Aang laughed nervously as he watched Sokka's figure recede. "Thank the spirits that's over…" Aang thought to himself.
Katara assisted him to his feet and dusted his back off. "My brave man, defeated the terrible Fire Lord Ozai, has pushed forward to rebuild his people's lineage, but can't be in the same room as my brother." Katara said slightly mocking her husband.
"Laugh all you want." Aang said laughing himself. "I knew this would happen." He ended
Katara only smiled in response. Hakoda walked over and quickly excused himself to attend a matter of growing concern
"That sounds troublesome." Katara said as she watched her father walk away. Aang began to walk back toward the entrance to Appa. "I guess we should unload our stuff." He said. Katara looked around to see the village had changed a lot since she had last seen it.
There were hundreds of new homes built and new sculptures everywhere. She could barely believe this was the shanty town she'd grown up in. A part of her became saddened that she was not a part of this. She sighed and helped Aang move their bags to their igloo.
Aang noticed immediately her change in demeanor. "Katara I know you miss this place, it's your home. We can stay as long as you'd like." Aang said placing a hand on her shoulder. Katara knew that Aang proposal was genuine; however, she could not ask Aang to detach himself from the world that long. He needed to get back to Republic City. He had other duties to participate in other than entertaining her whims.
"No Aang, the offer is nice, I just wanted to spend a few nights here and move on to another place." Katara's voice sounded tired, as if it lacked enthusiasm.
Aang looked out of the window guessing how much longer the sun would stay up. "Come on." He said to Katara "I know something that will make you feel better."
Aang led Katara out of their abode and out into the streets of the South Pole. Rather than stopping at a store or vendor's hut, he lead her out of the city limits into a desolate and plane land where the young benders practiced. It was empty today and Aang decided to take advantage of his luck.
He turned to her and said "I love you." He kissed his wife and immediately bent water from the icy ocean at his wife. She barely had time to deflect it.
"Aang!" she cried "What the-"before she could react, he had done it again, this time soaking her. She immediately dropped her angry demeanor and collapsed the ice beneath him and watched him fall.
Aang bent himself up and re-froze the ground beneath him. He and Katara had a smile on their faces. It was on.
Katara began to bend water at him with deadly accuracy, sending waves, twisters, and whips of water at Aang. She began to laugh while doing it.
Her husband on the other hand was not prepared for she was doing. He knew this is what Katara needed. With all the recent travels and pregnancy news, Katara didn't get the daily vitamin W (which would be water.). He began to fight back matching her strength and creativity with the water. He mainly used defensive techniques to avoid her.
Katara on the other hand kept the water coming with no sign of stopping. She was determined to make him regret this battle.
After an hour, they began to tire, and decided to go back to town. They laughed as Katara bragged about her victory and Aang walked back wet and soaked (the loser had to walk back home soaking wet).
They laughed until their sides hurt. "You should have seen your face when I collapsed the ground under your feet" Katara laughed as she went on. "Your face was priceless" She kept going "I don't think I've felt this good in ages"
Aang took this as his cue to kiss her. A deep and passion filled kiss one that left Katara's lungs empty and her heart full. She broke the kiss and pressed her forehead against her husband's. Even when she was sad, Aang brought a smile to her face.
"Lets head back before people get suspicous" Aang added
Now let's get over the shock I know TWO YEARS I've been gone. I'm sorry my loyal folks. I've been in and out of a few interesting things. So please forgive thee. Long story short im back in black. Next chapter, expect pregnancy problems, nothing major just the normal things plus an added friend...
