Heya, Crimson here :)
I know it's been a long, long, LONG ass time since I updated (almost a year!), I did say though that junior year was going to get in the way of updating, and my writing block was miserable. I also have year round soccer now, not to mention I made a travel team (:D). But I'm sure these aren't good enough excuses. I WILL, however, try my best to make it up to y'all and update as much as possible (no promises though...).
Anyways, here's the next chapter of Lost At Sea!
(Again, I'm sorry, and I apologize if the chapter isn't what you expected it to be)
Maka:
I woke up as the sun loomed over the sky. We were huddled around the campfire that we made last night.
I felt something warm surround me, and like any normal girl, I snuggled deep into it. I felt something, though, move up and down, causing my body to rock sideways. I then heard a sigh, like someone was breathing on me.
I cracked one of my viridian eyes open and saw the horrifying scene: I was caught in Soul's cocoon of arms and limbs. I opened my eyes with a start and immediately tried to worm my way out of his grasp, but he had me in a death grip, like his life depended on it.
I tried to wake him up by saying, "Soul, get off of me! You're suffocating me!"
…It didn't work.
I thumped Soul's forehead, which caused him to moan, "Hmm, five more minutes…" he yawned. Soul loosened his grip ever so slightly, then I squirmed out of his death hug. Once I was freed, I shook his shoulders, causing him to shudder, like he was cold.
"Soul, get up, you lazy ass, before I Maka-Chop you!"
Soul cracked his eye open, then mumbled as he sat up, rubbing his eyes, "What time is it?"
"How should I know? We're stranded on an island, remember?" I replied with a touch of annoyance threaded into my voice.
Soul sat up. "So that means you can't Maka-Chop me, right?" He said and cringed while holding his arms up as a shield. I twitched, then ran to my tent where all my belongings lay.
I practically ripped the place apart, looking for one of my precious books that I use as weapons. To my dismay though, I lacked having luck finding such valuable merchandise an hour or so later. I grumbled useless curses under my breath as I walked back outside, putting up my façade to counter the torrent of anger boiling inside me, seeing how everyone was up now.
Kidd was sunbathing/sleeping near the ocean, while Patty was building a sandcastle. Tsubaki was swimming with Liz a few yards into the ocean, splashing water at each other. Liz and Tsubaki nodded before slowly coming to where Kidd was, then splashed ocean water all over him. Kidd started, then ran after the two. The only reaction that Patty gave was her hysterical laughter.
Soul was talking to Black Star in the same spot that I had left him in. Black Star suddenly cackled in that annoying tone of his, which got a glare from Soul, and an intimidating one at that. Black Star only stuck his tongue out like a child. I smiled at that.
It was almost like home...
Soul:
I watched as Maka made a beeline for her tent in search of her beloved books. I really hope that she doesn't have any, it's too early in the morning to have a hole in my skull. Damn Maka-Chops, I thought.
I turned my attention to the rest of the group. Kidd was laying motionless on a grass-made towel with his eyes closed. Does he actually think that he'll get a tan despite being a Shinigami?
I smirked as I saw Liz and Tsubaki, who were previously splashing each other with ocean water, sneak up on the sunbathing Kidd then mercilessly sprayed him with water. Kidd jumped up in surprise, then with steam practically flaring out of his ears, chased the two around the beach. Patty found this amusing, but then again, what doesn't amuse her, what with her nonstop laughter at anything. I sighed, then noticed Black Star standing to my right. I grinned, then fist-bumped him. He sat down next to me, then had this mischievous and amused face, which I sweat-dropped at.
"Soul, you dawg." Black Star said with his evil grin.
"The hell are you talking about?" I deadpanned.
"You and Maka this morning." He smirked.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh yes you do. You and Maka were being snuggle buddies this morning by the fire."
"Uh…" I stammered.
"I knew that you liked her, and I know I said to warm up to her, but dude, snuggling and spooning wasn't what I had in mind. You're lucky her dad's not here, or else he'd castrate you!" Black Star cackled.
I glowered at him, not at all amused. Maka would be back any second, and he's practically shrieking. I don't want Maka figuring out like this, with Black Star preaching my issue. A cool guy would tell her himself, and in an extremely cool way.
