Chapter 4 - Some kind of Date
"You're thinking about him, right." Haruichi was smart. He always knew what the brunet was thinking. It's hard to forget about something like a kiss and confession. Eijun just couldn't shake his thoughts from that day.
"Maybe you should go see a fortune teller." Furuya said. Eijun just glared at the raven. The brunet so wasn't going to do that, he never did believe in anything they say, simply because it's waste of his time and money.
"What are you three talking about?" Kuramochi entered the roof where the three first years were having their lunch. Kuramochi wasn't alone. Miyuki was there as well.
"Why are you two here!" Eijun pointed at the two second years.
"That's makes me sad." Miyuki fakes tears coming down his face. "I can't understand how you can treat your senpais this way."
"Stop that!" Eijun yelled. Miyuki cares and worries about Eijun but there are some sides of him that pisses the first year off. Like right now for example.
Suddenly Eijun's phone rang. The brunet took his mobile from his pocket and saw that it was a text message from no other than the guy they were just talking about moments ago.
"Miyuki-senpai this weekend the three of us will be busy." Eijun smiled.
"Huh?" The two looked at Eijun with a confused face.
"What are you three doing?" Miyuki asked. His eyes went to Haruichi and Furuya.
"We're going to see a movie." Haruichi wished his friend didn't spring things like this. It was hard to come up with something every time that Eijun lied to Miyuki or anybody.
"What's the meaning of this?" Haruichi whispered into Eijun's ear.
"I got a text from Narumiya-senpai." Eijun whispered back.
"He plans to meet him, huh."
So on their day off the three went out like Eijun had planned but Eijun left them half-way and the two didn't know what to do. They couldn't go back to the dorm without the brunet since Haruichi was sure Miyuki or somebody there would ask about that. Haruichi looked at Furuya and saw that even he didn't want to be out today since they finally had a day off and they had to spend it out rather than resting at home.
"What should we do?" Suddenly a thought crossed Haruichi's mind. He recalled that one of the baseball center had a resting area for players. "I guess that's where we are going."
Eijun was here at the appointed place where he was meeting up with Mei but he felt nervous maybe because that day he confessed to him, not to mention kissed him. He couldn't forget about that day. Since that day Eijun ignored all of Mei's messages and calls so he was a bit afraid to see the blond.
"Maybe I should go home." But if he went home now Miyuki would think it's strange since he did just see the guy before he left. Plus Haruichi said they were going find somewhere to rest for a while so he couldn't call them and say let go home already.
"Sawamura." A voice made Eijun stop his train of thoughts. Eijun turned around and saw the blond standing there. When Eijun saw Mei his nervous came rushing in fast.
"You got some guts ignoring my calls." Mei didn't seem angry but his smile on his face didn't seem that way when he spoke.
"I'm sorry!" Eijun apologized.
Mei's eyes then drifted to what Eijun was wearing.
"You don't have style at all." With that said Mei grabbed the brunet by the hand and dragged him to some men clothing store. He made Eijun try on different clothes since he didn't like what the brunet was wearing, he was wearing something simple and plain.
"Is this alright?" Eijun spoke as he walked out from the dressing room. Mei looked at Eijun from top to bottom and nodded his head, he liked what the boy was wearing and it was much better than before. Eijun was now wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with a blue tie with white dots and his shirt was rolled a bit and black pants that went up to his knees. Mei even made Eijun wear a black fedora.
"Cute?" Mei commented which made Eijun blush.
"I'll buy you this." Mei said.
"You don't have too." Eijun said but Mei refused Eijun to reject the offer, Mei ended up buying other clothes for him.
"How is your leg doing?" Mei asked.
"It's not hurting."
"I'm glad. I was worried about you all this time."
"Why?"
"You should know the answer to that."
Mei took Eijun's hand in his and the two started walking. Eijun blushed more from the movement. He used to be fine when Mei held his hand but right now made him nervous and blush.
"Why is your face so red?" Mei questioned.
"I don't know." Eijun said. His head turned away from Mei. Mei liked this side of Eijun and it made him happy.
"Let's go eat." Mei dragged Eijun to a café that he always came with his teammates.
"Hey Mei." Once they entered the people working at the café recognized the blond and called out to him. The people looked older than them and were all men.
