"Elena! Elena open up! You can't hide in there forever."
Caroline impatiently banging her fist on Elena's bathroom door.
"Hey Jenna. Maybe you should come looking for substitute key because I don't think she will open the door any time soon."
She turned around to speak gently to an anxious Jenna. She looked out until Jenna disappeared through the bedroom door and turned around, twisted violently at the door knob, broke it off the door and pushed it open. She stormed in and horrified at the sight. Elena sitting in her bathtub, furiously scrubbing her skin, some part on her body was skinned and was bleeding. Caroline swallowed hard as the distinct bloody smell attacked her nose. She flinched but forced herself to restrain the hunger. She hurried forward and turn off the hot steaming water, grab two big towels from the rack and wrap it around Elena shivering body. She yanked the sponged of Elena's hands, terrified as she saw Elena started scratching her skin with her nails. Caroline held both of her wrists in place, ignore her struggle and asked calmly.
"'Lena. What's wrong?"
When Elena looked up, Caroline found fear loaded up in her as she looked into Elena's empty, emotionless eyes.
"Elena … You're scaring me. What happened?"
Caroline rubbed her shoulder, trying to comfort her friend. She had never seen Elena like this before. Elena was strong, independent and fun. Not this. No.
"Elena .."
Something broke in Caroline's voice. Elena looked like she finally realized Caroline was there.
"Care …"
That was all she could manage before she broke into tears. She fell onto
Caroline's shoulder and sobbed as Caroline held her close, hushing her.
Caroline quietly placed the cover onto Elena's body. Her hands were trembling with anger. After 2 hours kneeling beside Elena in her bathroom, Caroline was furious when she found out what happened since the last time she saw her best friend. It took all of her control to not storm out of there and tore out someone's throat. She kept her temper, eased Elena to bed after giving her a few sleeping pills. When she heard Elena's heartbeats became steady, her breathing slowed down and steady. She stood up, walked out of the room, asked Jenna to call her immediately if Elena woke up. When she was finally out of Jenna's sight. She darted out, running with vampire speed, what she had always hated because it messed up her hair, but she couldn't care less then, heading straight to the Salvatore's house, Caroline growled and forced her legs to move even faster.
Damon was leaning back on his bar counter when all the air in his got knocked out as Caroline tackled him, caught him off guard. He was so distracted he didn't even hear her coming into the house. He flung across the room, hit the wall and fell down on the hard floor. Before he was able to look up, Caroline drove a broken wooden stick through his stomach. She itched the stake up and up, heading to his heart. Damon struggled as she flung the other hand to snatch at his throat, tighten her grab around it, her nails dug into his skin, blood started oozing out . Caroline's face was twisted in pure hatred and angst, her fangs showed up through her curved back lips, her eyes as red as blood with veins visibly covering the skin under them, she let out hissing that sounded like a big snake on its attack. Damon felt the stake touched his heart, terrified yet surprised to see he couldn't flip the situation and broke her grip. He gasped as the stake plunged into a part of his heart when suddenly the pressure was released. He collapsed down to his knee, jerked the stick out of his body, gaping for air as he waited for his wounds to heal. Across the floor, Caroline was struggling in Stefan's arms. Stefan almost pinned her to the floor with his hands on her arms and his knees on her legs.
"Hey, hey. Calm down. Calm down Caroline!"
Stefan hushed at her, his brows creased hard on his forehead as he trying to calm Caroline down, knowing he was hurting her with his grips on her body. Caroline finally stopped struggling against his hold, lied down on the carpet under her, panting heavily. Stefan sat up to her side, held her up into an embrace, looking over her shoulder to stare at Damon, questioning. He couldn't read a thing from Damon's expression, Damon looked rather surprised at the attack but somehow Stefan felt like he knew why. Damon darted out as soon as his wounds healed enough to allow him to move. Caroline jerked up in Stefan's arms, about to follow, but Stefan held her tighter, placing his lips on her shoulder, hushing to keep her still. When she finally calmed down, Stefan let go and before he could ask again, Caroline started pacing around the scatter of the living room, spilling the story. Stefan felt his heart plunged down somewhere near his stomach at each of her words. When she finally stopped talking, he walked over to her, hug her tight, not sure it was to calm her or calm himself down.
