A/N: So it turns out it kinda took us two years to get back around to this story but don't worry, this update is really long so we hope that makes up for it! Also we don't own anything mention in this story and all rights belong to their owners.
P.s. This is not proofread and we sincerely apologize for the many little mistakes as I'm sure there are many, but both of us are too lazy to proofread 88 pages. With that being said, we hope you enjoy.
The wind was cool as it caused his cape to billow behind him. He made his way to a neighboring town called Hogsmeade which was a short fifteen minute walk. Filius Flitwick had given Batman an issue of the Dailey Prophet as he read about the issues the neighboring town has been having mysterious attacks and break-ins saying the death eaters are behind it. He was in the staff room at the time where they talked about closing the Hogsmeade trips for the students. If he couldn't protect Gotham, then he would protect the school and Hogsmeade he thought was in his jurisdiction. The students did visit there often, and therefore he had to make sure it was safe. It might also prove his innocence for Minerva and he could therefore gain her trust and learn more about the magical world through her.
The streets of Hogsmeade were deserted and quiet. He sat like a statue on top of one of the rooftops as he was perfectly still. He slightly tilted his head to one side as heard a faint small noise. It was his cue, and swiftly but quietly moved towards the sound. There in a small ally way was a slightly opened door. It was too much of a cliché, but he had to check it out anyway. He slowly pushed the door open, and he peered through the dark. There was a chuckle from the corner as there stood a man in dark black cloaks that almost perfectly blended into the shadows. There was muffled screaming for sure, but the man's body had hidden whatever was causing the screaming. This was too easy he thought. Batman had made advancement towards the man in an inhuman speed as his strong arms had clasped around the man's neck and turned him around to get a closer look at him. He wasn't much to look at. His face was red and blotchy and he was indeed holding someone captive. A woman with dirty blonde curls had started to gasp for air.
"Are you alright?" Batman asked in his low monotone voice which sent chills down most of the people he faced. Before she could answer her eyes grew big and he saw that the man had his wand out.
"Crucio." the man said and before he knew it he felt immense pain surge through his body. All his muscles tensed up as he felt like his body was burning from within. There was a sudden angry yowl from a cat. It was a gray tabby with distinct black markings around the eyes. Almost like squares. It emerged from the dark and transformed in mid-air with a faint pop as before him stood a woman with dark skinny legged jeans and a dark black blouse that blended with her raven hair. The only contrast was her ivory pale skin that glowed in the dim light. Her face was masked by a black mask that covered around the eyes. Batman's limbs felt weak as he couldn't move. The young woman withdrew her wand in lightning speed as a red beam of light had emitted from the wand, and then Batman started to go in and out of consciousness. He heard yelling and incantations being shot back and forth as there were screaming from the woman who was being held captive. It was ended with the sound of the howling of a man in pain shortly followed by a loud thump. The man was down thought Batman but was he was slipping consciousness fast. The last thing he saw were penetrating emerald green eyes look into his and then he saw black.
Batman jolted up as he found himself in a dark room where the only light was coming from the fire place. Before he could do anything further, a firm hand gently forced him back down.
"No sudden movements." scolded a woman's voice. It sounded like Minerva's but he couldn't see her face. All he could see were those familiar green eyes. She cooled his face by applying a damp cloth on his forehead. He was lying on an uncomfortable couch that had a red tartan blanket draped on the back.
"You should have not ventured from Hogwarts. You're a muggle in a magical world. This suit," the woman said with a smirk on her face as she knocked on his padded outfit, "may protect you from bullets, but not spells and curses." Batman then grabbed her hand before she could remove it. The hand was soft and smooth to his touch as he realized she had removed his gloves and cape. All that was left was his under armor. Even his mask was removed leaving his identity exposed to her. She looked at him with her penetrating green eyes as he tried to look for any answers in them, but they revealed nothing.
"Who are you?" he asked.
She quickly pulled her hand out of his and answered equably, "No one."
Batman awoke the next morning in a large bedroom where all the male guests had to share a room. All the head houses agreed that it would be unethical if they slept in one of their house's chambers since they didn't even sleep with the children. They had their own private living quarters and the guests should receive one too while they are staying here. Batman wondered whether he was dreaming or not. What had happened last night? He remembered he had experienced the most excruciating pain he has ever felt. Then a gray tabby cat with peculiar markings had emerged from the darkness only to transform into a woman with Minerva's green eyes and condescending tone of voice, but it couldn't be her. The woman before him looked young and around her late twenties. Her ivory pale skin was smooth and her hand was soft to the touch. Her smirk on her red rose lips was of confidence and powerful, but yet merciful.
The time had come for the dreaded group therapy session where Dumbledore was in charge of all the new guests and the heads of the houses were there for moral support.
"Where's Pomona?" asked Minerva to Filius Flitwick.
"She's over in Hogsmeade comforting Madame Rosmerta. Did you know she was a victim of an attack last night?" he asked astonished. Minerva acted shocked as well.
"Really, I hope she's alright." Minerva exclaimed while Batman eyed her suspiciously. It couldn't be her. She was too old to fit the part, but yet she had the same charisma, color skin, hair, and eyes.
"Hello everyone, and welcome to the first group therapy session. I think we shall all start off by explaining a bit about ourselves. Joker, would you like to go first? Tell us what you think might have made you how you are today." Dumbledore addressed everyone. The other Gotham residents sighed, knowing that The Joker never told the same story of his past twice.
"Well, you see Dumbles, I lived in a nice house, very quiet, good family, but my father was mixed up with the wrong sort of people. When I was about seven, my father's 'job' finally started to cause problems for my family. You see my father made a lot of enemies, and one day my father didn't hold up his end of the bargain, so this man felt he had to take something from my father if he couldn't take money. So this guy, real big, just like that Hagrid guy, came bursting in my humble home one night. He attacked my mom, said she was an ugly little whore, no wonder my dad was with another. I came down when I heard her screams and found the guy just zipping back up his pants. My mom was crying, telling me to run, but the man kicked her and drew his gun. Put it to her head and pulled the trigger, I was splattered with her blood. I was scared and tried to run, but the man grabbed my arm and put a blade to my neck. He asked me, what's wrong? Why so sad? Come on, Why…So….SERIOUS!? Come now you little bastard, let's put a smile on that face! And then he put the blade in my mouth and carved a smile on to my face. I killed him of course, wouldn't you? But I must admit, he helped me find the funnier side of life. After that I found my dad and taught a lesson he won't forget about forgetting to smile." The Joker finished with a laugh and looked around. Most of the teacher had horrified looks on their faces while his fellow villains were trying to suppress laughter. The bat clan didn't look too impressed.
"That's…that's horrible! You poor thing! How could anyone do that to a child?" asked Poppy looking worriedly at the Joker's smiling face.
"Don't feel too badly for him, he changes his story every time you ask." said Batman with a roll of his eyes.
"I only change it every time because if I tell the truth…"the Joker didn't finish his statement as he looked at batman in utter horror and cringed slightly towards Two-Face who happened to be sitting on the same couch as The Clown.
"You did that to him didn't you?! You beat him!" accused the nurse then turned her attention back to the Joker," You poor thing! Does he hurt you a lot?" they Joker's only response was him throwing his arms around Two-Face and pretending to sob into his shoulder. Two-face just sighed and pat his green hair, already use to the Joker's antics.
"What! But! I didn't...I don't!" the Batman stuttered trying to explain but could find the words under the glare of the over protective Medi-witch. The silence was broken by the joker falling to the floor laughing along with the other criminals. The teachers just looked confused, but decide to ignore it and continue on. Batman turned back to the laughing group, still wary of the Nurse's glare on his back.
"Well that was…interesting, any volunteers to go next?" asked the aging man as he looked around expectantly.
"Two-Face here wants to go!" said the Joker from the floor as he readjusted his position to lean back against the scared man's legs. The man sighed, and then smiled, an idea coming to mind.
"I used to be a lawyer and engaged to the most beautiful woman alive, until HE," Two-Face said as he pointed to Batman, "ruined it all. He was jealous of me and kidnapped my fiancé and I on the night before our wedding and set us up in two separate warehouses full of oil and explosives. We could talk through a phone and I told her that I loved her and that it would be okay. I tried to escape but fell over and soaked half my body in the oil. I had to listen as she screamed, as he…as he…raped her. When the police arrived the warehouse caught fire, also catching the oil soaked half of my face on fire. I refused skin grafts as a reminder of what HE," again he gestured to Batman, "did to me." the man finished with fake tears running down his skinned side of his face. The joker then stood and hugged the man.
"It's okay, he's hurt us all, and I thought I was messed up." consoled the Joker. Poppy looked fuming while Snape looked uninterested. Minerva was looked from all the different faces as she tried to sort out who was the one being honest and who was not.
"You are! You were the one who did that. This is it, Professor Dumbledore, I didn't do any of this!" screamed Batman as he got up immediately from his chair. Batgirl and Robin got up to hold their friend back from causing harm to anyone.
"Well he clearly has anger management issues." Snape jeered as he looked at Batman. "I'm afraid Batman that Halloween hasn't arrived yet. You're a month early." Batman looked at Snape with dangerous eyes.
"You're the one to talk Severus." interjected Minerva. "You look like an overgrown greasy bat yourself."
"Nice one." commented the Joker. Batman wasn't sure if he should take offense to Minerva's statement, or be thankful that someone had spoken up for him.
"There are many unpleasant things you look like Minerva, but at least I have the decency not to mention any to you." snapped Snape. Minerva looked at him with livid eyes as Dumbledore went to stand in between them to keep them from keep the fight from continuing.
"You can quarrel later, is anyone else willing to share?" Dumbledore asked.
"I'll go." said Cat Woman, "About four years ago, I was just waitress, and then Batman swept me off my feet. He was a great boyfriend at first, practically perfect. He was always kind, complementing me, but then, thing…changed, he changed. He started to seem frustrated and angry all the time, when I asked if I had done something wrong, he just got this, strange glint in his eye. Then one day he came home and walked in to our room. I was asleep, but was woken up by him pulling me from the bed and throwing me to the ground. He started to insult me and beat me, then he… he…" by now tears had been pouring down her face and she stopped to let out a sob. Minerva raised an eyebrow in disbelief. Madame Pomfrey had come to Cat Woman's side as she hugged her.
"It's alright dear, your quite safe from him now." she reassured her.
"Hold on Poppy, things doesn't seem to match up." Minerva pointed out. Now all eyes were on her including Batman's.
"For a rape victim, I would imagine the victim would refrain from flirting with her rapist." she pointed out. Cat Woman looked up at the elderly Woman with stained tracks of fake tears down the sides of her face.
"How could I flirt with the man who took away the daughter we had created?" she asked as she started to sob once again.
"It's alright darling. We'll find her." Poppy soothed her as she patted her on the head.
"No." Cat Woman said as she shook her head. "He killed her."
"I did not kill her! How could I when you took her away!" yelled Batman as he'd had enough with them blaming their pathetic lives on him.
"How could you say that? She was beautiful; she was your own flesh and blood! You know what you did!" screamed Cat Woman. Batman was furious and over the edge.
"I think we're getting a little too carried away here. I for one sure don't think Batman raped you. You were throwing yourself at him yesterday." Minerva pointed out once again. Poppy looked at her dear friend Minerva and then at Cat Woman.
"I would be happy to give the memory to you Albus, but seeing that we have no time left in today's meeting, we shall leave it for next time."
"Yes indeed, well I for sure am hungry. Is anyone else?" asked Dumbledore looking around. None of the staff had an appetite after the horrific stories they have just heard, but the villains hadn't lost theirs.
"Right then, off to the Great Hall for dinner." Dumbledore instructed and left the room. Batman couldn't move as he was so tense and angry. Cat Woman and the rest that have shared their false stories had slowly gotten up as they acted like they were depressed.
"Hey has anyone seen Scarecrow?" asked the Riddler as he had just noticed. Everyone had left except for Batman and Minerva. She had come up to his and looked down upon him.
"You didn't do all those things did you?" she asked.
Batman just merely shook his head. "No, I didn't."
"Then I believe you. We should head to dinner. You look like you could use some food in you." she said with the familiar smirk he had seen last night. Her green eyes looked into his dark ones and then she turned and left the room. It had to be her he thought.
The two arrived at dinner to see everyone at the seats they sat in earlier, only the two female villains had moved to the Huffelpuff table and were currently attempting to annoy the youngest crime fighters. Minerva left for the head table and Batman located the joker and went to keep an eye on him. As he approached the Gryffindor table, he overheard The Joker asking a black haired boy something.
"Hey kid, how'd you get that scar?" The Joker said as he leaned across the table to peer at the lightning shaped line.
"Uhhh…."was all the shy boy said.
"Want to know how I got mine?" the Joker then asked as he leaned back from looking at Harry's scar.
"He kissed Minnie!" stared Fred with a grin.
"And got rejected!" finished George.
"Really?" asked Harry interested
"Bloody hell no!" the twins said simultaneously. They laughed and Harry joined in. The Joker just watched in interest.
"So who are you?" questioned the clown to Harry.
"Harry Potter" answered the boy.
"Nice to meet cha! You can call me, The Joker." said the clown before he reached across the table to grasp Harry's hand and shake it violently.
"Nice to meet you too, I guess."
"You seem like a smart kid, do you know anything about this Lord Voldie fellow?" asked the Joker with a grin. Harry snorted at the name The Joker gave Voldemort.
"He is a dark wizard who is trying to take over the world because he believes every not of 'pure blood' to be below him, even though he's a half blood himself." replied Harry.
"So…where is he now?"
"I think he is still just still floating black thing since his last host got killed." explained Harry.
"Oh...really? How…interesting…who killed him?" questioned the green haired man.
"Harry gave him the poke of death!" exclaimed the twins in unison.
"It is not my fault he burned at my touch! And how do you know about that?" said Harry eyeing the red headed twins.
"We have our connections." replied George as Harry eyed them doubtfully.
"Okay, we overheard you and Ron talking about It." said Fred.
"Well so anyone know how to catch this black smoke?" asked the Joker with a mischievous grin on his face.
Over that the Ravenclaw table, The Riddler was in a very interesting conversation with a blond haired girl named Luna Lovegood.
"Rip one off and scratch its head, what once was red is black instead. What is it?" asked The Riddler.
"A match. I never am, am always to be, no one ever saw, nor every will and yet I am the confidence of all to live a breath on this terrestrial ball. What am I?" Luna replied with a dreamy smile and far off look.
"Tomorrow," the Riddler simply answered before he shot one back to her, "what comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, and never in a thousand years?"
"The letter M. When you don't know it, it is something, but when you know it, it is nothing, what is it?" replied Luna without missing a beat.
"It's a riddle." The Riddler laughed and then continued his riddle off with Luna. Two-face watched the two try to out riddle each other and shook his head, not understanding their strange conversation. Instead he busied himself in wizard history books of famous trials and riots through their history. He already knew everything about muggle history and was intrigued as to how the two worlds had intertwined with each other, but the muggle world still knew nothing of the magical world. Poison Ivy and Cat Woman sat at the Huffelpuff table as they would taunt Batgirl and Robin. After a while though the two stopped responding and they got up and left, Ivy going to talk with Two-Face and Cat woman went to flirt with Batman at the Gryffindor table. She placed her finger lightly on his shoulder as it reached up to his neck. Batman flinched to the touch.
"Oh you're so tense." she teased.
"Get away from me Selina!" Batman growled as he hit her hand away.
"What's a matter Bruce?" she asked and then bent low to his ear. "Do you ever think of me?" She then purred and laughed as Batman abruptly got up.
"Flirting with your rapists again, interesting." interrupted Minerva as she was behind Cat Woman with her hands on her hips. Cat Woman just hissed and stepped away from Batman and scowled at Minerva as Minerva returned the glare.
"Talk to you soon Batman." she said seductively as she then strut away as her tight fitted leather suit shined under the candle light and her black tail dangled in the rhythm of her gait. Minerva smirked as she looked at the woman's costume.
"Thanks." Batman said to Minerva as he drew her from her thought.
"Oh…you're welcome. Good night Batman, or should I say Bruce." she said and winked. Batman wondered if she had overheard them, or did she simply know more about him than he thought. He made sure no one was watching him as he stealthy made his way out of the Great Hall to follow her. He heard the clicking of her heels against the stone floor. He ran to catch up, but then the noise of her shoes stopped. He could see her silhouette illuminated by the little glow from the torches on the wall. She looked around as if she had heard him. He quickly moved behind a suit of armor to keep from being seen. Were witches senses heightened than muggles, or did she just have inhuman senses of hearing? When he turned to see if she was still there he saw that there was no one there. Where had she gone?
It was passed curfew, but the Joker didn't care. He never followed the rules. He found himself in the dungeons looking for Scarecrow. As he continued down the hall in search of Jonathan he turned and corner and ran head first into a cloaked figure, knocking both men to the ground. The Joker jumped up giggling and offered his hand to Snape, who turned out to be the man he knocked over. The man grasped his hand, but let go with a yelp as The Joker laughed and showed his palm which had a muggle Joy Buzzer in the center of it.
"I've killed people with this thing before. You're lucky you let go. Sooooooooooo….what was that thing on your arm that you didn't show me earlier?" the Joker said smiling at the scowling man.
"Nothing that concerns you." sneered the man.
"Come on it can't be that bad." said the Joker as he tackled Snape back to the ground. The wrestled on the floor before The Joker managed to pin the slightly larger man to the ground facedown with his left forearm pinned to his back. Still holding him down, the clown pulled up Snape's sleeve up and looked at the dark mark that stained his inner arm.
"What's this?" questioned the madman.
"That's none of your business!" exclaimed the captured man. The Joker rolled his eyes and pushed the man's arm up farther, threatening to snap it.
"You sure it's not?" asked the Joker with a grin.
"Fine! It's the dark mark." exclaimed Snape, not wanting to deal with the madman any longer, but the clown wasn't done interrogating him.
"And what is this 'dark mark'?" grinned the Clown.
"Just a tattoo…" Snape attempted to convince The Joker. All he got was his arm being twisted a little harder.
"Are you sure that's all it is?"
"Yes, that's all it is!"
"Fine, then I'm sure you won't mind me telling the general population about your cool tattoo and offer to give them to students then, will you?" said the giggling madman.
"NO, please don't do that!"
"That's what I thought! Now be a good bat and tell me what I want to hear…" Snape heard the unsaid threat and quickly began explaining the dark mark and anything else the madman wanted to know, fully knowing he was not a clown to be messed with. When he finished explaining, the Joker let him up and walked away with a grin, his laughter echoing through the halls. A shiver went down, Snape's spine as he hurried back to his rooms, not up to finishing monitoring the halls.
After the encounter with Snape, the Joker continued on with his original mission to find Scarecrow. Eventually he found him in an abandoned class room, different random ingredients scattered randomly on the tables around him. The scientist was carefully pouring a liquid, what he suspected to be fear toxin, in to the metal canisters he always seemed to have on him. Slowly he sneaked up behind him and lunged at him, covering the man's eyes with his hands.
"Guess who!" the clown exclaimed happily. He got a cloud of toxin to his face for his efforts. The clown laughed hysterically and stepped away from the surprised scientist.
"I don't understand why my toxin never affects you." said Scarecrow with a sigh.
"I don't know Jonny Boy! Maybe you didn't make this batch right? You know having only magical things to make it with?" questioned the Laughing Clown. Crane glared at the clown for the name then shook his head in denial and pointed to the far corner, where a student sat curled up in a ball muttering nonsense with tears streaming down his face. The Joker laughed.
"You know Jonny, with all this magical crap, I bet your fear toxin could use an upgrade…" the Joker trailed off as he watched the thought pass through Crane's eyes.
"Interesting idea…" said the scientist and he turned back to the paper he was writing on and began to formulate the equation.
"But that can wait till tomorrow! Cause even crazy scientists need their sleep! Besides, you need to hear about the group therapy you missed!" and with that the Joker slung his arm around Scarecrow's shoulder and dragged him back to the rooms him and the other Crazies shared.
Joker wasn't the only one who roamed the corridors at night. Batman needed to get away from the insane Gotham villains in order to keep the rest of his sanity intact. The corridors were dark and quiet. It was peaceful as it was empty of loud students roaming to class. There was then a dark shadow from the corner of his eye. He turned and saw a young boy with a messy black uneven hair. He had round rimmed glasses that scanned his surroundings to make sure he was by himself. Batman found this to be suspicious and odd, so he stayed behind to see what the boy was really up to.
The boy had a weird red mark on his forehead of a lightening mark as he had a little back pack that he stashed in an abandoned unused teaching room. The boy then rushed back down the corridors as he passed Batman. Once the boy was gone Batman went to investigate further into what was inside the bag. Inside was a dark black cloak. It was silky and soft as it felt like water in his fingers. As he inspected it, he realized that his figures had disappeared underneath the fabric. He concurred that the cloak was some kind invisibility mechanism. It was exactly what he needed if he wanted to find out what Minerva was really up to.
He wrapped it around him as it felt like nothing. He walked back through the halls unseen, hoping he'd eventually run into her. It was not long after he passed the Great Hall that he heard the familiar sound of heels clicking against the cold stone floor. He knew it was her. He swiftly made his way to the noise. He soon caught up and saw Minerva as she walked through the halls. Her green eyes glanced around her as she looked for any signs of movement. He watched her and studied her carefully. Her every move was carefully mentally noted as he followed her.
After some time, she walked up to a painting of an old wizard and said, "Ginger newts." The painting then swung open and Batman slipped through after her before the door closed. It led into a darkroom which was suddenly illuminated by blazing flames in the fireplace. He then saw the familiar caramel colored couch draped in the red tartan blanket. He was in the same room as he was in last night.
Minerva made her way to the desk in the far end as she briefly looked at the pieces of parchment that laid scattered there. All were in the same place as she had left it. Batman watched her as he sat down on the couch he was on last night to see if it really was the same couch and it was as it was stiff and uncomfortable.
Batman returned his attention to Minerva who had then taken off her square rimmed glasses and squeezed the bridge of her nose as she looked tired and stressed out. She surprisingly didn't put them back on as if she didn't need them to see. She made her way across the room to a door in which led to her bedroom. Batman contemplated the thought to whether he should follow her into her private chambers, but he didn't have enough time to choose as the door was closed. He couldn't reopen it without her suspicions so he waited outside the door.
