I'm back again! I know it's been a long introduction but we'll finally get a peek into a main Shingeki no Kyojin event! Just for future reference, I will only take certain things from both stories to create my own customized series of events. There will be spoilers past where the anime ended for those of you who haven't read the manga. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the newest installment!

I was jumping through the trees when I reflected over all that I had learned during Midori's own personalized form of torture. I was quite proficient, if not advanced, in everything that I had been taught over the course of that one week. I couldn't believe the progress I had made in a single week of training. Kurama had only provided snide comments, much to my aggravation, about how long it took me to master something or about how horrible an attempt to do something had ended.

Midori had also taught me more about the creatures that followed my every move, their eyes full of want for my flesh. The monstrous beings were hell bent on killing living humans by devouring them alive, only to throw up whatever they had eaten into an unrecognizable and undigested mass of human carrion. Just picturing the result made me sick to my stomach, increasing my hatred of the creatures. They didn't need any nutrients, they only killed for the sake of ending human lives and causing misery. They even ignored the fauna that lived in the forest. Their diet, if you could call it that, was strictly based on the consumption of humans. And just thinking about it reminded me of the reason why I had started the training in the first place.

Hey Kurama? I asked.

What is it Naruto? You know how much I dislike being disturbed.

As if. I was the only thing that prevented him from being bored to death.

Do you think I have what it takes to control you now? I mean I've improved quite a bit, haven't I?

If you have to ask me if you can or cannot do something you should already know the answer. You have a long way to go before you can even begin to comprehend the power required to completely control me. And besides, you would only be able to control my chakra. I have no physical body for you to control, it is only my power, my own demonic chakra that you could control. It may be possible someday but there is a lot you have to realize before you can even begin to think about it.

Hmm, I guess he might have a point, but what does it take and why was he giving me so much warning? It's not as if it would overcome me. And with that thought I was transported into another memory of the past.

(Memory)

Pain. The agony was so immense that it burned as if the very fires of hell were searing my flesh, scorching it away layer by layer from the underlying tissue. Combined with the extreme burning sensation, I felt such rage that it had taken over my entire consciousness. I was unable to control my actions. I wanted to destroy everything and anything, if only to make the pain stop.

I found myself looking into the gloom of Kurama's prison. I could only assume that my consciousness was contained within the cocoon of light, suspended in Kurama's paws because I could also see the shape that my physical body had taken within the outside world.

I was a beast. I appeared to be a miniature version of Kurama without all of the fur. Four tails sprouted from my body which was burnt orange in color. I could smell the coppery scent that is found in blood… my blood. I was coated in it.

I found myself running on all fours towards a man who had the appearance of a snake. He stood stoically, waiting for me to approach.

The man was deathly pale and wore a purple eye shadow around olive green eyes which contained a narrow and snake-like pupil. The face was very thin, enough that one could see the dark groves created from the curvature of his cheekbones. His choice of dress could only be described as strange. He wore a cream-colored short-sleeved tunic over gray pants. A large bow created from rope decorated the back of his waist, as if he were a present and one that I seriously doubted anyone would want to open. He also wore a long-sleeved green shirt under his tunic which could also be seen underneath the scoop neck of the garment.

The man was doing things that would be enough to cause any sane person to have nightmares for years, but in my state of mind I was only focused on the destruction of this monster. He seemed invincible. Every time I landed what should have been a killing blow he seemed to vomit himself up in a new body.

After a series of attacks and counter attacks he finally spat up a sword from his mouth which stabbed into my abdomen, propelling me hundreds of feet away from the site of impact. To my surprise the sword didn't piece through the charka/blood cloak that surrounded my body. I did feel an increase in rage and let out the roar of a feral beast. It was the roar of an animal that found itself trapped in a corner, capable of doing anything to escape from its dire predicament.

The memory faded to black.

(End memory)

What the hell was that? I stopped on a branch directly above some of those abnormal humanoids but I paid them no heed. I was shaking so much that I had to stop and hold onto the truck of the tree to ensure my own safety.

What is it? Asked Kurama in a tone that might have had a hint of worry in it. I might have noticed had I been able to perceive the subtle nuance.

I just… saw a memory. I think I understand what controlling your chakra entails. I'm not sure if it's what I really want… I couldn't even control myself. I described the memory to him with as much detail as possible.

