Chapter 3
Eagle woke suddenly. His eyes snap open and grow very wide. He decides not to get up yet, seeing as his side his flaring in pain. He stays in a laying position a little bit longer and then slowly sits up. No one but him is in his family's hut.
But hadn't he just been in the healer's hut? Must've been moved.
After a few more minutes, his side stops hurting just a bit. He slips off the edge of the bed and stands shakily on his feet. His stomach growls and his throat is raw and dry. Alright, first things first. Food.
Food always comes first. Then water.
Eagle walks over to the shelf looking furniture in the hut, grabbing some odd looking meat. He goes outside, drawing in a deep breath of the clean, great air blowing against his face. The sky are the colors of a deep red, mild yellow, and light orange. It makes the sky look as though it is on fire. The grass is a perfect shade of green, telling the world that they are juicy with water.
The teen steps towards the small spot where they usually do the fires at night or the middle of the day for food. He sits beside it, placing the meat on the top stick to cook.
Eagle looks at the meat and murmurs quietly, "Lets see if this works.", before flicking a stone against wood like his mom does it. Sparks fly as he continues and then a little flame lights the sticks, heating the meat.
Eagle smiles proudly. By then, the had gone down, showing off it's brilliant stars and moon. After waiting a bit, Eagle eats the meat. Then he stands. How could it hurt to take another look at the new comers? Nothing, right?
With those thoughts, Eagle begins the long trek back to the coast. Once a good walk away from the town, he sees someone he hadn't expected to be out and about herself ahead of him.
"Pocahontas?" Eagle said confused, looking up at her. "What are you doing out here?"
Pocahontas freezes. She turns and then relaxes upon seeing who it is. "Well, Eagle, I could ask you the same thing. Shouldn't you be with America?"
"Well, it's just that…" Eagle trails off. "It's just that I wanna go back to those strange people. Is that a bad thing?"
Pocahontas smiles, her details being shown in the star and moonlight. She crouches to his tiny height. "I do believe it is not such a bad thing to be curious of the visitors. So, I won't stop you if you don't stop me."
Eagle nods, mischievous grin growing. "Okay!"
Pocahontas pats his head and stands again. She turns and walks off.
Eagle jumps a little on his feet, watching where she'd gone for a bit. Then he walks off as well, going back the way he'd seen the strangers last. His side still hurts, but he can't feel it for he is to excited to care about pain right about now.
He looks through a bush, blue eyes slightly glowing in the eyes can just make out the movements of multiple people. His head tilts a little as they hit a tree with something. What are they doing to the tree? he wonders. It suddenly falls with a loud, almost saddening crash. His eyes widen. Why would they do that?
Eagle jumps a little and looks over his shoulder when there's a snap of a twig behind him. He turns, thinking Pocahontas had returned. He freezes when he sees the same man he'd seen before standing in front of him. He feels trapped with this man in front of him and the large group of men behind.
Eagle begins to tremble.
The man's emerald eyes grow wide as he stares down at Eagle.
Eagle turns to the right, about to run off when a hand wraps around his arm, causing him to go into a panic.
The man says something strange in a weird language Eagle's never heard before. But how's that possible? Eagle knows every single Indian language.
He begins to struggle but the hold only tightens. This causes Eagle to panic so much he begins to scream and starts to call out, "Bear! Pocahontas! Help! Help!"
The noise of trees suddenly stops and Eagle looks the way it had been coming. He looks up when there's faint rustling and relaxes. Thank goodness.
In all honesty, England has no idea to do right now. He curses silently when he realizes the other men have heard all of the commotion and are probably coming to investigate. He stands, and looks over at the construction sight of the settlement that is soon to be built. He tightens his grip around the child's arm as he struggles more.
England just wants to help the child, but doesn't know how. Besides, why is there just a random child out in the wilderness all by himself? Is it one of the savage's? No, it doesn't have the same look to them.
There's a sudden loud thump in front of the island nation and he turns to look just as a huge force impacts into his side, causing him to lose his hold on the child and to fall to his side.
England takes a second to catch his breath and twists his head. What he sees confuses him even more. Another child. And even more, it looks just like the first but a little bit taller and has violet eyes.
The new child is helping his obvious twin to stand. They have a quick exchange in a strange language. Oh god. Are they French? Has the bloody frog already began to explore around this area?
England quickly dismisses that idea. He knows a bit of French and he hears no words. Spanish? No, Spain is too busy with that land called Tejas.
Besides, how did the kid have that kind of strength to knock an empire off of his feet?
England gets back to his feet and the two teens return their attention to look at him. The newcomer narrows his eyes, making a glare England didn't know a child could produce.
The teens then turn and grab each other's hands. And before England can make out what's happening, they take off going at an unbelievable speed.
England's eyes widen in shock as they quickly disappear from sight. This is going to be a long ride.