Batman looked around her room at the moving photographs where there were few. One was in a silver glass frame in which there was a tall slender woman in a red tartan dress to show off her hour glass figure. She had long black tresses of hair and warm brown eyes. She stood smiling next to a lean tall well-built man with a button up shirt and khakis. The man had chocolate brown hair with a thin face and high cheekbones and green eyes like Minerva's. In front of the smiling couple was a little girl with black long hair like the woman's and fair skin. Though the girl's bone structure in the face was of the man's as she had his dazzling green emerald eyes as well. Beside her was a young boy who looked like the man in the picture. He figured he was looking at the younger Minerva with her parents and younger brother. They looked like a normal middle class family.
Another picture was of Minerva in cap and gown smiling next to a woman with golden locks of hair and gray blue eyes. Minerva's smile was genuine as he saw how happy she was. The last he looked at was of Minerva standing beside two men. One he recognized as a younger Albus Dumbledore. He could tell by his blue shimmering eyes and half-moon spectacles, and his beard and hair was of an auburn shade. The other man was a man with blonde hair and heavily scared face. He had a wooden leg as they all smiled back. The three were covered in dirt, grim, and gashes over their bodies. He wondered what the photograph was from.
The silent click of the door opening alerted him that someone was entering the room. He turned around to see that the bedroom door had opened and there standing at the door frame was the woman he saw last night. Her raven black hair was this time up in a loose bun as her dark black simple mask sealed her identity. She had on black long pants and a tight black silk shirt. She was stunningly beautiful. Suddenly a black traveling cloak whizzed by his head just missing him as the woman caught it in the air and wrapped it around her slender shoulders. The young woman sauntered towards the fire place as she grabbed a handful of what looked like silver dust. The fire turned an emerald green as she stepped in. He was apprehensive to follow her into the fire, but he knew not to hesitate this time, or it might be too late. He stepped in beside her.
"Three Broomsticks." she said loud and clear as she threw the dust to her feet. Before he knew it he felt a strong force pulling him backwards as he felt like his insides were being ripped out. The sudden pain was replaced by nausea as he opened his eyes to see that he was in another fireplace in what looked like a pub. The lights were out as the chairs set on the clean wood tables. In the corner of the room sat the same dirty blonde haired woman he had seen the previous night. She looked up to see the vigilante standing before her. The young woman made her way towards the other woman who was now trembling.
"Rosmerta, do not be afraid. I told you last night I would check up on you, and so here I am." assured the dark haired woman.
Rosmerta still trembled as her blue eyes stared large and wide at the masked woman before her as she uttered, "What do you want from me?" The masked Woman took the chair down that was facing opposite of Rosmerta and sat down.
"I wanted to ask you if you knew the man who had attacked and why."
"I…I…..don't….know. It could….could have been a death eater that's…..that's working for…for Sirius Black. He….he escaped Azkaban you know. Only person in his-history to escape Azkaban." she stammered as shivers ran down her back every time she mentioned Azkaban.
"I know, but can you think of any reason why they would want you?" the masked woman asked again more stern than before.
Rosmerta just shook her head. "I'm sorry I don't know." The masked woman sighed and got up from the table as she set the chair back to where it was.
"Thank you for your time. Keep safe." the masked woman told Rosmerta as she left the pub and walked down the streets for a few seconds before turning into the gray tabby cat with the distinct markings. Batman followed closely behind only to find himself sitting next to the cat on a roof top. The cat sat perfectly still as her ear slightly twitch from a slight noise. Batman listened as well.
The cat then suddenly jumped down onto a lower ledge and down to the ground. Once it landed on its four paws, it darted down an alley way. Batman kept a close watch at it as he ran the same path from the roof tops. The cat transformed into the tall masked woman with a faint pop. Her wand moved in lightning speed as tearing of a garment could be heard. The Wizard turned in shock as he faced the heroine. There on his left forearm laid the mark that Minerva had been talking about earlier.
"Isn't it late at night for you to be wandering around?" she asked as her voice cut like daggers. The man smirked. He was middle aged with rugged dark brown hair.
"So you're the famous young female vigilante." he mocked. "Shouldn't you be running along now and play with your dolls?"
"But this is far more entertaining than playing with dolls." she chided, "Where were you going?"
"What makes you think I'm going to tell you?" he asked with a cunning voice.
"I'll give you to the count of three to tell me what I want to hear, and let's just say you don't want to know what happens after three, or worse, what happens if you lie." she threatened. The man merely laughed at the confident young witch before him.
"One…..two….." still no reply from the man, and before she could say three, the man had whipped out his wand as a red beam of light had suddenly came her way. She dodged it with ease as she struck the air with her wand sending his wand flying through the air. He was now powerless. He looked defeated as he was at her mercy.
"That wasn't very smart of you." she retorted. When he went to move for his wand she sent a red jet of beam like he did towards the wand causing him to back away. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
He just sniggered and then the wand had flown in the air to his hands as he dodged the hex she had sent. Curses had been simultaneously been sent back and forth between them as they wasted no time in using a shielding charm. Batman was surprised by the woman's flexibility and agility. She slowly moved her way closer to the wizard as he moved back since he seemed to notice what she was up to. Few words were spoken, but if ever one slipped it was from him. She was more skilled in wordless magic, but then her wand flew from her grasp as he caught it in the air. He laughed wickedly.
"How does it feel to have the shoe on the other foot?" he joked and smiled as he thought he truly had her. He shot out more curses only for her to dodge them. The magic was so strong between them that even Batman could feel a weird tingly feeling with in him. There was a sudden gust of wind as it caused her traveling cloak to billow behind her as she swiftly moved. Her agile slender body was memorizing as Batman watched from the sidelines. She moved just as well as he could, but she couldn't hold up forever as just then one had nicked her on her side above the waist. She toppled onto her knees as her hand gripped to the new wound. Crimson red blood had now stained her fingers. The wizard laughed triumphantly when he saw the blood seeping out of her. He made his way slowly, tauntingly as he stared at his young victim.
"Such a shame that a pretty witch like you has to die." he trifled in a gruff tone. He circled her and Batman wondered if he should step in. He didn't want to blow his cover but he didn't want her to die either. Instead he decided he would hold out a bit longer.
The wizard went to brush a loose strand of dark hair that had fallen from her bun out of her face. She swiftly grabbed his arm as she pulled him down. The action was done quickly as he didn't have time to react as she had physically pinned him to the ground. Her hand had retrieved the wands from his hand as she gripped hers and put his in her belt.
Her hand pressed his face firmly into the hard cold cobble stones. Their sharp edges protruded into his flesh. Batman had watched it all as he marveled at her strength. She had him at wand point as it was pressed against the back of his neck threatening to puncture a hole and let the fresh warm blood trickle down.
"Such a pity for you to lose to a pretty witch like myself." she spat in a mocking tone of voice. Her long fingers griped his hair, drawing his head back before smacking his head hard against the pavement. He let out a cry of pain from the blow. She then pulled his hair again to lift his head up. His face winced in discomfort as his eyes shut closed.
"Now be a good boy and tell me what all the death eaters are here, and maybe I'll delay your death." She spat. He struggled against her, but her wand only wound him tightly in silver string.
"Kill me then, I will never talk!" he yelled. Her face distorted in anger as she would love to kill the death eater underneath her, but she would never be able to bring herself to do it. Nor would she torture him further for information.
"Give your friends a message for me would you?" she asked, but didn't wait for a reply as she continued. "Tell them I'm watching them. Stupefy!" she yelled and the man's body underneath her was limp and motionless.
Batman couldn't believe his eyes. Did she just kill the man? She got up from the ground, and despite her bleeding from her wound she dragged the man to the side with a little note she always left with the fallen death eaters. Batman went to move towards her to see the letter only to step in a puddle causing the masked woman to become aware of his presence. She whirled around as she shot a hex from her wand. Batman ducked, but it had hit him as it caused the cloak to fall to his side in a heap. The masked woman stared at Batman disbelieving as he read her face of shock.
She took off in a run down an alley. He quickly grabbed the fallen cloak as he ran after her. With his unearthly speed he was able to catch up with her, but she made sharp turns causing him to go reeling and having to turn around several times giving her distance from him. He slipped the cloak over him so she could no longer see him or calculate how far or near he was to her. She focused on the path ahead of her only to collide hard. Batman removed his cloak as she could see it was him, but before she would react, he grabbed her wrist as he shoved her up against the wall causing pain to rush over her shoulder blades. Her hands were forced above her head so she couldn't reach for her wand.
"You killed him didn't you?" he asked harshly. She breathed heavily trying to catch her breath. His gripped tightened around her wrists as he shook her to get an answer. Her wrists started to bruise and pain had rushed up her left side in which she bared the deep cut which started to bleed again. She shook her head.
"No, now let go of me now!" she commanded as her pale ivory skin was now flushed red.
"You're not in the position to issue orders, Minerva!" he yelled at her with equal amount of fierceness in his voice. Her green eyes were dangerous as she had a venomous look. With a faint pop she was out of his grasp. She ran down the alley way in her cat form, hiding herself in the shadows. He had lost sight of her and he punched the wall in frustration. The sound of his fist striking with the hard brick causing it to break under his strength sent chills up the masked woman's spine. She had swiftly made her way into a closed abandoned dark dusty shop as she transformed back to her human form. She looked down at her side as she was losing a considerable amount of blood. She breathed heavily, trying to stifle the pain. She had stumbled into the fireplace and got out the silver dust of floo powder.
"Hogwarts." she uttered under her pain. She was sent back to Hogwarts to her own room. She crawled to her bathroom where she cleaned the wound before fully healing it with a wave of her wand. Her breathing settled as the pain had subsided.
Batman had found his way back to the death eater. He looked at the note as he read:
Don't forget to deliver the message
It was written neatly and clearly left for him. Thankfully Batman had felt a pulse on the man's wrist and he noticed it was his left. He shifted his eyes to look at the mark that was brandied to his skin. It was done in black ink as it was of a skull with a snake protruding from its mouth. She had told him the truth, and he realized he shouldn't have been so rash and rough with her.
He made his way back to the castle silently. He felt guilty about the whole thing and wished she would accept his apology. He too wrapped up with his thoughts that he didn't notice the sudden shift of temperature. He could see his breath in front of him fog up. He felt even more depressed for some reason as if he'd never be happy again. He then felt a shiver go up his spine as he saw a heavily black cloaked figure move towards him as there were three more just like it advancing on him. He backed away only to run into one behind him. He spun around and the cloaked figure had his mouth open soaking what seemed like all the air inside his lungs, all the life within him. He couldn't move. There was an unexpected bright ball of light that moved across his line of vision and he felt himself passing out once again.
He felt warmth against his face. He opened his eyes as he stared at the open dancing flames in the fireplace. He sat up only to feel weak, tried, and completely drained.
"Don't make any sudden movements." scolded a familiar voice. He quickly turned around hoping to see the masked woman but instead it was Minerva as her normal self. She was wearing a white silk nightdress with matching robes to go with it as it hung loosely around her thin tall frame. She handed him something in a wrapped plastic package.
"Here eat this; it will make you feel better." Minerva exclaimed and he took it from her hands. It said Chocolate Frogs on the wrapper and it was indeed in a form of a chocolate frog.
"What in the name of Merlin were you doing outside of Hogwarts's gates?" Minerva asked furiously with her hands on her hips and lips thinned.
"I was only following you." he said as he expected to get a reaction with this, but she shook her head nonchalantly.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I've been here since midnight until I had to do my nightshift round. You were lucky that I started on the grounds first or else the Dementors would have sucked your soul out before I could reach you." He arched his eyebrow, but unlike last night, she kept the mask on his face.
"No you went to Hogsmeade where you checked on Madame Rosmerta. Then you had a fight with a wizard. Oh how's your side?"
"My side, what would be wrong with my side?" she questioned as she looked confused, but he knew she was lying. Making her confess would be harder than he thought.
"I guess you must've hit your head on something before the dementor attack. Maybe I should scan your brain to see if you damaged it." Minerva suggested, but he moved away from her wand. Knowing what it could do didn't make him comfortable around it.
He caught her off guard as he hung his head and whispered, "I would just like to ask for your forgiveness."
"What for?"
"I think you know what I mean Professor. I was hard on you tonight when you were telling the truth and I'm sorry." he looked up at her now seeing if it would work. Her eyes didn't meet his as if she was trying to hold back her emotions for his apology.
"I think you should head back to your dormitory. It's late and you should be in bed." she reprimanded him as if he was one of her students, but he ignored the coldness in her voice.
"May I see the masked woman I desire? May I see how she is?" he asked as he seemed concerned. He was since the wound she had taken seemed deep as blood was cascading from it when he had shoved her up against the wall.
"I don't know who the masked woman is that you're talking about, but it's-"
"Is this not you?" Batman interrupted her as he grabbed one of the photographs he was looking at before. It was the one with her standing with Albus Dumbledore, and her dear friend Alastor Moody.
"Yes it is, if your referring to the woman in the photograph." she humored him, but he wasn't in the mood.
"Then you are the masked woman. These two women in the photograph are identical, and the only thing keeping from you and her is age."
"Exactly, and so there for this masked woman you are talking about is not me." she exclaimed and moved to the door. "I think this has gone far enough, and I would appreciate it if you would leave and return to your room. If I catch you out of Hogwarts one more time, then I shall have to inform Dumbledore." He knew she wouldn't admit it so he got up and walked to the door in which she had opened to indicate for him to leave her presence immediately.
When the door was closed, Batman walked back to his corridors. The events of the night kept going through his mind. It had to be her somehow. She might have him now but sooner or later, he will discover her true identity.
By the time the Batman had made it back to the dorms, his villainous roommates were happily replaying the group therapy to Scarecrow.
"It was hilarious! You should have seen those old fool's faces! I mean a few fake sobs and a tragic story and it's like pity city!" laughed the Joker. He clutched his stomach and rolled of the couch, still laughing his creepy little giggle. The clown then looked up and his smile widened at the sight of the dark figure looming in the doorway.
"Batsy! Where have you been! It's past your bed time you know!" scolded the clown as he jumped up and shook his finger at the masked man.
"I hate you." stated Batman bluntly, but the Crazies only laughed harder, "all." Batman sighed and looked around the room of laughing people, noticing his partners were nowhere to be seen, he questioned his roommates.
"What did you do to Batgirl and Robin?" he asked with a sneer.
"Us? Why do you think we had anything to do with it?" asked The Riddler as he tilted his head to the side in fake innocence.
"Because I know that you had something to do with it." The Batman glared at the riddle loving man.
"Question: Where do you put animals with wings so they can't fly away when you don't have a cage?" questioned The Riddler with a smirk on his face. The other Rogues suppressed their giggles. Batman was about to answer when he heard a muffled thump from a nearby closet. The man sighed and opened the door only to see his two friends, tied together, fall out of the closet.
"They were playing a kinky version of seven minutes in heaven!" exclaimed Cat Woman with a grin. "Do you want to play?" she purred at Batman as he just glared at her with daggers. The two bound teens tried to protest their word, but found it very hard to do with gags in their mouths. Batman pulled out a small knife and cut the two loose. The two now freed teens glared at the smiling villains before stomping up the stairs to their rooms.
"Hey Harvey, what cha reading?" asked Ivy as she leaned over and tried to snatch the book from the ex-lawyer.
"It's a book on wizarding laws and politics." He replied dodging her hand.
"Why you reading that?" she asked.
"I've got an idea." He said with a smirk while Ivy raised an eyebrow but then let it go; she really didn't care what the scared man got off on.
The next morning the group made their way down to the Great Hall again for breakfast. They quickly broke apart and wondered off to their claimed tables. The Joker quickly spotted the boys he was talking to yesterday and made his way over to them.
"Fred, George, Harry, Would you guys be up for helping me with something?" asked the grinning man. Three boys looked up at the sound of their names.
"Depends on what it is." said Harry, knowing not to fully trust people with smiles like the Joker's.
"Oh nothing big, I just need some people with a good sense of humor who would be will to, shake things up a little." As The Joker said this he looked at the three.
"We're" stared George.
"In" finished Fred.
"Expellant! What about you?" The joker turned to Harry.
"I'll…have to think about it." He replied apprehensively. He was more worried about finding his invisibility cloak than pulling a trick on someone.
"Sure thing! Take all the time you need, I'm a patient man!" The Joker smiled, this place follows the plan far too much for his liking.
After everyone had eaten Dumbledore stood up and stared to speak.
"Good morning students, I would like to ask anyone if they have any information on why Justin Gladache was found crying that in the halls last night." he asked as his blue eyes scanned the room. Scarecrow stifled his laughter and the Joker looked at Scarecrow knowing he was the one who did it. Dumbledore might have been off his rocker quite a few times in the past, but he wasn't a fool when it came to spotting the guilty.
"Well none the less, I have a feeling who it was , and I would like to hold an emergency therapy meeting with heads of the house, and the guests from Gotham City, you are dismissed." He said as he gestured with his hand for the students and remainder of the staff to leave the room. The long tables were pushed against the walls and were replaced by comfortable chairs. There was one lounging single body leather couch. The other's looked at it skeptically, but Albus just smiled with the familiar twinkle in his eyes.
Dumbledore then looked sincerely towards Scarecrow as he said, "Now I would like to call you to the couch first."
"Me there…..like actually laying on there?" questioned Scarecrow.
"Yes that's the intention." Dumbledore responded with twinkles in his eyes.
"I'd rather stay in my sit here, if you don't mind sir." Scarecrow asked with the most kindness he could muster with in him.
"Alright fair enough, just tell me, did you use fear toxin on Justin Gladache?" he asked. Scarecrow looked at him dumbfounded as he didn't understand how he knew about his fear toxin.
"Yes I know about your fear toxin." Dumbledore replied as if he was reading his mind. "You don't think I would invite the world's deadliest criminals without doing research did you?" Scarecrow had to give the man credit. He wasn't as crazy as he thought he was, but then again why would he invite all these dangerous people knowing what they could do in a school filled with children?
"Now sorry to interrupt, but looking through history here, I think Batsy here has the worst record here, and there for the most likely to use fear toxin against a student." The Joker suggested.
"I would never-"
"Just like you'd never beat me up." interjected the Joker only to cause Batman's anger rise again.
"I'm sorry, but Batman was not the one who could have done it since Mr. Gladache was found at three in the morning acting abnormal, but was last seen by his roommates' fine at ten. Batman was outside at those times and was attacked by Demenators. He was knocked out for quite some time, so no he couldn't have done it." informed Minerva.
"Yes well back to Scarecrow, did you or did you not use fear toxin on a student?" asked Dumbledore.
"Yes." confessed Scarecrow.
Dumbledore nodded his head as he said, "Thank you for your honesty, and I'll let this one slide. Just try to refrain from using it on my students or staff in the future. Do I make myself clear?" he asked.
"Clear as glass, but Dumbles," interrupted the Joker, "we shared our past, now why doesn't the staff?" The staff looked apprehensive and a bit shocked. They were here for moral support, not to share their story.
"What an excellent idea Joker. Is there any of them you wanted to share first?" asked Dumbledore as his staff looked at him incredulously. He has to be joking thought Snape and Minerva who wanted no part in this anymore.
"Well why not the greasy over larged bat with a mysterious mark on his LEFT forearm." suggested the Joker. Snape glared at the Joker menacingly as Batman looked at Snape shocked. Was the old man that stupid to have a death eater work at Hogwarts, but he was more shocked at Minerva's reaction. It wasn't a reaction at all. She just sat there still looking pissed off at Dumbledore.
"Yes Severus, go to the couch." instructed Dumbledore as he quite liked the idea.
"You must be joking sir. I'm not getting on that couch." sneered Snape.
"Well I believe you have no choice Severus, unless you want me to situate your sleeping quarters with Minerva for a week." Dumbledore threatened as he smiled at the two's reaction.
"What…..me with him for a week? Albus that's not funny." uttered Minerva. Everyone found the two professors' reaction quite amusing.
"Yeah you know I can't stand a second with Minerva. She's an insufferable old hag." blurted Snape. Minerva now averted her eyes furiously at Severus.
"Oh you're acting like a child Severus, get on that damn couch before I hex you!" snarled Minerva. Snape didn't flinch but instead his lips curled as he found this entertaining.
"You hexing me? Why Minerva, I don't think you're old bones would be able to handle the swift movement." He mocked. She went to reach for her wand, but Dumbledore grabbed her arm before she could admonish a curse. Snape smirked.
"Minerva, now don't do anything you would regret." warned Dumbledore. She pulled her arm out of his grasp.
"Minerva, you're a Gryffindor, why don't you go first?" asked Severus.
"Why Severus, are you scared?" as it was her turn to mock. "I believe that even in my old age, I heard the Joker specifically ask for you to go first."
"Yes but ladies first." he said as he indicated for Minerva to go to the couch.
"Oh Severus just go on the couch and get it over with already!" yelled Minerva.
"And you say I act like a child." Snape mumbled as he got up from his chair reluctantly and sat on the leather couch.
"Now lay down." commanded Minerva as she had won the argument and was amused by Snape's suffering. He glared at her before he laid down.
"You see Severus, now that wasn't too hard, now was it?" Dumbledore told him as he, just like Minerva, found this entertaining.
"So what should I say?" asked Severus as he just wanted to get this over with.
"Why don't you show us the mark?" asked the Joker smiling broadly at Snape.
"I will bear nothing for you."
"You did last night!" the Joker laughed at the shocked expressions that crossed most of professor's faces. The villains just laughed as The Joker had told them about his encounter with Snape.
"Well that explains why you were so fond of Lockhart, I should have known." Minerva giggled.
"Got tired of Batman, Joker?" asked Scarecrow.
"Maybe…" The Joker bust out laughing and didn't say any more.
"What was the Joker talking about when he said a 'dark mark on your left forearm'?" asked Batman eyeing the potions master.
"It's nothing." Snape said as he moved his right hand to cover the mark over the clothed mark. Batman's eyes narrowed as he saw the action.
"Alright then, I think that's enough for this session, you're free to go. Our next session will be in two days." Dumbledore said and then walked out of the room. Everyone stood and the furniture rearranged itself back to its original position. Batman saw Snape's sleeve move up enough for him to the dark mark that all death eaters have. He grasped Robins arm and pulled the boy wonder with him as they trailed behind Snape. They followed him to the dungeons before confronting him.
