Chapter 4

Wow here is chapter 4 guys! I just wanna say thank you so much for the reviews! You have no idea how much they mean to me, but I hope to get more and more reviews and get your satisfaction in XxChancesxX. I don't know how much chapters there will be but hopefully up to like maybe 15 or 20 chapters? Maybe more for who knows. Oh and I am actually really excited since I'm sure much of you have noticed a lot of MephAmy's starting to grow rapidly which makes me really happy since I started writing this story since I was inspired by originally "The Bride of Mephiles" By Crankshaftrabbit. So i'll say this "SHIP AMY AND MEPHILES FOR MY FAN GIRL KICKS!"

*cough* Anyway I hope you all enjoy this story and I been meaning to say I might-just might include a lemon in this story, I mean I don't mind writing one but I know you youngsters be out there curious and being little perverts.

Everything seemed so cold as she breathed, steam escaped from her breath but the only thing in her mind right now as where was she. Deep in her conscious she was by herself in the loneliness of the darkness which surrounded her form, she couldn't remember how long she has been here but the silence was annoying her greatly. Turning her head from side to side she hoped yet feared if she would find someone or something at all. How on Mobius was she supposed to get the heck up out of here at all? Maybe…this was a dream.

"Rose."

"Shadow?" She called out worriedly into the dark abyss after her ears flickered instantly to the faint voice of someone familiar. "Shadow, is that you down there?"

"Rose…Amelia Rose"

The voice continued repeating her name making her feel uncomfortable. She turned away from where the voice was and ran the other way. This was too awkward for her. As she ran large chains seemed to fly at her from behind wrapping painfully tight to her waist and neck, she cried out as they were forcefully pulling her back to the voice. No Amy changed her mind this was more of a Nightmare than a dream. She forced herself forward but it wasn't going to last her very long as her body was beginning to feel sore and the lack of oxygen was weakening her. Tears stained her eyes as she fell onto her knees, her face began turning a faint blue as she was being pulled back.

"H-help." Amy squeaked out before everything somehow seemed to fade away as she choked and icy cold hands seems to grab her.

"Rose…I'm coming for you." The voice whispered into her ears.

Snapping her eyes wide opened from cold sweat she gasped as her heartbeats faster than her breathing. Why was dreaming this she had thought and caressed her neck before suddenly wincing, she got up wobbly and looked towards the mirror near her dresser. Her eyes widened in horror, there were purple bruised all over her neck resembling chain imprints, she opened up her nightgown to see as it trailed even towards her neck, back and stomach, it stung as she touched it and what horrified her the most was the odd rose imprint at her lower torso. What was going on?!

"W-wait, how did I get home?" Amy said to herself and realized her school uniform was folded away neatly by the bottom of the bed. Her ears flickered a moment before hearing a voice downstairs, she panicked as they were heading towards her bedroom. She whipped out her piko piko hammer and awaited the trespasser, as soon as the door creaked open she swung without second thought before she realized it was dodged. Her jade eyes snapped towards the figure who was instantly someone she knew yet was shocked to see.

"S-shadow?!" Amy said releasing her hammer which had created a small crater on her polished wooden floors. She reminded herself to pay for that later. "I thought you wouldn't be back in at least a week, what happened?"

Shadow paused for a moment, unsure of what to tell Amy. He didn't want to tell her of the events earlier or even the fact that he has been drugging her but his eyes wasn't focused on Amy's question it was the bruises all over body. Where did she get that? Scourge no doubt didn't do that, he felt himself heat up in anger as he knew this was a sign Mephiles was getting stronger and stronger by the minute. He kept his blank expression once more.

"Amy, are you okay?" Shadow said softly, his hands hesitantly touch the bruises as she winces.

"Um I guess, I don't know how these got here though," She said as she heard Shadow sigh and heads straight into the bathroom in the hall retrieving a first aid kit. His head motions Amy to sit on the bed as she follows and sits down. "Hey Shadow you don't have to do this for me I can do it."

Shadow shook his head, "Just shut up for a second Amy." He picked up a bag of ice and a wash cloth before placing the cloth over parts of Amy's body then putting the ice bags on the cloth. "Your staying home today okay?"

"Aw what?" Amy whined out. She wanted to actually go to School today, but just to see Sonic or her friends Cream and Marine. Shadow shook his head in disapproval and that made Amy know Shadow made up his mind. "Shadow I swear you act like a mom." She joked.

"I assure you I do not!" Shadow snapped before taking the aid kit back into the bathroom. Amy smiled at him, Shadow really was something else. As she waited for Shadows return as she saw him head downstairs, she couldn't help but think back on what happened before she was conked out of it. She remembered that green hedgehog named Scourge harassing her and telling her weird stuff she couldn't quite recall. Amy paused for a moment. As she thought more about it, she did something last night, something but...what was it again?

