RRTAB: Read, Review, and Tell A Buddy!

"The hills are alive," a happy voice sang. The voice floated throughout the Tsukino home. "With the sound of music! Music!"

Sierra walked downstairs, following the voice and the delicious smell that floated from the kitchen. "Wow, the food smells really good!"

Usagi turned away from the stove and smiled at her cousin. "Thanks. Isn't today wonderful?" She sat a plate of pancakes on the table

"Singing," Sierra said, sitting down, "smiling, cooking. What's going on here?"

"Nothing," Usagi's smile did not falter. "I'm just in a really good mood." She twirled. "An absolutely wonderful mood."

Sierra looked at the pancakes in front of her carefully, suddenly remembering who made them. "Are these edible, Usagi?"

Usagi nodded. "It took fifteen tries but I think this batch is a winner. Try them!"

Sierra gulped, looked to her cousin, then back to the pancakes. Usagi was so excited… She could survive one stomach bomb, right? She looked back at her younger cousin. "Can I have time to pray first?"

Usagi was not amused. "Just try them," she pouted.

"Fine," Sierra sighed. "But you're paying for my hospital bills." She picked up her fork and knife and slowly began to saw the pancake stack. She ate the pancakes slowly while looking for the nearest trash can, just in case.

"Well?" Usagi asked excitedly. "How are they?"

Sierra pushed the plate away. "Well, they're edible, which is a step up for you."

Others would be insulted by Sierra's statement, wanting a more complimentary term like 'tasty' or 'delicious'. Usagi, on the other hand, was very excited. "Yes! They're edible!"

Sierra chuckled at the blonde's reaction. Yes, something definitely happened last night for her to be so excited. "Did you already get your rose?"

Usagi nodded. "First thing this morning. It's with all the others upstairs. He's so sweet to send them. He such a wonderful person."

Sierra raised an eyebrow. "You speak as if you've met him."

Usagi grinned. "I have!" she exclaimed. "And, Sierra, he's absolutely perfect. Tall, dark, handsome, mysterious. He is amazing."

"You don't say," Sierra mumbled, wondering how Mamoru managed to change Usagi's opinion of him in a matter of hours. "I'm glad you like him. But I have to admit, I'm a little surprised. I thought I would take a bit more to convince you that he's the guy. Unless—you remember?"

Usagi frowned for the first time that morning. "Remember what?"

Sierra froze. Something wasn't right here. "Usagi, who are you talking about?"

Usagi sighed dreamily. "His name is Tuxedo Kamen. The most perfect guy in the world! And guess what—he loves me! Me! How lucky am I?"

After hearing the identity of the man that stole her cousin heart, Sierra heard nothing else that Usagi said. What was Mamoru thinking? He didn't want to trigger her memories yet he tells her he loves her as Tuxedo Kamen. Surely, Mamoru wasn't trying to compete with his alter ego, right? There was no way that the sarcastic college boy that Usagi loved to hate could compete with a mysterious superhero that already confessed to her! The older girl stood up. "I-I have to go, Usagi."

Sierra excused herself and left the younger girl to her daydreams. There was a certain superhero she had to see.

"I'm going out!" Ail announced for his sister's sake once he was dressed for the day.

An looked up from the television. "Where are you going? It's Saturday. We don't have school today."

"I'm not going to school. I'm just going out."

An eyes narrowed. "You're going to see her, aren't you?"

"Who?"

"That human girl. Ail, let me remind you. We are here on a mission. You don't have time for trivial feelings. Becoming anything more than friends will only break her heart in the end."

"Don't worry, An. It's nothing serious." He placed a kiss on her cheek. "You'll always be my number one."

An crossed her arms. "So you say." She sighed. "Have fun. Tell her I said hi."

"Okay," he smiled and opened the front door.

"So you are going to see her!"

Ail chuckled. "No comment. Goodbye, An."

"Mamoru!" Sierra stormed into Crown Arcade, attracting the attention of many of its patrons.

The dark-haired man winced from his usual seat. He sighed and sat his cup of coffee on the counter. "Yes, Sierra?"

