Chapter 4: The Shining Knight

The Lanes Between

There he was; racing through the lanes between. Headed to confront his former brother in arms, and was in high hopes of stopping the new tyrant Xehanort. This mission weighed heavily on his heart, but it was something that had to be done by him and him alone. As he sped to his destination Eraqus couldn't help but notice how wondrous and enchanting the lanes between looked. He had only heard stories from his master from when he was just an apprentice. He had longed of traveling it on his own, but now that he has, he just wishes that it was under better circumstances. Radiant Gardens was coming into view. It was almost time for Eraqus to face his destiny and time for Xehanort to face justice.

Radiant Gardens

As Eraqus touched down on the new world he couldn't help but notice how unchanged it looked. If he didn't know better he could swear that there wasn't a power hungry dictator using it as a home base. Eraqus dismisses his armor in a flash of golden light, along with his "steed". Even more disturbing is a lack of the darkness he should be sensing, but there's not even so much of as a flicker of it around. As strange as it was Eraqus had no time to waste, he had to find Xehanort quickly before anymore innocents were sacrificed for his crusade. He looked around in what seemed to be the town square. He had to admit this world looked peaceful. So peaceful in fact you could have sworn it wasn't serving as the base of an insane warlord. But Eraqus didn't let his guard down, if this world is under Xehanort's control then he's most likely being watched or monitored in some way. Having to watch his step, Eraqus carefully makes his way through the seemingly quiet town, keeping an eye out for anything that might point him in the direction of Xehanort. During his search he was alerted to the sound of angry yelling and frightened screams. No wait, not screams but….quacks?

"What in the worlds is that noise?" Eraqus asked out loud.

Hearing the disturbance again he was able to pinpoint the noise coming from one of the nearby alleys. And as if on cue the ones making all this ruckus revealed themselves when they came running out of the alley. The first to come out was not what Eraqus was expecting. Instead of a person what came scrambling out was…

"A duck?" Eraqus asked with a truly dumbfounded look on his face.

This was a duck he saw, but a strange one at that: This duck was about 3 ft. tall carrying a brown cane with a curved handle, wearing a monocle, a top hat with a red band, and a blue petticoat with golden buttons. This man-duck seemed very fancy. But his demeanor sure wasn't, especially with him being chased. As soon as he came into view the duck man spotted Eraqus instantly and scurried over to him and hid behind his leg. This duck was truly afraid for his life. As he was cowering behind Eraqus he stared into his eyes and began pleading for help.

"Please laddy you've got to help me! These buggars, they're trying to do away with me!" The duck man pleaded in a peculiar accent. Eraqus was confused.

"They? They who? Who is chasing you?" he asked worryingly.

His question was immediately answered when the pursuers finally caught up gasping for air.

The duck man let out a small gasp and once again hid behind Eraqus. Once they got closer it was made all too clear about who they were. There was two of them, both of them dressed in black cloaks with huge hoods hiding their faces. On the top of their hoods, there was a symbol that Eraqus recognized all too well.

It was the token of Xehanort's keyblade; these were his men.

This was bad, Eraqus had finally found evidence of Xehanort's presence on this world, but he wasn't prepared for facing his followers in a direct confrontation.

But Eraqus couldn't think about that now, right now he had to figure out what Xehnaort wanted with this duck. He stepped in between the duck and the looming strangers.

After catching their breathes one of them stepped forward.

"What do you want with the duck, and why are you chasing him?" Eraqus questioned.

No answer. The stranger just stared at Eraqus. Maybe they didn't hear him?

"I asked you why you were chasing him!" he stated.

The stranger still said nothing, but instead of staying motionless the stranger reached for their hood, and pulled it back to reveal their face, and to show the face of a beautiful woman with a steely look in her eyes. The look in her eyes was not one of malice or hatred, but there was a strong sense of indifference, and...boredom? Her expression was cold, but her appearance wasn't. She possessed eyes that were the equivalent of two endless azure oceans. With her hair matching the color of her eyes, it stretched down to the middle of her back in one long braided pony tail, tied off with a white lacey ribbon. Her skin was a pearl white, and her lips were glossed over with ice blue lipstick and had a small beauty mark on the lower left side of her mouth. An enticing visage of beauty that betrays the lethality that lies beneath it. She couldn't be more than 22 years old, but Eraqus could tell she possessed great skill.

