Most people in the Gryffindor dorms had awoken by now , and were slowly filling the common room where Hermione and Ginny were still sat by the fireplace. Ginny's cut had stopped bleeding now, and Hermione had hidden the blood and mud stained cloth away. "So Gin, I was thinking. Maybe we could start that tutoring today?" Said Hermione
"Sure why not!" Replied Ginny "hey! If the weather clears up, maybe we could go for a picnic or something? It feels like we haven't speant time together in ages!"
Hermione suddenly felt very nervous "um yeah , sure, we can study then as well," said Hermione smiling, trying not to sound uneasy.
"Great! I'll see if I can get some food from the kitchens, and meet you by the lake?" Exclaimed Ginny, jumping to her feet.
"Okay, meet you there" shouted Hermione as Ginny rushed off towards the portrait hole.
Hermione went up to her dorm , and to her delight , it was empty. She sat down on her bed and ran her fingers through her bushy hair. Why was she getting so worked up about this? "It's Ginny" she whispered to herself , over and over. After a few minutes of trying to stop her stomach from feeling like it contained one hundred butterfly's, Hermione got up and looked at herself in her small hand mirror. Her cheeks were burning red. She cast a spell that made a small pool of water appear in the palm of her hand, before splashing it onto her face. This seemed to calm down the rosiness of her cheeks. After drying her face on an old tshirt, Hermione left the dorm and began to head towards the lake, where Ginny, her friend, would be waiting for her. As she was approaching the front entrance to Hogwarts, she was approached by Luna. "Hello Hermione" Luna said, in her usual bubbly voice. " Where are you off too? I'm just off to see Hagrid, I have some suggestions about the animals he uses in his classes, now that the weathers cleared up!" Hermione's heart did a little flip when she heard the last sentence, that means Ginny will definitely be there, but did it matter that much? She's spent the last several years with Ginny, one picnic isn't that important...
"Just off the meet Ginny," replied Hermione "nothing special" she quickly added as she saw the grin creep at the corner of Luna's mouth.
"Well I wont keep you, have fun" Said Luna, trying to hold in a smug look, before turning on her heel , her long blonde hair swaying by her hips, and skipping off down the corridor, which was evidently the opposite way to Hagrid's hut.
Hermione ignored the thought and carried on towards the lake. She didn't pass anybody on her way there, and was glad to see that Ginny had decided to sit on a dry patch of grass that was sheltered by a huge tree. There was a red picnic blanket spread out underneath the picnic basket, Ginny and her books. She wasn't studying yet though. She was just sat, gazing over the lake, appearing to be in deep thought. The lake was glistening in the now shining sun. The thought had just occurred to Hermione , that they could well of gone into Hogsmead that day now, but for some unknown reason felt she would rather spend the day doing this.
Hermione began to walk over towards Ginny, and it wasn't long before Ginny drew her attention from the lake and noticed her approaching. A smile spread itself across Ginny's face, that annoyingly made Hermione blush. As Hermione reached the picnic blanket , Ginny stood up and spread her arms out , obviously inviting Hermione in for a 'hello hug'. Hermione hugged Ginny for a few seconds. The red heads locks tickled the side of her face, but Hermione didn't mind. They broke away from the hug and sat down opposite one another. "So, what subject do you want to work on today?" Asked Hermione, awkwardly.
"Well, I was thinking you could help me with the extra Herbology homework I was given?" Pleaded Ginny, grinning. Hermione laughed.
"And by help do you mean you guess all the answers and I just correct them all at the end anyway?" Teased Hermione
"You know me so well!" Laughed Ginny.
"Fine! But was the point in tutoring if you don't do any of the work? You don't learn anything!" Said Hermione, still smiling.
"Okay okay, we'll do it together then, better?" Asked Ginny, grinning.
"Better." Replied Hermione , before nudging her friend gently on the arm , and accidently giggling. Ginny just smiled at this. She'd always loved Hermione's laugh, especially when it was her causing it.