Sierra stomped over to the counter and took a seat next to Mamoru. "Guess what I just heard."

Mamoru sat silent for a moment before shaking his head. "I give up. Please share. I'm dying with anticipation."

Sierra eyes narrowed at Mamoru's use of sarcasm but she opted to say nothing about it. "Usagi told me that she knows who's sending the roses every day."

"Really?" Mamoru feigned shock. "She said that?"

Sierra nodded. "In fact, she said she met the guy. Tuxedo Kamen."

"You don't say!"

Sierra hit Mamoru on the side of the head. "Knock it off with the sarcasm!" she yelled. "This is serious. I thought you wanted her to fall for Mamoru."

"I do."

"Well, you're not doing a good job of showing it! Who do you think is more attractive right now: a suave superhero that send her roses every day or the jerk that picks on her on a daily basis?"

"I'm sorry!" Mamoru yelled over Sierra's lecture. He sighed. "It's just…it's harder than I thought. I see her every day and I have to pretend that I don't know her. I have to pretend that there was nothing between us. I have to put on a straight face when she calls me names because I know that she's happier without her memories. There are so many times that I have come close to saying forget it just for a chance to hold her again. I guess yesterday I finally gave up."

Sierra sighed. One half of her wanted to roll her eyes and punch him in the arm because he sounded like a cross between a hopeless romantic, a horny teenager, and Shakespeare. Yet, her of half really felt sorry for the guy. She could only imagine how hard all of this was for Mamoru. "I'm sorry I yelled at you," she mumbled. "I just want everything to work out right between you two."

Ail had a gift. It was a gift he discovered he had a long time ago. By following the energy signature, Ail could find anyone anywhere. He rarely used that gift. Today was one of those rare times. He followed Sierra's energy signature to an arcade.

"Sierra!" the redheaded boy exclaimed when he found her.

Sierra turned to face him. Her face turned red. "Ail," she said. "What are you doing here?"

"Looking for you, actually," Ail said, running a hand through his head. "I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere. With me, that is."

"Well," Sierra started, trying her best to come to a decision. She found herself torn again. She wanted more than anything to go with Ail, if nothing more than to figure out how he cause butterflies to invade her stomach every time he came in a five-foot radius. But could she go living out her fairytale while her friend sat miserably by himself.

Mamoru sighed. "Go ahead. No need for me to bring you down."

"Mamoru…"

"No, really, Sierra. Go on. I'm a big boy. Go enjoy yourself."

Sierra smiled. "Thanks, Mamoru." She slipped out of her seat and gave Ail a smile. "Let's go."

Ail led the way out of the arcade. Sierra gave one more glance to Mamoru before following. "So," she said once the arcade was a block behind them. "Where are we going?"

"Who was that?" Ail ignored Sierra's question to ask his own.

Sierra frowned. "Who was who?"

"The guy back at the arcade, Sierra. Who is he to you?" Ail asked. "Is he your boyfriend?"

Sierra's eyes widened in horror. "Mamoru? My boyfriend? Gross! He's just a friend!"

"Do you have a boyfriend at all?"

Sierra shook her head. "I don't."

"Oh. I see." The two walked on in silence for a little while longer. "Sierra."

"Yes?"

"May I hold your hand?"

"Hold my hand?"

Ail nodded. "I read that it was a sign of affection. May I?"

"Oh," Sierra shrugged. "Yeah. Sure." Ail took her in his and gripped it tightly. She winced. "Ouch!"

"What is it?" Ail asked, concern in his voice.

"You're hurting me," she tried to pulled away to no avail. "Your hand. It's too tight."

"I'm sorry," he let go of her hand and looked to the ground. He sighed. "I guess I'm not making a very good impression?"

Sierra chuckled as she rubbed her aching hand. He certainly was weird but he managed to be sweet at the same time. "It's okay, Ail. It was an accident, right? It happens." Ail said nothing. He continued to look at the ground. She took his hand in hers. "See? I'm fine."

Ail smiled. "That's good. I'm really sorry for hurting you."

Sierra leaned her head on his arm. "You never answered my question, by the way. Where are we going?"

