"Memories?"
"Yeah, Bucky, memories. We're gonna get them back for you. Would you like that?" Steve said as he sat on the small bed Bucky was sitting on as well.
"Is Nat going to help? And Sam?"
"Sure, I'll ask if they're free today," Steve smiled.
"So… Memories? You want me to get them back," Bucky whispered. He didn't like the sound of memories, not even liking the thought of getting them back. The machines scared him. "There aren't going to be machines, right?"
Steve looked over his friend's features, his eyes dark and swollen from lack of sleep, his cheek bones protruding his face, face thin from lack of nutrients. He felt horrible. "Well, Buck, we're only going to inject you with a chip that goes into your brain. No machines after that."
A memory chip? "Can Natasha be there, just in case? I don't want to hurt anyone." Bucky looks down at his bionic arm, timid.
"Natasha will be there," Steve confirmed as he put his hand on Bucky's shoulder as Bucky looked up and smiled. "We'll all be there for you, Bucky Barnes."