I think I know the event to which you are referring too. I can't say I was entirely helpful in preventing it nor that I wanted to. It's only when you are truly furious or knocked unconscious that you go into that mindless state. It's a defense mechanism but the consequences can be deadly. Now you know that you need to be utterly and a hundred percent in control of your own chakra so that mine does not overpower yours. If that does happen there will be no one to stop you and you would rein destruction upon everything, including anybody who might be important to you.

Though his words of caution should have acted as a deterrent from doing anything rash I couldn't help but remember the power that I had contained when I was in that state. I was indestructible. Hell, I had even been pierced by a blade with no signs of injury. If I could master this ability without any consequences I could defeat every single one of those inhumane monsters.

I understand now, but with your power I have a better chance of destroying all of those beings who only exist to cause mindless destruction. And, at the same time, I could save whatever race that might be here from being completely destroyed. I may be their only hope for survival.

I knew you would say that. Always the hero aren't you? Even with your memories gone you still hold the same crucial morals that will most likely end in our downfall. And to think you would have the nerve to bring me along for the ride! Arrogant humans! Always thinking that they can just control whatever power they want and use it however they want. Once a fool and always a fool, isn't that right kit?

I suppose, though I don't remember who I was before.

Trust me you haven't changed that much, the fox replied with as much petulance he could contain in the sentence.

At that moment all of the sound in the forest ceased.

A savage roar could be heard from the surrounding forest, causing birds to flock away from the noise while animals on the ground and in the trees scurried out of the vicinity. I felt an initial shock at the intrusion to the serenity of the forest until I realized that the inhuman noise might lead me to something, anything other than the monotony that I had been exposed to during the past week of nothing but trees and those blood-thirsty giants. In a flash of potential stupidity I quickly changed my trajectory to run towards the source of the noise.

Leaping through the trees I found that several branches had been snapped off at around fourteen meters in height. As I hurried towards the area where the sound had originated I also noticed a trail of corpses spewed along the ground. Random bodies could be seen with limbs torn from their sockets or as completely unrecognizable splatters of human remains which I could only assume had been caused from the careless step of one of the giants.

The closer I got towards the origin of the noise, the angrier I became at the sight that lay before me. I couldn't believe the destruction I was seeing. I began to feel the hot, painful sensation that I had felt in my most recent memory.

What are you doing? snapped Kurama, who could feel the subtle pull of his chakra as it was diverted and incorporated into mine.

I'm moving towards the source of the noise. I replied, knowing full well that this was not what the fox was referring to.

Calm down Naruto. I think you know what will happen if you don't. You are not ready for my chakra yet. You still have much to learn before you can guarantee that no injuries to yourself or others will occur. As much as it would thrill me to have you let me be in control, I can't help but think of the brokenness you would feel as a repercussion to any inadvertent accidents you may cause while under my influence.

I felt a sudden flash of the pain with the reoccurrence of the sensation I had felt from my memory, but seeing the corpses of fellow humans was enough to allow me to ignore Kurama's warning and continue to trudge ahead unimpeded.

I could hear the voices of humans. The language was not familiar but luckily I was still in the mindset that I could remember some of my training. Using a technique I had learned from Midori, who had warned me of possible language barriers, I was able to understand them in the most basic sense. When I listened I could distinguish the sounds of chaos, resulting from a sense of panic.

Around this time I noticed that there had been a mad dash of the humanoid beasts who seemed to be making their way towards the source of the noise as well. To prevent the loss of further human lives I picked up my pace, becoming a blur to any fellow humans among the branches of nearby trees, all the while noticing that a red shroud seemed to emanate around my skin. I pushed this information towards the back of my mind as I raced to see what the cause of this destruction was.

Finally, a clearing could be seen and I got my first glimpse of what I would soon know to be the true enemy of mankind. The giant appeared to be female and was, as I had estimated, fourteen meters tall. She was much leaner and contained a more muscular build then the monsters that I had previously encountered. Many other giants gathered around her and started to tear at her flesh, ripping muscles from the bone in a flurry of activity. Knowing the destruction that had been caused by those inhumane beasts I couldn't control myself as I charged head on into the herd of giants.

Stop this madness right now! Roared that all too familiar voice in my head. Kurama was easily ignored as I focused more intently on slaughtering every titan in my path to get to the one who had caused so much death.

I heard shouts of fear and disbelief as I appeared. I must have looked aflame but that didn't deter me from reaching the female in the middle. I slashed right and left, moving faster than I would have thought possible. I didn't bother to slash their necks, I simply crushed each giant to ashes with chakra claws.

