So, after a long wait I am finally back. Are you still out there? I have to apologize that it took me so long to update this but everything came in the way and now that I have time (=now that I should be studying) I suddenly wanted to finish this. I am sorry.
Hope you enjoy!
Sam had been following Balthazar around the house for a while now. It was huge, like a mansion. He would have been lost a thousand times by now if Balthazar hadn't led them. Anna was following somewhere behind them, but she left them alone to themselves.
Dean could learn something from her. If he brought friends over he wouldn't leave them alone for one second. He would keep prodding and asking them what they were doing.
But not Anna. And Sam was happy about he. He did miss Dean and he couldn't imagine a life without him, but he needed some time apart from him. Just for himself, without anyone asking him if he was OK or if he needed something.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Balthazar stopped.
"Here we are. This is my room."
They stood in front of a huge double door. It was made entirely out of wood, but it was shining as if it were made out of silver.
Dean's mouth fell open. Balthazar had a room just for himself, and then it was this big. He felt as if he were visiting a prince or something.
Maybe Balthazar was a prince. Maybe they were royal and that was why they had such a big house and such a big family. Maybe…
But in that moment Balthazar opened the doors and Sam's thought vanished.
Instead he was staring in amazement at Balthazar's room.
It was as huge as he had imagined. But on top of that it was full with any toy Sam could imagine. From little toy cars to huge teddy bears, from every book Sam could image to the newest gaming console. Sam found everything he had stared at in the TV, every toy he had ever seen in shops, everything he couldn't ever afford, stuffed in Balthazar's room. And he didn't even seem impressed by it.
Sam stared at Balthazar, who just shrugged his shoulders.
"This is only my bedroom. I have more things in the other room that I share with Cas. Though he doesn't spend much time there. Cas likes to go to the library. So I have both rooms for myself."
Sam took a few hesitant steps into the room. Carefully he observed his surroundings. He didn't even know where to start looking.
Balthazar went running to the other side of the room.
"Come on, I'll show you my favourite."
Anna smiled and left the boys to themselves. She went to sit down on one of the chairs and pulled one of the game consoles out.
Although she wouldn't concede it she really enjoyed playing Nintendo.

Although Balthazar had innumerable toys, Sam soon got bored of them.
"Can't we go outside and play there?" he asked Balthazar.
He looked confused at Sam. He didn't understand why he wanted to go outside. He had everything he needed in here.
"Why do you wanna do outside?"
Sam just shrugged.
"I would like to see your garden. I'm sure you have a huge garden."
Balthazar thought about that.
"Yes, I suppose we could do that."
They both went outside of the room and found Anna absorbed in her game.
"Anna, can we go outside?"
Anna looked up from her game. She hadn't thought that they would come out of the room so soon. She looked from Balthazar to Sam. She couldn't imagine her little brother wanting to go outside, so it had to have been Sam.
"I wanted to see the garden" Sam confirmed her assumptions. "It looked huge."
Anna smiled.
"It is" she said while standing up and leaving the Nintendo on one of the boxes. "Come, I'll show you."
Balthazar trailed behind them, not enthusiastic at all to go outside.

Anna showed Sam the garden around the house. Sam was astonished at how big it was. He would have never imagined that a family could need so much space, even if they were so many. He and Dean and Dad only had the little apartment they rented for a few weeks before moving on, and sometimes it was only one small room. But it had always been more than enough for him. They could always go outside if they wanted, and thus the huge space Balthazar had in his home seemed unnecessary for Sam.
Still, he couldn't say no to a tour around the garden. It was so beautiful and so big! He knew that if he had been alone, he would have been lost in a few minutes. There were so many paths leading everywhere and nowhere, so many trees, hedges blocking the view, huge bushes and marble statues. There was so much to see and still Balthazar seemed bored. Sam thought that he could never get bored in this garden, even if he stayed there for years.
"Do you want to see something really cool?" asked Anna.
Sam forced his gaze away from a water fountain and looked up at her. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to, Dean would be looking for him soon. And Dad would be really angry if they weren't home for dinner.
Anna seemed to read his thoughts, because her mouth parted in a smile.
"Don't worry, we won't be gone long, we'll be back before Dean or your dad notice anything."
She extender her hand and Sam took it this time without thinking twice. Anna turned to Balthazar and asked:
"Do you want to come too?"
He didn't seem too enthusiastic about it, but he enquired:
"Where are we going?"
"Somewhere you haven't been often" Anna said with an enigmatic smile.
Balthazar's eyes widened and suddenly he seemed very keen to go with them. Without a further word he took Anna's hand and all three of them vanished.