"You're a Death Eater, aren't you?" asked the vigilante, "I may not be in Gotham, but I still will protect the innocents from crazies like you!" The batman then lunged at the man and Robin followed close behind his teacher. Snape yelped and jumped back.
"What are you doing?!" screamed the Potion professor.
"Serving Justice!" replied Batman as he continued his attack.
"Professor Snape?" asked a voice as a student came around a corner only to see his teacher fighting the two costumed heroes. Snape reached behind him and pulled the boy into the fight.
"Keep Bird Boy busy or you have a detention!" instructed the teacher. Harry looked confused for a second, before jumping out of the way as Robin redirected his attacks at him.
"What the hell?!" yell Harry as he dodged Robin's flinging fists.
"Just hit him with some spells!" yelled Severus as he had his wand out shooting Batman with some stunning spells. Batman dodged them with as much skill as the other vigilante. Batman looked over at his friend Robin who had more difficulty with dodging the spells. Batman pulled Robin towards him and then wrapped the cloak around Robin so he was covered. Harry's jaw dropped as he saw that Robin was now covered with his, his invisibility cloak!
"You prat, I'm going to kill you!" yelled Harry towards Robin. "You stole my cloak!" Harry then shot random stunners through the air as one was bound to hit Robin. Batman was busy dodging the spells from Snape, but now he had to worry about Harry's as well. Harry was exasperated, but he kept on fighting until he felt something pull him back. Robin had snuck up behind him and started to choke him.
"Stupefy." Harry uttered between breaths and it just passed Robin's left ear. The red beam of light instead had hit the stone wall. The chaotic fight had caused a riot of noise.
"What in Merlin's name is going on?!" shouted Minerva as she had come to the scene. She then had dodged a hex just in time as it flew past her head. Harry was surprised at how fast she moved. She whipped out her wand and in seconds they were all frozen in their place against their wills. She removed Robin from Harry even though she couldn't see him and disarmed both Harry and Snape before she tied them back-to-back with rope so they couldn't harm each other.
"What is the meaning of this?" she asked, but then an explosion of answers came hurling at her.
"The bastard stole my fucking cloak!"
"He attacked me!"
"He's a Death Eater!"
"I was dragged into this!"
"Silence," Minerva yelled as she couldn't separate all of the responses, "We shall discuss this further in my office." She then gave them the famous McGonagall death glare which made both Harry and Robin cringe in their place. Snape just had a sneer plastered on his face while Batman just tried to glare at Snape. Minerva then levitated them to her office.
With her hands on her hips and lips pursed she scowled at them as she asked, "Can I let go of you four with you trying attacking each other?" They nodded simultaneously. With a wave of her hand the rope that bond them together fell and they were free. Batman and Robin quickly got up to get away from Snape and Harry. Both parties loathed the other.
"So who would like to go first?" she asked them.
"He attacked me!" yelled Snape first.
"He's a Death Eater Minerva, a Death Eater!" Batman yelled in defense.
"He's a former Death Eater. He has switched sides, and is now a spy. It would be wise of you to confront me before you take action Batman." She reprimanded him. Batman thought about it, and then realized that he probably should have confronted her first but he would never admit that to her.
"And I am ashamed of you Severus. You're a professor and should know better than to fight. Also Potter and Robin, why were you two fighting?"
"I was helping my friend." confessed Robin.
"And I was merely just dragged in by Snape, I mean Professor Snape." Harry answered.
Minerva cut Harry off before he could say anything else. "Severus, how could you drag a student into a fight?"
"I needed help and he was convenient at the time. I couldn't take both of these fools on by myself!" Severus tried to explain, but Minerva wouldn't listen.
"That is no excuse for dragging a student into a fight!" Minerva scolded, then turned to glare at Harry, "And you! Why did you continue to fight?"
"That git stole my invisibility cloak!" exclaimed Harry as he glared at Robin.
"I did not!" Robin tried to defend himself.
"Then why were you using it? Oh yeah, I know, it's cause you stole it!" yelled Harry as he turned and tackled the boy wonder. They rolled around on the ground for a second before Harry managed to grab his cloak. The-boy-who-lived then covered his body in it and disappeared from sight.
"Where'd he go?" asked Robin looking around.
"Potter!" yelled Minerva knowing he was still in the room, "Know that you have detention with me later."
"He probably left, not wanting to deal with you crazy people anymore." muttered Snape, but Batman still heard it.
"You're the one who dragged the kid into it!" defended Batman.
"You're the one who attacked me!" the two men continued to bicker until Minerva interrupted.
"You two are acting like children! Shut your trap and act like the men you are!" Minerva's strict tone made both of them stop, "now, Severus, go teach your class, and Robin, you're free to go, but Batman, I want to have a word with you though before you all go, detention with me later today."
"What?" they all simultaneously yelled.
"But I'm a professor, you can't give me detention." Severus argued.
"I'm a grown man, I shouldn't have to do detention." Batman added.
"I don't even go here!" Robin said in his defense.
"You are all in detention and that's final. Now you're dismissed except you Batman." Minerva raised her voice before she could hear any more excuses.
Always having to have the last word Snape turned to Minerva and yelled, "I'm not a child Minerva, so stop treating me like one." He then slammed her door before she could give him a witty retort. The Potion professor and boy wonder both left, leaving Minerva and Batman alone in the office. Batman sat there wondering why she wanted to speak to him alone.
"We didn't finish our discussion last night. Why were you in Hogsmeade and this time please give me the truth?" she asked straight out.
"I have never been dishonest to you yet. I followed someone to Hogsmeade that I thought was you."
"And why were you following this person that you thought was me?"
"I was following the vigilante and I know it was her because it wasn't the first time I saw her."
Minerva inhaled deeply as Batman studied her facial expression. He normally could read people well, but she was difficult. She was a challenge. She stood in front of him with her hands folded behind her and her back ram rod straight. Her green eyes never left Batman's eyes which Batman didn't know whether to take it as a sign of respect or as a threat.
"I shall say this to you once and only once so listen closely since I do not like to repeat myself. I understand that you are skilled in many areas, but self-defense against magic is not one of them. Do not go looking for trouble or you will find it. The suit you have on may be bullet proof but it is not spell proof. It would behoove you to remember that."
"In no means of disrespect," Batman cut her off, "I will remember your words, but I cannot promise that I will be able to follow them. I know I may not be as useful into helping you stop death eaters, but I cannot do nothing while injustice is occurring."
"You are not useless, Batman," Minerva assured as her tone had softened from before, "you are brave and strong I can tell, but the wizarding world is in my jurisdiction. If anything happens to it, it will fall on me not you. You are here to protect and watch over the Gotham people. You can help me by doing your job, are we at an understanding?"
"You cannot do this alone. Whether you like it or not, you need my help. I will try to stay out of your way, but I'm not going to stop fighting until justice has been brought upon those who need it."
Minerva was taken back but she recovered well and straightened herself as she walked to the door to indicate for him to leave. "I'm sorry but I have papers to grade, and I'd appreciate it if you'd leave. Don't forget about detention later."
Batman didn't know if she was still mad at him, or she had finally calmed down. He nodded respectfully and then left her presence gratefully. She closed the door and leaned against it. He would not back down and she knew that. She exhaled as she knew this year would not be easy.
Harry walked down the halls towards his common room after sneaking away from the fight. He pulled the cloak off then felt an arm wrap around his shoulders.
"Soooo…have you thought about my offer? "asked a familiar voice. Harry looked at the clown who had his arm wrapped around his shoulders.
"Is Batman and Robin going to be some of our targets?" asked Harry with a crazed glint in his eyes.
"Who, Batsy and Bird brain? Why of course they are!" The Joker said with a smile.
"I'm in."
"So what did they do that would make you want to get some revenge?" asked the clown.
"Besides being dragged into a fight with them, Robin stole my invisibility cloak!" explained Harry.
"Invisibility cloak? Where did you get one of those?" questioned the madman with a smile on his face.
"It was my father's, it was left to me in his will." explained the green eyed boy.
"Who killed him?" probed The Joker.
"The madman who gave me my scar, Lord Voldemort." said Harry as he glared at the wall.
"Really? Well isn't that a coincidence! The crazy that killed my parents also gave me my scars!" the Joker smiled and tightened his grip on Harry as he led the boy off to find the twins, "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship!"
At lunch the quartet sat together as they talked about the things they could do. Harry found the conversation exciting.
"So Boys, I think before we start any major chaos, we need a base of operations." whispered the Joker to the three Gryffindor's that surrounded him.
"Base of operations?" asked one of the twins.
"Yeah, you know, a place where we can store things and regroup or hide before and after causing chaos." explained the Joker. The four sat in thought for a few minutes before Harry's eyes lit up.
"I know just the place…"
He normally tried to stay away from trouble, especially with Sirius Black on the loose who was supposedly after him, but this just seemed too good to pass up. Minerva sat by Dumbledore's side as she didn't look pleased with him at all.
"Justin Gladache is in the hospital as he only mumbles about snakes everywhere, and he won't stop trembling. How could you let Scarecrow slid like that?"
"Oh Minerva, he's fine, and he will be fine. He's only imagining the snakes." Dumbledore assured her with the blue twinkles in his eyes.
"He's fine, he's fine? He's not fine Albus, he's far from fine!"
"Shh, don't raise your voice so loud Min, you don't want to sound like a Banshee." he joked, but she didn't find it funny at all.
"You know that's not funny." she chastised, but he just chuckled. He then lightly patted her hand playfully but she immediately pulled it away and looked at him venomously only for him to laugh harder.
"I'm glad I could entertain you this much." she said sarcastically.
"Yes you always do Min." as he said this Minerva rolled her eyes only to find another set of eyes on her. It was Batman. He was sitting at her house table as he was intently looking at her. Why was he staring at her for? He couldn't possibly be angry at her still, but his eyes didn't register loathing. She started to become self-conscious about herself, but she couldn't tear her green eyes from his dark mysterious ones. There was history in them. Pain and desire was what she could read in them, though Batman couldn't read her eyes. He could only see her anxiety. She subconsciously brushed away a lose strand from her face and tucked it behind the ear to give her an excuse to break the intense eye contact.
"Hello there, what's so interesting?" purred Cat Woman as she slipped silently next to Batman. "Who could you possibly find more amusing to look at than me?"
"Many people." Retorted Batman as he averted his eyes to his empty plate since Cat Woman had obstructed his view of Minerva.
"Oh is that so?" she questioned him as she pressed herself upon Batman's arm. Batman had quickly removed her close attachment from him. He didn't like her by him anymore.
"Oh you like to play hard to get do you?" she purred once again. Batman moved away from her and stood from his seat. Cat Woman crossed her long legs covered in slashed black leather in a seductive pose, but he wouldn't look at her. Instead he looked at Minerva to see if she was looking at him or looking at the position he's in. Minerva was looking, but now quickly looked away. Why did Cat Woman have to be so provocative in the way she approached Batman, or better yet, how did Batman fall in love with her enough to marry her? Many questions went through Minerva's head, but she wouldn't dare say them. Batman looked up at Minerva and saw her discomfort from Cat Woman. He felt ashamed that he was ever affiliated with the purring woman before him. Cat Woman flicked her hair off her shoulder as she turned in the direction in which Batman was looking at and saw Minerva talking to Dumbledore at that point.
"Has someone captured my Batman's heart from me?" asked Cat Woman less seductively but instead was more a hiss.
"I have taken my heart from you a long time ago." Batman said coolly.
She stood abruptly and pulled him towards her where she hissed in his ear, "I'll always have your heart Batman, and you know it. If anyone else takes a piece of your heart, mark my words, I shall pry it away from their dead cold fingers." Then she let go of him and walked away.
After lunch, Pomona Sprout walked into her greenhouse planning on getting prepared for her next class, but was surprised to find her normally orderly greenhouse, completely over grown with fatal looking plant. They looked exotic as they were plastered in bright pink and oranges. Her plants were no longer there. Her Devil's Snare was being devoured by some flower that she didn't recognize. Some had sharp fangs or a full set of pointed teeth. The green house was also more humid than it usual was making it hard to breath.
"What is the meaning of this!" she exclaimed.
"My babies needed to grow." she heard a voice call from the mini jungle.
"Your 'babies'? I demand you remove these…these weeds at once! I have a class to teach!" shouted the angry teacher.
"They are not weeds! I will not remove them, they need to grow! In fact it's almost time for feeding…perhaps you would like to help?" asked Ivy as she was set down by a plant in front of Professor Sprout, "They just love a large first meal…"
"You're crazy!" screamed the scared professor as the plant women moved towards her. The teacher screamed and fled from the greenhouse, fully planning on in forming Dumbledore that one of his 'guests' had just tried to feed her to a plant.
While Ivy was attempting to feed her plants, another villain was continuing his goal of corrupting his chosen students.
"Why are we going into the girl's bathroom?" asked Fred as Harry led them into the haunted bathroom.
"You'll see…" said Harry as he walked over to the sink. He walked around it until he came to one with a small snake pattern on it.
"Open" he hissed. The others looked surprised for a second before the sink sank down and left a large hole.
"Uh…what is that?" asked George.
"A hole" said the Joker simply.
"It's the main entrance to the chamber of secrets." said Harry with a smile.
"Slytherin built the main entrance to the infamous chamber of secrets, in a girl's bathroom? How gay is that?" asked Fred.
"Well I've heard a rumor that the real reason he left was because he got rejected by Gryffindor and that's why the Slytherins hate us so much." said George. They all laughed.
"Soooo…uh…how do we get down?" questioned The Joker. The only response was Harry jumping into the hole. Harry laughed as he slid down, finding the trip much more fun when he wasn't worried about red-headed bitches that were stupid enough to write in possessed journals. The others stared at the hole for a second before shrugging and following the green-eyed child's example and jumping down the hole. When they landed Harry turned his head up towards the tunnel they just slide down and hissed close.
"That was surprisingly…"
"Awesome." George finished Fred's sentence. The Joker was laughing as he looked up the big pipe they had just come down from. They must have just fallen five stories and yet the landing was soft and spongy. The Joker was confused as he saw they were standing on rocks, but decided not to question it.
"So is this the chamber?" asked the Joker.
"No we have a little walk before we get there." Harry said as he started to walk and the rest followed. Eventually they reached a large chamber with a statue of Salazar Slytherin. Pond-like puddles littered the stone floor and high pillars held the ceiling up.
"…wow"
"Our little sister"
"Was down here?"
"And didn't tell us about it?"
"That bitch!" Both twins said the last part of their combined sentence. The Joker and Harry both started laughing and the twin quickly joined in. Harry looked around and noticed something.
"What the hell happened to the Basilisk?" asked Harry looking around trying to find the dead monster.
"What's a Basilisk?" asked the Joker thoroughly amused.
Harry sighed as he remembered his near death experience, "A Basilisk is a large effing snake that can kill people just by looking at them."
"Wow he has looks to kill." cackled the Joker had his insane smiled on as he laughed, "Sweet, so is this snake still alive?"
"Nope, I killed it." Harry answered.
"Why'd you do that?" questioned the Joker with a disappointed pout.
"Oh, a memory of Voldie that was locked in a diary had ordered it to kill me." explained Harry as he walked farther into the chamber.
"Voldie had a diary?" laughed the amused clown. The others soon joined in after they realized just how ridiculous that sounded.
"Now that I think about it, I bet Voldie is gay. I mean he has been chasing Harry since he was one!" laughed Fred with a smile. They all spread out to scope out their new hideout. Suddenly the Joker called out to the others.
"I found a door!" The other three boys quickly make their way over to the madman. He grasps the handle and pushes, but it doesn't budge.
"It didn't open." said the Joker with a frown.
"Hold on, let me try something…open" Harry hissed at the door. It glowed for a second, before it swung open. The group stepped in a let out a quick yelp before they started laughing.
"Is that who I think it is?" asked Fred.
"If you think its Salazar Slytherin, then yeah." stated George.
"Who is this Slytherin guy?" asked the Joker as he walked over to the corpse dressed in black silk robes with green lining and sliver clasps in the shape of intertwining snakes.
"He is one of the founders of the school. He's the one who built the chamber and put the snake in there. It was also said that he left the school, but obviously he didn't." said Harry as he examined the room. It was fairly large and had multiply book cases. Slytherin's corpse was sitting in a large green chair that was facing the fire place. A desk made of dark mahogany sat in the corner and he slowly made his was over to it. On it was an old letter that was sealed with a snake in the S form as it was the sign of Salazar Slytherin. He picked it up and broke the seal.
"What cha got there?" asked the Joker as he turned his head up to look at the boy by the desk. Fred and George also looked up at Harry.
"It's a letter. I think Slytherin wrote It." explained Harry.
"Oh! Read it out loud!" exclaimed Fred as he moved to sit near Harry.
"Hehe…It's story time!" laughed The Joker as he too made his way over to where Harry was and took a seat next to Fred and George took a seat on his other side. Harry then began to read.
To whoever finds this room,
My time here on earth is coming to a close and the person who is able to gain access to this room is one who is a direct descendant of mine. I leave everything I own to you. Our world is corrupt in my time, and is destined to only be worst in yours so I leave you with these parting words, give them hell.
The four sat in silence for a moment before one of them spoke up.
"Well, this makes thing a whole lot more…interesting." stated The Joker.
"Wait if you're the direct descendant of him and Voldie isn't, does that mean that Voldie is a bastard child?" Fred's question was directed to Harry. Fred's statement sent a round of laughter to echo around the chamber.
"I'm not his descendant though." Harry stated still giggling.
"Then how'd you get in this room?" asked The Joker.
"Not the slightest idea, eh…I'll go with it, like you said it will certainly make it a whole lot more interesting." said Harry amused.
"Now that we know this is defiantly going to be our base, we should probably get back before anyone notices our absences." said The Joker.
"How do we get out?" asked Fred looking at Harry.
"Last time I had Professor Dumbledore's Phoenix, Fawkes, fly us out, but since he's not here…" Harry trailed off realizing their problem.
"Oh well, we will just look around until we find our way out, I mean Slytherin had to get out some way right?" said The Joker. The students nodded and wandered off to find an exit. They walked and found a little cave that led to stone stairs that moved like escaladers as soon as it sensed someone on them. The chamber of secrets has now been reopened once more for the Joker's use.
In Dumbledore's office there was a staff meeting. Pomona Sprout was yelling at the top of her lungs along with Severus Snape and Minerva McGonagall.
"She tried to feed me to her plants!"
"I got attacked twice in the halls!"
"Justin Gladache is still in the hospital wing, and Draco Malfoy is now there. Scarecrow did it, and you know it Albus!"
"I was attacked and now students will now know I'm a spy!"
"I was almost eatin!"
"Albus do something!"
"Minerva, Pomona, and Severus, please refrain from yelling at me. It is too early in the day, and I've already got a head ache." Dumbledore stated as he rested the side of his head in his hand.
"You have a head ache! Albus I don't care what you have, you have to do something about those Gotham people for Hogwarts' sake." Yelled Minerva as she was inches away from Albus and her green eyes were vexed. His blue eyes somehow still twinkled as they looked at her and he smiled. How dare he twinkle his eyes and smile at a time like this she thought.
"I for once, agree with Minerva. I was attacked twice sir, and have been discovered as a spy." Severus said now slamming his fist on Dumbledore's desk which caused the paranoid herbology professor to jump.
"My beautiful greenhouse was taken over by her plants that were going to feed on me!" she was now crying as the small Professor Flitwick tried to console her.
"Albus you have to send them back to where they came from. I know you think you are doing something for the greater good, but this isn't helping anyone. Pomona is scared to death, students are being affected by this fear poison thing, and Severus has been attacked twice."
"Exactly Minerva, all these things have been caused by the Gotham villains, but they can't help it. It is in their nature which is why I think it is our duty to change their ways." He said and then put his hand up to block Minerva's retort. "I am the Headmaster and my ruling is final. You are all excused." Minerva and Severus stood there ridged with anger as Pomona was still shaking with fear. Professor Flitwick was just befuddled by the headmaster's ruling. Minerva then turned to leave followed by the others when Dumbledore stopped them.
"Oh I fully expect to see you all in group therapy tomorrow, I believe it will be your turn to lie down on the couch Min." he said with a smile.
"I….I…oh you such an insufferable man!" she screamed and then stormed off as she could hear Dumbledore chuckling to himself.
The day had gone by and Minerva's predicaments were only getting worse. She sat at her desk marking papers when she heard her door open. It was about time she thought for her signed out detentions. She looked up from her markings to find Batman standing before her. She then checked the time to see he was right on schedule.
"I'm here to serve out my detention." Batman stayed calm and collective as he stood in front of her.
"Thank you for showing up, Batman, tonight all you have to do is answer my questions and then you are free to go."
"That's it?" asked Batman incredulously, "I thought you were going to have me write lines or rearrange something for you."
"No, we're just talking. Like you said, you are a grown man after all. Though if you want to write lines, I can arrange—"
"No, that's fine." Batman cut her off. Minerva smiled knowing he wouldn't want to write lines.
"Please take a seat and make yourself comfortable." Minerva indicated to the many desks in the room and Batman nodded respectively.
"I prefer standing if you don't mind."
"That's quite alright with me, so tell me what really happened to the Joker, Two-Face, and that woman who insists she's a cat?" asked Minerva. By her tone of voice when she described Cat Woman, he figured she wasn't very fond of the woman at all, but he couldn't blame her. Cat Woman was cunning and he thought selfish.
"If you must honestly know I did not kill and rape Two-Face's fiancé. It was true we were in love at one time in my life, but she left me. She said I had to give up being Batman, or she'd leave me, and she left. Then the Joker was the one who thought it would fun to put Two-Face and his fiancé in two separate ware houses filled with C-4 and oil tanks. I saved Two-Face, but the police couldn't reach Rachel in time. As for the Joker, he's been trying to cause chaos and amuse himself, while I try to stop him from killing people. Do I have to beat him up so the detonator is out of his hand, yes. Cat Woman is a long complicated story." he said but Minerva raised her eyebrow to indicate to elaborate; they had time.
