I fear who I am becoming,

I feel that I'm losing the struggle within,

I can no longer restrain it; my strength is fading,

I have to give in

(Anzu's house, 7:30 a.m)

"Anzu! I hope you're up, because school starts in thirty minutes! Anzu?"

Anzu stared at herself in the mirror, running her comb through her wet hair. She'd woken up late again, and it was becoming such a habit that she wasn't even panicking anymore. For the past two weeks since their new teacher had come, she'd been waking up later, her head hurting and heart racing from the odd dreams she'd been having.

Leaning her head against the mirror, she took a sharp breath. Everything hurt. Her head, her body, her heart, everything. She barely even registered her father's voice coming from down stairs; she was actually trying to ignore that. But nothing was working. In fact, everything was spinning around her. Circling and circling until she screamed, collapsing against her bed as the mirror in front of her snapped into a thousand pieces. The pieces were surrounded by shards of a black substance, the substance shining sharply in the lamp light.

"Anzu? Anzu!"

Her father ran into the room, staring at the broken mirror in horror before rushing over to comfort his daughter. "Anzu? What happened?"

Tears were falling down her face as she clutched onto her father. "W…What's wrong with me? This can't be happening again! I…It's been six years since this started happening? Why now?"

Her father stroked her hair. "Shhh, calm down. It's alright, sweetie," he kissed her forehead. "It must be because of the seizures. Just as long as you don't touch people, you will be fine."

"But I can't avoid people forever! There has to be something!"

Her father thought for a moment, before running into the bathroom to get bandages. Carefully wrapping them around her hands, he spoke to her. "Just don't take them off. As long as they don't come off, no one will get hurt, alright?"

She nodded, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Okay," she looked at her alarm clock. "Oh no! I'm late!"

"I'll write you a pass. Just remember what I told you."

"Okay!"

He watched as she ran out the door, the calm smile fading from his face. Waiting until he heard the door close, he walked down the stairs and into the living room, pulling back an object to reveal a hidden door. Walking into it as it closed, the room became darker until it reached an opening surrounded by torches with an Egyptian symbol on the floor. A man stood in the middle, examining the symbol with a passive expression. "Arashi," the man spoke after a while. "What is your report?"

Arashi bowed respectfully. "It has been a long time, Ma'kaan. Six years in fact."

Ma'kaan blinked. "Six years," he repeated. "And during those six years, nothing has happened. Until now that is."

Arashi nodded. "The events that were foretold so long ago are starting to happen. Her powers have been dormant, but now my daughter is finally beginning to become aware of her abilities. And when she has them at their full potential, the Pharaoh and his minions' better watch out."

Ma'kaan rolled his eyes. "Don't get ahead of yourself. She may relapse again and we'll have to wait even longer," he looked down at the symbol. "We have waited a very long time. Our master will be pleased."

"He will?"

"He's already in the city."

Arashi stepped back, his face whitening. "Where is he? Is he coming here?"

"No. At least, not yet."

That didn't make Arashi feel any better. He began to pace quickly, the wheels of his mind spinning. "So it's time already? I figured he would wait until Anzu was a little older. She's only sixteen!"

Ma'kaan didn't look impressed. "Don't tell me you're becoming attached to the child. The only reason you and Miku had her was because it was our time," he noted how Arashi flinched at his dead wife's name. "Speaking of family, didn't Miku have two children?"

Arashi's face darkened. "Yes…Anzu had a twin brother, a boy named Akio."

"And you made sure to get him out of the picture?"

"…Yes."

(Inside the millennium coin)

Mistress gasped out loud, dark eyes widening in horror as she stood up, calling out for Elecktra intently. "Elecktra! Elecktra!" she got no response at first, but a few minutes later, Elecktra came to her with an annoyed look on her face.

"What?" the younger girl asked.

Mistress' worried face made the annoyed look vanish. Elecktra took her hand. "Mistress, what is it? Please!"

Mistress shook her head. "Ma' kaan," she whispered. "He's here. I have not seen him since the ancient times. I had no idea he was here. But why?..." Her voice trailed off.

Elecktra blinked. "Who?"

"He was a dark magician back in my past. He tried to kill me before, but I stopped him," she shivered. "If he's here, then something must be going on. I have no idea how he became immortal, but if he's here, then the others that want to hurt me must be here as well."

Elecktra frowned. "Who would want to hurt you?"

"Many people, Elecktra. Many people who want revenge on me," she shook her head. "You must go now. I'm afraid it isn't safe here. Not anymore. You must be careful! And you must not let them get ahold of the coin."

"I won't!"

"I trust you, my dear!"

(Domino high school)

"You're late," Ryou commented as Anzu sat down in the classroom, right in the middle of their math lesson. "This is becoming quite a bad habit."

"I know," she replied, making sure the bandages on her hands were secured.

Elecktra leaned forward, eyes narrowing at the sight of her best female friend. "What's with the bandages?"

"I burnt myself on the stove this morning."

"With both hands?"

"It's been a long morning, Elecktra," her blue eyes looked tired. She sat down, taking out her math book as Tokiha sense walked in. He smiled at Anzu, the class whispering as he only gave Anzu a smile like that. Elecktra didn't like it. Not at all.

"Anzu, what's wrong? You never usually act like this!" Yuugi hissed from the across the other desk. "We're your friends, you know. You can always come to us when there is something wrong."