Black Star stuck his tongue out for the hundredth time this morning, like the stupid five year old that he is.
A few moments later, Maka returned, her face devoid of emotion. Please no Maka-Chops, I repeated in my head as I carefully asked, "Did you find a book?"
Maka looked at me, then sighed, "No. I remembered that I didn't want to lose any of my books during our trip, so I left them all at home." I was doing my victory dance inside, but I sighed in relief out loud. Her eyebrow twitched, then next thing I knew I was one the ground, head pounding where she hand-chopped me. She lifted her chin, "Just because I don't have my books doesn't mean I can do a Shinigami-Chop like Shinigami-sama can." She stomped off as I moaned in pain, in which Black Star and Patty started screeching with laughter at.
Kidd gave up with chasing Liz and Tsubaki; he was sucking wind. Liz and Tsubaki high-fived each other, then walked back to Kidd. They shared a grin then as if aiming to humiliate Kidd, kissed both sides of his face. He stammered as his face was engulfed in a blush that reached down to his neck. The girls then quickly and expertly grabbed his legs and arms, then threw him into the ocean. Kidd struggled to reach the surface, then scowled at the two, earning a laugh from said girls.
I chuckled at that, then I had an idea.
~time skip~
I walked up to Maka, who was by herself a good measure away from our camp.
I smirked, this is gonna be fun.
After making sure that she didn't notice me, I covered her eyes with one hand, at which she gasped. Maka froze, tried to call for help, only to have her mouth covered with my other hand. Seeing that calling for help wasn't working, she tried to pry my hands off of her face. Not helping at all, she tried to squirm out of my grasp, and I almost laughed at her sad attempt to escape.
I quickly schooled my face, pressed my lips against her right ear, and then whispered, "If you want to live, then I suggest that you stay quiet and still. Do you understand?" She nodded, her fear rolling off of her in waves. "Good girl. Now, I have a question for you. Is that alright?" Maka slowly nodded again.
I waited for a few second then smirked and said, "Do you want to go surfing with me?" She went still, then elbowed me in the stomach. I let go of her face to clutch at my now throbbing abdomen, specifically where my scar is. An involuntary sound of pain escaped my lips.
Maka then wrapped her arms around herself, seething, "You sick pervert! Just because I'm by myself doesn't mean that I want to-" She was turning around while she was talking, then with a horrified look, rushed to my side. "Soul! Are you alright?" I moaned in pain, then fell to my right, my back facing Maka now. I curled into a ball, thinking, man she can do massive damage. This hurts like hell!
Maka started shaking me, saying, "I am so sorry Soul! If I knew it was you, I wouldn't've elbowed you where your scar was! I'm so, so, so sorry!" She kept rambling on as I was doubled over in pain. "But please don't ever do that again! I thought someone was going to kidnap me, or Medusa was going to kill me, or, or, or… I don't know!" She retreated, then made a hiccupping sound.
This made me stop. Shit, did I make her cry again?
I craned my head to try to see her, but Maka had her head in her arms, which were on her knees. She was shaking, trembling in fact. Yeah, I did make her cry. You seriously screwed up, Soul, you seriously screwed up.
I got up slowly, then crawled over to her, then said, "I shouldn't've done that to you. That wasn't cool of me at all. I'm sorry." I hugged her loosely, and after a while, she leaned into my hug.
She wrapped her arms gingerly around my back, saying, "It's okay, you don't mean to scare me."
We sat there like that for a little bit in silence, until I broke the silence. "But I really was asking if you wanted to go surfing with me. I found some barks of wood large and thick enough for two people per bark. Would you want to?"
Maka looked up at me, "But… I don't know how to surf."
I balked at her, "Seriously?" She shrunk a little bit, embarrassed. I grinned, ruffling her hair. "I'm kidding, chill out Maks. It's not a big deal."
She did one last hiccup, "Really?"
I smiled softly, "Yeah. C'mon, I'll teach you." I stood up, then held out my hand to her, to which she grabbed after a small period of hesitation. I smiled again, then hand in hand, we made our way back to where I stored the makeshift surfing boards.