Not having the time for a confrontation, Eraqus needed to find a way to get past her and her accomplice before he lost Xehanort's trail. He slowly started walking towards the silent woman, while she never took her eyes off him. Stopping after taking four or five steps, Eraqus positioned himself in front of the mystery woman.

'Maybe I can reason with them, or work out some kind of arrangement.' Eraqus thought.

"Listen I was hop-" FWASSH!

In a split second reaction Eraqus parries the blast and leaps back several times to gain a good distance. The little duck man scurries behind Eraqus' leg once more for safety. Eraqus looks around to assess the damage from his parry. He turns to see one of the small waterfalls in the town square had been frozen solid mid-stream, with little shards of ice protruding out from all sides. Eraqus whips his head back to his attacker to see that she still had ice vapor seeping from the palm of her hand, making it evident that she was the culprit. The duck man stuck his head out from behind Eraqus; looking up he starts tugging on his robe to get his attention.

"Ya see laddie!? She's an ice cold witch! literally! They dunna care who gets in their way. They'll kill ya just as soon as they'll look at ya!" he yelled.

That earned him a glare from the silent woman. He gave a quick yelp when their eyes met. She started to take a step towards them. Eraqus tensed up and readied his guard when she did.

Before she could take a step, she was stopped by a hand on her right shoulder. It was the other hooded person holding her back.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa, lets take it easy." He said chuckling.

'So this one's a man.' Eraqus confirmed in his head after hearing his voice.

The stranger pulled his hood back to reveal his face. "Boy these things are hot." he commented while wiping his face with his sleeve.

With his face revealed Eraqus looked him over to assess how much of a threat he could be.

The stranger was surprisingly bald for a man his age, which looked to be about 25. The only hair he had was his eyebrows, which was a fiery red, and with his eyes possessing a bright orange tint to them. Although he was bald his head wasn't without traits. On the left side of his head you could clearly see a bright red flame tattoo with a winking smiley face with its tongue sticking out. He also possessed a black lip ring on his lower lip. He started walking forward towards Eraqus.

"Sorry about that, my silent friend is a little impatient sometimes. She just got a little...excited." he explained.

Eraqus gave only a raised eyebrow at this.

"Let me introduce myself. The name's Scourge. I am the 13th disciple under Master Xehanort. One of the select few taken under his wing to receive his guidance and training first hand." he said a bit snooty as he gave a courteous bow.

After bowing he twirled around to gesture at the woman standing behind him.

"And possessing the rank of 12th disciple, we have the silent, the deadly, the lovely, deep breath SASHA!" he announced flamboyantly.

Eraqus could only stare; being confused and a bit of amazed he watched as Sasha bowed slightly as her name was called. After a few moments, he snapped back to reality to process everything that just happened.

"Wait...disciples? 13? Master? What has Xehanort been up to this last year?" Eraqus pondered. "Taking on apprentices? He was only 2 years out of training himself, what experience does he have in mentoring someone?"

These questions racked Eraqus' brain; searching desperately for a reasonable answer. But that had to wait, he had to deal with the situation at hand. He put his attention back on the two "apprentices".

"Well now that that's out of the way, let's get down to business...Master Eraqus." Scourge said as he was circling him.

Eraqus' eyes went wide at this.

"That's right, we know exactly who you are, why you're here, who sent you; all of that good stuff. But what we didn't know was when you were coming so we weren't really sure on how to greet you when you got here." he smirked.

"However, after careful consideration by our master, he decided it was best that we simply be ready to receive you." Eraqus narrowed his eyes as he followed Scourge.

"How long have you known I was coming?" he asked.

"Days." responded Scourge. "We've known for days."

"And I know what you're thinking. If we've known for so long why didn't we set traps for you? Well, how should I answer this?" he said snidely.

Snap. His fingers clicked, and as if on cue a dozen of Xehanort's followers started running out of the surrounding buildings. They surrounded the group completely, walling them in. Scourge began walking until he was directly in the middle of the circle.

"Now here's what's going to happen: You come with us, quietly, and we take you to see our master."

"Or..."

Eraqus began clenching his hands into fists until you could hear his knuckles pop.

"We could beat the hell out of you until you beg for mercy." he said with a bit of scowl and a low growl in his throat.