Ail smiled brightly. "It's a surprise."

"I'm going!" Usagi called to the residents of the Tsukino house. She skipped out of the front door and made her way to Crown Arcade. She walked into the arcade with a smile on her face. She sat beside Mamoru, humming as she waited for Motoki to come and take her order.

"You're in a good mood," Mamoru said with a raise of an eyebrow.

"That's right!" the young blonde chirped. "And there's nothing you can do to ruin it today! Take your best shot, Jerk!"

Mamoru sighed and shook his head. "Actually, I'll pass."

It was Usagi's turn to raise an eyebrow. "Really? That's unlike you. Are you sick or something?"

"Usagi," he sighed. "Is there someone you like?"

His question came to her as a surprise. "Where did that come from?" she laughed. "You really aren't feeling well, are you?"

Mamoru held a straight face. He took a sip of his coffee and cleared his throat. "I'm serious, Usagi. Is there someone you like?"

Usagi shrugged. "Well, yeah. I have someone that I like. Why?"

He sighed again but Usagi couldn't tell that it was in disappointment. "You don't get to see him very often, do you?"

"Well, no, but…"

"What's his name?" Mamoru asked, a plan beginning to form in his head. "Maybe I can help."

"I doubt it. It's Tuxedo Kamen." Usagi winced, preparing for Mamoru's laughter.

He surprised her even more when he didn't. "See? I can help! I'm actually really good friends with Tuxedo Kamen. If you want, I can set you two up."

Usagi's eyes widened in excitement. "Really? You'd do that, Mamoru?"

Mamoru felt a slight pain of his heart. He was jealous of his alter-ego for capturing Usagi's heart in a matter of minutes while his quest for love remained fruitless. Yet, he pasted on a smile. "Of course, Odango. He can only meet you at night, for reasons you can imagine. I can get him to go to the park tonight if you're interested."

Usagi hesitated for a moment. She knew her father's rule about being in the house before nightfall. She'd have to sneak out in order to meet Tuxedo Kamen but there were bound to be consequences if she was caught. She nodded to herself. Meeting Tuxedo Kamen was well worth being eternally grounded. "That's perfect, Mamoru-kun!" she smiled. "Thank you so much!"

"No problem," he faked his enthusiasm. "Be in the park at nine, okay?"

"Okay! I have to go!" Usagi jumped out of the stool and skipped out the door.

Mamoru watched silently as she disappeared from sight. He sighed again. He, as Mamoru, had lost his chance to be with her. If meeting as Tuxedo Kamen was the only way he could be with her, then so be it.

Usagi glanced at the clock on her nightstand. 8:30 pm. She would have to sneak out in fifteen minutes if she wanted to get to the park on time.

"And then," Sierra recapped her time with Ail to her cousin. "He won me a teddy bear. He was so good at the ring toss." She laughed. "I never thought a carnival could be so much fun. Hey, are you listening? Usagi?"

Usagi sighed. "I'm sorry, Sierra. I just was thinking about meeting with Tuxedo Kamen. I'm kind of nervous."

"Why? I said I'd cover for you."

"But what if I completely misinterpreted his intentions? What if this is all one big mistake? I've never done anything like this before. What if I get caught sneaking out? I'd bring you down with me!"

"Calm down," Sierra stopped her cousin's worried rant. She shoved the stuffed bear she was holding into Usagi's arms. "Be quiet and hug Mr. Bear. Everything's going to be just fine. I'm sure he likes you. And you're not going to have any problems at all. Everything's going to work out. Just keep the attitude you had at breakfast. Okay?"

Usagi nodded. "Thanks, Sierra. You're the best."

"Yeah, yeah. Just remember me at Christmas time, okay?" The older of the girls glanced at the clock. "It's time for you to go. Use the window. Be careful."

Usagi placed Mr. Bear on the bed and slipped her shoes on. She opened the window and stuck her foot out, trying to reach the branch of the tree. Once she found stable ground, she slipped completely out of the room.

"I'll open the door for you when you come back," Sierra called after her in a hushed tone. She closed the window and sighed. "I really hope Mamoru knows what he's doing."
