I haven't updated this in a really long time and I only have 30 minutes to write this chapter so I apologize for all grammar mistakes beforehand.
Okay, I'll just dive in now.
Rin's POV
"You wanted me for something?" I say as I arrive at the park short of breath.
"Nothing really...it's just been a while," Gumi says plainly while biting the tip of a strawberry pocky stick, "Besides, there is nothing wrong with a little company."
"That's very true," Rui says, "Besides, we've all been busy with our...business."
"Is anyone else coming?" I ask, "Have you been accepted by the others?"
"Well I got Luka to start talking to me, but nothing else," Rui blushes as if embarrassed, "I mean...I know its been like 2 months and there isn't much progress-"
"I call that progress," Gumi finishes the stick, "Luka is hard to accept others, especially if they don't nearby and don't have status like her. She's also really sensitive so you have to be extremely careful when you talk to her. Miku is coming over and she might bring Luka along."
"Well...Rei hasn't really talked to me yet..." Rui mutters, "Maybe this isn't a good idea."
"Confidence takes a while to form, but you're day will come," Gumi pulls out another stick and bites off the unfrosted part, "Oh here is Miku with Luka. Hi!"
"Hi Miku, hi Luka!" Rui says cheerfully with a small wave, "Nice to see you're doing well."
"Hi!" Miku says in her usual cheerful voice.
"Hi," Luka says in a more monotone and calm way, "Nice to meet you."
Unsure of what to do I give a small wave and try to imitate Rui's cheerfulness, "Hi."
"So you must be Rin. Gumi and Miku said you would make a good friend," Luka says in that same hollow voice.
"Yeah..." I say, "I'm not really sure if that's a good thing..."
"Of course its a good thing!" Rui interrupts, but I'm glad she does, "Right Miku, right Gumi?"
"Right," They both say at the same exact time. Then Gumi pulls out 5 more packs of pocky, "Pocky anyone?"
"Sure," we all reach for a pack. I end up grabbing the same exact pack as Luka. When we see we were grabbing the same pack, we both let go at the same exact time blush slightly.
"Come on," Gumi mutters and tosses both Luka and I a pack, "Don't get flustered over such little things."
For a few minutes we sit outside and eat packs of strawberry pocky. It seems for peaceful, it kind of feels like its like the good old days.
"For some reason," Rui speaks suddenly, "I didn't really expect being popular to be like this. It seems too..."
"Quiet? Peaceful?" I suggest.
"Yeah, I expected popular people to be more...rowdy and obnoxious," Rui finishes.
"We can be rowdy and obnoxious," Miku says, "But that's because of our frequent parties."
"Yeah...that rumor probably came from truth or dare. And if I remember correctly, I believe we TPed your house a few years ago for one round," Luka takes a dainty bite of her pocky.
"Who suggested that dare and who did it?" I feel a slight prickle of annoyance remembering that event.
"I did the dare and Len Kagamine suggested it," Luka replies.
"That Len Kagamine guy again" I mutter, "I barely know him and yet I already hate his guts!"
"You can feel that way, I'll understand," Luka smiles and a puppy is revived.
"That's right!" Miku explodes suddenly, "Luka-chan-"
"Don't go there Miku!" Luka shouts, "We all know that whenever you add a -chan or a -kun to the end of someone's name, you're about to reveal something embarrassing about them!"
Miku makes a sound similar to a whining puppy and says, "But we're supposed to be bonding..."
"Bonding doesn't mean we tell teach other secrets," Luka mutters, "The next thing I need is that-"
"Anyways, this may be random, but I just wanted to say that Luka and I were the first friends we ever made here!" Miku squeals, "We moved in neighboring houses and went to the same school. It's only natural we became friends like that."
"Yeah, and Luka was kind of like you Rin," Gumi adds, "Smart and makes friends with her friend's friends kind of person."
"You guys..." Luka mutters while blushing a deep scarlet red, "Seriously..."
Was that the reason behind all the blushing? Because I reminded herself of her in the past. Was that the reason while she was at first so...cold? No...not exactly the right word, but close enough.
"Anyways," I interrupt the little argument going on, "That means we're friends right."
Gumi and Miku seemed to understand that the question was directed toward Luka because they didn't answer. This caused an one confused and surprised Luka. She blushed an deeper shade of red if that is possible then stammered, "Y-yeah...I suppose..."
I smile, and another puppy was revived.
"Puppy was revived" idea to me means that it is either rare, a beautiful site, or amazing so go from there if you're confused.
I know, the chapter is shorter than usual, but I'll make a longer update next time. Until then, please review.
