"Invitation to Princess Bubblegum's Party"

Finn keeps reading the words over and over again. They seem to have locked themselves to his eyes and made him couldn't believe himself any longer. His hands shake violently as they hold two pink envelopes. Seriously, he couldn't believe his own eyes anymore.

He receives the envelopes just this morning, and by the time he realizes what they actually are, the time seems to stop, leaving him with his own thoughts.

'Forget her.' He thinks. 'Forget her. Forget her. Forget her.'

"Invitation to Princess Bubblegum's Party"

The words seal themselves on his eyes once more.

'She doesn't like you back, Finn. It's just a one-side feeling you have for her.'

"Invitation to Princess Bubblegum's Party"

The words win at the end and Finn groans in defeat. Sweats run down his forehead like a stream as he tries his best to catch up with what is happening. His hands are still gripping tightly on the envelopes. He wants to throw them away and enjoy the rest of his day so badly, but something in him seems to refuse.

He puts a hand over his forehead and sighed.

"Okay Finn, okay, you are now having two envelopes from a princess that you have no chance to be with. She ignored you completely… and now she is inviting you to a party. Gosh, this is so complicated."

"Then she didn't really dump you, doofus."

Marceline's words suddenly come to his mind. His mind snaps and he keeps repeating them in his head. Maybe she's right. If he couldn't be with her then… then they could still be friends like they always do. Yes, maybe that is the best option for him in this case. Sometimes, letting things be like they always are is better than changing them.

Finn exhales and smiles gently. "Alright. From now on, let me just ignore these feelings and tried to be my old self again. Let me just be an old Finn the Human again."

He looks down one envelope and opens it. "Okay, the party would start at 8.30 PM tonight at PB's castle in Candy Kingdom. Got it."

He then calls aloud. "Jake! Jake! Where are you?"

"What is it, Finn?" Jake runs up to him shortly after with his hand holding a half-eaten sandwich. "I'm trying a new sandwich I just made until you called."

"PB invited us to her party tonight. Wanna come with me?" Finn shows him the invitations. Jake looks at them for a while and shakes his head.

"Oh, sorry Finn. I have a date with Lady Rainicorn then. We're gonna go see the stars together."

"Really? Man…" Finn sighs. "I'll get someone else then."

"I have to say no, doofus." Marceline says as she shakes her head. "I'm busy tonight."

"What?! You rarely get busy, why now?!" Finn says.

Marceline just shrugs her shoulders.

"Do I really have to waste this thing…?" Finn looks at the other envelope he is holding. Marceline wanders her eyes as she thinks until she comes up with something.

"Oh, why don't you get Twig? He would really like to go with you, I'm pretty sure."

Finn's eyes light up when the boy is mentioned. "That's right! Why haven't I thought of that? We can spend more time together!"

"I'll get him for you then. What time does the party start?"

"8.30 PM."

"Alright, come back at that time and pick him up."

"So… a party, huh? I love party! Where is it, Finn?" Twig asks excitedly as they walked beside each other. "Is it a scary cave? Or is it a new forest both of us haven't known yet?"

"Actually, it's at Candy Kingdom." Finn replies. "The princess who holds the party is Princess Bubblegum, my friend."

"Oh." Twig says. "I wasn't expecting to go to a castle, but that sounds kind of fun. It's good to try out new kind of place, ya know."

Finn just chuckles and they continue their walking. After a few seconds, they reach the castle. There are a lot of colorful decorations hung everywhere, the long tables are covered with white cloth and lots of delicious treats are put nicely on them. All the Candy People are already there, but there is no sight of the princess.

"There are a lot of people here." Twig says while looking around. "Oh, and the food looks so good that my mouth is starting to water."

Finn chuckles. "You can have a bite… after we say hi to PB."

"PB? Is that what you call the princess?" Twig asks as he put one finger over his lips.

"Yeah…"

Just right at that moment, a girl with long pink hair, pink dress and a golden crown runs up to them while waving her hands. "Finn! You're here! Thanks for coming!"

"Oh, hi PB! Jake is out with Lady Rainicorn, so I brought a friend, Twig! PB, this is Twig the Maple Hero. Twig, this is Princess Bubblegum."

Finn gestures his hand toward Twig and the younger boy smiles cheerfully. "Hello Princess Bubblegum! It's nice to meet you! You can call me Twig if you like."

Upon seeing the other human, the princess's face seems to be paler a bit, but soon comes back to normal. "O- oh? Another human in Ooo? I'm… umm… quite surprised! I- uh, I'm very glad to meet you, Twig!"

Finn raises his eyebrow. Even if PB is surprised, she never talks this awkwardly. He rubs his chin as he thinks about the sudden oddness, but decides to shrug it off. Almost everyone here is surprised about Twig since they thought Finn is the only human here.

He takes a glance over the tables until he notices something. In the center of the room, there is something big and tall covered by a big pink piece of cloth. He turns to PB and asks while pointing at the thing "PB, what is that?"

"Oh, that's the… secret thing which will be revealed when the party is nearly over."

"Oooh! I love secrets!" Says an excited Twig.

Finn smiles gladly. It seems like that he will do well at this party, with Princess Bubblegum.

About an hour and a half has passed. PB glances up at the clock and then clears her throat before saying out loud.

"Attention, everyone! Attention!"

Hearing the princess's voice, all the chatting, eating, drinking and other actions stop. Everyone, including the two humans, looks at where PB is.

"First…" PB starts. "I would like to thank everyone for coming to the party. As you have probably noticed…" She then walks up to the tall thing. "… The thing next to me is a special secret that I plan to be revealed at the end of the party. And since the time has finally come, I'm going to reveal the secret now!"

Everyone becomes excitedly as Princess Bubblegum grabs the cloth. She pulls it down and everyone's expression changes from excited to surprise and fear.

The cloth is pulled down and reveals another Princess Bubblegum trapped in a crystal-clear and big block of ice with her eyes tightly shut.

"Princess Bubblegum!" Finn shouts.

"There are two of them?!" Twig gasps.

As the guests talk worriedly to each other, the princess who is holding the cloth giggles evilly. Finn notices this and points at her.

"You're not the real princess!"

Upon hearing that, she starts to laugh loudly. She then grabs her face and chest before tearing them up, revealing the Ice King.

"Hahaha! You're right, Finn the Human! Boy, I'm so clever to think of this to trick all of you! All of you!" The king laughs and starts to float into the air. He then uses his power to attack the guests, making them run all over the place in panic.

"You're going to pay for this!" Finn shouts and takes out his sword.

"Go on Finn! Go fight me with your little human friend!"

"Welp, you asked for this." Twig says. Finn looks over him and sees that he has already taken out his own sword and gotten in position. "Let's do this, Finn!"

Finn nodded without hesitation.
