Where's Daddy?
A simple question posed to her by a four year old who didn't know the heartache it would cause, had caused.
When the answer did not come and tears became visible in her azure eyes he had wrapped his arms around her.
The words 'I want daddy' falling from his lips like the mantra of a dying man.
She shushes him soothing and calming the frightened child who clings to her like a lifeline.
And she whispers in his ear of princes, fairy godmothers and the brave knight who saved her life at the cost of his own.