"Hey is sleeping beauty up yet or what?" A male voice grumbled downstairs startling Amy. Who else was downstairs, did Shadow bring company over without telling her? She pouted, she felt odd knowing there were strangers in her house but that kinda sounded a lot like Scourge when she thought about it.

"Wait...SCOURGE?!" Amy screeched to herself before she had slipped off the bed hitting her back. Amy instantly cried out holding the bruise out in pain as she tried not to make a mess with the ice spilling onto her floors. Shadow instantly ran up stairs and helped Amy back in bed and fixed her up.

"Why did you get out of bed you idiot?!" Shadow scowled at her, he growled in frustration. Shadow cared for Amy a lot but she somehow seemed to love to get herself into trouble which made himself so worried about her. She could be so stubborn and naive at times that it caused him to be cautious over the years. "Your going to hurt yourself even more than you already are dammit."

"S-sorry," Amy winced before turning her head back to the outside of her bedroom door. "Um, who is downstairs?" She asked curiously.

She noticed Shadow paused for a moment before she heard him swallowed and looked at her with his crimson eyes. Amy looked towards him wondering what was going on in his mind as he seemed to be trying to figure out a way to answer her simple question. Shadow took a breath before grasping Amy's small hand.

"Amy, look this might be hard for you to understand but I have a lot to explain to-

"Hey Shadow I'm hungry down here," Scourge yelled from downstairs, "Jeez I fucking hate you..."

Amy and Shadow looked down to see Scourge at the stairway staring at both of them with a rather bored expression. Amy frowned instantly and looked towards Shadow.

"Shadow! Do you know this freaky pervert?" Amy asked Shadow as she pointed to Scourge with a disapproval. "I really hope you don't."

"Oh wow, cutie got backbone," Scourge teased earning a growl from Amy. Shadow grumbled before noticing the two giving off a death glare.

"Yes I do know Scourge," Shadow said, "He's going to be helping me out with...some things."

"What things?" Amy asked,as her cautious jade eyes didn't move from Scourge's taunting icy blue ones. "What exactly is going o here, because I know for a fact I cant be the only one seeing a demon tail right there!"

Scourge rolled his eyes, "What? You never seen a demon before cutie?"

"S-stop calling me that! Wait demon?" Amy questioned, she was becoming more and more confused by the second. She turned to Shadow. "Shadow I'm not understanding."

"Amy, look I will set this straight as easy as I can," Shadow said, "Your cursed Amy,"

"W-what?" Amy stuttered.

"Your cursed," Shadow repeated, the expression on his face told that he was serious, but how? Amy sat up ignoring the pain all over her body. Disbelief covered her face, she wanted to believe Shadow was lying or maybe she hasn't been taking her pills lately.

"Please...please tell me this is just a joke and i'm just..." Amy clamped both of her hands to her face, her eyes covered as she took in a breath trying as hard as she could to comprehend this situation. "I'm just really unsure how to handle this Shadow,"

"Rose...this happened a really long time ago; you see you were really young back then," Shadow said, he took one of her hands into his own as Amy looked at his hand only. "You were tricked into touching a rose that turned you into a vessel for a demon named Mephiles to escape Pandemonia,"

"Pande- what?" Amy asked, Scourge rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"Jeez how much fucking pills did you give this damn girl?" Scourge questioned , he walked into the room and sat on Amy's small chair, "She doesn't even know where she was freaking born!"

"Oh and you do?" Amy said glaring as Scourge, she wished she could smack him with her hammer over and over again but her body didn't seem as in to it as her mind was. Scourge sneered and leaned towards her.

"Actually I do," Scourge said, his eyes looked down towards her under belly staring at the rose symbol, Amy blushed and hid her stomach from him, "That symbol definitely say's your from Pandemonia...except for the fact it's fucking blue.

"Blue roses are a bad sign," Shadow said, Amy looked towards Shadow again and crossed her arms, " Are...you getting this?"

"Who is this Mephiles guy?" She asked, "That's what I really want to know."

"Mephiles is a demon like entity that is from Pandemonia," Shadow said, "He tried to rival with the King of Pandemonia and take over not just Pandemonia but Earth as well, but he was quickly stopped when the King had destroyed his physical form making him nothing but a measly spirit."

"But...?"