Scourge flicked his wrist, and in a flash of flames a small combustion happened in his hand. The flames stretched out two feet in front of him, taking a more solid form to show the shape of a keyblade. It was a brilliant scarlet all around to the hilt. The guard was a complete spiky circle with a black grip in the middle. The teeth was so jagged and sharp that it looked like it was made for slashing instead of cutting. And his key-chain was the same as his tattoo, except instead of a winking smiley face, it had a sinister smile with sharp teeth.

"Personally I like option two."

Eraqus responded in part by summoning his own keyblade, gripping it tightly. He began edging his way towards Scourge to close the distance between the two.

"We don't have to do this, we can discuss this without anybody being hurt." Eraqus attempted to reason.

"Yeeeeeeeah, but, I have a nagging feeling that master Xehanort would appreciate it a lot more if I brought you in unconscious. Less chance of you resisting ya know?" Scourge's Keyblade then ignited, engulfing itself in fire.

"So if you don't mind, get ready to get bur-" FWASSSH!

In a white powdery flash Scourge was struck in the chest by an ice spell.

"Arrrgh! WH-WHO DARES!" Scourge started looking around frantically, hastily searching for the imbecile with a death wish who would dare strike out at him. "Show yourself coward, so I can char your bones!"

Eraqus was shocked as well, he couldn't discern who would attack him like that. He shot a glance towards his little friend behind his leg.

"Don't be looking at me laddie! I can't do nun o' that fancy magic!" he said panicked.

"Rrrrrgh when I found out who hit me I'm gonna ki-" FWASSH!

This time the blast took him off of his feet, and barreling towards a wall, pinning him to a nearby wall in a thick layer of ice.

"AAAHHH SON OF A HEARTLESS!" he said with his body racked in pain. The ice stung him, clinging to his skin and burning him with sub-zero temperatures. This time it was all to clear about who attacked him as she strode over to where Scourge was originally standing, while she stood over him in annoyance.

"You talk too much." she said annoyed.

"Sasha? How dare you betray me!? You traitorous bi-mmmmmph!?" he was cut off with an ice spell to the mouth, stopping him mid-sentence.

"Don't be stupid. I'm only doing what the master taught us. 'If you see a chance for yourself to gain favor, do not hesitate to act'". She stated. "Or do you not remember?"

Eraqus was puzzled, why would she turn on him like that? This question was shared by the surrounding troops.

"Why would you turn on your friend like that? Are you defecting against Xehanort?" he asked hopefully. She turned towards Eraqus with a scoff.

"Please. I'm doing this for me, and only me. In case you haven't noticed we're not friends, we're...coworkers. Just because we work together, doesn't mean we like each other." She said as she folded her arms . "Among the disciples, the first thing you have to learn is to look out for yourself and worry about others later."

"Even if that means betraying your comrades?"

"Of course. You can't be the strongest if you're busy being concerned about others well being."

Eraqus was disgusted with her attitude. Is this really what Xehanort's been teaching them? He couldn't believe how low he's sunk. Sasha began twirling her ponytail in boredom. She then shot Eraqus a glance.

"But knowing someone like you, you're probably all for sticking up for others and all that junk, living by the old code and sticking to tradition. Just a great big boy scout." she said in an almost teasing way.

"But that's okay, because to be honest we could use someone like yourself." She started strolling up to Eraqus in a confident, almost sultry walk. This was highly suspicious in the worst way to Eraqus.

"You see, unlike Scourge over there." She said as she motioned to him while leaning on Eraqus' shoulder. "I recognize potential when I see it. You would be a great addition to Xehanort's forces. Who knows? Maybe he might make you second in command because of, you know, you guys being best friends and all."

She then put her lips near his ears, almost touching.

"After all, he does nothing but talk about you." she said in a whisper.

"If anything I bet we're just alike." She said with a sly grin.

Eraqus then shoved her off of him in a fit of rage. She then stumbled back out of shock from the surprising move. When she regained her composure, he flitted over in front of her before she could even blink.

"Listen you spoiled, brainwashed, petulant little brat! Don't you ever say we're alike! Don't say we're chums, comrades, pals, or anything! I'm here to bring my friend back before he causes anymore damage and makes things worse for himself! And thanks to manipulable sheep like you, you've done nothing but fan the flames of this entire charade you call a crusade!" Eraqus shouted in a festering rage that's clearly been held back since this entire thing began.

"Now unless you can tell me where to find him ,kindly, GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!!" Eraqus finished breathing heavily.

