With Sasuke (Part 2)
Stay Away From Iruka.
Sasuke did not stop growling, he did not move from his stance, he did not understand the words exchanged between Iruka and the fat man, and he did not leave Iruka's side. Sasuke did, however, notice when Iruka gently nudged his body away, and keeled in front of him, taking his large head into small his smaller hands.
"Sasuke, I want you to listen to me, okay?" Sasuke let out a huff and moved his body so it was slightly in front of his 'Mother', the lion was still convinced the men in white were going to hurt Iruka.
"Look at me Sasuke," turning the lion's face away from the guards, Iruka locked eyes with Sasuke's own, and softly stroked his mane.
"I ... I have to leave" Sasuke's calm face quickly changed to one of rage, roaring at Iruka and pinning his legs down with his large paws. Suddenly, everyone began to move in a frenzy, the doctors quickly loaded their tranquilizer guns and were currently trying to get a good aim. While the headmaster called for a cage and sent two men passing by to try and get Iruka out safely.
"SASUKE! Let. Me. Go." Bringing their foreheads together, Iruka looked straight into Sasuke's eyes. What he saw made Iruka loose his clam facade; desperation, sadness, pleading- if one person would just look into the young lion's eyes they could see how much pain they were causing by separating him from his 'mother'. Tears quickly flooded Iruka's brown eyes, and rubbed his face into the lion's neck, allowing Sasuke to do the same.
"I'm so sorry..." Just as the words escaped the social workers mouth, two sharp tranquilizer needles lodged their way into Sasuke's back, temperately stunning him. Giving Iruka the perfect chance to slip away.
"Just go, Iruka," The headmaster sneered. "You've done enough, I'll have someone drop off your things in the morning." With tears in his eyes, Iruka started to walk away, completely unaware of the scene happening behind him.
Everyone else, though, watched in horrid amazement as the black Lion fur began to recede. Paws turned to hands, claws turned to nails, a snout turned into a nose and a tail dissipated. However, Iruka did notice when Sasuke inhuman roars, slowly turned into a small child's yell.
"NO! ... Please! Don't leave!" Iruka slowly turned, looking at a sobbing child who was barely six years old, with large and slanted black eyes drowning in tears. Army crawling to where Iruka was standing, with two tranquilizers sticking out of his back. It was devastating, seeing the once proud and quiet Lion humanoid break down at the mere sight of Iruka leaving. It was at that moment that the headmaster finally saw that Sasuke wasn't just a prideful rare black Lion, but also, still a child.
"Please," another sob escaped the boy, and reached out to Iruka, who in turn ran to the boy and brought him to his chest. Stroking his babyish face and wiping away the tears as the humanoid whispered;
"Don't leave me... Mom..."
"-e...Sasuke, come on boy... wake up" Sasuke felt his bangs push back, and a warm hand on his forehead.
"Sasuke, it's me... wake up okay?" The lion knew this voice, the soft soothing voice that he had fell asleep to many nights when he was in his cell.
"M...Mom?" Sasuke whispered, adjusting his head so the hand could cradle his hair easier.
"No, it's Iru-" The soft voice got cut off by another, a man mumbling 'Remember who he thinks you are..'
"U-Uh, yeah... It's... Mom." Slowly, Sasuke opened his eyes. Looking around he determined he was in a hospital room, a man with grey hair in scrubs with a pink haired humanoid girl around his age peeking at him from behind the man's leg. But those weren't the people, or person, Sasuke wanted to see.
"Mom..." The lion said, as he tilted his head to look at the social worker, who had a confused facial expression. Suddenly the humanoid sat up, scooting away from Iruka.
"I thought... I thought you had to leave." Said Sasuke, looking down at his lap, resisting the urge to wrap his arms around his mother's neck and tell him to never leave again, tell him how he couldn't live to loose another parent.
"Well, I was.." Iruka said softly, "But... the headmaster saw your... attachment... to me and deiced that it is best for your heath that you come and live with me." The tanned man said excitedly, all traces of confusion gone, then quickly turned bashful.
"T-That is... if you even want to live with m-"
"Yes." Sasuke answered quickly, snapping his head to the social worker and wrapped his tiny arms around Iruka; who in turn wrapped his arms around the five year old and squeezed him tightly. Iruka chuckled,
"Okay, Sasuke. After you and Mr. Haruno have a chat, we'll go to my home, and get you situated." Iruka said softly, ruffling dark hair and rubbing his hand up and down the five year old's back. After being reminded that there were other people in the room, Sasuke loosened his grip and slowly looked over Iruka's shoulder to look at the man and small child. Both of those people perked up after noticing that they had the lion's attention.
"Hello Sasuke, I'm Mr. Haruno, and this is my Shiba Inu humanoid Sakura, she has a interest in the medical field so I thought it would be fun if she..came.. to work.. uh," Mr. Haruno trailed off after seeing the fierce glare the young lion had on his face, it was obvious Sasuke just wanted to go home with his mother- and did not want to waste time talking about some girl. The older man coughed and began again.
"Uh, I'm sure you don't want to hear about something like that," Mr. Haruno said, ignoring Sakura's whine. "Anyway, as Iruka said, the headmaster allowed you to stay at Iruka's residence because it seems as if you have developed a special relationship with Iruka... Could you tell us who he is to you?" A few minutes passed before Sasuke answered.
"He's my mom." Sasuke clutched Iruka's shirt tighter, but didn't make a move to wrap his arms around him again. Mr. Haruno nodded and smiled softly.
"That's what we thought..." Turning his attention to Iruka, Mr. Haruno smiled and handed him a stack of papers. "Fill these out every month and send them into the Institution, along with a picture of Sasuke taken preferably the day you send them in." Nodding, Iruka took the papers out of Mr. Haruno's hands.
"So, are we set to go? Sasuke can come and live with me?" Iruka said hopefully, after getting a nod, the social worker pulled out some clothes from his back pack, and handed them to Sasuke.
"I got these while you were sleeping, the bathroom is through that door, you can change in there." Slowly getting out of the hospital bed, Sasuke moved to the door Iruka had pointed at, and changed into a black t-shirt with dark green cargo shorts with two pockets on each pant leg. The young lion looked into the bathroom mirror, and took a deep breath, his mouth unknowingly upturned into a smirk.
Sasuke stepped out of the bathroom and made his way to Iruka, who looked at the clothing approvingly.
"I had to buy them in an older age group, but they seem to fit perfectly!" Iruka beamed, he then took Sasuke's hand and began to walk out the door, but not before stopping at the door way and saying,
"Don't forget to say goodbye to Mr. Haruno and Sakura, Sasuke." Iruka smiled, saying a goodbye for himself. Sasuke turned his head slightly, looking at the blushing humanoid and the smiling man, and gave a small wave.
"Goodbye."