"Yuugi," Tokiha sensei spoke up, staring at the boy coldly. "We're doing math now. Please leave Mazaki san alone."

The class giggled at the blushing boy, all of them knowing full well that Anzu was Tokiha sensei's favorite student. Elecktra narrowed her eyes at her teacher, though this went ignored. She didn't care what anyone said about him; she didn't like him and vice versa, he didn't like her. She wasn't exactly sure why, but he didn't.

"Alright, so what is a parabola? Elecktra?"

She snapped to attention, feeling the eyes of her classmates on her. She looked at her teacher with a fake smile. "Ummmm…a mathematical curve with two equal sides?"

He frowned at her, shaking his head as if she just lost a million yen on a game show. "I'm sorry, that is incorrect. Perhaps you need to spend more time studying and less time playing children's card games," he turned to Anzu with a smile. "Do you know the answer, Anzu?"

Anzu smiled at him, giving her friend an apologetic glance. "A parabola is a mathematical curve formed by the intersection of a cone with a plane parallel to its side."

Tokiha sensei grinned at her. "Very nicely put," he turned back to Elecktra. "Perhaps you should get Mazaki san as a tutor."

Anzu blushed red and slid her hands under her desk. Elecktra frowned at that. How on earth would she have burnt both her hands? Something was wrong….really wrong. The rest of the morning seemed to drag on. Science and history seemed to drag on for ages, and Elecktra found that she was getting antsier and antsier by the minute.

When the lunch bell rang, she practically cornered Anzu into the classroom, arms crossed over her pink shirt as her friend looked uncomfortable. "Elecktra?" she asked in a small voice. "Can I get through?"

"Not until you answer my questions."

Anzu frowned, rubbing her bandaged hands uncomfortably. "Please…I want to go check my hands out. Elecktra, I promise you that everything is fine!"

Elecktra scowled. "I want to believe you, but you've been acting so strange lately," she looked into Anzu's tired blue eyes. "Why won't you let me in? You don't have to live in fear."

Anzu gave her a tight smile. "I just need to work something out on my own," she paused, as if thinking of something. "Whenever your step dad is mean to you, you never want to talk about it. Please, this is like one of those moments. I don't want to talk about it."

Elecktra glared at her. "Yes, but we end up talking about it anyway," she moved over to the left as Anzu tried to side step her. "You've been supportive of me so many times, Anzu. You've stuck by my side and all our other friends so many times and never complained. Please," she moved to grasp her hand, the bandages falling apart. "What are you afraid of?"

Anzu pulled her hands away, stepping back as the other bandage came apart. "Please…"she whispered, "Stay back! Please!"

"What's wrong?"

Anzu was now backed up against the wall, her hands gripping the edge of the windows. Something black and shiny, almost like ice, had begun to creep up along the windows and walls, making the whole room darker. Elecktra's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates at the sight. "Anzu," she whispered. "What the…"

Although she wasn't crying, Anzu looked absolutely terrified. Her hands were now on her face, covering her eyes as her breathing became heavy. "Elecktra, please go!"

"No! I won't leave you! This stuff looks dangerous!"

The substance continued to grow, covering the floor where Anzu stood. Anzu let her hands fall from her face, tears beginning to well up. "Elecktra please, you'll only make it worse!"

She stepped forward. "I'm…not leaving you. I won't leave you alone!"

"You're not safe here!" a shaky breath had left her mouth. "I can't control it! Please, stay back!"

Elecktra could almost reach her. If she took five more steps, she would be able to grab her friend's hand. "Anzu, I want to help you!" she noted how her friend shook her head. "I know you can stop this!"

"I…I…" the substance seemed to shake, just as Anzu let out one last shaky breath. "I can't!"

The windows burst right after she said it. Huge and small glass shards came flying into the room; missing Anzu entirely. Elecktra brought her hands to her face, wincing as pieces of the mirror tore at her sleeves and cut her legs. She screamed as a particularly large shard wedged itself in her right arm, blood beginning to stain the sleeve. Anzu stared at her in horror, her body shaking as Elecktra began to cry out from the pain. Her eyes had gone from a startling shade of blue to the most dullest shade she'd ever seen.

"E…Elecktra! I'm sorry! I don't…I can't…!"

The last thing Elecktra could really recall was people rushing into the room and the blur of voices.

(Domino hospital)

"Miss Merane? You have a visitor!"

Elecktra looked up at the nurse from her hospital, nodding for them to send the visitor in. She flinched when she saw Anzu enter the room. The blue eyed girl sat across from her, making sure to keep her distance. "Elecktra," she began quietly. "I want to explain what happened back there, but I can't."

Elecktra narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean you can't? What the hell was that?"

Anzu shook her head. "Something is wrong with me."

"Think I could have figured that out."

Anzu bit her lip. "I never told anyone this," she looked at her friend before continuing on. "Along with my seizures and black outs, there was something else I could do. I could create this black shiny stuff with my hands, and although it looks pretty, it's not. Every time I would create it, something bad would happen to the person near me. Even myself at times."

Elecktra stared at her. "How…what…why is this even happening now?"

"I don't know. I really don't know."

Elecktra pursed at the thought. "Mistress spoke to me today. Apparently someone from her past is here in Domino."

"How?"

Elecktra shook her head. "I don't know," she gave her friend a small smile, but it soon faded. "All I know, is that something big is coming. And we'd all best be prepared for it."