He sighed as he continued on reluctantly. "We did date, but I didn't know she was Cat Woman as she didn't know who I was either. One day we confessed who we were, and we have worked with each other and fell in love. We got married only for her to break my heart. She didn't like being the good person anymore. She wanted to have fun again as a villain. She kidnapped our daughter and gave her away to another family. I never saw her again. I never forgave Selina for that, and she can't even tell me who the family is because she got her memory erased about her."
Minerva at first didn't know what to say but finally came out with what she deemed appropriate, "I'm sorry for your misfortunes, but thank you for telling me the truth. You are free to go if you please."
"What happened to the other's may I ask?"
"Well, Professor Snape is making me a head ache reliever potion, Potter is with Hagrid, and Robin is with Filch the care taker." Minerva replied crisply. Minerva then returned to her work thinking he was going to leave, but he didn't.
After a moment, Minerva stopped, "Is there something else you needed?"
"You believe me?" he asked her incredulously.
"Yes I do."
"Why?"
"Trust me when I say I have years of experience when it comes to sorting the lies from the truth." Batman waited for her to elaborate but she didn't. Instead she stood up from her desk looking like she was getting ready to leave. She neatly stacked up her papers and caped her bottled ink.
She did not wait for him to leave before she headed to the back of the class room where she pushed aside a long wall length tapestry which revealed a hidden door. She was about to slip through when he stopped her.
"Minerva?"
"Yes?"
"Would you have time to tell me more about this Dark Lord?" Minerva opened her mouth as she was about to refuse before he cut her off quickly, "Or I could always go find the answers by other means."
Her mouth shut, swallowing her words. After her silent inward battle had ceased, she finally agreed. "Come, we shall discuss it over a pot of tea."
Minerva invited him into her rooms. Again he was brought into the familiar sitting room with the beige loveseat and tartan blanket draped over the back. Minerva reached for her wand in her robes, quickly ignited the flames in the fireplace. She set down her papers on her desk before taking a seat in an arm chair by the fire. Batman sat nearby on the loveseat.
"Blinky," she called and a small house elf appeared from thin air. Batman slightly jumped though no one would have seen it unless they were truly looking for it.
"Yes mistress." The house elf bowed low to the ground so her petal pink ears kissed the floor.
"Could you bring us a pot of hot tea and a platter of ginger newts please?"
"Of course, Blinky bring mistress tea and biscuits right away."
"Thank you Blinky."
The elf left with a faint pop and returned in a minute with a full pot of tea and a platter of assorted biscuits. Minerva poured herself a cup while Batman declined. He watched her as she lightly blew the steaming liquid before taking a small sip. Once she was settled, she finally addressed him.
"What would you like to know?"
"How did this dark wizard rise to power?" Batman looked into her blazing green eyes. She didn't look pleased with the questioning, but she answered nonetheless.
"It was after World War Two when the dark lord before him had been defeated by the Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. He had started collecting follower long before that though I believe."
The next day Batman sat down in the Great Hall eating breakfast with everyone else, though he could not help but over hear the conversation that occurred beside him.
"Did you read the Dailey Prophet yet?"
"No, why?"
"It's her, the vigilante has struck again as she wrangled up two death eaters all bearing the mark."
"So what did the forces do with them?"
"They were forced to let them go even though everyone knows they are probably aiding Sirius Black in his mission to kill Potter."
Batman thought over their conversation. The vigilante had struck again and he was at the castle with Minerva at the time. It couldn't be her, but then who else could it be. Did she have a daughter or close relative that she kept hidden? He didn't know, but he was determined to get to the bottom of it.
The bell sounded and the children dispersed from the Great Hall leaving the staff, Gotham visitors, and the few children that were supposed to be there remained. Batman watched as Minerva walked in with her head held high to take her seat on the couch.
"Min, you're supposed to lie on it." Dumbledore instructed, and Minerva just glared at him.
"I will do no such thing Albus. I will do many things for you Albus, but this is not one of them."
Dumbledore cocked his head to the side as he looked at her sincerely. "Oh but it's to help you relax and wound down since you're already stressed out enough Min, I think this will help you immensely." She was about to say something when all of a sudden the Joker walked in.
"I'm sorry I'm late, but I decided to change, you see my other garments were starting to get dingy." he said with a malicious grin. All the Professor's eyes grew large as they recognized the robes from a famous Salazar Slytherin painting. They were of a dark ivy green velvet robes lined with silk the color of silver.
"Where did you get those?" Minerva was the one who finally had the guts to ask first.
"Found them in a chamber, like em?" he asked as he spun around to let the robes billow around him. "Quite drafty down there, but it will do."
"Nice I like em', now come sit." replied Scarecrow. The Joker went to take his seat and Minerva looked at Albus for him to say something, but Dumbledore just smiled admiring the Joker's robes.
"Yes they are very nice colors for you." Dumbledore commented and Minerva's jaw dropped. "It complements your hair, but anyway, Minerva you looked stressed. Lie down, you'll be surprised to how comfortable it is."
"I will not subject to this humiliation Albus. Scarecrow and all the other Gotham people didn't have to lie down, so why should I?" she questioned.
"I think you should lie down or at least let your hair down. Study says that if you pull your hair back too much, it can cause headaches."
"Ha ha very funny Albus, but I'm not doing any of them." Minerva said defiantly with her arms crossed.
"Eh, I tried. You know you used to always have your hair down."
"Yes but that was before the war, and why does it matter how my hair is?"
"Maybe because he wants to see how nice it is down." interjected Poison Ivy. Cat Woman gave her a death glare, and Ivy didn't get why, but she kept her mouth shut.
"Thank you Poison Ivy, but it's staying up Albus, and I'm not lying down."
"Fine then proceed with your story of whatever you want to say."
"I don't know what to say, if there is something that someone wants to know, I think they should just ask." Minerva stated and looked around the room. The Joker was the first to raise his hand.
"Yes Joker?" she asked.
"Do you want to know how I got these scars?" he asked smiling and pointing to them.
"No I'd rather not." She answered a bit coolly.
"When I was young, I hated picture day. Never used to smile when the photographer told me to. In all of my school pictures I was frowning, I just couldn't find a reason to smile. In fourth grade, my school got a new photographer. This new guy had the students come in individually; he said it was to make the kids less nervous. So anyway, when it was my turn I went in and sat down, my normal frown plastered on my face, and he told me to smile a big smile like the one he had glued to his face, just like the others, and just like the others, I kept my frown. Then this is where normally, the man would sigh, take my picture and call the next kid, but no. His fake smile dropped to a frown that matched mine. He got up and walked over to me. He asked me why I wasn't smiling. I told him there was nothing to smile about. He walked back to a bag and grabbed a razor rom his bag. I was scared stiff. He came back and grabbed my face, and put the blade in the corner of my mouth. He asked me why I frown, why so serious, when life is just a joke. He told me, that no one ever frowned in his photos, and if I wasn't going to put a smile on my face myself, then he would do it for me. Needless to say, I now always am smiling for pictures." The Joker answered and the staff showed less sympathy towards the Joker since he just changed his story.
"Interesting story, anyone else have any question for me, or shall we move on?" Minerva said sarcastically.
"What's your greatest fear?" asked Scarecrow. Minerva averted her eyes towards Scarecrow as she knew his reasons behind the question.
She thought before she answered his question, "I know my fears, but I'm afraid I do not know my greatest fear."
"The all mighty Minerva McGonagall fears things?" sniggered Snape in disbelief.
"Yes or where else would my Gryffindor bravery come from if I didn't fear anything?" she asked, and the Riddler thought it was a wise answer.
"Three lives have I. Gentle enough to soothe the skin, light enough to caress the sky, and hard enough to crack rocks. What am I?" he asked as and Minerva rolled her eyes.
"Of course you give me a riddle, hold one let me think." She said and he smiled thinking she would never get it but then she answered, "Water, it's water."
"Five hundred begins it, five hundred ends it, five in the middle is seen; First of all figures, the first of all letters, Take up their stations between. Join all together, and then you will bring, before you the name of an eminent king."
"Are we doing this all day?" she asked impatiently. The Riddler smiled and then she rolled her eyes and started to think.
"It's DAVID." answered Dumbledore. "You know like Roman numerals and all."
"Thank you Albus. Now anymore questions?"
"Yes I have one." purred Cat Woman. "Are you married?"
"No, I'm not, anyone else?"
"Then you're single, or are you seeing someone?" persisted Cat Woman.
Minerva pursed her lips and crossed her arms, "I don't see how that concerns you."
"I'm just wondering, you know, you said we could ask anything, like do you Like Batman?"
"Excuse me?" Minerva asked disbelievingly.
"You heard me correctly, or is your hearing starting to diminish with your age?" she asked, and Minerva flushed red with anger.
"My hearing is perfectly fine, and no I don't like him except in a professional way. It would be most inappropriate for me to have feelings for a man who's considerably younger than me." She answered and Cat Woman seemed like she was pleased with the answer.
"I would hope so." Cat Woman retorted.
"I think that's enough questioning, may I be excused Albus?" asked Minerva. Albus nodded and then asked if anyone wanted to hear from any other professor.
"I have a question. Has anyone that is non-magical every become Minister of Magic?" asked Harvey.
"No, no I don't think so, why do you ask?" answered Dumbledore.
"No reason, no reason at all…" Harvey trailed off thinking of his newest project.
"Okay then…well if there are no more questions, then you are all free to go." Dumbledore said with a smile and the rest of the people got up and left.
The Joker wandered the halls looking for his three little agents of chaos. He finally found them in their chamber, redressing Slytherin's corpse in dark red robes with golden lining and golden clasps.
"What cha doing?" He asked the trio.
"We're going to freak a few people out, piss a few people off." said Fred nonchalantly.
"Nice"
"Yup"
At dinner that night the first people to file in, screamed at the sight of the corpse dressed in Gryffindor colors seated at the Slytherin table. The teachers attempted to remove the body, but it still remained glued to its seat. The rest of the student body came in and quickly swarmed around the Slytherin table when they discovered the body sitting there. A few of the students dared to try and touch it, and were rewarded with a small, black snake sliding out of its skull and snapping at them. A few of those with weak stomachs quickly located the nearest place to go lose their lunch they had earlier or their dinner they just had.
"Who is that?"
"He's in Gryffindor colors! Those murderous bastards!" other whispers spread like wild fire though the crowd.
"Students, do not be alarmed, simply return to your house tables and continue on with your meal." shouted Dumbledore over the noise of the throng.
"But, sir, there is a dead guy at our table!" exclaimed one of the Slytherins who was thoroughly disgusted by the prospect of having to dine with a corpse.
"Unfortunately, the corpse cannot be removed until after dinner." Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eye. The Slytherins, though still upset at the eating situation, sat down and attempted to ignore their 'guest'.
"Albus, you cannot seriously be allowing the children to eat with a corpse!" exclaimed Minerva in a hushed but harsh tone.
"I have no choice, it cannot be removed at this moment." said Dumbledore.
"I demand there to be punishment for this!" said Snape looking furious and a bit homicidal, "This is a direct mockery of my house! I bet it was one of your 'guests', probably the Joker!"
"Now, now Severus, you know better than to go jumping to conclusions." chided Albus.
"No, I agree with him, Albus, this has gone far enough!" agreed Minerva; she reinforced her comment with a glare.
"Fine then, after dinner, we will call The Joker in to talk with about what you two think he has done."
"Fine, but he'd better not get off with just a smack to the wrist like Scarecrow did!" said Head of Gryffindor before she ignored the headmaster and went back to her dinner.
At the Gryffindor table, the three pranksters tried to muffle their laughter with their hands, but ended up letting a few stray giggles pass their lips. The Joker laughed while the twins and Harry seemed pleased with themselves. When dinner was over Dumbledore got up and called for the Joker.
"Joker please stay here. I would like a word with you." Dumbledore's voice boomed through the Great Hall and he then turned to his two most strict professors. "Severus you can stay, but Minerva you can go."
"What?" asked Minerva exasperated as Severus smirked.
"Minerva I dismissed you. You don't need to be here." Dumbledore assured her with one of his kindly twisted smiles that she hated.
"Why does Severus gets to stay? I'm your deputy, I should be here." she protested. Severus smiled even wider, but he had to wonder the same thing.
"Min, you wouldn't understand. Now please go before you make a big scene about it."
"Why wouldn't I understand Albus, the only other reason I can think is because you're sexually attracted to Severus." She pointed her finger at him, and Severus scoffed. Dumbledore flushed red of embarrassment, but then regained his composure.
"Minerva," he said and she just rolled her eyes.
"I know I'm leaving." she said reluctantly and headed out.
Dumbledore leaned towards Severus as he whispered, "I think she's caught on to us." Severus distorted his face as he looked over at Dumbledore in shock and tried to get away from him. Dumbledore laughed at his reaction and then turned his attention to the Joker.
"What did I miss?" asked the Joker amused to see Severus cringe away from Dumbledore.
"Nothing, nothing of the sort, now I wanted to talk to you about is what you did this evening." said Dumbledore.
"What I did this evening? What did I…Oh! You mean old snakes for brains coming to dine? Yeah, I had no part in it!" exclaimed The Joker with a devious smile.
"Oh you didn't, did you?" asked Dumbledore.
"Nope! Nothing at all!" bellowed the smiling mad man.
"Do you know who did it then?" probed Dumbledore hoping to find the person, or people, stupid enough to place a body decked out in Gryffindor colors at the Slytherin's table.
"Well of course I know who did it!" the Joker stated then smiled with pride and wiped a non-existent tear away, "and I'm so proud!" Dumbledore and Snape stared at the man who seemed to be having a moment.
"And can you tell us?" Snape growled out with a sneer.
"Yup, defiantly." As the Joker said this he nodded his head and clasped his hands behind his back before starting to sway from side to side. The two magical men stared expectantly for a few minutes.
"Well?" asked Snape impatiently.
"Well what?" The Clown shot back.
"Are you going to tell us?" The greasy git growled, starting to get annoyed with the crazy.
"I'm not so sure I should…" the Joker trailed off with a grin.
"If you don't tell us, we will assume it was done by you…" the unsaid threat was heard clearly by the Joker, but ignored.
"I swear I didn't do it! Though I did influence it."
"What exactly does that mean?" snarled Snape, who was quickly losing his temper.
"It means I have started to corrupt some of your students! Have fun finding out who they are!" They Joker then started giggling madly and skipped out of the room, leaving the two men dumfounded.
"Shit."
Batman waited till it was late at night before he headed to Minerva's chambers. He knocked on the painting and the man that was in the painting stirred in his sleep.
"Who…..who goes there?" it asked as it was groggy from tiredness. The man was an older man as his face was lined with what looked like smiling and laughing for all his life.
"Sorry to disturb you, but is Professor McGonagall inside?" asked Batman as he felt awkward talking to a painting.
"Why does that concern you boy?" questioned the painting a bit more protectively. The painting then open slightly ajar and there stood Minerva still in her teacher attire.
"Batman, what are you doing here?" she asked as she sounded fatigued herself.
"I would just like to ask you some things, if it's not too late." She only nodded and let him through. When she turned to face him she was yawning.
"Here, there's tea on the table," she said as a hot teapot filled with tea was conjured with a wave of her hand, "Excuse me for a moment, but I was in the middle of getting ready for bed." Batman nodded and she smiled affectionately and then walked into her bedroom and he then heard the faint click as the door closed behind her. He sat nervous in her sitting room as he waited for her, but just couldn't anymore. He never felt this way before as he abruptly got up from his seat and walked towards her door. She was sitting at a vanity brushing her long black locks. She saw him in the reflection of the mirror and spun around.
"I asked you to wait outside. This is highly inappropriate for you to be here."
"Did you really mean what you said today at the meeting?" he asked as he walked towards her. She got up from her vanity and looked at him disconcerted.
"What part of the meeting?" she asked even though she knew perfectly knew what part he meant.
"You know what part I'm talking about." She looked at him almost pleadingly to stop from getting any closer to her. He was now a foot away as he was too close for comfort for her, and she looked into his dark masked face. He looked beseechingly into her emerald eyes for her answer.
"You shouldn't be this close." She said weakly as she turned her head away, breaking the eye contact. He took off his mask and his black gloves and even his cloak as he stood before her unmasked and vulnerable. He took his hand to lightly grab a hold of her chin as he directed her to look at him.
"Tell me to leave and I will." He told her softly. She was speechless as she still wouldn't look at him. Her delay to answer was all he needed to know before he leaned towards her. She surprisingly didn't resist. His lips tenderly collided into her soft lips. He then felt her hands moved up his chest and slid up to clasp around his neck. He tangled his hand into her black silky raven locks as his other wrapped around her waist as he drew her closer to him. He could feel the soft white silk of her night dress between his fingers as her pressed his lips harder against hers to deepen the kiss and she pressed back equally. He broke for a second to breathe only to kiss her again. He moved both his arms around her waist to lift her higher to him and she smiled as she felt her feet leave the floor. He breathed her in greedily. He could smell the delightful scent of roses. He broke away to see her smiling young face.
"You've put me under your spell." He whispered to her.
She opened her emerald green eyes to look at him, "As you've put me under yours."
"So I take what you said back at the meeting untrue."
"Partially," she said as she pushed herself away from him. Batman gave her a quizzical look. "I am considerably older than you. I'm basically a seventy year old stuck in a late twenties person's body. It would be inappropriate for me to love you." She now turned her back away from him and he got closer to her as he held her close to him, but she still wouldn't face him.
"I don't care, it is too late. I have fallen for you, and nothing you could do or say can change my mind. I love you." he told her as he kissed her on the neck leaving a trail from her neck to her shoulder. He touched her soft ivory pale skin as he wanted to feel her touch since the first time he saw the mysterious masked woman.
"This isn't just about you, I mean we have duties. I belong here while you belong in Gotham. Once the villains go back whenever Dumbledore wants them to go back, then you will go back to protect your city. This cannot last, and therefor to save us from hearts break we shouldn't do this."
"Then you should've asked me to leave because now it's too late. All we can do is enjoy each other's company while we still can." He responded as he now nipped and sucked her skin on her neck. He could feel her tremor and melt under his touch as he now wrapped his arms tighter around her waist and her hand moved to cover his.
She turned her head to face his as she said softly, "Alright then." She then kissed him and he turned her around as he pressed her into him. Her body molded perfectly into his strong tall frame. He then tore from her lips as he now trailed soft kisses around her jaw line and now down her neck. She wouldn't let him stay the night, but they talked about how the relationship could work. When it was time to leave she led him to the door like always, but instead this time he kissed his love goodnight.
Meanwhile on the other side of the castle, The Riddler was amusing himself.
"I cannot be other than what I am, until the man who made me dies, power and glory will fall to me finally, only when he last closes his eyes. What is it?" asks the man.
"I don't….I don't know…"sobbed a fifth year Ravenclaw.
"But you were bragging about how smart you are earlier, weren't you?" asked the Riddler.
"I w-was, but….but…I don't know the answer…you're c-crazy!" screamed the now hysterical student.
"Such a shame! Oh well, I guess not every human is graced with even moderate intelligences." The Riddler then pointed the end of his cane at the boy's face a pushed a button. A small cloud of green gas was sprayed in his face. He immediately started to chough and fell to the floor, his veins faintly starting to bleed green. "Does anyone else want to take a guess?"
"It's a prince" said Luna as she walked in the room.
"Correct! See, at least one of you pests are actually smart enough to understand a simple riddle." exclaimed the Riddler to the ten students who had yet to be gassed.
"Luna? Oh dear god! Help us!" cried one of the students.
"What ever happened to Looney Lovegood?" she asked; her dreamy expression didn't even falter.
"What? C-come on! You k-know we were j-just joking, cause that's what friends do!" stuttered one of the captured students.
"I don't think you were…you never seemed to care before…" Luna trailed off with a smile and she turned to one of the students.
"Come on Luna! We care!" exclaimed one of the students desperately. The Riddler watched in interest at the little scene, curious to see what his new friend would do.
"I am here, I am there, I am burned into the mind of none, I walk on fire and live on ice, my words are meaningless for I talk not, I hate everyone yet fear no one, I have lived for centuries, Yet I have never existed, what am I?" Luna smiled at the confused faces of her class mates.
"W-what!?"One of them cried with tear in their eyes.
"Answer the riddle or not and end up like them." Luna gestured to the students on the floor, writhing in pain. The Riddler laughed and smiled, this was an interesting twist.
"Uh…Earth?" asked one of the students. Luna smile fell from her face.
"Is that your final answer?" she asked. The other Raven Claws flinched at her smile.
"Uh…yes?" replied a brown haired girl cautiously.
"Nothing" was all Luna said as she laughed a little and walked towards The Riddler.
"May I borrow you staff?" she asked and extended her hand.
"The more of it you have, the less of it you see." was the Riddler's response.
"Darkness, now may I borrow your staff?" She replied with a grin. The man smiled and handed it to her. Luna' grin grew larger as she slowly walked back over to her petrified classmates.
"You're not really going to poison us, are you?" asked one of them.
"What Button do I press?" asked Luna to The Riddler.
"The blue one." was his response. Luna pointed the head of the cane towards the group of students.
"You're crazy!" screamed one of them as the group huddled closer together.
"I know" with that she pressed the button and a cloud of gas shot out of the cane and into the faces of the startled, crying students. She laughed insanely at their reactions and The Riddler soon joined her too. The two walked off to meet up with the other crazies, both student and villain.
The next day the Riddler was called to Dumbledore's office.
"Edward, I have reason to believe that you had something to do with the poisonings that occurred yesterday." said Dumbledore looking the man in the eye.
"Question: why do you believe that?" asked Edward with a smirk.
"The children awoke they were muttering about not knowing the answer. When asked what the answer was for, they said the riddles."
"Answer: yes, I did poison them! But they aren't even smart enough to answer even the simplest of my riddles! They are not even worth the oxygen they waste. Unlike Luna, she's defiantly worth keeping. Smart girl she is, almost like a little sister she is!" exclaimed The Riddler with a caring older-sibling type look in his eye.
"You have taken an interest in young Luna Lovegood? Do you know of any of your other companions taking an interest in the students?" asked Dumbledore, looking more interested now.
"Well of course I have an interest in her! She is the smartest student here! And I don't really know about the others…Oh! The Joker I think has taken to the red-headed twins and the boy with green eyes and scar in Gryffindor." said Edward.
"What do you see her as, a daughter, a sister, a lover…"Dumbledore trailed off, his mind not yet realizing the other half of what the Riddler said.
