Chapter 4: Eco Burns!

3 Hours Later; Samos' Hut...

Samos is seen meditating, wondering why the boys haven't contacted him about finding all the Power Cells on the Island. He put those there because, well, might as well make a challenge for their training. Of course, they were easy to spot and find but not easy to get, for the most part. Of course, then once that was done, he'd give them survival training on that island. Not like they'll be able to rely on him for the rest of their lives for food and water, especially when they're out in the wilderness.

His communicator went off and he answered it, albeit, loudly.

"What is it?" yelled Samos into the communicator.

"Ow. Geez big green, ya tryin' to make me deaf before I'm an old man?!" came Daxter's voice on the other end.

"What do you want Daxter?"

"Um...is Blue Eco supposed to set you on fire?"

"Set you on-...what?"

"Yeah. Um...Nox stepped onto the Blue Eco Vent and he burst into flames. Jak's been chasing him around the beach for the last two and a half hours tryin' to put him out."

"How in green tarnation did he spontaneously combust?!"

"I don't know! That's why I called you!"

Samos rubbed his forehead in annoyance. Blue Eco, makes things faster, why would Nox suddenly combust by stepping onto the stuff?

"Wait...two and a half hours?" said Samos, confusion in his voice as this had been going on for 2.5 hours.

"Yeah. He's been running around screaming his head off while Jak's been trying to catch him."

Samos groaned and shook his head. That boy was more trouble than he was worth.

"Hey wait...Jak! Stop him! He's trying to get into a geyser!"

An explosion is heard, albeit barely and Samos raises an eyebrow.

"YOU GOT INCOMING GREEN STUFF!" came Daxter's voice and Samos looked more confused before Nox came in through the roof and landed on top of him. Samos thought he felt a few bones pop out of place from the impact.

"Thanks for breaking my fall Samos!" said Nox smiling brightly.

"Nox..." said Samos, his voice dangerous calm.

"Uh-oh..."

Jak is seen using his goggles to try to find where Nox landed before he looks at Samos' hut and sees green flashes of light come from inside it and he lifts up his goggles and whistles innocently as he walks away from the cliffside.

"NOX I'M GONNA TURN YOU INTO THE MOST HARMLESS OF PLANTS AND THEN I'M GONNA THROW IT INTO THE FIRE CANYON!" yelled Samos as he fired his staff at Nox, the eco blasts causing various plants to spring to life where they hit and Nox is seen trying to dodge as best as he can.

"I DON'T WANT TO BE A PLANT!" cried Nox as he ran out of the hut, an angry Samos chasing after him.

"GET BACK HERE!"

Nox jumps off of the natural island platform Samos hut is on and lands in the water. He suddenly jumps out as a Lurker Shark tries to eat him.

"LURKER SHARK! AAAAAH!" yelled Nox running across the water from the Lurker Shark chasing him. He quickly pulls his tail away from the Lurker's jaws and smashes it on the head with a frying pan which only seems to anger it. He then jumps over the green eco bolt fired at him from Samos, who is safely hovering a couple feet above the water, enough so that no Lurker Sharks can get him.

Nox keeps running across the water from the angry Green Eco Sage and the angry shark until he's running across the sandy beach of Geyser Rock and he runs smack into a tree and has about a thousand coconuts fall on his head and he looks dazed before a shadow falls over him and he slowly looks to see Samos with his staff pointed at him and he gulps and smiles nervously.

"Um...sorry?" said Nox shrugging sheepishly.

Samos begins charging up his staff...