"He was still just as dangerous, he needed a form and a vessel to cross to Earth. His best way to do this was to trick a child into becoming his vessel so he created a blue rose, a unique flower anyone would be curious to look or even touch it." Shadow spoke, his voice seemed to sound more ashamed and irritated, Amy felt her heart beat faster as he continued on with the story, "That's when you seemed to wander yourself to it and be the victim and likely the end of us all,"

"Cant this be fixed?!" Amy cried out, she was now in full panic and felt extremely paranoid as if this Mephiles character would pop out of nowhere any second. "There has to be something right- right?!"

"Chill babe," Scourge said, he seemed not really bothered by Amy's panic session, "We just need to find the demon's crown that's all or you find a lover that can break the rose currently inside ya,"

"Wait did you say lover? Like true love can break the spell?" Amy said now next to Scourge and highly curious, desperate for answers.

"Corny don't cha think cutie?" He chuckled when Amy frowned at him for calling her a cutie, "Yep that's the 'other' way to break it besides finding the Demon's Crown,"

"What's the Demon's Crown?" She questioned.

"The crown that controls all demons and grants unimaginable power and wishes," Scourge said greedily, "Many would die for that damn crown,"

"How will that help me though?"

"It will not only easily defeat Mephiles but break the curse on you as well," Scourge said before standing up and stretching. He went straight downstairs leaving Shadow and Amy to wonder what Scourge was about to do before they heard him enter the fridge. Amy stood up instantly.

"Hey! Who the heck said you can go in my fridge!?" She hissed dangerously, Scourge only laughed in response.

"As long as I'm here trying to help you, I can do whatever the hell I want!" Scourge yelled out like a child.

Amy turned to Shadow, was he really going to let Scourge do whatever he wanted, in her house!? Shadow sighed before shrugging. He sat up and helped return Amy back to the bed.

"Look, just try to rest for a bit and we can talk some more later," Shadow said putting the ice back on her less darkened bruised skin, "I'll protect you so don't worry to much on anything, just focus on your life."

"Kinda hard when you have a demon trying to take over your body and rule the world," Amy said dryly before turning her head to the window. "This really sucks Shadow, I had a dream about him and he was choking me to the point I thought I was going to die,"

Shadow caressed Amy's cheek, her emerald eyes stared into him as he smiled, a rare thing Shadow ever did with anyone, and it made Amy feel less scared somehow.

"Like I said before, I will protect you Rose," Shadow said before heading out towards the door, "Mephiles will have to get through me to get to you."

Amy smiled.

"Thank you Shadow."

Rouge walked back and forth quickly, this was getting bad. No matter how many strong lights they covered the room with, Mephiles seemed to keep fighting through trapped mass form he was in. He was a lot more active than usual and had actually injured a guard the other day. Knuckles managed to keep the demon a bay, but for how long before Mephiles would be storming the castle once again only to bring harm to all? Rouge never felt this nervous in her life and headed towards her room. The light of the moon glistened gracefully on her sparkling blue gown as she entered the bedroom. She sat down on the bed and stared blankly out of the window and into the sky. She hoped, no prayed that Shadow could save them all.

"Why...why did that girl have to be there at the wrong time?" Rouge mumbled quietly to herself, As much as she wanted to blame that damn pink hedgehog for this catastrophe she knew Amy was only a child back then. Everyone knew it would have been much easier to just kill Amy and everything probably would have been fine but Shadow refused to do something that cruel. "Dammit Shadow you better hurry,"

A light rumble make the ground shake beneath her, Rouge's ears flickered suddenly as she stood up quickly. What was that? She walked towards the door and pressed her ear against it to hear for just anything, but no sound came. She stood back before she was suddenly slammed into the wall, almost knocking the breath out of her. Rouge gasped and tried to make a run for it but my unseen forces her body slid down the floor and was pinned to wall. She was about to scream when a voice erupted through her mind.

"Hello Rouge," A dark voice mumbled so quietly it sent shivers down the poor bat's spine. Her eyes narrowed as she knew instantly this was Mephiles. He chuckled a bit as Rouge continued to struggle, "Oh don't worry my lady, I am still underneath the castle but I very much have made my way through mentally,"

"It wont be long until Shadow finds that crown!" Rouge said, "Then you will be no more."

"You seemed pretty doubtful from what I could see Rouge," Mephiles said in her head, "And all of yours fears of me only make me stronger."

She shuddered, even though Mephilis wasn't here, she could feel the icy cool air of supposedly his breath on her neck. Rouge felt helpless and could only hope the worst was not yet soon to come. Where were the guards when you needed them the most? All she could think was why Mephlies even bothered to talk with her of all people, it gave her a twisted feeling in her gut. Rouge took a deep breath before stuttering out.

"W-what do you want from me?"

"I'm glad you asked," Mephlies said, he slowly released Rouge and kept her in place, "I need you to do me a favor..."

Shadow: *blows at pistol before leaving the room*