"I am not a pedophile! I see her as a younger sister! I'm not Batman!" exclaimed Edward, who was extremely offended at what the old man was trying to imply.
"Why do you think Bat man is a Pedophile?" the older man asked.
"Well, he does always have his two little 'side-kicks' trailing after him. It's not that hard for even those with the lowest I.Q. to figure it out." explained The Riddler slowly as if he was talking to a young child.
"True…But that is beside the point! You are not allowed to poison students!" exclaimed the Headmaster, who fully intended to give out the right punishment
"So as long as I don't poison the students, I won't get punished?" the madman smiled at Dumbledore's nod of affirmation.
"Alright I, Edward Nygma, promise to not poison any of the students who attend this school for the duration of my stay." the honesty in his statement made the old headmaster's hard eyes softened.
"Alright, just as long as you don't do it again, you're free to go." said Dumbledore with a sigh. The Riddler grinned and walked out of the office, fully planning on telling the other's his conversation with Dumbles. As he watched the crazy genius leave, his mind finally brought what the younger man had said earlier to light.
"Did he say that The Joker has taken interest in the Weasley twins and Harry?"
When The Riddler walked back into the dorms him and his fellow Gotham dwellers shared he saw The Quartet of Chaos sitting in the corner, planning something. His grin didn't falter.
"What's got you so happy?" asked Fred looking up from the papers that were spread on the table in front of him.
"Just had a talk with Dumbles," Harry interrupted the man, giggling at the name. The Riddler ignored him, familiar with the don't-ask-unless-vital-to-survival rule that all residents in Gotham had come to know by heart'" He told me I couldn't poison any of the students."
"Why are you happy about that?" asked The Joker confused, "Poisoning students are fun!"
"True, but he said I wouldn't get punished as long as I didn't poison any of the students, he didn't say anything else. I also slipped in that Batman is probably molesting his little sidekicks." The Riddler's grin almost split his face in two. The four other people broke out laughing at his predicament.
"That will be fun to play off of." said Harry with a grin.
"Do tell what you're thinking of!" exclaimed The Joker.
"We could easily complain to the headmaster that Batsy has been a little too touchy with a student or is alone with his little charity projects far too much to be healthy." explained Harry with a smirk. The four started laughing and The Riddler slowly walked away from the laughing four, slightly freaked out by them.
Later that day, Dumbledore called Harry, Fred, George, and Luna to his office.
"Do any of you know why I called you here?" he asked in a grandfatherly tone.
"Cause you were so proud of our gift to the Slytherins that you've decided to send us on an all expense free trip to Jamaica!?' questioned Fred with a grin.
"If it was that then why would Luna be here?" asked George to his twin.
"Cause she's awesome?" replied Harry.
"Thank you Harry Potter." said Luna with a smile.
"Um…no…that is not why I called you up here today." Dumbledore said slightly disturbed by their little conversation, "You are here because of you becoming friends with our guests. They seem to be having an effect on your personalities."
"Are you sure you're not sending us to Jamaica? Cause there is this one type of plant that I heard Ivy talking about that can literally turn a person inside out when injected into the blood stream…"Harry trailed off with a crazed grin.
"No, you are not leaving Hogwarts, but I do have a few questions that I wish to ask each of you." Replied Dumbledore as he looked at his now crazy students.
"Ask away Dumbles!" exclaimed George, and Dumbledore frown at the use of the nick name the criminals had given him.
"Alright then, First question: What is your idea of a good time?" questioned Dumbledore.
"I love making people laugh!" declared Fred with a grin.
"I think making people smile is better." said George with a grin.
"I'm in love with doing both!" exclaimed Harry and the three burst out laughing, obviously seeing a joke that Dumbledore did not understand for even Luna let out a few giggles.
"What happens when you throw a purple rock in a yellow stream?" asked Luna looking expectantly at the men.
"Luna, I'm the one who is asking the questions here!" said Dumbledore slightly irritated.
"It makes a splash!" exclaimed Harry with a giggle. Luna smile and nodded her head. The Headmaster just sighed.
"Next question: Have any of you had the sudden desire to…kill?" asked Dumbledore hoping they would say no.
"All the time!" exclaimed the twins together.
"I find it funny the ways my mind can come up with to kill people. I have a very active imagination." Harry didn't stop grinning at all while he was talking
"Would I be called crazy if I said yes?" asked Luna with a dreamy grin. Dumbledore looked freaked out.
"Okay…Final question: Have you ever killed anyone?" he asked praying to Merlin that their answer would be no.
"My fellow Ravenclaws didn't die from the poison did they?" asked Luna with a crazed glint in her eye.
"You cannot prove anything!" exclaimed Gorge.
"Well…at least not anymore that is…"Fred trailed off sharing a look with his fellow agents of chaos. Dumbledore looked desperately at Harry begging to every god he could think off for Harry to not have blood on his hands.
"I'm offended you would think I would kill!" Dumbledore sighed in relief when he heard this," It's not killing! It's art!" At Harry's explanation Dumbledore's last ray of hope darkened.
"But, Harry! What about the war with Voldemort?" asked the old man frantically trying to save the wizarding world's greatest hope.
"Eh…the Voldie can go fuck himself for all I care. To hell with the wizarding world! Sides can't we all just get along? Seriously, why so serious?" Harry quoted his friend. The twins laughed hysterically at his words and Luna giggled along with them having heard the Joker using the quote before. Dumbledore covered his face with his hand and sighed, he could feel a head ache coming on.
"I think it would be for the best if you four join in the group therapy for now on." Dumbledore said.
"Whatever you say Dumbles! Soooo…are we free to go?" asked Harry still letting out a giggle every few seconds.
"Yes you are free to go. The next therapy session is tomorrow." Dumbledore watched them leave and got up too. Maybe Snape had a potion for headaches… Dumbledore then looked at his Phoenix, Fawkes.
"When should I tell Min she was right?" exclaimed Dumbledore as Fawkes just gave a smiling glint in his eyes.
The next group therapy session came and Dumbledore was distraught and concerned for his students. Harry and the red-headed twins sat smiling chaotically next to the Joker as Luna sat with a dreamy look upon her face by the Riddler.
Scarecrow looked at the Joker as he sniggered, "Didn't know you were running a daycare service."
"Yes, I teach them how to kill!" the Joker exclaimed. "You should get some followers of your own." Scarecrow smirked as he thought about the idea. Nah, it wouldn't work he thought. He'd kill them by with their fears before he could try to influence them. Minerva walked in as she was shocked to see three of her Gryffindor cubs at the group therapy meeting.
"Albus, what are they doing here?" she asked in a sinister tone.
"Is it too late for me to say that you were right, and I was…..was less right?" he replied with a smile on his face, but Minerva's tone didn't falter under Dumbledore's twinkling eyes.
"I warned you about this Albus and-"
"I know, I wasn't listening to you." interjected Albus as he looked at Minerva. Minerva rolled her eyes.
"You were probably too busy looking at Severus then listening to me." Minerva jeered and Albus just continued to smile at Minerva as he was glad to hear her humor with him.
"You know it." He replied and she rolled her eyes. Severus walked in and then saw Dumbledore look at him with twinkling blue eyes with a suggestive raised eyebrow at his direction.
"Severus, good for you to make it!" he boomed and Minerva burst out laughing. Severus rolled his eyes as he thought it was just another sick joke.
"Alright let's get this meeting started shall we? But before we begin what I have planned for today, I would like to make an announcement." stated Dumbledore as he took out a roll of parchment. He then opened it to reveal a raging picture of the convict, Sirius Black. "This man is the infamous criminal, Sirius Black. He killed thirteen muggles and his best friend with one curse, along with betraying Harry's parents to the dark lord. He is extremely dangerous and has been spotted near the school, so if you see him, warn a teacher for you are no match for him." Dumbledore held the picture above his head in full view. The professors, having known about Black, paid to attention, but the crazy students and Gotham residents were interested.
"I think he looks is crazier than you Joker" Stated Batman sending a look at the clown.
"If he shaved then I think he would look like a normal colored Joker" pointed Ivy. The Joker stood and walked over to grab the picture from Dumbledore. He then retreated back to his seat and sat in though staring intensely at the man in the photo.
"He's hot" Joker declared with a grin. The others laughed not taking him seriously. The Joker's grin fell for a second.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked.
"You're not serious are you?" asked Jonathan.
"Well no, I'm The Joker" said the clown pointing to himself, then he pointed to the image, "HE is Sirius." the others just stared while the Joker and his followers laughed.
"…Moving on…for this session we shall be playing the question game, which do not include riddles." Dumbledore said directed to the Riddler and Luna who were now pouting.
"But riddles are fun." exclaimed Luna.
"Yes, well I want the questions to focus more on the individual people instead of their knowledge." He said smiling at them, but their expressions didn't change.
"Alright then, we shall all ask a question where everyone has to answer them. Who would like to go first?" asked Dumbledore as he looked around the room.
"I'll go, who here are virgins?" asked Cat Woman. Luckily all the children had raised their hands, and even the side kicks.
"Put your hands down batgirl and bird brains, I know you two did each other with Batman squished in between." commanded the Joker at the sidekicks.
"We are virgins!" cried Robin, but the other villains just shook their heads. Minerva looked at Snape and then raised an eyebrow in a questioning way.
"I thought you were one Severus." She called him out as Snape now tried to sit taller in his seat.
"I am not." he denied.
"Really then? Who were you with?" She asked.
"I bet it was Voldie!" exclaimed Harry.
"Or Dumbles." added Fred.
"Probably both…" started George, "at the same time." concluded Fred right after his twin.
"That is inappropriate." interjected Dumbledore.
"He wished." sniggered Minerva as her Gryffindors looked at her surprised that she would join in.
"You're so funny, Minerva." said Snape dripping with sarcasm.
"I bet Cat Woman would be happy to change that for you though." Minerva replied, and then Cat Woman and Snape gave her dirty looks as Minerva only smiled.
"Alright then…on to the next question!" said Dumbledore.
"Okay what's everyone's greatest fear?" asked Scarecrow to everyone. Every one groaned upon hearing his question. They should have seen that coming…
"People." Harry's answer was the first one heard. Every one turned to look at Harry.
"Why?" asked Robin.
"None of your business you nosey bastard!" exclaimed Harry. Robin looked as if he was going to reply, but then changed his mind.
"Bats," admitted Batman as he got a lot of scoffs.
"Batsy, afraid of bats?" teased the Joker.
"What about you Joker?" asked Batman.
"Jell-O, hairbands, and trash bags." replied the Joker laughing. No one took him seriously.
"I'm afraid of heights." piped up Batgirl and the villains laughed.
"Well I'm afraid of robins, and crows." admitted Robin.
"I know what you mean bird brain, crows are just freaky as fuck." said Scarecrow.
"Language," warned Minerva as she glared at them.
"We're speaking English, so I don't see what you're complaining about." replied Ivy as she flipped her red hair from her shoulder.
"What are you so afraid of?" asked Scarecrow to Poison Ivy.
"Male scientists, you see I was killed by one." she explained as Scarecrow gave her an amused look.
"Then how are you still alive?" asked Madame Pomfrey.
"Well let's just say I'm not exactly human now am I? Mother Nature took a liking to me, some more than others." she said now looking at Pomona causing shivers down her back. "What are you afraid of?"
"Needles," she replied with a shaking tone, "I don't like the thought of them going into the body."
"Oh I thought it was being devoured by plants." said Poison Ivy a bit disappointed.
"I'm not afraid of plants, just yours." she confessed and Poison Ivy looked more content with herself.
"I'm afraid of fire." said Two-Face as he turned his face away to hide his damaged side.
"Yeah, mine is brain damage." confessed the Riddler.
Then Fred looked at him incredulously as he said, "I thought you were already brain damaged." His other twin laughed along with Harry.
"I think I would fear being normal." answered Luna after she put a lot of thought into it. The others nodded.
"Oh, I thought you were going to say Nargles." said Harry.
"Nah, they only cause confusion, blurry vision, headaches, and sudden mood changes." Luna replied as she was an expert in these so called Nargles that no one could see.
"Batman," said George as he looked down.
"Why do you fear Batsy?" asked Fred as he looked at his twin.
"He…he…I don't want to talk about it." George stuttered.
"Oh here we go again." said Severus as he rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair.
Fred patted George's back as he tried to console him. "Please tell me what happened."
"He…he…touched me." admitted George and Batman didn't even make an effort to listen.
"Who haven't you touched Batman?" sneered Snape.
"I didn't touch you that's for sure. You're still a virgin." retorted Batman.
"You touched my brother?" yelled Fred at Batman as Batman braced himself for the new accusations. "You lied to me! You said that you only loved me, you promised me we'd be together, and I thought we had something! What is it? Am I not attractive enough for you? Am I not tall enough?" questioned Fred, but Batman didn't say anything.
"You said you loved me, and now you just sit there saying nothing?" Fred then started to sob with his brother. "You heartless bastard!" they yelled in unison at Batman. All the other villains nodded their head sympathetically.
Harry sat with his arms crossed as he glared at Batman. "Wow, you made my two best friends cry, way to go asshole."
"Harry, please no cursing." Dumbledore had finally stepped in.
"Stop trying to act like you're my father or somehow can relate to me, because you're not! The closest father figure I have is the Joker!" Harry spat at Dumbledore who looked shocked. The Joker looked pleased as he put his hand on his heart.
"I'm truly touched Harry, you are the son I never had. Hey your parents are deceased right?"
"Yes why?" asked Harry.
"Then maybe I can adopt you, and you could live with me in Gotham City. Oh you'll love America, land of the free, and everlasting place of chaos." The Joker said as he grabbed Harry by the shoulder as he tried to explain how Gotham was to Harry. With each passing second Harry's smile broadened as Dumbledore didn't like the idea at all.
"Yes I would love that." said Harry. "I hate where I live right now. They make me live under the stairs in the broom closet." he confided to the Joker as he looked sad as he explained.
"That's horrible, I could kill them if you want." offered the Joker, but his offer was drowned out by the screaming of the irate green eyed witch who was yelling at Dumbledore.
"I told you that we shouldn't have left him to those muggles, but you wouldn't listen to me of course. You never do, instead your too busy day dreaming about Severus in your bed!" she yelled at Dumbledore and everyone muffled their laughter. Snape on the other hand tried to sink in his seat as he wished he could appriate at the spot.
"Min please, do you have to yell at me about this now?" he asked her as he cringed away from her. "I'm just going to end the meeting now since the questioning game didn't work out as planned so…"
"Oh you're not getting out of this that easily." she said threateningly.
"Well see you at the Halloween masquerade ball tonight." He said as he went to leave, but she grasped his robes quickly and she pulled him back down.
"Masquerade ball tonight?" she repeated in disbelief.
"Yes it's tonight at seven, which I think would give you enough time cool your temper." He said smiling, and then quickly pulled away from her hold and ran away. They were all surprised at how fast he ran for a person of his age. He left Minerva fuming as the rest of the group started to talk about the upcoming event
"Oh this will be fun, what are you guys going as?" asked Harry as he looked around.
"I think it would be fun it we…." The Joker looked around to see if anyone was listening in. "Boys I have a plan, let's discuss this in our headquarters, shall we?" The trio nodded in approval. Poison Ivy was talking to Two-Face and Cat Woman.
"Who am I supposed to dress up as?" asked Two-Face.
"Oh I got it." said Cat Woman as she looked at Two-Face. "You would be a half moon."
"Seriously?"
"No, I got it, you could be that guy from Phantom of the Opera." suggested Poison Ivy looking content with her answer. Batman saw Minerva storm out of the room as he went after her. He caught up of her in the halls.
"Hey Minerva," he called after her, but she didn't slow down. He quickened his pace until it matched hers.
"So you're going to the masquerade right?" he asked her.
"Yes, I'm Deputy Headmistress; it would be expected of me to attend." She replied like it was the worst thing in the world.
"Then will you go with me, as my date?" asked Batman. Minerva stopped to look at him and then shook her head before she continued to move on.
"No, it's not a good idea; I mean I can't be with you in public."
"But it's a masquerade, no one will know, and I won't wear my bat suit." he protested, and she still looked unconvinced.
"I don't know, maybe." She said as she thought about it. She then reached her office and walked in.
"I mean, you'll be masked, I'll be masked, and out of this suit. We'd be able to be together, and I could show you my dance moves." He said smiling, and she changed to her younger self.
"It might work, since it's a big event ministry officials would be there as well so we could blend into the crowd more easily."
"So is that a yes?" he asked her hopefully.
"It's a yes." she said and he happily spun her around the room before he kissed her.
"I can't wait for tonight." He smiled.
"Me nether."
Down in the quartets headquarters, the Joker was explained to his partners in chaos his complex plan.
"Do we need to get hair from Batman to make this potion work right?" asked George with a grin.
"Yup, I still remember the recipe from last year." said Harry.
"Why were you using pollyjuice potion last year?" asked the Joker.
"I was trying to see if Draco Malfoy,"
"You mean that kid that Scarecrow gassed near the beginning of the year?" asked the Joker.
"Yeah him, any way I was trying to see if he was the heir of Slytherin who was killing off all the muggle borns." explained Harry.
"Okay now I get it. So Fred, George, you two said you could get some of Batsy's hair?" questioned the Joker.
"Yup!" exclaimed Fred as he stood up, bringing his twin, who had grasped Fred's arm, up with him.
"Right away!" chirped George and the twins marched out of the chamber to retrieve a lock of Batman's hair.
"Sooo…is what you said in therapy, about wanting to adopt me true?" asked Harry once the twins had left.
"Of course I meant it Harry. Who wouldn't want to have you as their adopted son? I mean with a mind like yours filled with diverse ways of how to kill people, it would be fun to have you around." assured the Joker.
"So this isn't just a joke? Cause even though I love them, this is sort of serious." Harry said looking down embarrassed. The Joker sighed.
"Harry, there isn't much I'm serious about, but I am about this. I seriously do want you as my son and I am going to do whatever I can to make it happen, that is if you want me to..." The Joker said sincerely.
"Yeah I would like that." said Harry with a smile. The Joker smiled back, his mind dead set on having Harry as his son by the time he's forced back to Gotham, and when the Joker sets his mind on something, nothingcan stop him.
Just then the twin walked back into the room carrying a vial of brown hair and four Bat suit replicas.
"We got it!" exclaimed the two in unison.
"Great, but how'd you get them?" urged Harry.
"Well it went sorta like this…" started Fred.
-Flash back to half an hour ago-
Fred and George walked to the portrait that concealed the guest dorms. The portrait smiled at them and asked for the pass word.
"Killing is fun!" whispered the twin to the painting. She smiled and let them in. The twins looked around the room for Batman's things and found his bat suit lying across the bed. How convenient for them they thought. Fred did the incantations as they made copies while George looked out for Batman. The bathroom door was partially open as George peered in happily to see that a man in a dark plan t-shirt and pants was in the bathroom as he was freshening up. He had to be batman unmasked thought George.
"Hey Fred, I know where we can get the hair sample." George called quietly to his brother. Fred looked over at George as they exchanged mischievous grins to each other. Batman had been in the bathroom as he dried his hands on a towel. When he opened the door there was a tall red headed boy with a camera.
"Now smile and wait for the flash!" yelled Fred, and then he heard a humming noise from behind him. Before he could comprehend what was going on he turned to see another red-headed boy with a razor as he quickly swiped at Batman's head as he left a thin strip of his head bare. The boy quickly collected all the hair with a flick of his wand and then the two were rushing out of the room before Batman could clobber them. He could hear Fred and George laughing down the halls as they ran back to the Joker and Harry.
-Present Time-
Fred and George smiled dreamily as they remembered their encounter with Batman. The Joker and Harry laughed as they saw the picture. Luckily for Batman, the Joker couldn't see his face in the picture.
"Good work boys, now all we need is the potion."
"And I know just where to get it." said Harry laughing. They walked into the potion class room as they whistled nonchalantly as they tried to seem casual. All four of them walked into the storage room to get the pollyjuice potion that Snape fortunately had. They then whistled back out just as Severus had walked into the room. The Joker turned around as he smiled at Snape. His scars elongated his sinister smile as the joker raised his finger to his lips to indicate Snape to keep his mouth shut about them ever being there. 'What the Hell?' thought Snape. The boys then laughed down the halls as their plans were going along smoothly, for now.
The masquerade ball was held in the Great Hall. Huge carved pumpkins decorated the room with the starry ceiling and floating candles. There were dancing skeletons and the suits of armor were singing Halloween songs. The children had been sent off to bed as the occasion was only for adults. witches and wizards from all over the world came to the event. Most were very high ranking in society. Dumbledore wore dark plum purple robes and a top hat with a black can. He wore an elaborate fiery orange mask as he was parading through the crowd socializing. Two-Face attracted great attention since he was always good at speaking with people. The library books seemed to pay off as he was able to talk to many people about debatable topics as he mostly persuaded everyone to see it his way. These magical folks are so gullible he thought. His phantom of the opera masked worked too since they all saw his lovely charming side instead of his scared side.
Cat Woman and Poison Ivy were talking up a storm with some wizards. They were both very beautiful woman. Poison Ivy had her bright red hair down as she wore a green mask made out of vines from her plants. Her dress was of a light green as well that shimmered pink when she walked. Cat Woman wore an open backed tight fitted black velvet dress as her blonde hair was pinned to fall on one side. Her mask was also of black velvet as it covered around her eyes and her lips were bright red.
Scarecrow kept to himself at the party as no one really paid attention to him, and he didn't mind. The Riddler started shooting riddles at some witches and wizards, though they were unable to answer most of them. What a pity he thought. If only Luna were here. She would know the answers.
Batman, aka Bruce Wane, waited by the entrance door for Minerva. He wore a black ironed suit and had a red rose tucked into his coat pocket. He waited for her nervously, and then he saw her. She came down the stairs as she wore a satin maroon V-neck cut dress as it had the same cut on the back. It moved like water as she walked. Her mask was of gilded gold as it covered from her forehead down to her nose. She was her young self as her black hair was curled and pinned so that half of it was up and the other half was down.
"You look beautiful." he complimented her, and kissed her.
"Thank you." She said after she pulled away from the kiss. He placed his hand on the small of her back to lead her into the boisterous crowd inside.
Down in the head quarters the quartet had the pollyjuice potion ready.