Sasha could only stare at the fuming Eraqus, highly surprised that the quiet, and seemingly reasonable man, just exploded like that. Her eyes opened more slightly than their originally more glazed look. After several moments of holding a surprised gaze, she brought her lips together to form a word.

"Bwahahahahaaa!"

Eraqus could only stare in the deepest of confusion. Why was she laughing? And isn't this a little out of character for her?

"Hahaha gasp just when I thought I had you figured out haha, you catch me completely off guard haha! Whew!" she said barely able to breathe. "I mean, who would've thought that you had the balls to snap at me like that?" Sasha rose from her seated position and began dusting off her cloak nonchalantly. As she did her smile slowly started to fade.

"I mean, even after I volunteered to take you to my master, and offer you a place in our organization, YOU snap at ME and PUSH ME AWAY!?"

Her expression shifted quickly into one of extreme annoyance and frustration. Her anger was made evident by the swirling energy of magic taking place around her feet. It then began to rise forming a wide funnel around her, with her standing in the eye of the tornado; the very air around her began to freeze until it became a flurry of snow and ice dancing around her. Sasha flexed her fingers and in a blinding white flash, a crystalline figure made of about 3 ft. of ice, appeared in Sasha's hand. With the item in hand, she smashes it against the ground, shattering the icy casing surrounding it to reveal her keyblade's true form. The shaft was a gleaming sky blue, while the guard was surrounded in a fluffy snow white ring looking as if it were made from the fluffiest cotton. She gripped the silver grip in the middle very tightly. The teeth were in the shape of an intricately made snow flake, but upon closer inspection the snow flake had the shape of a circular saw with with even tinier blades surrounding it. And her key chain token was in the shape of a snow angel holding a scythe in its hands.

"Big. Mistake." she stated with animosity.

In a flurry of white powdery snow, Sasha seemed to vanish as she charged towards Eraqus. Both of their blades clashed in a flash of sparks as the enchanted metal collided with each other. While engaged in their struggle Eraqus looked into the eyes of his opponent and met her gaze, he could see the fury in her. She was not merely angry, she was filled with the malice of any woman that is spurned. She was not used to being denied what she wanted; something she swore she wouldn't let happen. Now that Eraqus has made her break that oath, she was ready to make him feel her scorn. Sasha jumps back and releases a barrage of ice spells at him. Taken by surprise Eraqus throws up a barrier spell at the last second, catching most of the spells. Most of them. One spell slipped through his hastily constructed barrier, and struck him on his left shoulder.

"Ahhg!" Eraqus cried out.

After reeling from the attack, Eraqus readies himself for the next attack not wanting to be caught off-guard. Sasha charges him again ready to use the same tactic, but is thrown off balance when eraqus parries her strike as soon as they connect. Sasha stumbles behind him as she is parried, bit quickly regains her footing and returns to her stance.

"Hmph." she says defiantly.

Eraqus raises his keyblade in front of him to signify that he was ready to continue dueling.

"Looks like your "master" didn't teach you as well as I thought he did. And what did you hope to accomplish by using the same attack? An amateurish mistake, even for a so-called disciple." he said talking down to her.

"Just wanted to make sure weren't as weak as I think you are." she replied.

"After all it's not everyday I get to fight Eraqus the "Shining Knight"."

Eraqus narrows his eyes.

"What's the matter? Don't like your name? That's what the recruits call you around here, you know. Like you're some kind of boogeyman or something." she spits at the ground as she motions to the surrounding men as she says this.

With no hesitation, Sasha quickly draws a wide magic circle in front of her and aims it at Eraqus. The temperature in the air drops as she casts her spell.

"Take this! Blizzaga spell number 42: Glacia!", she yells as she unleashes her frozen magic towards her opponent.

A thirty-foot glacier barrels towards Eraqus at high-speed. With little time he gets into a stance only used by the most skillful of wielders. The young master takes his blade by his side and grips it with both hands, and gets into a wide stance. He closes eyes and focuses as best he can while putting all his effort into executing this technique. All the while the giant glacier Is getting closer and closer to its target.

'Just a little longer' Eraqus thought.

Right as the giant hunk of ice is about to make contcat with Eraqus, he opens his eyes.

"Now!" he says to himself. He grips his keyblade tightly and unleashes his attack.

"Zantetsuken!" he announces.