"Who's this?"
"Kuro-san. This is my sweetheart Sawamura Eijun. Wait I shouldn't say that since it's still pending." The guy that appeared was just like his name, black hair, black clothes but still there were bit white in his clothes and golden eyes.
"Sawamura this is Sasaki Kuro."
"It's nice to meet you." Eijun spoke.
"He's cute just like you mention." Kuro teased. That comment made Eijun blush once again. It's strange for a guy calling another cute.
"I'm not cute." Eijun said.
Mei, Kuro and the rest working in the café couldn't help but laugh.
"I have to go back to work now. Eijun-kun come by anytime even without Mei." Kuro then went back to serving other guests.
"Are you a regular?"
"You could say that. My team and I like coming here since its relaxing and the people that work here are friendly."
"Yes. I can see that."
"I wanted to talk to you about something." Mei said.
"What?"
"You know that game we have with each other."
"Yes."
"The truth was I was mad at you for not returning my calls and messages that I wanted to beat you so much but I don't want you to make such a sad expression."
"Narumiya-senpai. You really think you will win."
"Of course since we beaten Seidou before as well." Mei was cheeky as ever but Eijun didn't mind.
"I hope you lose."
The bell to the café rang and two players from Mei's team appeared.
"Mei is here." Carlos pointed at Mei and he was the southpaw pitcher once again. "The two walked toward their table.
"Mei."
"What are you two doing here?" Mei asked. To be honest he didn't like anybody from his team interrupting his date with Eijun.
"It looks like we are not wanted here." Shirakawa said but even so the two made no sign of leaving instead they sat with them at the table.
"Are you feeling better?" Shirakawa asked.
"I'm fine." Eijun replied.
"Why did these two have to come here of all the days?"
"You look different." Carlos pointed out the clothes that Eijun was wearing.
"Does it look weird?"
"No. In fact you look cute." A glare was directed toward Carlos but he paid no mind. Even Shirakawa thought that Eijun looked cute.
"You should dress like this more often." Shirakawa smiled.
The two were not even that close to Eijun and they didn't even speak much last time yet the two seemed to be really fond of the brunet already.
"Are you guys ready to order?" Kuro came to their table. He was surprised to see two other familiar players sitting with Mei and Eijun. "You two are here as well today."
"I wouldn't pass on Kuro-san's food." Carlos said.
"Me either." Shirakawa said.
"What would you like?" Mei asked Eijun who was looking through the menu.
"I'm not too sure." Eijun scanned the menu but he still didn't know what to have. He kept flipping the pages of the menu.
"I recommend the salmon rice. It comes with miso soup and salad." Kuro pointed at the item on the menu.
"Then I'll have that." Eijun said.
The others order their food and they waited until it arrived. Mei had teriyaki chicken and just like Eijun's it came with miso soup and rice. Carlos had curry chicken. Shirakawa ordered yakisoba.
"This is delicious." Eijun said after having a bite.
"This café has the best food ever." Mei said.
After they had finished their meal Mei and Eijun headed out once again.
"Why are you guys coming along as well?" Mei was annoyed.
"What's wrong with it?" We have nothing better to do." Carlos and Shirakawa both nodded their head in agreement.
"Isn't it better with more people?" Eijun spoke. Mei knew that Eijun was dense so he would forgive that but he wished that he knew that Mei wanted to be alone with him. He couldn't say no when the brunet made such a cute face.
"Fine!"
The day ended and Eijun had to go back to the dorm. He called Haruichi to pick him up.
"Are you sure you didn't want us to drop you off?" Mei offered.
"I'll be fine once Haruichi and Furuya arrived and plus I don't think you want to see Miyuki-senpai."
"He's right." Carlos nodded.
"We'll wait till your friends arrived." Shirakawa patted the brunet's head.
"Yes." Eijun replied.
Haruichi and Furuya finally arrived.
"Eijun. Sorry we took lon-"Haruichi couldn't finish his sentence.
"Take good care of Sawamura here." Carlos said.
"Also don't let him fall or anything." Mei said.
"Make sure he is rested well." Shirakawa said after the two finished.
"Sure." Haruichi said.
"They are kind of acting like Eijun's brothers or something like that."
Eijun waved goodbye to the three and head his way to the dorm with the two.