"And now all we have to do is add the hair your two got." explained Harry with a grin. The four smiled and each grabbed a hair from the vile and dropped it into their own cups of potion. They then raised their glasses in a toast before downing their drinks. They each dropped the glasses and stumbled backwards. The feeling of bone moving was exactly as Harry remembered it. When Harry looked up he was staring at two other copies of Batman, unmasked, and one young woman who was about in her late twenties who had long raven black hair and bright emerald green eyes.
"Holly hell! Batsy is Bruce Wayne?" exclaimed he Joker who was smiling at the realization.
"Who's Bruce Wayne?" asked Harry.
"He's the owner of Wayne enterprises and known throughout the city for being an unintellectual playboy." explained the Joker with a smile.
"Bloody hell, who the fuck am I?" asked Fred as he looked down on his now feminine body.
"You almost look like a younger version of Minnie…"said George as he looked at his now identical twin, "Hehe…now I have two sisters, won't mom be proud." teased George.
"Are you sure Ginny's a girl?" joked Harry, and the twins thought about it.
"Eh, who knows?" they said simultaneously as they shrugged their shoulders.
"The real question is, is how did we get Min's hair mixed with, Batsy's hair?" questioned Harry, and the twins looked real hard at each other.
"Wait, if I'm really Minnie, than this is how she really looks like." exclaimed Fred as he looked at himself, or more like herself.
"Are you checking yourself out Fred?" asked George amused.
"Well can you blame me?" he asked smiling, "So if Min's hair was on Batman that means they were really close to each other for her hair to on him."
"Oh it's like a secret love affair!" exclaimed Harry happily.
"Minnie is in love with a rapist!" added George.
"What if she was raped by him?" asked Joker with fake horror on his face. The four laughed and started to get dressed in the bat man costumes the twin had gotten.
"Should I put this on or get a different costume?" asked Fred as he held the too-big bat suit up.
"Uh….hold on a sec…" said George as he finished getting dressed. He then turned and waved his wand at Fred's outfit. It shrunk and transformed until it was a short, black mini skirt with the utility belt and a black halter top with the bat symbol in the center. Black gloves that reach up to the elbows and a matching pair of black knee-high boots could also be found. A bat cowl and cape finished off the outfit. All in all, it looked like a sluty, female version of the bat suit.
"I am not putting that, that thing on!" exclaimed Fred as he back away from it in horror.
"Too bad! You have too! Or else…" threated George with a grin.
"Or else what?" challenged Fred. George didn't reply; he only locked eyes with the other two bat man replicas. They all grinned and started walking towards Fred.
"Guys…Guys…hey, what are you doing! No I don't want to wear it!" Fred's pleas were futile.
The four soon stood inform of the great hall, excited to start causing chaos.
"I hate you all." deadpanned Fred.
"Love you too!" exclaimed George. The four walked in and looked around. They were just about to break off when something caught the Joker's eye that made an idea form in his mind. He quickly pulled the younger three back out of the room.
"I have an idea…" said the Joker.
"What is it?" asked Harry. The Joker didn't respond, instead he grabbed George and pulled him over to the door. He opened it slightly and poked his head in. He also pulled George's head next to his so he could see what he was looking at.
"See what the really Minnie is wearing?" asked Joker.
"Yeah" responded George.
"Make Fred's outfit look like that!" exclaimed the clown with a grin. Confused, George did what he was told. The others watched confused as The Joker lead them back into the hall, just out of sight of Batman and Minnie.
"Mind telling us what's going on?" asked Fred not at all happy with his new outfit change.
"Can you pose as Minnie all night?" asked The Joker to Fred.
"Probably…" said Fred still unsure of where this was heading.
"Okay then, just go with it!" exclaimed the Joker. He then watched as the real batman walked off.
"Anyone know how we can get her away quietly?" asked the Joker. The other's then understood what was going on and nodded.
The real Batman and Minerva were dancing to the music. Once the music stopped Batman took hold of Minerva's hand and kissed her palm all the way down to her wrist.
"Would you like a drink my dear?" asked Batman.
"Yes thank you." responded Minerva. Batman placed a small kiss on her soft lips before he left her side. Minerva watched him leave amongst the crowd. She smiled only to feel a sharp pain on her back as she fell limp into George's hands. Luckily they hadn't been spotted and he dragged her out. Harry shoved Fred to where Minerva was before she had been struck by the red beam of light.
"What am I supposed to do?" asked Fred frantically.
"Act like Minnie." Harry replied before he sunk into the shadows with Minerva's unconscious body.
"Here, I hope you like butter beer." came Batman's voice. Fred cleared his throat as he tried to sound more feminine.
"I do thank you." Fred replied. Batman heard her hoarse voice as he wondered what happened to her silky soft musical voice that he loved.
"Min, are you alright?"
"Yes why?" asked Fred now nervous as he sipped the butter beer.
"It's just your voice, its different." replied Batman looking at Minerva who wouldn't look at him. Something changed about her. The way she carried herself with grace was gone as Fred was instead slumping and the way Minerva also would look at him, but now she wasn't. Something wasn't right and he knew it.
"Oh it's just I have just fell under the weather, but I'll be fine." lied Fred.
"You don't look sick." Batman pointed out, but just them he heard the Joker's insane laugh.
"Why hello everybody! I do hope you're all enjoying Halloween cause things are about to get a whole lot more, uh, interesting! Your drinks tonight were donated by our very own Dr. Crane! Yes indeed folks! That means you all are now going to get the pleasure of trying his new and improved fear toxin! Why don't you all give him a round of applause?" The Joker then laughed and Jonathan took a bow. People all around dropped their glasses as the effects of fear toxin started to appear. Then Harry's voice rang out around the hall.
"Also a challenge to Batsy, can you both save the good people from Jonny's new fear toxin and save your lovely Minnie from her oil and C-4 death at the same time?" Harry's laugher was joined by his soon-to-be father's.
"Good-luck!" exclaimed a third voice that was clearly one of the twins. Batman turned to the Minnie he was with only to see her youthful face bubble away to that of one of the young red headed boys who had attacked him while getting ready.
"You!" exclaimed Batman pointing to Fred.
"Gotta run, thanks for the butter beer!" proclaimed Fred before he darted off out of the great hall. Fred sprinted down the hallway to meet up with his two friends and twin. He caught up to them in the hallway before the Gryffindor common room.
"Hey all!" said Fred with a grin as he approached the group. The Joker had Minnie slung over his shoulder like a potato sack and they had all turned back into their original selves. All of their bat suits were at least several sized too big.
"Nice dress" teased George. Fred just glared.
"Turn it back." George just grinned and waved his wand. The dress changed back into the female batman costume. The trio minus Fred laughed and continued walking. Fred scowled at them but followed.
"So why aren't we going to the chamber?" asked Fred.
"Well we don't want to blow up our base do we?" replied Harry. Fred nodded seeing the logic in his companion's statement. They turned the corner and saw a large black dog clawing at the Gryffindor entrance painting.
"Does Hogwarts have a mascot?" questioned The Joker as he shifted the women on his shoulder. The dog turned at the voices and stared at them. His eyes shadowed over them and seemed to raise an eye brow at their captive.
"I didn't know dogs could raise an eyebrow." stated Harry. The dog's eyes quickly located the boy who spoke. The Creature's eyes widened before the animal started to shift forms. Instead of a dog before them stood a man with black, shoulder length, string hair and an unshaven face. He was fairly tall, and clearly under fed emaciated body. His grey eyes shone with wild insanity and desperate hope as he approached the group.
"Harry is that really you?" asked the man as he reached towards Harry. The Joker stared at the man and stepped protectively in front of his soon-to-be son.
"Who are you?" he asked looking straight into the man's grey eyes.
"Sirius Black" the man introduced himself.
"Aren't you trying to kill me?" asked Harry from behind The Joker.
"No! I'm not trying to kill you! I'm your god father, why would I want to kill you?" questioned Sirius.
"Not really sure, but that's what all the people have been telling me" stated Harry stepping out from behind The Joker.
"Well, they're all idiotic gits and they can go fuck themselves." stated Sirius.
"I like him!" proclaimed The Joker with a crazed grin. Sirius turned his attention away from his godson and to the other three in the hallway.
"And you are…" probed the man.
"How rude of me! You can call me…The Joker!" exclaimed the smiling mad man. The three teens giggled at his over dramatic introduction. The black haired man nodded and turned to the twins.
"I am the amazing, fantastic, George Weasley!" cried George with a large smile.
"And I am his twin, the insanely good looking Fred Weasley!"
"More like just straight out insane…" whispered Harry to the group.
Fred sneered at him, "You're one to talk"
"I'm not the one in a female batman suit." Harry shot back without missing a beat. The group, Harry, Joker, and George laughed while Fred glared and Sirius stood there confused.
"Speaking of that, why are you all in those suits, except you," Sirius gestured to Fred," and carrying Minnie over your shoulder?"
"Come along with us and we will explain everything!" Sirius shrugged and followed having nothing better to do now that he has found Harry.
"So where're we heading?" asked Sirius as they walked.
"Not the slightest idea! We are just trying to find a place where we can blow up large amounts of explosions and not bring down the castle." explained The Joker," Know anyplace that fits the bill?" Sirius thought for a moment before speaking.
"Why do you need a place like that?" he asked.
"We are going to see if Batsy can save both the party goers from Crane's fear toxin and save Minnie from C-4 and oil at the same time." explained Harry.
"Couldn't that kill her?" asked the confused man.
"Yup! But that's what makes so much fun! Come on lighten up! Why so serious, Sirius?" The Joker giggled at how well his favorite question worked with the man's name. The Other three laughed and Sirius couldn't help but join in. Maybe it was his pranking side being twisted by his years spent in Azkaban but he couldn't help himself.
"I think I know a place that could work, but you have to tell me what's going on cause I'm so confused right now." Sirius grinned at the quartet.
"Sure we'll explain on the way! Now where is this place you speak of?" asked The Joker with a grin. Sirius gestured them to follow and then lead them away. They walked for a while before coming to a blank section of wall.
"Uuuuummmmm….what?" stated The Joker bluntly. Sirius just grinned.
"Just paced back and forth in front of the wall while picturing the place you want." explained the escapee. The Joker looked confused but they shrugged and dropped Minnie to the ground before walking over to the wall and pacing. He walked for a few moments before two doors appeared. He walked over to the one on the right and it surprised him when he opened it. Inside was a chair with straps on it that was surrounded by many large barrels of oil and blocks of C-4 on the far end was a large electric trigger that was set to five minutes. A camera was in front of the chair and he smiled and shut the door. Turning to the next one he pulled it open and was pleased to see a fairly large room done in purples and greens with a large HD flat screen TV of Minnie over a stone fire place along with many other screens that showed the halls leading to the room of requirement, and a screen showing the Great Hall where the Halloween Ball was`. On the TV you could see the chair from the other room along with most of the oil barrels and the timer in the back ground. Surrounding the TV were plush looking chairs and a coffee table. On the table was the control to start the count down. In the back end of the room, there was a small kitchen and a door that he assumed would lead to a bathroom. The Joker's grin grew larger and he turned to the others and picked up Minnie.
"This will work perfectly!" he exclaimed and carried Minnie into the room and strapped her into the chair. He quickly made his way out and into the other room where the others were already waiting.
"We will start count down when she wakens!" he stated and then took a seat next to Harry, all of them giddy with anticipation.
Minerva's head throbbed. The Joker smiled when he saw her stir. Yes she's awake! Thought the Joker
"Hello there Professor," The Joker said wickedly, "where's your flying rodent?" He questioned and then laughed evilly along with Harry and the others. Minerva got her senses as she saw where she was. The Joker's laugh rebounded off the walls.
"What have you done?" asked Minerva looking around. She could smell a crude sent of oil and large blocks of something she did not recognize but she had the feeling they weren't good. Then there was a clock with a timer that had less than five minutes on it as it was counting down.
"I have set you in a room with C-4 and oil tanks. I think you get the picture. In less than five minutes you will be blasted into smithereens unless Batsy can get to you out in time." The Joker explained and then laughed. "Have fun waiting." The Joker then closed the microphone as he sat back on the couch to watch the show. The other four sat down leaving Sirius to question the Joker.
"Come on and sit down Sirius." The Joker offered as he indicated for Sirius to come sit by him. Sirius came to sit by the Joker but was still apprehensive.
"This isn't going to hurt Minnie right? It's just a prank." questioned Sirius.
"Of course it is Sirius. Lighten up, why so serious?" repeated the Joker as he gave Sirius his famous elongated smile.
Batman looked around the room as everyone was screaming from something. He had no idea how to help them. He didn't have the cure with him, and yet he didn't know how to save Minerva either. He didn't know where she was.
"Please help me from the spiders. They're everywhere." pleaded a wizard, but Batman couldn't see what the wizard was screaming about. He couldn't see the spiders, but apparently the wizard could as he saw the large spiders advance on him. Batman saw the wizard scream as he tried to help him, but the Wizard started screaming as blood rushed out of a freshly bite. Batman was confused. The fear toxin wasn't supposed to physically affect them; it was only supposed to make them go insane. He couldn't help these people as much as he wanted to. The fear Toxin was in their blood and not in smoke so he couldn't eliminate the source of it without killing the person.
The Only thing Batman could do was go save Minerva. He rushed out of the Great Hall as he tried to listen to hear if he could hear her, but he couldn't. All he could hear was the screaming from inside the Great Hall. He ran quickly down a hall not knowing if it was the right way, but he had to start somewhere. He kept running when a voice stopped him.
"Hey pretty boy!" Batman twisted around to see who it was that was calling him. "Over here." called the voice again. Batman looked at a painting of a woman in an 18th century dress that showed too much cleavage and had a tall white curled wig. She had powered pale skin, a fake black mole, painted red rosy lips, and pink blushed cheeks. She smiled at Batman and flirtatiously fanned herself with her ornate blue lace fan.
"Where are you going in such a hurry?" she asked in a soft tender voice. Batman didn't know paintings could talk. He thought they could just move.
"Ah, um well, I'm looking for the woman who's tied up by the Joker." answered Batman wondering whether the painting would be able to help him.
"Oh so you fancy her?" questioned the woman and then she shook her head. "What a shame and you are so cute."
Batman rolled his eyes as he got this a lot. "Do you know where she is?"
"Yes I do, follow me, and I'll take you to your lady friend." She teased as she started to walk through other portraits. "Excuse me." She's say in a high girly pitched voice when she walked through the paintings. Batman wanted to get to Minerva as quickly as possible, but the woman was walking.
"Could we pick up the pace please? I'm sort of in a hurry." Batman asked politely.
"A lady never runs." She exclaimed. He sighed as he continued to follow her. At this rate Minnie would be blown to pieces.
Minerva's wrists and back were strapped tightly to a wooden chair. She looked at the timer as her time dwindled down. She knew the Joker was up to this. 'That stupid old man!' she thought to herself. Her anger boiled. This was just like him! First he lets a three headed dog into the school to guard a stone. Then he leaves to a meeting on a broom while three students go down to retrieve the stone. He also planted the whomping willow on a school grounds. She couldn't count how many students were sent to the hospital wing because if it. He also hired the whack job for divination when she clearly stated that the woman couldn't predict the future for her life and she was right. Oh she hated him so much.
"Ah Joker, something's happening with Minerva." stated Fred as he watching her while the others were watching the chaos in the Great Hall.
"Don't worry, she can't do anything without her wand." assured George. Fred wasn't so sure as he looked back at the screen. She looked pissed as she struggled against the straps her mask was off as he could see the fury in her eyes.
"Ah Dent gave them the cure." said the Joker miserably. "He couldn't have just waited for a few more moments." The others laughed.
"Wait can they see Minnie?" asked Harry as he saw all the wizards looking at one direction.
"Oh yeah I put a screen there for Batman to see the fate of his Minnie." The Joker stated as he laid back on the couch and then switched the channel over to Minnie. He gawked as he saw how the room trembled.
"What's happening?" asked the Joker amazed.
"She's powerful and therefore she can channel her power without a wand." explained Sirius.
Minerva could feel her anger boil. Her magic was flowing rapidly through her body as she felt the straps snap as she tugged on them one last time. She then sat up quickly from her seat and searched around the room for a door of any kind. There wasn't one. There were just barrel after barrel of oil and the timer which had dwindled down to one last minute.
Batman was getting to be impatient with the painted woman as she walked as slow as a snail. He needed to get to Minerva and he needed to get to her now! A knight in heavy metal suit that was too big for him spotted them.
"Can we get there faster please? Her life is in danger!" yelled Batman as the woman looked shocked that he would raise his voice at her.
"Sorry sir, but I will not take that tone of voice for I am a lady." She said with her blue eyes with fury.
"A maiden in danger, why that's a job for me!" yelled the night as he ran towards them and bowed low to the ground.
"Sir Cadogan at your service, where is the maiden in distress?"
"I don't know. She was leading me to her, but I don't have a lot of time and I need to get there quickly." Batman uttered and then he felt like he was wasting time.
"I was leading him to his lady friend who is locked in the room of requirement." stated the woman to Sir Cadogan.
"I'll get you there, follow me!" he yelled as he mounted his horse and this time Batman had to sprint to catch up. Finally he was getting to Minerva and hopefully he wasn't too late. Sir Cadogan didn't stop to say excuse me when he ran through paintings which was a relief. Batman sprinted faster down the hall and up the stairs. He came to a blank wall where Sir Cadogan was on the other side.
"Well here is the room of requirement." He stated.
"But where's the door? How do you get in?" asked Batman frantic as he went to feel the walls for maybe a trapdoor or something, but there wasn't. Suddenly Batman had the wind knocked out of him as he was knocked against the opposite wall. Batman's head was knocked hard against the wall, but he recovered quickly as he looked around. There was a thick cloud of debris and rubble.
"I'm sorry lad, I guess we were too late." said Sir Cadogan as he took off his helmet in respect. Batman couldn't believe it. He couldn't have a relationship without the Joker trying to kill his love. He should never fall in love. There was a faint blue glow through the thick cloud. He slowly got up despite that every muscle in his body ached. Batman got closer to where there was a hole in the wall and saw a blue translucent dome surrounded a limp figure on the ground. It was Minerva. He rushed to her as the dome had collapsed. Her red satin dress was tattered and her mask was off. Her hair was disheveled as he bent down and cradled her in his arms. He saw the bright red marks against her pale porcelain skin that the leather straps had caused. He was going to kill the Joker for killing Minnie. He felt himself almost to tears. He bent his head low as he couldn't bring himself to look at her lifeless form.
He then felt her soft touch brush against his face. Batman looked at Minerva to see that her eyes were open as she gave him a crooked smile. He sighed in relief as he held her tighter to him.
"I thought I lost you." He told her as he rocked with her. She felt weak as the protective shield without a wand had taken a toll out of her.
"I'm fine." She managed to utter. They then heard a herd of rushed footsteps coming their way. They booth looked up to see Dumbledore along with other ministry officials.
"Minerva is that you?" asked Dumbledore shocked by her younger appearance. Minerva had forgotten that she was unmasked and in her younger form. She turned her face away.
"It's her, it's the raven!" cried one of the ministry officials excitedly.
Batman looked dumbfounded at Minerva. "The raven?"
"Long story." She replied and Dumbledore went towards his deputy as he helped her up.
"I knew you were that vigilante that they compared to the famous Raven. Who knew you were both." exclaimed Dumbledore with an all too knowing smile at Minerva.
"This is just my luck, can we get this over with?" she asked at Dumbledore. He smile and nodded.
"Yes Minerva you have just been through a traumatic experience." He said and then addressed the crowd. "My deputy is fine. Please make a path and let the woman go for tonight. She's been through a distressing experience." he said and they all nodded respectively as he walked Minerva through the crowd.
"Honor to meet you."
"I've heard so many stories about you."
"I can't believe you're alive." The people mumbled as she walked by. Batman was confused. Minerva was a mysterious woman and he would never completely get her past he thought. Dumbledore led her to her room and then he bowed respectively to Minerva.
"Feel better Min. I'll try to keep the publicity down." said Dumbledore.
"Thank you Albus." She said gratefully before she retired into her room. Batman followed her in. She collapsed on her uncomfortable couch as she looked weary.
"So are you going to tell me about the raven?" asked Batman as he looked at Minerva.
"Can we talk about this tomorrow?" she asked as she slowly got up and went to her bedroom and collapsed onto her bed.
"Alright, but I expect an explanation." He told her only to find that she was sleeping. He shook his head as he bent down and brushed away a lose strand on her hair and kissed her softly on the cheek before he left her side. He wanted to see how much damage Scarecrow did in the Great Hall.
Batman made his way back to the great hall, expecting to find it still in total chaos, but was surprised to find that almost everyone had been given the antidote and Harvey Dent was giving the last few screaming victims the cure. He made his way over to Dent as he finished with the last person.
"Dent, what are you giving them?" he asked.
"The cure, what else?" the man replied.
"Why would you of all people help others? You normally are more focused on killing people as opposed to helping them." Batman asked confused.
"It benefits me" was Two-Face's reply. Batman was about to ask how, when a ministry official came up to Dent.
"Thank you so much Harvey! We at the Ministry are forever in your debt!" the man exclaimed then quickly walked off. Batman narrowed his eyes.
"What do you have planned?" he asked. Harvey just smirked and walked off with a laugh.
In the room of requirement the group of five was laughing at the chaos they had caused.
"That was hilarious!" laughed Sirius, "and normally I'm not one who finds almost blowing up teachers and people running in fear funny."
"Well I guess your just starting to realize the funnier side of life!" exclaimed the Joker.
"Do you think that Dumbles is going to throw us in Azkaban?" asked Harry with a laugh.
"Probably" the twin announced together. The three were silent for a second before they fell to the ground laughing.
"Don't worry boys, we'll have Harvey as a lawyer, and he could probably get Voldie out of Azkaban if he wanted to." explained The Joker.
"Where was he when I was being thrown in?" asked Sirius with a smile.
"I bet I could convince him to take your case and have you proven innocence." said the Joker.
"Really?" asked Sirius looking The Joker in the eye. They locked eyes and the Joker's grin widen. Sirius blushed and looked away causing the Joker's grin to broaden. The twin and Harry saw the interaction and stifled laughter. Time to play match maker…
"Where is the fat lady?" a voice from the screen caused the five to look up. On the screen was Dumbledore staring at the scratched portrait. The old man looked panicked. Dumbledore turned to Filch, who had shown him the portrait.
