"I canny wait tae see my mum and Dad. Oh there they are, see ya's" Bonnie ran off in one direction to a couple who didn't actually look like a couple. Both were stern looking professional people who clearly had no connection to each other than Bonnie herself and even then they looked nothing like her.
"Mum!" Jaz shouted and ran off in the other direction.
"See you later Em my parents are meeting me by the stairs." Once Erin was gone, Emerald was slap bang in the middle of the hall she couldn't see her mum anywhere suddenly she felt a presence behind her.
"Emerald, why are just standing there?" Constance questioned
"I guess my mum isn't here yet. I hope she got here, she says her work colleagues can be a right pain much better than the ones here" Emerald smiled.
"Really, well if I'm not much mistaken your mother is there" She pointed to the doors before disappearing to prepare for her appointments.
"Emmie, how are you?" Imogen smiled as she hugged her little witch.
"Oh mum you were so right, Cackles is brilliant everything you said and more, although there is no crazy chanting teacher." Emerald shook her head as they walked toward the P.E section.
Imogen thoroughly enjoyed catching up with her friends from cackles and reminiscing with her ex-pupil, Mildred.
"Oh Emerald is a joy to teach but has she always had the smoking problem?" Mildred inquired.
"What! Oh the sneezing thing, yes. I don't know what it is but I always assumed she'd grow out of it." Imogen seemed shocked but then realised what she was actually talking about.
"Ah, Imogen dear I wanted to talk about that problem, here take this number, it's a witch health clinic they should be able to help you and Emerald" Amelia smiled at the younger woman.
"Oh thanks Amelia. I'm guessing it has something to do with her Spell Born power's I hope it's not too serious." Imogen took the card and slipped it into her bag.
"Mum, this is my friend Bonnie." Emerald came over with a tall girl whose hair was a strange lilac colour.
"Hello, I'm Imogen. I like your hair." She smiled.
"Oh thanks its fae my mother's side, skips a generation so lucky ol' m'am" Bonnie laughed. Turning to see her mum behind her.
"Oh, this Emerald and her mam Imogen." Bonnie introduced them.
"Ah yes the girl with a non-witch parent. Very nice to meet you. Come along B, we have to go and see your form tutor, Miss Hardbroom" Mrs McBride nodded before swiftly moving on as Bonnie mouthed 'sorry'.
At quarter past seven Imogen and Emerald had finished their sweep of the hall and now had to wait for their appointment. They sat outside the potions room. Emerald swinging her legs and Imogen with her forearms rested on her knees.
"Mum, did you get on with Miss Hardbroom?" Emerald asked out of the blue.
"Erm…well we had differences that's certainly true. She can be difficult that's for sure" Imogen conjured up this answer on the spot which she thought was quite clever. 'Oh Emmie at one point me a Constance got on smashing but it had to end she just couldn't, oh I don't know why. Maybe I was overdramatic that day'
"DRILL" Miss Hardbroom came out at 7:25.
"I'm here, c'mon mum" Emerald happily walked into the room oblivious to the intense staring going behind her.
"You look well, I…Miss Drill" Constance attempted to be civilised.
"Thank you, you don't look to bad yourself, you can call me Imogen by the way, I don't mind." The shorter woman attempted a smile. Inside the classroom was tense Miss Hardbroom was as professional as she could be but Imogen could help but stare, the beauty of this woman had not changed.
"Overall your…Emerald is a student who has plenty of potential and I can see her going far in the world of potions. Did she tell you about her end of term assessment grade?" Miss Hardbroom asked
"No, she hasn't by what you've said I assume it was quite high." Miss Hardbroom nodded and proceeded to say highest in the class. "Well done sweetie." Imogen hugged her daughter and without thinking added "You get that skill from your other mother." Emerald's face lit up, she had always wanted to know more about her 'other mother' as it had been termed.
"Really. Do you think she'd be proud of me?" The young witch smiled widely at her mum.
"Yes, she would be very proud. Maybe we could meet her one day." Imogen slowly suggested sneaking a sly look at her ex-lover whose eyes lit up as if to say "Yes, I would love that"
"Well thank you both for this chat it has been lovely. It was nice to see you again, Imogen" The raven haired witch paused before adding her name at the end.
"You too. Emmie, sweetheart why don't you run along I just want a quick word with Constance…Miss Hardbroom" Emerald ran out the room to update her friends on meeting her other mother.
"Constance…I am sorry. I had no right to take Emmie out of your life, I was selfish and angry I know I shouldn't have done or let it go on for so long." Imogen looked out the window.
"I am sorry too. I was wrong to lock you out and be so narrow minded. I could have stood up for you. I was hurt you didn't tell me though and that you made Amelia hide it from me." Constance apologised.
"Don't you think I feel bad enough? I've had to raise her on my own…" she began
"That's your fault, you could have to come to me for help. You non-witches can be so stupid sometimes." The words tumbled out they weren't supposed to be mean but they sounded like that.
"Well not only am I overdramatic. I'm stupid too." Imogen's voice slowly raising.
"No! That is not what I meant. Please listen I don't want to argue, I have spent years not knowing I have a daughter Imogen, I would never call someone I love stupid."
"Y…You love me." Imogen was slightly dazed
"Every day since you left and before but, If you don't…
"No I do! I just assumed you didn't. You are right I can be so stupid, all these years I've worried about you not loving me, when all along you have. However I think if we were ever to be like we were it would take time and patience…from us both. What do you say, Connie?"

Author's Note: I'm so evil. As always though I do give you a spoiler so it's not THAT bad.
"Emerald sat on her bed thinking. What was going to do this was a massive surprise, or was it a disappointment"
