Amidst the Chaos, Mikasa had little time to react to the wall collapsing. Before she could think, she was immediately pulled back by her squad leader to continue assisting with the evacuation. When she arrived at the back gate, there was something blocking the entrance. It was a large cart blocking the way. A short, heavy built man was yelling at his workers to push it through. The people begged him to let them through, but he kept insisting that his cargo should be pushed through.
As Mikasa and her squad were ready to intervene, a titan appeared several buildings back. It rushed towards its prey faster than a normal titan. The team was becoming frightened and some even froze. But , Mikasa was unfazed by the sight and swung around the titan. She latched on to its neck and closed in for the kill. With both of her swords, she slashed the titan on the back of its neck, killing it instantly.
She then proceeded to intervene on the current situation with the gate. She came across the business man yelling at his workers to push the cargo harder. Mikasa then struck one of the workers in the leg with the butt of her sword. The others backed away. "What the hell is the meaning of th- he didn't get to finish as he felt a strong blow to his face and fell to the ground. He looked up and was met with a sword near his throat.
"My comrades are fighting and dying because citizens haven't evacuated yet." "How dare you assault me!? Your employer and I go way back. One word from me and he'll be all over your- Mikasa was not having any more of this and knocked him out with a swift kick. She then ordered his workers to pull the cart out of the gate, which they did without hesitation. The citizens were finally able to evacuate. Before leaving, a little girl thanked Mikasa for intervening in the situation. Her mother did the same before pulling her away. Mikasa's commander then came over to her position. "Good job Ackerman, we need to leave now. We've been ordered to retreat, the titans are overwhelming our forces." "But what about those still on the front lines?" "There's nothing we can do for them. There's also something else. The gates have been destroyed. Some new breed of Titans apparently. We must go right now." He then ordered the rest of his troops to evacuate. Mikasa wasn't planning on leaving without Armin and Eren. She stayed behind and went to search for them.
Meanwhile, at the frontlines Armin was frozen with fear, and was completely numb after seeing his childhood friend eaten. He maneuvered to a building. He then saw a large chunk of the wall collapsing and heard strange roars coming out of the dust and rubble. Large shadows were visible from where he was. His eyes widened as he saw what came out of the dust. The creatures came out of the wall. One of them had a round shell, with spikes all over it, a long tail and an armored like head.
Another one looked like a large bug, with a spike on the top of his head. It had wings on the back and armored like drills for hands. They were unlike anything Armin had ever seen. Then a shadow formed over Armin. He looked to the sky and saw a giant, flying creature. It was a flying reptile of some sort. It looked down at Armin and he saw it had the face of a bird. It then flew off to the direction of the supply depots. Armin wanted to help, but he contemplated he couldn't even fight the titans, let alone these monsters.
He then heard the sounds of maneuver gears sounding and then soldiers landing near him. It was Connie and his squad mates. He was trying to shake Armin out of his episode. Armin became alert. Connie then asked him what happened. "Where's Eren and your squad?" Armin broke down and told him about the massacre. How he stood by while his comrades were devoured by the monsters he swore to fight. "Look it wasn't your fault. We need to go right now." Mikasa then arrived on the scene. She found Armin and went up to him. "Armin, you're okay. Wait….." She then realized Eren was nowhere in sight. "Where's Eren?" Armin only nodded his head. She then knew, Eren was gone. She had to hold back her tears and picked Armin up. Connie then said; "We need to leave now, the battle's fucked. And now we got giant monsters running around." Mikasa then asked him about it. "What giant monsters?" "No time to explain, we need to move now." They then proceeded to a rally point at the refueling stations. On their way, the team noticed the area grew darker. They looked up and saw the giant, flying creature. It flew by and the strength of the wind its wings blew destroyed several of the buildings they were on.
Mikasa, Connie, and Armin were separated from the group. Some of them were crushed and killed instantly by the debris. Others were crippled and left to be picked apart by nearby titans. The survivors had to go on without the trio. Mikasa, Connie and Armin rallied to a building to check for wounds and their inventory. Armin was running low on gas. "Guys, just go. I'll only slow you down. Just leave me with this sword and I'll end it before they get me." Mikasa then took Armin's sword.
"Don't give up. If you do this, Eren would've died for nothing. I'll carry you if I have to." "Mikasa, you can't support this much weight. You guys are better off without me, please!" Connie intervened as well. "No, do not think like that. We're sticking together. Let's go." Armin then collected himself and joined Connie and Mikasa. Before they could move to the next building, something broke through the building. Mikasa fell to the ground.
She looked up and saw it. Instead of a titan, it was a large, slender reptilian creature with a long tail, and spikes on its back. After it finished swallowing a titan, it looked in Mikasa's direction. It gave a loud roar at Mikasa. She felt weak and vulnerable at this moment. She didn't remember this feeling since the death of her parents from those human traffickers and being saved by Eren. She remembered the moment one of the traffickers had Eren pinned to the wall. He shouted to Mikasa; "Fight…..Fight or Die! Win and Live!" and at that moment Mikasa knew exactly what to do, and what kind of world they loved in: a cruel world. She killed the man and was then adopted by the Jaegers from that day.
At this moment, Mikasa wasn't going to give in. She picked up her sword and aimed it at the beast. She knew if she was going to die, she would die fighting. She screamed a battle cry and readied her sword. But before the creature reached her, she was lifted off the ground for a moment and saw the creature being punched. It was sent flying into a building by something else. She looked up and saw a titan.
Yet, it wasn't an ordinary titan. This one was larger and was more slender and muscular. It had shaggy, brown hair and a long snout. Another peculiar thing about it was it paid no attention to Mikasa. Before she could continue contemplating the situation, Connie and Armin pulled her away from the fight. they observed the two combatants from a nearby building. It let out a fierce roar. The lizard monster got up and growled at the titan. The Rogue Titan and the monster immediately charged towards one another. The monster attempted to swing its tail at the Rogue, but it countered by grabbing the tail and slammed it back and forth.
The rogue then began to punch the head of the creature repeatedly. The creature then sunk its teeth into the Rogue's arm. The Rogue Titan then began to jab its finger into the lizard's eye, prompting it to let go. It attempted to flee but the Titan wasn't letting up. It proceeded to force the monster to the ground. It grabbed the front end of the jaw with one hand and the bottom half with the other. The lizard like monster tried to fight, but it was too beaten and broken from its fight. The Rogue Titan pulled until the top half of the monster's head came clean off. Many thoughts ran through the trio's heads. Armin thought: "Where did it come from?" Connie was thinking: "What is it?" While Mikasa was thinking: "That Titan is kinda hot."
Before they could finish, a strange glow was emitting from the creature's head. The Titan then began to absorb it into its body. After a few minutes, the titan was increasing in size. After it was done, all that was left of the creature were skeletal remains. The titan then walked off to find more prey.
Armin then asked Mikasa; "Why didn't it attack you? This isn't like any aberrant described to us." "I don't know, but it was more focused on fighting and killing. Connie then interrupted them. "Look, it doesn't matter right now, we need to regroup with the others and get out of here while we still can." Mikasa and Armin agreed upon it and went off to the station with Connie.
Meanwhile, the titan was roaming around and killing other titans. Mostly squishing and ripping them apart. An earthquake soon followed. The beetle like monster emerged from the ground and proceeded to destroy everything around it until it spotted the Rogue. The Rogue also spotted the monster. They both stared intently at each other for a moment. The Rogue then gave a fierce roar. The creature then began opening it wings and flew at the Rogue. It seems humanity may have a chance to win this war. This Titancould be humanity's hope or destruction.