"Sirius Black is in the castle, get the other teacher and spread out to search for him."
"What about the Gryffindors?" asked Filch.
"Why they will sleep in the great hall with teacher supervision, now go." declared Dumbledore.
The group watched the exchange with little interest. Then Sirius spoke up.
"I should probably go; I don't want to be caught." He said as he stood up. The Joker grabbed his wrist before he could walk far and pulled him back. The smaller man fell very close to the clown, who wrapped his arm around Sirius's waist and held him in place.
"You don't have to leave…you could just stay here in the room of requirements...and I could stay here to keep you company…" The Joker giggled slightly as Sirius blushed. Harry and the twins saw where this was heading and decided to leave…
"Well...um…I-I…" Sirius stammered as he attempted to remove the Joker's arm. The clown laughed and stood up and took Sirius's hand. He softly kissed the top of it, leaving a red lipstick stain.
"I Suppose I can wait if you're nervous…" The Joker giggled and turned to the three kids who were at the door attempting to leave.
"Let us leave our new friend to prepare for sleep." and with those parting words the group left with Joker throwing a wink at Sirius over his shoulder. Sirius gawked at the door for a few moments after they left before looking down at his red-stained hand.
"Was I just hit on?"
The next day at the group therapy meeting Dumbledore sat down next to Minerva who was looking her natural self now that her secret was out. Minerva was still mad at him. He wouldn't send the Gotham people back even though they almost killed everyone in the Great Hall and tried to blow her up. He figured that it would take about a few minutes before she'd talk to him again since she'd be complaining about something that was happening at the meeting. Now that Dumbledore thought about it the meetings didn't seem that productive to helping the villains. Snape looked at Minerva shocked that she looked younger than he did.
"Did you get some work done?" asked Snape as Minerva glared at him.
"I was cursed to look like this so I don't want to hear it Severus!"
"I wouldn't say cursed, more like blessed." She looked at him dumbfounded. Did he just compliment her or was that just her imagination? Batman on the other hand saw it as a compliment as he didn't like it at all, but Minerva still advised him that they should keep their relationship a secret so he held himself back from decking the git. The others started to file in as the next group therapy session was in order.
"So I hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night despite the drama that took place." Dumbledore said once everyone was seated. He then took out a basket full of hand puppets that looked like another person in the group. He then flicked his hand as they were all passed out to everyone. Severus looked at it weirdly along with all the other villains.
"Sir, what are these for?" asked Severus as he got a puppet that looked like Dumbledore.
"You're all going to play with them-" Dumbledore was cut off by Fred.
"In bed!"
Dumbledore looked at Fred with a little smile and then continued. "As lovely as that thought maybe, we'll actually be using the puppets to say how the person that you have might really feel without judgment." The villains looked at their puppets still not knowing what to do with them while Harry and the twins started having a puppet war.
"Alright for example," Dumbledore put his hand in the puppet that looked like Severus as he turned to Severus. "I think your beard is very nice."
"In bed." cut off George. Severus looked at Dumbledore incredulously as Minerva tried not to laugh.
"I wouldn't say that!" snapped Severus.
"Ah, no judgment Severus." reminded Dumbledore. Severus gritted his teeth as he thought two could play at this game. He lifted his puppet who was Dumbledore as he started to speak.
"I'm an old pervert."
"That wasn't very nice." Dumbledore replied a bit sadly.
"No judgments Dumbledore." mocked Severus. Minerva looked to see that she got Batman as Batman had her. She smiled as she realized what that old coot was up to. He gave people the puppets of who they liked or if no one in the room liked them then they would get themselves.
"Why do I have Ivy?" asked Crane as he look at the red head he had been passed.
"I don't know I have you and what's wrong with me?" questioned Ivy.
"I thought you didn't like male scientist?" asked Crane trying to change the subject.
"In bed" interjected Fred.
"I thought you didn't like women."
"In bed" it was George this time.
"Use the puppets and remember, no judgment!" exclaimed Dumbledore. The two scientists sighed and then Ivy smirked.
"I can't get any." She said in a high pitch voice as she held up the Crane puppet. Jonathan glared.
"I sell myself out on the street." He said mocking Ivy. Ivy flushed and threw the puppet in her hand at crane before tackling the scientist to the ground. They rolled around for a few moments and the group sat in silence as they watched.
"Get a room!" exclaimed Harry with grin. The two on the ground flushed and quickly go up and parted from each other to return to their seats. Harry giggled and turned to Luna holding up his Luna puppet.
"Hello Harry Potter" Harry sad in a dreamy voice as he addressed the Harry puppet that Luna was holding.
"Hello Luna" Luna replied in character.
"You have a Nargle infestation" Harry replied.
"That's terrible! Can you help me get rid of them?" Luna asked with fake alarm.
"Yes, all we have to do is remove them though the mouth." Said Harry. By now the whole room was focused on the two.
"Really how do you do that?" asked Luna still acting with the Harry puppet.
"Like this…" Harry said and moved his puppet forward to bump lips with the Harry puppet in a puppet kiss.
"That's not how you remove Nargles!" exclaimed Luna.
"Keep your puppet hands off my sister!" exclaimed the Riddler, but Luna and Harry Ignored him.
"This is how you remove Nargles…"Luna said as she leaned forwards and locked lips with the real Harry.
"Joker control your son!" said Edward to The Joker.
"You might want to control you sister instead…" The Joker replied and pointed to Luna and Harry who by now had discarded the puppets. Luna had her arms around Harry's neck and Harry's arm rested around her thin waist. The twins laughed at each other then grinned.
"Get a room!" the two exclaimed in unison. Harry flipped them off but the two separated and sat back in their own seats, though their hands where intertwined.
"Soooo…..who's next?" Harry asked not caring for the looks he got.
"How about my brother and Harvey?" said Luna as she grinned at them. The two stared at her.
"What are you trying to imply?" asked Harvey.
"Just because we have each other's puppet means nothing!" said The Riddler with a faint blush on his cheeks.
"Sure it doesn't…" Harry said with a grin understanding what Luna was saying. The two men glared. Luna stood and walked over to their and slung her arms around their shoulders, pushing them together.
"Come on! We all know you two love each other!" she said and then quickly retreated back to her seat. Harry then leant over and whispered in her ear.
"Why'd you do that?"
"I stole Harvey's coin! I have an idea, want to help?"
"Hell yeah! What are we doing?"
"Meet me in front of the abandoned class room after the meeting; we are getting my brother and Harvey together!" Luna exclaimed quietly with a giggle and Harry joined in, ignoring the cautious looks Two-face and Riddler were sending.
The Joker looked at his puppet and saw it was himself with his insane smile. He looked at his puppet and then at Dumbledore.
"Can my puppet be a dog?" he asked.
"Why?" asked Dumbledore.
"Well I found this dog, and I want to keep it, can I?" asked the Joker. Dumbledore thought about it and thought maybe having a pet would be a good thing for the Joker. Snape then raised his puppet of Dumbledore.
"No." Snape said flat out. The Joker smiled at Severus.
"But I'll take care of it and everything."
"No, you tried to blow Minerva up! You lost the privilege of having a pet."
"Then can I have the dog?" asked Harry seeing where the Joker was going with this.
"No you helped him, and besides you have a pet." snapped Severus. Minerva looked at Harry with disbelief. No, Harry couldn't have helped, would he?
"Yeah, but I don't have a dog." whined Harry.
"I don't care, you're not keeping the dog, and that's the end of that!"
"That's unfair!" yelled Harry.
"Severus I really don't think it's your decision whether he can keep the dog or not even if you have Dumbledore's puppet. It's the Headmaster's decision." stated Minerva. Dumbledore then nodded in appreciation and then looked at Harry.
"I'm sorry Harry you can't have the dog."
"Ahhh damn it." replied Harry.
"You can't have the dog," continued Dumbledore now looking at the Joker, "because the Joker asked for the dog first. I think having a pet to be responsible for will be good for you."
"Thank you headmaster, I'll take good care of him." Thanked the Joker.
"In bed." interjected the twins at the same time.
"So I think we should end this group therapy session for today." Dumbledore stated. "I shall leave you all with one last thought. Those who BEHAVE can go to Hogsmeade." The villains looked at him curiously. Minerva couldn't believe that Albus would allow them out of Hogwarts.
"What's Hogsmeade?" asked Cat Woman.
"Hogsmeade is a little wizarding town that's a fifteen minute walk from here." explained Dumbledore.
"Ah damn, I guess I'm not going." said the Joker and the other villains nodded. "Do you really think I'll behave just for a fieldtrip?"
"Yeah you're right dad, it's not worth it." agreed Harry. Dumbledore was shocked when he heard this from Harry.
"Dad?" asked the Joker looking at Harry.
"Yeah…it's okay if I call you that, right?" questioned Harry nervously.
"I'm honored to be called dad, son!" the Joker exclaimed then hugged his son.
"Dad?" repeated Dumbledore.
"Yes, it's what sons call their adopted fathers."
"Adopted father?"
"Yes Dumbles, he's my adopted father."
"I don't think so Harry, or else I would have known about it." replied Dumbledore looking prudent.
"Well you don't know everything now do you?"
"I'm your Headmaster, I know when my students switch guardians and I know that The Joker has not gained custody of you." explained Dumbledore as he looked at the two.
"Well, technically I have not yet to actually gain custody of Harry, but Harvey here is going to help me!" The Joker exclaimed gesturing to Harvey who looked up in alarm.
"I am?" He asked surprised.
"Yep you are!" said the Joker.
"When did I agree to this?" Two-Face asked.
"About a week or two ago, when you and Edward found that bottle of Wizard Whiskey and you both got drunk off your asses. You agreed to help right before Edward and you both stumbled off your room…" The Joker trailed off with a grin. Both Harvey and Edward blushed slightly and glared at the Joker.
"We did no such thing!" exclaimed Harvey as he glared harder.
"I haven't been wasted in years!" followed Edward. Harvey look at Edward when he spoke then looked away blushing harder.
"Then why was Eddie limping last week?" asked Harry joining in on his father's taunting. The two turned their glares onto the boy.
"Fuck you all." With that Two-Face stormed out.
"In bed!" exclaimed the twins.
"I'm leaving too." The Riddler also walked out. Once the two had left Luna quickly made her way over to Harry and grabbed his arm pulling him towards the door.
"We have things to do!" she exclaimed as they left. The others looked on curiously before shrugging and also leaving. Luna and Harry ran around the castle placing signs and objects all leading to one room. As the placed the final riddle above the door Luna grinned and pulled Harry off to locate Edward.
Batman stood up and followed Minerva out the doors.
"So are you going to tell me about the Raven?" he whispered when he was near her.
"Not here, later." She replied and he nodded as they went separate ways. Cat Woman eyed them in envy. She knew there was something going on.
Edward was walking towards the Library when Luna and Harry jumped him. Luna had walking out from a room with a smile and waved at him.
"Hello brother" she said. The Riddler smiled at his little sister.
"Hello Luna, what are you up to?" he asked.
"Oh, just playing match maker." She replied. Before he could ask what she meant Harry jumped out from behind a suit of armor and wacked the man over the head. The force of the blow knocked him out and he slumped to the ground. Harry then discarded the stick and dragged the man into the room Luna had just exited. Luna followed closing the door.
"Why did you use a stick instead of a stunner?" Luna asked as she helped Harry bind Edward's hands and feet.
"I've always wanted to do that." Harry replied and opened the door for Luna once they finished tying the ropes on Edward. Luna quickly walked to the wall and pulled out her wand. She quickly used it to write a riddle on the wall.
To escape this room you must confess
The feelings you have tried to dismiss
The door will not open unless your true feelings are shone
And the deal is sealed with a kiss
Harvey sighed as he sat down, still embarrassed from the therapy session.
" Stupid, Joker implying things that weren't true. I did not get together with Edward and I do not want to push him against the wall and kiss the man breathless…damn it Harvey focus!" Harvey muttered to himself as he walked. He got to his room and noticed a letter on his bed. He opened it and read.
With a flip of a coin, you choose your fate
But now the coin is gone, the choice is yours to make
Follow the riddles to find want you want
Even if you won't admit it to yourself
Harvey started at the note for a second before reaching his hand into the pocket that held his coin. His fingers only touched fabric.
"EDWARD!"
Meanwhile, cross the castle, Edward was just waking up. His green eyes scanned the room and he made a move to stand, but found it surprisingly difficult to due to his hands and feet being bound.
"What the hell?" he said aloud. He finally managed to sit up and get a good look of the room. His eyes fell on the message on the wall.
"Sealed with a kiss? What the fuck?" he said as he went to work attempting to figure out the riddle.
Harvey followed the trail of riddles to a door in an out of the way hall way. Above the door was another riddle. He ignored it and went to open the door. It wouldn't budge. He looked back up to the riddle.
What lies in wait for your weakest moment
Can break a heart and keep it whole
"Uh….love?" Said Harvey out loud, feeling slightly stupid for thinking that answering the riddle would open the door. Edward can't do magic…then the door clicked open. Harvey cautiously stepped inside and the door closed and locked.
"Hey Harvey, can you untie me?" Harvey's head turned to see the bound man he had been searching for.
"So you don't have anything to do with this?" Harvey asked making his way over to Edward. He Kneeled down and started to untie his friend.
"So why are you here?" asked Edward.
"Why are you bound here?" Dent shot back. He got Edwards hands lose and then started on his feet.
"I can untie myself now that my hands are untied you know." Edward said and moved his hands to try and untie his feet but Harvey swatted them away and continued.
"I know"
"So why are you still untying them?"
"Because I can" Two-Face said. He finished unknotting the rope and stood. He extended his hand and helped the Riddler stand.
"Do you know why we both ended up in a locked room?" he asked.
"Before I was hit over the head and tied, I saw my sister. When I asked her what she was up to, she told me she was playing match maker." Edward replied as he rubbed his sore wrists and walking over to slump against the wall.
"Do you know how to get out?" Harvey asked as he looked at the man before him, trying to get the image of a bound Edward out of his mind. Edward just shrugged and pointed to the message on the wall.
"Sealed with a kiss?"
"That's what I said, my little sister is crazy. She somehow managed to charm the door not to open until we kiss. Damn little sister…" The Riddler trailed off and looked to the ground.
"Edward…" the man looked up, surprised at how close Harvey had managed to get without him noticing. Edward blushed and looked down as Harvey put a hand under his chin to lift his head. Riddler looked him in the eyes and blushed.
"Um…Harvey…w-what are you doing?"
"We have to kiss to get out."
"But why are yo-" Harvey cut Edward off by kissing him. Edward gasped and slowly closed his eyes, bringing one hand up to grasp Harvey's arm. Harvey deepened the kiss and wrapped one arm around the Riddler's waist to pull him closer. As they broke apart for air they heard a lock click and they looked over to see the door had opened. Harvey stepped away from the smaller man to look at the door.
"Well…um…I think that worked" Harvey said as he blushed, "I…uh...have to go" he said hastily then quickly took his leave. The Riddler stood against the wall for a few seconds before he managed to catch his breath. He attempted to push down his blush and then left the room and started back on his way to the library, though he knew his mind won't be on the books…
Minerva was in her office grading papers trying to keep her mind busy. She was almost blown up and now she had just recently been returned her wand from an anonymous person. Her quill moved fast across the page as she made red marks on one of her student's papers. A knock on her door disrupted her thoughts.
"Door's open, come in." she informed the person who was on the other side of the door. She heard the door open and then click close. She looked up to see a dark black cloaked masked figure. She smiled as it was Batman.
"Hello, what may I do for you?" she asked in her teacher tone.
"I was wondering if we could discuss the Raven right now if you don't mind." He said smiling and she indicated for him to take a seat. She sighed and leaned back in her seat.
"Do muggles have sort of a government sort of agents?"
"Yes," answered Batman a bit confused by the question, "we do. We have the CIA, FBI, and I'm sure we have a lot more that I don't know about."
Minerva nodded and slightly smiled before she continued, "Well magical people have them too. They're beyond aurors and the magical law enforcement. We have secret agents that had code names and mine was the Raven."
"You were an agent?" questioned Batman.
"Yes, I was one of the best aurors, and so they bumped me up to an agent when the Second World War took place. I've made my mark on history shall we say, and then one day I decided to move on."
"So now you teach here." stated Batman as he wondered why she would suddenly want to move on.
"Yes now I teach here, anything else you want to know?"
"I know there's more to the story, but I won't pressure you further, though I'd like to know one more thing."
"Oh, and what's that?" questioned Minerva as she raised her right left eyebrow.
"Now that your secret is out, can we come out openly with ours?" asked Batman. He saw how Minerva was apprehensive as she thought about the idea.
"Well I think it is safe to show a little affection, but we don't need to announce it." she replied and Batman replied with a wide smile. He took off his mask so he could see her more clearly.
"You know I like you better unmasked." she said as he rounded her desk to stand in front of her. She stood up from her seat to wrap her arms around his neck. Her green eyes sparkled at him as he wrapped his arms around her waist to bring her towards him.
"I like it better when you're yourself." He told her before he kissed her softly.
When they pulled away she replied smiling, "I do too."
The Joker walked into the room of requirement and shut the door quietly. Sirius was asleep on the couch. He had taken a shower and gotten and new, non-ripped clothes. Black locks of hair were laid out messily on the pillow and he was slightly curled into himself. The Joker smiled at the sight and walked over to Sirius. He shook his shoulder lightly and watched as his eyes opened.
"Hey Joker" Sirius said with a yawn as he sat up.
"Hey! Want to go for a walk?" asked the mad man.
"How? I can't be seen…" Sirius trailed off unsure of what the Joker meant. Then the clown held up a dog collar and leash. Sirius's eyes widened and he jumped up and backed away.
"You are not getting that on me!" he exclaimed.
"Aw come on! You would be in your dog form and it would allow you to get out more."
"Wouldn't people question why you had a dog?" asked Sirius trying to persuade the man not to put the collar on him.
"Dumbles said I could have a dog and I thought it would be a good way to allow you to get out and wander if I claim you're my pet!" the Joker explained and approached Sirius.
"I could just follow you. There is no need for a leash!" Sirius exclaimed and tried to get away from the clown but the Joker tackled him to the ground and pinned him down.
"I don't need you wandering off…with all those dementors around, I need to keep you close in order to protect you…" He managed to snap the collar on and then stood up, happy with his victory. Sirius glared.
"This is only the second time I've met you and you already want to protect me?" said Sirius.
"Yup! Now go all doggy like so we can go, I bet your tired of being stuck here." The Joker replied and then watched in interest as Sirius turned into his animagus form. His fur was cleaner than the first time he saw him. It was black and silky. His steel gray eyes looked at the Joker as the Joker smiled.
"Come on boy! Let's go!" called the Joker. Sirius gave a little growl and then barked before he walked to the Joker's side.
On the other side of the castle was Harvey Dent walking around, trying to clear his mind of previous events. He wandered for a few minutes before the bell rang and students flooded the hallway. He chose a random door and entered, not wanting to deal with children at the moment. It was completely empty except for a mirror. The mirror stood tall before him with a golden intricate frame.
Curious as to why there was just a mirror in the room, he walked up to it. He looked in it and expected to see just his scarred reflection. He grimaced at his appearance. He used to be handsome, but look at him now. Scarred as a monster, who could love him?
Suddenly in the mirror he saw the Riddler come up from behind him. He quickly turned around only to see that he was still alone. Harvey was confused as he looked back at the surface of the mirror. There was his reflection, no longer showing fear. Instead it mirrored him smiling beside the Riddler. His reflection then turned to face the Riddler with love in his eye. The last time he had seen the expression was when Rachel was still alive. The Riddler reached his arms around Two-Face's neck and kissed him on his scarred check, not frightened by his appearance at all. Harvey reached his hand up to where the Riddler had kissed him in the mirror as if he could feel the searing kiss. His reflection then wrapped his arms around Riddler in a hug. He stared for a moment more before his thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
"I've seen many people waste away in front of that mirror." Two-Face turned but so no one. Suddenly from within the shadows came a silhouette of a tall lean man. As Two-Face wondered who the man was; he came out of the shadows.
"Headmaster," Two-Face said astonished but then down casted his eyes embarrassed. Had he seen what he saw?
"Do not fret as I didn't see what you desired." Albus assured him as if he knew what Two-Face had been thinking of.
"Desire?"
"Yes the Mirror of Erised, it shows what you truly desire. For example I see myself with a nice pair of wool socks. You can never have too many socks." Dumbledore said with a smile, "What do you see my boy?"
"Nothing, I see nothing!" Harvey said quickly then took his leave. Dumbledore watched the retreating figure for a second before turning back to the mirror and his eyes sparkled at the sight of a certain potions master handing him his wool socks.
The empty halls were filled with the loud whistling of the Joker. He held the leash in his hand, not really pulling at all. Sirius slowly walked beside his so called master glumly. Sirius was counting down the minutes of when he could get his collar off as the Joker thought what he'd do with Sirius once he let Sirius off the leash. Their thoughts were interrupted when they rounded the corner. A gargoyle that guarded the staff room had just opened as students were giggling and laughing. They all talked animatedly from the exciting class they had just come from.
"Don't forget the homework is six inch paper on boggarts." called a voice after him. A tall thin man with shabby clothes came out of the room smiling as he was clearly pleased with how well his class went. Sirius saw the man as he barked happily and rushed over towards him, pulling a reluctant Joker behind him. The man froze as the medium sized dog leapt on him, knocking him down on the ground.
"Woah, Sirius, bad dog!" The Joker reprimanded, "Bad dog!" Sirius stopped to glare at The Joker before going back to Remus.
"Sirius? That's an…interesting name for a dog." said Remus raising an eyebrow as he pushed Sirius off him. He stood and looked at the Joker.
"I don't think we have met yet, I'm Remus Lupin, Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. And you are…?"
"Call me Joker!" The clown exclaimed while holding his hand out. Remus cautiously grasped his hand but quickly pulled back with a yelp.
The Joker held up his hand to reveal a small red button in his palm, "Joy buzzers, gets them every time!"
