A/N: Hey... sorry this took so long . got grounded ugh. I'm so excited to finally be close to getting this over with. These are harder than you think .

ANYWAY New Chapter!

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third was, for the umpteenth time in his life, very confused. He would never understand Astrid. The more he tried to make sense of her intentions, the less he understood.

Hiccup was never one to be so serious, but lately he found that more people treated him with respect if he acted like his father.

And it was working.

Except on one person.

And that was Astrid Hofferson.

Astrid was acting strange. Then again, Hiccup was acting strange.

Their tension was not left unnoticed by the other teens. Fishlegs barely looked up, but Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thortson sure did.

Hiccup knew that they were up to something, but he couldn't for the life of him figure out what it was. Between Astrid and the twins, plus Snotlout, he was totally exhausted.

He didn't think his brain could take much more thinking, especially with the way that Astrid went from sending him adoring looks to looks that could kill.

Contrary to her belief that dragons were all he thought about, Hiccup thought about Astrid quite a lot, and he thought for a while that she might, just maybe be returning the favor, but the last time she showed any displays of real, true affection was when he helped her right her family name.

From then on it was all business. One objective: protect Berk.

No room for anything else.

No time for anything else.

And, despite his thoughts of Astrid, the only thing that he could manage to understand was that. And that was the only thing that he would act on.

One objective: Protect Berk, and that was all. That was all he needed, and that was all he could do.

Hiccup sat down on the floor in his room next to Toothless, drawing. He was drawing Astrid riding Lightstorm... yet again. He had a whole notebook dedicated just to Astrid... and her dragon of course. He had them doing different things. Astrid would be laughing, annoyed, angry, hopeful, relieved, and a heck of a lot more.

Hiccup sighed, and left his book on his bed and walked to the window. Something moved and caught his eye. That he saw the twins sneaking around. He cocked his head to the side and watched them carry a barrel of... stuff around. He couldn't see what the stuff was, he just knew it was new. He hadn't seen it before.

Then another note flew from the sky. Dang it! He grabbed it when it flew in his window and started to read:

Hiccup,

three words... do some push-ups... you will thank me in the future ;)

Crazy-Shananagins

Technically that was four words, but he hardly cared. Even if he did do push ups, and he'd definitely tried before, it wouldn't make a difference. He had always, his whole life, never been able to get fit.

Astrid had never been that big either, but she at least had coordination. And... he was thinking of Astrid again. Perfect.

Another letter flew in and hit him on the ear. He yelped and held his ear while picking up the letter.

Yo Hiccup!

Why so serious? Astrid is worrying about you and you're annoying her with this stoic behaviour. Now we don't want Astrid mad at you do we? Make a move and kiss her first! She won't kill you, she'll love it!

Sincerely, Zariast

Hiccup facepalmed. He... couldn't! Just couldn't. Could he? He groaned and decided not to think about it. He went over to Toothless.

"You up for a midnight flight, bud?"

.o.O.o.

Meanwhile...

"Hehehe... We are so awesome." Tuffnut and Ruffnut banged helmets before grinning. They had gotten a letter earlier that went a little something like this:

Ruff/Tuff,

Cause some more crazy shananagins make life super fun :D

Crazy-Shananagins

And another that went like this:

Hey Ruff and Tuff!

May I just tell you how cool it is when you guys hang upside down and the rafters? Can you teach me the flip trick? The one where you bend up and jump off the bar yet still land on your feet perfectly. I've tried to do it several times but I keep landing on my face (the dirt is soft though). Maybe you guys are just awesome that way.

Zariast

P.S. Tuff will you go out with me please? I have supercool exploding fireworks.

Tuffnut, after reading this, decided to put some thought into it, but it wasn't long before he said yes, and gloated to his sister for the next hour that he had a girlfriend.

But now, they had gotten the idea to shoot some explosions into the air called fireworks, but they would save it for tomorrow. They were just getting set up.

Tomorrow would be exciting.

.o.O.o.

Hiccup looked at the sunrise with defeat. Toothless looked at Hiccup with pain filled eyes, as if he understood what was happening (And he did).

Another letter flew in front of Hiccup's face, but he didn't bother to grab it, knowing it would just fall into his hands. He'd received about 50 messages last night, all telling him to make a move on Astrid, like give her flowers, or something else. Hiccup doubted Astrid would even like flowers. He doubted flowers even grew on Berk. He was very, very conflicted.

He dutifully opened the letter and started reading.

Dear Hiccup

Relax. I am not a crazed fangirl who thinks you need to make a move on Astrid immediately. Stay at your pace. Get her something sincere and ask her out for some riding. Meatlug can watch Toothless's and Lightstorm's babies. Also relax around your friends and family. Though your father wants you to take more responsibility, he probably wants you to do it your own way.

Hiccup sighed. Yet another message about Astrid. He was really getting tired of this, and he'd stayed up all night with not a wink of sleep. And Toothless had done the same. They were both tired.

He and Astrid usually flew their dragons all the time. It was just something they did. Asking her to go flying would be normal. He considered drawing her, but he'd done that multiple times, and he definitely wasn't smooth when he talked to her. Hiccup was an absolute screw up. He walked to a nearby tree, and banged his head against it once.

Then it came to him. He knew exactly what to do... sort of... but it was the best he could come up with, so he would save it for tomorrow.

He finally relaxed, suddenly very tired. He was going to bed now that his mind was at ease... finally.

Next Chapter: Ending. (Letters to Toothless, Lightstorm, Dot, Astrid, and/or Hiccup... Basically main characters)
