Chapter 4: A Trip to the Past Part I

(Disclaimer: I do not own Fushigiboshi No Futagohime (Gyu) or any of its characters, although I wish I did XD)

Hey guys! So sorry for the long update! I had the dreaded... WRITERS BLOCK. I feel like I've been neglecting Rein and Bright. Even though this is mostly a FinexShade fanfic, I want to tell what happened after Fine disappeared in Rein's point of view. So let's take a break from FinexShade and rendezvous with Rein! (This is dedicated to my best friend Sarah and all the other ReinxBright lovers.) This is a really short chapter. Don't worry, though! There's another one coming very soon! :)

-Spring Wishes

Rein's P.O.V.

My eyes opened to see Bright hurriedly brushing his teeth and combing his hair. I slowly sat up and yawned. I rubbed my sleepy eyes when Bright noticed I was awake.

"Why, good morning, Rein. I've got an early meeting with King Night today. I'm sorry that I have to leave you alone for awhile..." After frowning apologetically, he came up to me and kissed me on the forehead. I blushed madly and smiled.

"Good morning, Bright." This is like a dream! This was one of the things I fantasized about when I was nine. Before Fine was kidnapped. Then I shook my head and frowned. There's no time to think about that! Rein, you finally got your dream vacation! You can't waste it thinking about the past and dwelling on your twin sister's disappearance-

"Don't worry," Bright hugged me from behind. "We're on vacation. I want you to relax and enjoy yourself." I smiled.

"Thank you, Bright. How is it that you can always tell how I'm feeling?" I turned around and gave him a questioning look. He just smiled.

"Because you're always wide open!" I screamed as Bright lifted me up into the air and twirled me around. Then we both laughed and Bright put me down. There was a 'gazing into each other's eyes while slowly inching closer and closer and almost~'-

The door slammed open and Bright and I embarrassedly scooted apart, a blush creeping up both of our faces. Shade walked into the room (looking very ticked off), grabbed Bright by the sleeve and started to drag him out. Then he said, "May I remind you two not to get too ahead of yourselves. Bright, we are leaving. NOW." With that, a giant red anger mark appeared on my head. Ooohhhh Shade was asking for it. This rant may be long because I have a lot of stress building up. What? After Fine was kidnapped I could never really control my anger. Sorry, Shade, but you were asking for it. (A/N: Although I haven't read the manga(and never plan to anyway), I've seen a few pictures online. I think Rein did always yell at him and get mad at him for stuff. So I guess this is kind of like the manga. I dunno, just guessing)

"OH MY GOD SHADE. What the HELL is wrong with a 16 year old girl and her 17 year old BOYFRIEND kissing?! Tell me ONE GOOD REASON that that is getting 'TOO AHEAD OF OURSELVES'! You just need to GROW THE HELL UP! And why in the WORLD did you just think you could barge into our room like that, huh?! How did you even know that we were about to kiss, huh?! Were you watching us?! ARE YOU SOME SORT OF STALKER?! Ughhhhhhhh! Sometimes I wonder if you're one of those guys who stalked their girlfriend for years before ever even talking to them. OH WAIT, I FORGOT THAT YOU DONT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! HAHA! I tell you, it is your shady personality. Maybe you can get that little sister of yours to help you get one..."

I sighed, finally done with my rant. Shade clenched his fists angrily at the girlfriend part. Maybe I went a little too far...

"Well," Shade scowled and shouted, "At least I have a sister!"

Everyone in the room fell silent. My bangs covered my eyes and I looked away. Tears threatened to pour out of my eyes.

"Just go away already..." I said.

"Rein, I'm sorr-" Shade tried to apologize but I stopped him.

"Just leave me alone!" I ran past Shade and Bright. Tears were streaming down my face. Then, I ran and ran and ran until I couldn't run anymore.

I found myself standing at the gazebo. It wasn't surprising, really. This gazebo just calmed me, I guess. Panting, I leaned against the wooden railing and stared into the falling rain. More tears poured out of my eyes. Today was so much like that day... The day I lost my twin sister..

(A/N: Fine was kidnapped right after the first season ended. Therefore, Rein will tell the story in her 9 year old(I think) point of view. Thats what it said in the wiki. These are memories from right after Fine was kidnapped. Ok, ok, let the story commence!)

The elevator went up and up. My tiny fists banged against the glass. It made no difference. I screamed like a madman. Fine looked up at me one last time. Something cut her forehead and blood began to spill over her face. My eyes widened and tears began to pour out of my eyes. Fine was in so much pain and I couldn't do a single thing to help her. Fine was getting taken away and I couldn't do a single thing about it. How useless am I? I couldn't even see her anymore. The elevator reached the normal floor and opened. I kept screaming, banging the glass and crying. Then I heard Camelot's voice.

"Young lady! What on earth are you doing?! Why are you in the elevator to the restricted floor?! You're a mess!" It was true. My hair was frazzled, my dress was torn, I had scraped my arms and legs, bruised my fists, and tears were streaming down my face. While dragging me out of the elevator, Camelot came to a realization. "Rein... where's Fine?!" My eyes widened and I began to bawl louder. Just then the other princes and princesses came into the hall. That's right. We had a party planned today. (A/N: What bad timing! :P)

"Goodness, you two can never be on time! How come- Rein... are you... crying?" Altezza stopped dead in her tracks. Then all the others came into view. The moment they saw me, everyone came over (including the guards) and a chorus of questions erupted.

"What's wrong?"

"What happened?"

"Why are you crying?"

"Ba bu Ba ba bu ba bu Ba?!"

Then Shade broke through the crowd. Looks like he was the first to notice. After all, Fine and Shade cared deeply for each other(although they never knew it). "Rein... Where's Fine?!"

With that, I started to bawl even louder. Then I managed to say, "I'm so sorry! It was all my fault! I never meant to let Fine-"

Shade gripped my shoulders hard. He managed to let out a shaky voice. "Let Fine what?"

"I..." I gulped and tried to calm myself enough to speak about the horrible events that happened just a few minutes prior to current time. "I let Fine get taken away and beaten up by those men!"

Shade's eyes grew wide with fear. Then they became determined. "Where is she, Rein?"

"On the restricted floor..."

Shade ran to the elevator and pushed the button. Footsteps clattered as we saw the King and Queen of Sunny Kingdom approach all of us.

"Are you all alright?!" Mother said worriedly. I hugged her tightly.

"No, Mother. Nothing is alright!" The elevator came up and all the princesses and princes crowded inside.

"What are you doing?! None of you are allowed in there!" Father came towards us.

"Fine is being taken away down there!" Lione answered him.

Bright then said, "We have to save her!"

Father looked shocked and then shook his head. "Princes and princesses, I am very sorry but I will not allow you to come into harms way. Guards, seize them!"

(A/N: I really suck at writing fight scenes, so I'm gonna skip this one because it's not really important. Please don't hate!) The guards came at us, towering over our small figures. Then (insert fight scene blah here) blah blah blah banana blah.

"LET ME GO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" I cried as the two guards holding me dragged me away. I saw Shade getting pinned down(dog piled) by six guards. Bright, too. We were defeated. The guard went into the elevator and went down. But we had taken too much time. Deep in my heart, I knew she was gone. But I lied to myself. I told myself she would be okay. That she would just come up and ask for cake. That she would be the same Fine after this. That we would hug and be reunited. That everything would be alright.

But everyone knew that was a lie.