As he calls out his attack, he rushes forth with blinding speed and slashes his blade towards the ice. After getting past the ice, he rushes towards Sasha with his blade aimed right at her abdomen. Sasha looks down in disbelief at how he reached her so fast, much less how he got past her attack.

"H-how did you..." she said shocked.

As she she was questioning at how he was unscathed, she could hear a loud grinding/crackling sound. She looked past Eraqus at her created iceberg and saw it had a fine but visible line going through it diagonally. The top half of the ice began sliding off of its axis and slid toward the ground. The giant chunk hits the ground with a loud thunk and slowly starts to crumble to pieces. The bottom half of the glacier has a clean cut surface that shines in the light as to testify at how clean the slice was.

"That's a master-level technique." she whispered to herself.

"All of you leave. Immediately." he said to the men still watching the fight.

"Surrender. Now. And tell me where he is." he said with almost deadly intent with his eyes locked on her.

Sasha could see she was at a disadvantage, and of how much a power gap there was between them. A true master, and a crazed disciple. But no matter how much she wanted to resist she knew she'd be overpowered immediately. Still. This was Sasha, the queen of stubborn and hardheadedness. She stared straight back into Eraqus' eyes.

"...Hail Xehanort." she said with a sneer.

Eraqus closes his eyes.

"Spell of light number 6: Lux Pulse." he said with a low voice.

A ball of white light forms into a ball at the tip of his keyblade and grows to the size of his fist.

"Release." he commanded.

The ball of light implodes itself and after a moment of silence, an explosion of energy shoots forward into Sasha's stomach. The light passes through her but from the look on her face she could feel the impact. Her eyes flew open, and grew wider than saucers while her mouth shot open as she let out a deep wheeze as the air is knocked out of her. She collapses to the ground as she slowly loses consciousness. Eraqus watches with regret as she passes out. Sasha rolls onto her back and looks up at him.

"I'm sorry for this; all of this." he apologized.

She looked at him for a moment then slowly smiled as she began chuckling to herself.

"Don't be sorry, because you know what? I was right, about you and me? We're just alike. Only someone ready to do what it takes to get what they want would do what you did. Wheeze, cough, cough."

She motions for Eraqus to come to her. He hesitantly complies with her request and he kneels down beside her. She motions for him to come closer once more. Eraqus brings his face close enough to hers that their noses almost touched. Her hand shoots towards him and grabs his collar. She lifts her head up and presses her lips against his passionately. Eraqus' eyes shoot open with unbelievable shock and disbelief. After a moment or so she releases her lip-locked captive. Eraqus reels back unable to comprehend what just happened.

"Hahahaa-*cough* looks like you're not such a boy scout after all" she said weakly.

She then closed her eyes as she passed out from the exhaustion of keeping herself awake. A chuckle escaped before she passed out.

"The castle."

Eraqus could only stare at the unconscious girl, as she laid there with a small grin on her face. He rose from from his kneeling position, and stood up to scan his surroundings.

"What did she mean the castle?" he asked himself.

"I think she be talkin' bout the castle that reside in the center of town laddie." the mysterious duck said as he came out of his hiding place. Where ever that was.

"Castle? What castle?" asked Eraqus?

"The castle lad, it lies beyond the gate if ye can get past it."

"Are you okay my friend? I lost sight of you during the conflict."

"I be fine lad, thanks to ye that is, don't know what I would've dun without ye!" he said gratefully. "If there be anythin' I can do for ya, ye just name it."

"Well, for one I'd like to know your name." Eraqus answered.

"Ach! Of course, how daft could I be, hoho! The name be Scrooge. Scrooge Mcduck!" said Scrooge.

Eraqus smiled at making a new friend.

"A pleasure. You can call me Eraqus." he said as he extended his hand towards his new friend. Scrooge shot both his hands forward and shook Eraqus' vigorously causing his whole body to shake.

"Nice to meet ya laddie haha!"

"So about that castle you mentioned?" Eraqus inquired.

"Oh, right. It lies past the gate that protects it, but be warned lad. Nobody gets past it but Xehanort's boys." Mcduck advised. "You'd hafta get past his guards, and even if ye made it past them ye'd have to deal with a whole legion of his followers! Crazy gits."

'So even though he knows I'm coming, he'd still put me through all this. What game is he trying to play?' Eraqus pondered.