"Funny, now about your dog, you said his name is Sirius?" asked Remus glancing back at the black dog. At the sound of his name, Sirius looked up then darted into Remus's class room. The Joker and Remus quickly followed, the Joker shutting the door behind them. Remus scanned the room searching for the dog, went he spotted a dark shape move behind a desk. He slowly approached the desk and jumped back in surprise as a dark haired man jumped up in front of him.
"Sirius!" Remus shouted in fright as he took a step back.
"Well hello to you too Remus…" said Sirius as he stared at his friend. Remus quickly regained his senses and drew his wand.
"Hello!? HELLO!? You betrayed James and Lily, killed 13 muggles and Peter, and all you say is hello!?" screamed Remus.
"You killed 14 people? Interesting…" The Joker muttered to himself.
"No! I didn't kill them I would never betray James and Lily! It was Peter!" exclaimed Sirius.
"No killing? What a turn off…oh well I can fix that!" The Joker proclaimed with a grin. Both Sirius and Remus stopped for a second to stare, but then turned back to each other.
"Peter is dead! You killed him you death eater!" screeched Remus.
"Death eater? I'm not a death eater! See!" exclaimed Sirius then pulled down both sleeves to reveal his unblemished forearms.
"You're not a death eater?"
"That's what I've been trying to tell you!"
"So Peter's still alive?"
"Yes!"
"Well damn…." The two stared for a moment before laughing. The Joker watched in confusion at the two laughing men.
"Is there something I'm not getting?" the clown asked.
"I've thought for the past thirteen years that Sirius had betrayed three of my best friends and now I've discovered that my other friend Peter is really the one who did it!" Remus explained.
"And that's funny?" asked The Joker as he started to grin. Remus, still smiling replied.
"It just seems like his luck." Joker started laughing with the two.
"Will all staff members, Gotham guests, and students that participated in the previous Group therapy meetings, report to the great hall for our next session." Dumbledore's voice rang throughout the castle.
"Perfect timing." exclaimed the Joker, "Now I can show my new pet off!"
"Oh no…" Sirius started to back off but then Joker yanked on the leash that was still attached to the man.
"Oh come on Sirius, be a good doggie. We don't want to be late."
"Bite me!" Sirius yelled back as he continued to resist.
"Well if you insist…" the Joker responded and started to approach Sirius. The man watched apprehensively then changed into his dog form when the clown didn't back off. Remus watched with curiosity at the interaction between his friends and the madman.
The Joker led the dog out the door and towards the main hall. He then back tracked and stuck his head back in the room.
"Are you coming?" The Joker asked. Remus stared at the head, then shrugged and followed. The three walked quickly though the castle until they reached the great hall. They entered and found open seats next to Poison Ivy. She looked away from her conversation with Scarecrow to the new comers.
"Why did you bring a mutt?!" she screamed and jumped away. As she landed Scarecrow found himself with a lap full of Ivy.
"What's wrong with Sirius?" asked Joker with a pout. Ivy clung to Scarecrow more and tried to shield herself from the dog as he came closer.
"I hate Dogs!" Ivy replied. Joker laughed.
"Why? Dogs are amazing!" Joker knelt down and hugged Sirius. The dog squirmed and escaped the clown's grasp after a few seconds.
"I was attacked by my neighbor's Doberman when I was a little girl. I've been afraid ever since." She explained.
"I thought you were afraid of male scientists?" inquired Joker.
"I am." Ivy replied.
Scarecrow then took the chance to speak up.
"Then why are you sitting on me?" Ivy looked at the man.
"I'm more afraid of dogs…and you were convenient." Ivy blushed and looked away as Scarecrow smiled at her.
"Afraid of dogs?" He asked.
"Shut up!" she shouted but stayed on his lap.
"Well it seems that every one is here!" his twinkling blue eyes scanned the room until they landed on Scarecrow and Ivy, "I believe there are enough seats for everyone to have their own chair Ms. Isley."
The pair blushed and Ivy scooted off Jonathan and back into her own seat.
"Now that everyone is seated we can begin! Severus! Please bring in the mirror!" Dumbledore said.
"What mirror?" the professor asked confused.
"The mirror outside of course!" Severus sighed and then walked out of the room. He returned a minute later pushing a heavy, antique, golden mirror. He got it ten feet into the room then paused to take a breath.
"Why am I pushing this mirror?" he asked.
"Because we are using it for this meeting." 'And because I like to see you breathless' Dumbledore thought.
"And I couldn't just levitate it because….?" He asked as he continued to push the mirror.
"Don't be silly Severus! This mirror is far too delicate for magic." Dumbledore laughed.
"Of course it is." Severus mumbled under his breath and continued to push the mirror. He moved it to the center of the room then stopped and went back to his seat.
"Today we shall be seeing our inner most desire!" exclaimed Dumbledore. Two-Face glared at the mirror.
"And how are we going to do that?" asked a skeptical Riddler.
"This is the mirror of Eirsed. When you look into it you see not your reflection, but what the heart truly desire's. And today we are going to share with the group our hearts desire." Dumbledore explained.
"Albus, I thought you destroyed the mirror two years ago!" Minerva glared accusingly at the older, and supposedly wiser, wizard.
"Oh Merlin no, why in Merlin's right name would I do that?" he brushed her off once more, 'If I did, I wouldn't be able to see Severus.' "Now then, we shall call you up one by one and shall reveal to us what you see. Who would like to go first?"
"I'll go. I've done it before." Harry said, half of the time looking at Luna to make sure she heard him. He frowned when she saw her gazing at nothing while she was deep in thought. Harry sighed as he got up to stand before the mirror.
He looked at the smooth surface of the mirror only seeing his own reflection for a short moment but then the image changed. He thought he'd see his parents like he had before, though his desire had changed. Instead he saw Luna standing beside him, smiling. While on his other side was the Joker. The only father figure he had. He was proud of him like a father would of a son, but that wasn't the best part.
"Harry what do you see?" asked Dumbledore.
"I see, I see myself alongside Luna. She's looking fine—"
"That's my sister you're talking about!" interjected the Riddler.
"Please, do not interrupt." Dumbledore kindly ordered.
"Back to what I was saying," Harry spoke louder, "Luna, looking hot like always, is standing beside me along with my father as he's proud of me."
"Oh that's nice. James would be proud of you always." Remus Lupin assured.
"No not him, the Joker." Harry corrected, looking quite annoyed. "Now if you don't mind. I'm the one in front of the mirror and you can talk when it's your turn! Now back to my desire. Behind us is my house on Privet Drive, burning, while the people are locked with in their houses, burning alive."
The members of the staff all looked horror stricken while the others were on their feet, clapping.
"Brilliant my son, just brilliant! Hopefully one day that dream will become reality." The Joker applauded.
"Watch it Joker." growled the Riddler.
"Well we can't control human instincts now can we Riddler?" The Joker eyed him then at the man seated closely beside the Riddler. He followed the Joker's eyes that fell upon Two-Face as he face reddened.
"This has nothing to do with that!"
"No, then the kiss meant nothing?" he inquired.
"That was a set up!" the Riddler countered.
"That isn't the question my dear friend. Did you enjoy the kiss or not?"
The Riddler didn't respond as he didn't know how to respond. Two-Face was right there and so was everyone else. He couldn't confess. The Joker could see his hesitation and decided to let the man go…for a bit.
"Don't know, then why don't you see what your true desire is?" suggested the Joker.
"Fine then." The Riddler stood up and confronted the mirror. He stared long and hard into the mirror only seeing himself for the longest time, refusing to see Two-face, but eventually what he most desire was revealed. A hand had snaked up his back and rested on her shoulder. It then skillfully moved down and stopped around his waist. The hand belonged to a man, Harvey Dent. Half of his face still covered in melted flesh but it wasn't that that attracted the Riddler to Two-Face. It was his intelligence that surpassed many others. His charm, his personality, everything about him was just too hard to ignore.
"So Riddles, what do you see?" the Joker asked. Riddler glared then spoke.
"I see all the idiots around me dying like they are meant to and they is no bat clan to ruin my fun!" Batman stared at Riddler.
"I stop you because you are killing innocent people because they cannot answer your riddles."
"People should be thankful that I'm weeding out the idiotic slums that seem so common on this planet." The Riddler yelled back at the Bat.
"It's not their fault that they—" Batman was cut off.
"Batman why don't you go next?" suggested Albus.
"Fine" The Batman stood and walked towards the mirror. He looked into the mirror and instantly he saw the smiling face of Minerva. He turned around to see if she was there, but she wasn't. He was confused at first, but yet again he was in the magical world. There she was, her green emerald eyes gleaming. Behind him, he was once again in his pent house in Gotham city. Minerva sat by the fire laughing as she played with a small girl. He looked closer and there, it was Helena, his only child.
"What does Batsy want?" questioned the Joker.
"A family, my family." Batman answered not thinking. He soon looked around as the villains chided. He then looked at Minerva, the person he loved. She gave him a small smile, but it was the gleaming in her eyes that gave it away.
"Well, that's wonderful. Robin, would you like to go?" Albus gestured towards the mirror. Harry glared at Robin while he got up to go to the mirror. Just like all the others, Robin faced the mirror, waiting for his desire to appear before him. Before him in the mirror formed a girl with bushy brown hair and her nose behind a book. For once she looked up at him with her big warm brown eyes. For days he studied her in the library where she liked to dwell. Never had she looked up from her book to peer at him. She never noticed him but yet he wished she did.
After Robin had stood in front of the mirror speechless, Harry started to get irritated as he interjected, "So what do you see Bastard?"
"I see the girl of my dreams."
"Madame Pince?" Harry guessed.
"What? No! She is someone who spends a lot of time in the library though…" Robin replied dreamily.
"Whatever you say wonder boy." Harry stuck out his tongue.
"Severus my boy, why don't you go next?" Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eye.
"I will not waste my time in front of a mirror."
"But it's a magical mirror, just give it a try."
"I will not!"
"You will! Who knows your greatest desire might just come true!"
"Fine! I will look in the damn mirror!" Severus stood and looked in the glass. He saw himself scowling back, and then Dumbledore walked up from behind. The mirror Severus turned and pulled out a piece of parchment. He showed it to Dumbledore, who frowned upon reading it, then walked away. Severus shifted the parchment so it was readable from where he was standing. It was a restraining order on Albus Dumbledore.
"So what do you see?" Albus asked enthusiastically.
"I saw a restraining order on you." Severus stated.
"Well that's not very nice."
"No Judgment!"
"Your right, I'm sorry. Who wants to go next?" Dumbledore stopped the conversation.
"Oh! OH! Pick me! Pick me!" cried the Joker waving his hand.
"Go ahead Joker." said Dumbledore. The Joker sprang up and skipped to the mirror. He watched as his refection slipped his arm around Sirius's waist while his other hand rested on Harry's shoulder. All three of them were smiling and laughing. Harry then ran off to terrorize random civilians that loitered in the background. Buildings around them burned and Arkham Asylum could be seen in the distance as just a smoldering pile of ash. The Joker laughed hysterically.
"Soooo dad what did you see?" Harry asked.
"You'll see when the time comes" the Joker laughed.
"So, Ivy, would you like to go next?" Albus questioned. Ivy looked around to make sure Sirius was far away from her before she walked up in front of the mirror. She looked straight back at herself. The image started changing. Behind her was a lush exotic garden filled with her beautiful venomous plants. In the center was a large flower she had never seen before. It was still a bud ready to bloom. It was breath taking.
"What do you see?" Dumbledore had repeated the question he had asked many others before her.
"I see the most beautiful flower ready to bloom. And it's opening up right now! There's something in the center! It's…It's…" She looked excited but then her face had suddenly dropped when she saw what laid in the center. There was Scarecrow in the center of the flower without his mask. His chest was bare and muscular as he looked like a god.
"What's in the center?" Dumbledore asked.
"A…bird." Ivy answered before quickly returning to his seat.
"What kind of bird?"
"A…big, nice one"
"That's what she said!" Fred interjected.
"In bed." ended George.
"Moving on," Dumbledore tried to restore order, "Catwoman, we haven't heard from you in a while." Catwoman sigh and walked to the mirror. Blood was splattered across the mirror and she could see through the drops, Minerva on a wooden spike. Batman stood with his arms wrapped around hers laughing at the corpse.
"What do you see Selina?" asked Dumbledore. Catwoman shook her head and turned away from the glass before answering.
"I see gold and diamonds." She replied then she sat back down. For some reason, Batman didn't buy it, but he didn't interject.
"Would anyone else like to take their turn at the mirror?"
"Can my dog have a turn?" The Joker requested. Everyone turned to him with questioning looks.
"Why would your dog need a turn?" Severus asked with a sneer.
"He feels left out. And as a responsible pet owner I can't just let him wallow in depression over not getting to see his hearts true desire! What would that make me?" the Joker exclaimed.
"Well then go ahead and let your dog take a look." Dumbledore said with a kind smile. Joker dragged Sirius up to the mirror. Sirius pulled away whining but the Joker paid no heed to it. The dog reluctantly looked in the mirror. Through his canine eyes he saw himself with Harry, his godson. They were reconnecting like James would've wanted as he was a free man.
Sirius stopped whining. His tail wagged at the image while Dumbledore chuckled.
"Well I think he can see what he wishes Joker. Would anyone else like to go? What about you Scarecrow?" Dumbledore suggested.
Scarecrow got up to see himself in the mirror. The image changed. He could see a fiery red haired woman clinging onto him for dear life. Her face buried into his shoulder while her long slim legs were wrapped around his waist. Her arms were enclosed around his neck. There at his feet was a large dog encircling his feet. He couldn't see her face, but he didn't have to. It was Ivy.
"Well what do you see Scary?" Joker asked. The Scarecrow looked at him.
"I see people screaming in fear, what else?" the doctor responded.
"It seems that it is almost time for dinner. We will continue this next session." Dumbledore said. He then stood and started on his way to the doors, "I suggest you all wash up for dinner."
The villains made their way back to their dorm rooms. They filed into the room and found seats around the chamber. Ivey made her way to one of the green houses she had taken over despite Pomona's protests. She was greeted by her lovely plants that she cared for as if they were her children.
"Ivy," called out a voice. Ivy turned around to find Catwoman at the threshold of the door.
" Selina," greeted Ivy, "what brings you here?"
"I can't stop by for just a nice chat?" Catwoman walked vaguely looking at the exotic man eating plants Ivy raised.
"I've known you long enough to know you don't just come over to make idle conversation. What is it you want?"
"You're right. I want Batman, and I want you to help me."
Ivy scoffed, "You still want the flying rodent? And what makes you think I'll help you?"
"I know what you want." Catwoman had gotten closer to Ivy, circling her.
"And what's that?"
"Please don't make me laugh. It's obvious it's Scarecrow." She looked down at Ivy who seemed to deny what Selina had just said. Selina leaned her head close to Ivy, her warm breath on Ivy's ear.
"You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours." She whispered. She then leaned back to look into Ivy's teal green eyes.
"Think about it." She then left without another word, leaving Ivy speechless.
Robin nonchalantly walked in between the book cases, spying on a certain witch. Her nose was buried once more in a book. She was oblivious to her surrounds, and especially to Robin. He watched as her delicate long fingers would brush across the pages or how her eyes would sparkle when she read maybe something exciting or funny. He didn't know. She would lightly chew her bottom lip.
"There you are Hermione!" Robin tore his eyes away from the pretty witch to see Harry Potter jog over towards her. "I've been looking all over for you."
"Oh, that must be a first." The witch replied with malice in her voice.
"Oh I know. You know that potion essay due like…tomorrow." She didn't reply but instead returned to her book. "Alright well, I was wondering if you could do it for me."
With that she slammed her book shut. Her cheeks flared and her brown eyes were vexed.
"First of all, that is cheating and second of all, what makes you think I would do it?"
"You're my best friend and I'm Harry Potter so…"
"You're nothing but an arrogant monster." She shrilled, glaring at him crossly. Harry rolled his eyes but then caught sight of Robin.
"Hey Wonder Boy!" he called over. Robin tried to act natural by grabbing a book off the shelf and flipping through it. Harry had walked over to him, pulling him out into the open.
"It's the Boy Wonder." corrected Robin.
"Whatever, so spying on Madame Pince again are you?"
"No…" Robin looked around for something, "I was just catching up on my reading."
Harry gave him a doubtful look. "As if muggle, do you even understand even a fraction of what's in these books?"
"Do you?" Robin countered. Harry grabbed Robin by shirt in an aggressive manner.
"Is that a threat?"
"What do you think?"
"You better hope it isn't, but just in case," Harry let go of Robin, "Catch up on your reading if you want to face the Boy Who Lived!" Harry let go of Robin as he went to leave the library.
"Hermione, don't worry about the essay. I'm sure Joker will help me." He yelled on his way out. Hermione was fuming. Her fingers gripped the desk at which she sat. Her knuckles turned white.
"I wouldn't let him get to you." Robin broke in.
"And you are?" Hermione replied with her anger still evident in her tone.
"I'm Robin. I was pulled here with the other Gotham people." Robin explained.
"You're one of those crazies?" She asked with disgust.
"No! I'm one of the heroes that were pulled here." Robin quickly exclaimed. Hermione calmed down slightly but still looked skeptical.
"I'm sorry I'm just rather mad at the moment. I'm Hermione Granger." She held out her hand.
"Nice to meet you." Robin bowed his head politely. "You wouldn't happen to know a good book would you?"
"I know many, it depends what you're interested in." Hermione exclaimed as she brightened a bit.
"I've always been fond of birds." Hermione gave him a small smile before she moved passed him and started walking down the aisles. He followed her.
"Here," she walked down a row of books. "This is the section of magical creatures. I'm sure you'll be able to find a books of birds here you'll enjoy. My favorite has always been this one." She reached up and grabbed a thick tome. She handed the book to him and Robin took it. He looked at it and smiled.
"This will do." The two then sat down a started to read. Hermione curiously looked at him as the boy wonder read. He seemed completely absorbed in his book. She stared for a while then he looked up and met her eyes. Her head quickly dropped to her book and she pretended to have not been looking at all.
Robin smiled slightly when he caught her staring. He waited a second before looking up at her. His grin widened as her eyes fell to her book. His attention was held by her until he had to look away as to not be caught staring.
"Thanks for the book." He mumbled before walking away.
"You're welcome." She replied and walked out of the library. Robin watched her leave while he inwardly sighed at himself. 'What was I thinking?' he mentally chastised himself. He was out of his mind.
"Bring in the mirror, Severus." ordered Albus with those twinkling blue eyes. Severus let out an exasperated sigh. The potions professor stood and grudgingly went to retrieve the mirror. He returned a few minutes later, pushing the mirror at a slow pace to the center of the room. After a minute with only a little progress made, Minerva got impatient and magically levitated the mirror to the middle of the room. Severus stared at the mirror then glared at Dumbledore.
"What the bloody hell! I thought you said the mirror couldn't be moved with magic?" he yelled angrily.
"Well would you look at that? It could be moved with magic!" Dumbledore said cheerfully.
"Are you telling me you've had me drag that bloody mirror around by hand when I could have just moved it with magic?"
"Severus please watch your language, there are children around!" Dumbledore chastised.
"I don't bloody-"
"Severus!"
"-crap" Fred and George clasped their hands over their ears and gasped.
"Yeah because the little psychos in the making have never heard curse words" Two Face said. Joker giggled.
"You're just jealous that I have minions and you don't." the clown replied.
"I am not jealous!" the ex-D.A. shouted.
"Nope, cause you have riddles on the mind!" Joker cackled. Two Face opened his mouth to reply but Dumbledore interrupted.
"Right, so where did we leave off yesterday?" Dumbledore said, "Bat Girl, we haven't heard from you, why don't you go look in the mirror?" Batgirl stood reluctantly and moved towards the Mirror. She looked shocked at her reflection. Instead of her standing, her reflection was sitting in a wheelchair. Her legs looked small and unused. The mirror her looked longingly at Batman and Robin as they ought crime in the background while she sat there, useless. Bat Girl gasped in horror at the mirror and stumbled back.
"Are you Okay Bat Girl? What did you see?" Robin asked. Bat Girl just shook her head and stumbled back to her seat. The Group looked at her confused. Scarecrow held back a giggle at her reaction. "It worked!" he thought.
"Okay then?" Dumbledore asked, "Who wants to go next?"
Dumbledore was about to call one of his staff members when a loud blaring sound cut through the room.
"What the bloody hell is that?" yelled Severus Snape over the siren while he covered his ears with both hands. Many people follow his actions, everyone except Two-Face who stood up from his seat getting ready to leave.
"Come on everyone, fire drill."
"Fire drill?" questioned Pomona Sprout.
"Yes, we must all evacuate the building as if it were a real fire."
"But why? We have magic to put out a fire." Severus pointed out.
"This is merely a safety precaution. As a school filled with children, I'm surprised that Hogwarts isn't familiar with fire drills."
"We've never had to." Minerva replied and with a whisk of her hand, the blearing sound ceased, "We are a school of magic Two-Face, a fire is a very small safety hazard compared to the many things that this school has had to endure."
"Yeah, like the dead basilisk in the basement." whispered Fred to George.
"Or the Troll in the Dungeons and let's not forget the Murder at large that has broken into school." replied George.
"A murderer, in this school?" Two-Face acted appalled, "I must say Dumbledore, this school is far too careless with the lives of their students."
Joker coughed loudly, "Hypocrite."
"I must share this with the Board of Education; I don't think they'll be pleased." He had a Cheshire smile plastered over his face.
"Save your breath Two-Face, they already know." Minerva narrowed her eyes on the man, "I think this meeting is over, Albus. You are all dismissed." With that Minerva swiftly left the room followed by many others.
"B-but we haven't finished." Dumbledore whined before following Minerva out like a petulant child. Meanwhile, Joker sent a pointed look over at Two Face, an ominous smile elongated by the scars slashed across his features.
"So No Face what's with the dills? I would think you'd love to see other people being burned, maybe you could get a mini me!"
"It's none of your business, clown"
"Come now, why so hostile? I'm wounded! Can't I be concerned when a friend's not acting like themselves?"
"We're not friends." Two Face turned to walk away. But then paused when Joker spoke up again.
"Really! I don't think you're in any position to be limiting your allies"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well let's just say that I have friends in surprisingly high places and you're going to need people who can, uh, sway the public in your favor…" The Joker's grin widened as Two faced turned toward him fully, looking much more interested than before.
"I'm listening"