The female, amidst all of the madness, was able to run away as the tethers that had previously held her in place were slackened. Upon later reflection I realized that I had helped to release the giantess from her cage through careless swipes of my extended paws. The cables were torn from her flesh and she escaped into the nearby forest while I enjoyed the sensation of destroying the very creatures who had been hunting me for the duration of my stay in this hellish place. I tore limbs from their torsos, decapitating every enemy I met.

After killing every beast in the vicinity I realized that my prey was no longer among those who had been slaughtered. I used my nose, which seemed to have been enhanced with the addition of Kurama's chakra, and followed the stench of death that lingered on the body of the giantess.

I must say that she was fast. Her body recovered from her injuries at an excelled pace, leaving her well enough increase her speed. I struggled to catch up with her, slowly advancing with every leap as I ran through the trees. Little did I know that along with my red cloak of chakra I had grown one tail, with the second one slowly forming next to the first.

Shortly after the chase had begun I began to hear the sound of hoof beats. Five horses were galloping as fast as they could with occasional backward glances from the mounted riders. I knew that I had to stop the female-type giant before she could cause any more deaths.

In an instant the head rider accelerated, leaving the four remaining horsemen behind. They proceeded to leap from their horses straight into the air on wires which connected firmly into nearby trees. Just as the female was about to grab one of them I finally caught up.

I extended my claws from the middle of my torso to grab on to her arm while she roared in rage. Glancing at me with hate filled blue eyes she tried to grab me, but I was much too quick. Reaching towards her neck I used all my strength to propel my claws towards her neck and… missed.

The area surrounding her neck was entirely encased in crystal, preventing me from penetrating the vulnerable flesh below. Using my momentary moment of confusion against me the giantess quickly snatched me and slammed me into a nearby tree.

This only served to enrage me even more, sure I was injured but this giant woman had just killed countless people on her quest for what? The what didn't really matter to me at the moment. All that mattered was that she had needlessly killed dozens of humans. I felt my vision turn into a red field of hate at the thought. I felt such an immense amount of loathing that for a moment I felt fear, fear of what I had become and of what I was capable of. This stopped the cloak from advancing into its third-tailed mode. Logic finally kicked in and I realized what I was doing. The pain from hitting the trunk had gone right to my head, allowing rational thoughts to seep through the cloud of hatred that had surrounded my every thought.

Before Kurama's chakra completely vanished I needed to stop the monster, but how? I went with the first idea that popped into my mind; remove the limbs.

With this goal in mind I was able to cling to the last reserves I had of Kurama's chakra as I excelled towards the muscular humanoid. Moving at maximum speed I was able to slice off her legs and arms before she had the chance to crystalize them.

With my strength gone and Kurama's chakra fully contained, I fell towards the forest floor as everything faded to black.

Naruto… Naruto…NARUTO, roared the demonic fox with impatience.

Ugh, what? I replied hazily.

You realize that what you did was extremely reckless don't you?

In after thought perhaps, but seeing all of those people, I couldn't control it. I've never felt so much anger towards another being before, human or nonhuman, or at least not that I can remember.

Realize this Naruto; you are more susceptible to being overcome with anger then the average human due to the influence of my chakra. You need to control yourself. But I must admit, stated the fox grudgingly, you do show promise…

I was surprised at that to say the least. I couldn't remember doing anything that was particularly good during my escapade as a rage-filled beast. The time I had been under Kurama's influence was a bit fuzzy. What exactly are you referring to?

The fact that you were able to stop the transformation from the two-tailed form into the three-tailed is reason enough to believe that perhaps you are not as easily influenced by my power as you once were. You might stand a chance of mastering my power; maybe even that of my most powerful form.

I'm just lucky I was thrown into that tree, I admitted. Things could have been much worse had I continued. The humans that I wanted to protect might have been injured or even killed by me. Oh yeah, that reminds me what happened to them? I must have blacked out, where am I?

Open your eyes and see for yourself. Now if you don't mind, I need to recover the chakra that you stole from me. I expect no interruptions from you, even in the most dire of situations.

I certainly didn't want to wake him up, he was always grumpy and complained too much when I did. And with that I opened my eyes.

There you have it. In the next chapter I will introduce some of the Shingeki no Kyojin specific characters I will be using for the duration of this story. Just a little something to look forward to!