As Sam opened his eyes again they had moved. He had no idea how or why, but he didn't care at that moment either. He looked around him, mouth wide open, and couldn't believe his eyes. He was back at home, his real home. Not any of the motels or other places he had stayed with Dean and Dad. No. Home.
Sam didn't know why he was so sure that this was his home as he didn't really remember anything from that house. But some feeling in his stomach told him that this was where he belonged, this right here and nowhere else.
"What do you see?" asked Anna right beside him.
Sam jumped slightly because he had completely forgotten that he wasn't alone there, that there were other people beside him. Anna and Balthazar, although Balthazar had already wandered off to some other place.
"I…" Sam started to answer before he noticed how weird that question was. What did he see? Why should he explain? Anna was standing right next to him, she could see the exact same things he could see, right? "Why do you ask?"
Anna smiled.
"I can't see what you see. It's all only in your head."
Sam furrowed his brow.
"So you mean I am imagining this?"
"No," Anna replied. "This is all real. But only you are living it. Balthy is seeing something different, as well as I am. This is all happening inside your head, but why should that meant that it is not real?"
"Did you just quote Dumbledore?" asked Sam turning his head towards Anna.
"Ehm… Yes. Aren't you a little too young to have read Harry Potter?"
Sam just shook his head and continued looking around. It all seemed pretty real and Balthazar seemed to be having fun with whatever it was that he saw so Sam decided that it was safe enough and started to wander off to the next room.
He could hear someone talking, a woman. He didn't recognise the voice at first, but when he heard her laugh he froze. He knew that woman. His feet started moving without his direct order. He couldn't take his eyes away from the doorframe and as he stepped closer he made out another voice. He froze again but this time not because he recognised it but because it was so familiar and at the same time alien.
After a few seconds which appeared to be longer to Sam than they actually were he took that last step around the corner.
He stood there, watching without being able to do anything else. He didn't notice Anna standing behind him, a wide grin on her face. He didn't notice Balthazar running around behind him as if he were on a rollercoaster ride. His eyes were fixed on the two people in front of him. His mum and his dad.

Dean and Cas were still lying in the tall grass watching the clouds as Anna suddenly appeared in front of them.
"Hey you two" she said and Dean jumped up. He hadn't heard Anna coming.
"Hey" said Cas, still lying on his back, gaze lost in the sky.
Anna looked at Dean, her eyes glimmering with anticipation.
"You wanna join your brother?" she asked Dean who looked at her questioning but nodded.
Now Cas looked up. He exchanged a knowing look with Anna, then stood up to join Dean besides Anna.
"I am sure you will enjoy this, Dean."
Dean looked doubtful from Anna to Cas but then decided to trust them one more time and took Anna's waiting hand.

"And then we were home, like really home, to where we lived before everything and you were there and mummy too and we had dinner all four of us together!"
John looked doubtful from Sam to Dean who had the same gleam on his face. They seemed happy, he thought.
"And where is that supposed to have happened?" John asked. He knew that Dean liked to tell stories and Sam took them for granted. They both indulged into these fictional worlds that afterwards they couldn't tell them from reality apart.
"In heaven, dad. Where else? We met other angels too. I played with Balthazar and Dean was with Cas, right Dean?"
John looked over to Dean who was poking his food around his plate.
"´Course Sammy. We had a lot of fun, didn't we?"
John didn't know if he should be angry or amazed at what Dean did. He thought it was stupid that Dean made Sam believe all these things, made him feel special. But on the other hand Sam seemed to enjoy it. These moments were the few ones where Sam looked happy and John wouldn't take that away from him. And it was a subtle way for Sam to start to know that there was more out there, other things than just humans.
If he thought about it, it was quite a good idea from Dean. He leaned back in his chair and smiled. He had done a good job. They would survive without him, of that he was sure. They would always have each other, and even if they grew up without a mother to look after, they would be okay. Dean was there and Dean would always care for his little brother. He would do everything for him just to make him happy.
I don't know if such a place as I explained in the chapter exists in heaven, but I just assumed that everything is possible in heaven. And as this story is illogical in every sense, why not extend the "not plausible" even more :D
I think this is the end of the story. I had a lot of fun writing and thinking about this and I hope you enjoyed the read too. Please leave a comment to let me know what you thought, it would make my day.
Maybe someday I will come back to this and have John meet all of them or I don't know… We'll see.
Thank you very much for reading everyone, it was a pleasure. See ya!