Scrooge stared at Eraqus for moment before deciding to get his attention.

"Uhh laddie? Ye okay?" he asked a little worried.

Eraqus looked up shaken from his train of thought.

"Oh, yes I'm fine." he answered even though truthfully he wasn't.

Eraqus knew that his and Xehanort's reunion was drawing closer and it wouldn't be an easy task to reach him. But he remembered the promise he made to himself and his brother. Xehanort was coming home.

Whether he liked it or not.

Eraqus turned to face his friend.

"Thank you for your help my friend, but now it is time for me to go. You should leave as well, unless you want more followers chasing after you. Which I'm sure we both don't." said Eraqus.

Scrooge tilted his to the side and gave him a confused look.

"What do ye mean lad? Gasp Don't tell me ye be meaning to go to the castle!? That'd be suicide!"

"Of course. I thought that was obvious?" Eraqus said with a raised eyebrow.

"Look I know how good ya are lad, but to go against Xehanort's forces alone? That's just crazy! Why would ye be wanting to do that?" he asked panicked.

Eraqus turned towards the direction of the castle.

"My friend is...he's in trouble. A lot of trouble." Eraqus said while clenching fist. "And it's my job to bring him back home before he gets into even more trouble."

Eraqus closed his eyes and took a deep breath and opened them once again. He then turned back to Scrooge with a serious look. Scrooge saw this and sighed.

"I see. One has to look out for one's friends don't they?" Scrooge walked up and patted him on the back and looked up at him. "Ye've gotta good heart Eraqus mah boy. Stubborn. But good."

Scrooge reached into his pocket and began fishing around. He pulled out what appeared to be a dark yellow gourd -like bottle. He smiled as he looked at it, then at Eraqus as he handed it to him.

"Here." he said.

"What is it?"

"Something you're goin' to need if you're serious about storming the castle lad. It's an extremely rare item that I keep for emergencies, but... it seems like ye need it moir than I do."

Eraqus takes the gift from Scrooge and looks it over.

"Usually I don't give away expensive luxuries like this, but something about ye Eraqus made me think otherwise. Heh if only mah nephew could be more like ye." He takes his cane and points it at Eraqus. "Promise me that ye'll use it if things get too hairy for ye boyo."

Eraqus places a hand on Scrooge's shoulder and gives it a small grip.

"I promise. And thank you." he said gratefully.

Scrooge gives him a big smile in response.

"Hehe!" he chuckles loudly. He spins around and walks away while twirling his cane.

"Good. Now go get 'em mah boy!"

Eraqus stores his new provision, and begins walking toward the gate that separates him from his goal. As he approached the gate he could see its grand stature, and how intimidating it looked. He was beginning to understand why Scrooge was so adamant about coming here. When he reached the entrance he immediately felt a sense of urgency come upon him. In an instant Eraqus was surrounded by more of Xehanort's men. Eraqus immediately leapt into action. He summoned his weapon and threw it towards the nearest aggressor and watched as it made contact with and knocking him back several feet. He spun around and pointed his palm to the enemies on his rear.

"Light Spell number 01: Solaris flare!" he announced.

A blinding flash erupted from his palm, lighting up the surrounding area. His enemies felt the effects of the light which was comparable to that of a small sun sting their eyes and blind them. After handling them he set his sights on the rest of the group ready to continue fighting to get past them and enter the gate. Eraqus summons his keyblade once more and readies himself. The remaining enemies began approaching him to surround him.

'If this is what it takes to reach you Xehanort then so be it.' he thought determined.

"Stop!" an unknown voice yelled out.

Eraqus stopped and looked for the source of the voice. As he was trying to place the voice he couldn't help but notice something strange about it.

"Up here!" the voice called out again.

Everyone looked up to the top of the wall where there stood a lone figure with their face covered.

"It's okay, he is allowed to pass."

"On whose orders!?" the henchman questioned.

"Funny you should ask." the stranger chuckled.

'Wait a minute that voice...it's so familiar.' Eraqus thought.

The stranger crouched down as he looked at Eraqus.

"Eraqus...it's been too long old friend. Faaaaar too long."

'No! It couldn't be!' Eraqus shouted in his head.

The stranger pulls back his hood to reveal his identity to all, and only to reveal himself to be...

"Xehanort!" Eraqus shouted in shock.

Xehanort smiles with pleasure.

"Hello Eraqus...my friend."
