Kip looked around. He was in a jail cell. The door was shielded and there were no windows. Kip reached for his lightsaber, but it wasn't there. He wasn't even wearing his brown Jedi robes. He wore white pants and what appeared to be a long white bathrobe with a red belt around his waste. Where was he?
"Kip...Kip..."
An old women stood on the other side of his cell. She too was dressed in all white. Her hair was long and grey and her face was wrinkled. She took a step forward.
"Who are you?" Kip asked nervously.
The women smiled.
"Don't you recognize me Kip" she asked.
Kip stared at her for a moment. He searched his memories. There was no old women like her.
"No, I do not," he decided.
The old women's smile faded.
"So, they took that away from you too," she grumbled.
Kip raised his eyebrows.
"Who's they? What did they take?"
The women stared into his eyes. The stare creeped Kip out a little. She looked away and hung her arms.
"The Jedi," she whispered.
"The Jedi? What did they take?" he demanded.
She looked at him sadly. Her face was all but gloom.
"Do you remember how you were brought to the Temple?" she asked curiously.
He thought for a moment.
"No."
The women walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder. Her hand was ice cold and it made Kip shiver.
"Kip, I am your Mother."
Kip gasped.
"My..my Mother? How?" he demanded.
The old women pulled him into a hug.
"They took you and Kina away from me five years ago during a battle," she sobbed. "A Jedi named Aayla Secura came to me after the battle ended and she told me. I didn't believe her, so I searched the whole planet for years and I could never find you or Kina!"
She burst into tears and Kip hugged her back.
"I never knew that I had a family, and I didn't know that they were still alive," he admitted.
She stepped back.
"Kip, I'm not alive. I died a month ago," she said softly.
Kip flinched like someone had just punched him.
"What?" he whispered.
She looked at him sorrily.
"Kip, I'm a mix of your memory and imagination," she explained.
"No!" he yelled.
He ran over to the door and tried to get it to open, but the shield shocked him.
Kip yelped in surprise and jumped back.
"Then why am I here, in a jail cell!" he snapped.
She turned her back, so she wouldn't have to face him.
"Because you want to be."
Kip was confused.
"I don't want to be in a jail cell!" he yelled.
"But that's where you are right now in life," she said gently.
Kip sat down and rested his head against the cold concrete wall. He felt a tear fall down his cheek. He didn't care at the moment.
His "Mom" walked over to him and sat down.
"I know this is hard for you to hear, but I speak the truth," she said softly.
Kip nodded.
"I need you to tell this to your sister, could you do that for me?" she asked.
Kip nodded again.
"Also, I want you to promise me something."
"What is it?" Kip asked, now facing her.
"I want you to promise me that you will look after Kina. Something bad is going to happen in the near future. Please, protect her for me," she pleaded.
"I promise," he vowed.
His "Mom" smiled.
"Good. Now wake up!"
Kip woke up coughing. His head hurt and his mind was racing. He was lying in his bed in the Jedi Temple. He wore his brown Jedi clothes, not the white robes in his dream. Everything was back to normal.
Kip looked at the small clock on the wall. He had only been sleeping for fifteen minutes.
"Strange," he muttered.
He was just about to go back to sleep when he remembered something.
"Kina, I've got to tell Kina!"
