later in the hospital. Dave, Simon, and Theo were there the entire time. I asked them to keep quiet about it. I didn't want everyone looking at me like a victim."
Eleanor pulled him into a hug.
"It wasn't on the news?"
Alvin nodded once.
"That was because of the person who saved me, she was an F.B.I. agent on his trail. She caused a media blackout, all that was released was that there was an attack, but they said it was interrupted before anything could happen."
Alvin stood up off the bed, still holding Eleanor's hand.
"If you noticed around that time both Simon and Theodore started to really get serious about hitting the gym, and so did I. Of course Theo really took it to heart."
Alvin put on his black shirt, and headed to his cabinet he pulled out two tactical backpacks handing one to Eleanor and gave her a pair of unisex running shoes to put on.
"I'll tell you more later, but right now let's focus on finding the other's. I think a good place to look would be the police station."
Eleanor had finished tying her shoes, when Alvin extended his hand towards her. The smile he gave her made her heart flutter. Giving him a smile in return, she took his hand and he helped her up. Heading to the stairs Alvin reached under them and came up with a small 16-inch machete and attached it to his belt. They ascended the stairs hand in hand, exiting the basement. Alvin shut the door behind them. They went to the front door; Alvin gave Eleanor a reassuring smile. He opened the door and they stepped out into the now dead run city.
