Five months later

Sometimes even the best gets caught. She'd been working on a case by herself; Deadpool was working with Spiderman. The Rogue can overcome many things but sometimes the body gets weary and stops working the way it should. The Brotherhood knew this and used it against her.

She woke up in her old room with Sabertooth standing over her. Her head was foggy and her body hurt. "You really should rest." He wasn't rough or cruel to her like he once was. She had saved his life but it had led to her death as Marie.

"Does it really matter Victor? He's going to kill me anyway." She stood and the world shifted. Victor helped her to sit back down on the bed. "What did they give me?"

"The same thing they gave you in the lab, babe." He knew that would piss her off. She stood this time with a surer body and movements. "Steady there. He'll be here soon."

"I could knock you out and kill him." She walked toward him with clenched fist but stumbled, he caught her.

"You could if you weren't drugged. Try to relax or he'll give you another round." She knew it was bad if Vic-no Sabertooth was trying to sooth her.

"How long until he does whatever?" She asked looking at the man who was sometimes a brother but most times an enemy. "Is Mystique going to be there?"

"Only a few more hours and yes she will. I'm sorry about this but you're just another job Rogue." She nodded at him and let him place her back on the bed.

She watched as he finished strapping her into the large machine. "You were always my favorite. Please forgive me but this is for the greater good." Magneto pulled off his glove and reached for her face. She felt the pull and his memories rushed in along with his powers, she didn't scream.

Erik dropped to the metal grate beneath the machine as Mystique turned the machine on. She felt her hands start to burn and still she didn't scream. She felt her life begin to slip away yet no scream left her mouth. She heard shouts and screams which caused her to open her eyes and lifted her head as much as she could. She saw people clad in leather fighting the Brotherhood it was then she scream. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."

She really start feeling the pain then; her body felt as it was being ripped apart but she didn't care. "No stop. You can't save me." She knew they couldn't hear her voice but she had to try. She saw a red beam shoot across the sky and felt the harsh wind. It was getting harder and harder to keep her eyes open. The last thing she saw was a black blur fly through the air.

~I DEAD~

She was dressed in a white gown and surround by white light. She heard voices calling her name, one was coming from behind her and the other was coming from the light. She took a step forward toward the light but it felt wrong so she stepped back which felt right. She was thinking, trying to remember what was going on when she felt a yanking sensation.

She came to lying on the metal grate of the machine and with a weight on her chest. She started coughing which caused the weight to move. It was the Wolverine, he looked so worn out and tired but he was smiling before his eyes rolled into the back of his head. "LOGAN." She moved but her body betrayed her and the pain was too much; she met the darkness with open arms.

~I fee D~

She sat up in a med lab and started jerking wires off her and IVs out of her arms. She hopped off the metal table with the bright lights that shone down. She heard voices outside the door whispers but they were nothing to her. The door slid open and there stood the X-men all except for one.

"Where is he?" Their faces held fear and shock. Charles moved toward her like he was going to try and sooth her but it wouldn't work. "Where is the Wolverine?" No one answered. She clenched her fist and raised her voice. "WHERE IS LOGAN?"

Finally Kitty pointed down the hall. She moved without waiting for words or them to stop her. She pushed the door open and there he laid his room was different from hers. They tried to make it look less like a medical lab and more like a regular room. He laid on the bed covered in a white sheet. His skin was pale with his veins showing through, she noticed he wasn't hooked up to machines to monitor his heart but that change her need to see him.

She moved to the chair that was sat beside the bed. It hurt to move but she forced herself to not react to it as she bent to sit. She touched his arm, he was cold and stiff. 'He must have died' she thought to herself. She cleared her throat, "Logan, you are a stupid man, you know that? You should have let me die up there."

She held his hand with her right and covered her face with the other. "I'm the only one who can kill you. Charles didn't tell you that, did he? God if you had held on any longer….." She trailed off and just sat staring at their hands. He was locked up in her head and she refused to let him out.

She had died and that meant her mind had lost control. There had been so many people in her head at once and Erik, Logan, and Victor had been the worst other than Carol. They had fought and ripped down even more walls. She had forced herself awake before everything could fully heal. She was thinking about the damage done to her body and mind when she felt something squeeze her hand.

She looked up at theirs hands then his face. "I smell blood. Is it yours?" His voice was rough and scratchy. She laughed and shook her head.

"Yeah it's mine. I pulled out my IVs and I didn't let them clean it up so I dripped in here. Still dripping." She could feel it rolling down her arm to her elbow but she had worse so it didn't bother her.

"Why aren't you healed?" Logan was fully awake now and looking her over. "I let you absorb me. That should have stopped."

She tried to let go of his hand but he held on. "Because I'm tired and I wasn't ready to wake up from my coma. I had – I had to make sure you were alive."

"Also to tell me I'm a stupid man. I figured you'd be the only to be able to kill me after the first touch. That first touch was my first brush with death and I kinda like it, Marie." She gasped. "You don't remember? You told me your name after I pulled you off the machine."

She tried to think back but it wasn't coming to her, "So you were the one calling me back. I thought it was all in my head. Thank you for saving me even if it was a dumbass move." She stood up, squeezed his hand and left the room.
