As promised its Memorial Day Monday, and here it is...
It's very short, just getting back into the grove of writing the story and portraying it just how I wanted it to be a year ago.
Want to make sure all Y'all are still interesting...
Enjoy and please, please, please review. Your reviews will shape how you want to read the story.

ALLISON'S POV
(6 Hours Earlier)
She wiped the beads of sweat of her face for the hundredth time as she waited for the signal to turn red. The humidity of the rain to come was not playing nice with her or her hair. She had known the Chuck-E-Cheese wasn't a block away but this was ridiculous. She had been walking for more than an hour now. House after house had passed, but the damn place never showed up.
Sighing, Allison looked down at her phone. No calls, no texts.
Having fun in the forest I see….Lucky bastards…
She absently rubbed at her leg, fumbling with the strands of her hair that had frizzed out of her bun. When she looked up to find the light red, without much of another choice in the matter, she grudgingly continued down the road.
"Hallelujah!" Allison cried out at the sight of the children's chain restaurant of fun and entertainment across the block. She had gone on for all of two hours, and in her last will to quit, the little rat's head came into view.
For two hours of excoriating walking, Allison wasn't all that impressed. The place to her looked pretty shabby, moldy, and downright unsanitary.
No wonder monsters originate from around here.
Covering her nose, Allison walked up to a side window.
"YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!"
Allison stepped back and instinctively took her pistol out of her waistband. She pointed it to the head of a homeless man sitting a few feet away from her on the ground. He held a sign with fading black letters that read "APOCALYPSE COMING".
It might have been effective except the word apocalypse was spelled apockalips.
She must have been delusional and tired because something about the sign made her lose it. She hollered in bouts of laughter, until breathing hurt. With flushed cheeks and labored breathe she put the pistol back into her waistband, and sighed.
"Hmfph, maybe one day dude."
The man continued to stare at her, his eyes a piercing green, standing out against the black filth and soot. His clothes were equally muddy and tattered, and the old mattress he sat on looked…well old, and bug-infested. But she had no intention of finding out.
Why in the world would they let a guy like that sit outside a Chuck-E-Cheese!
She gave him one last glare before going around to the entrance door.
Upon entering, Allison was hit with the extreme stench of pizza and burnt candles. The noise would have been enough to rattle her brain, and the stench would have been vile if for Allison it hadn't been all too familiar. The memories of places just like this…
"The coins are prizes in themselves babe. Why waste them, when I could use them to remind you of this moment right now years down the line?" I stare in bemusement as he takes the seven leftover tokens, and places them in his jean pocket.
He winks and plants a chaste kiss on my lips, lingering for only a moment. But the moment is long enough for me to get the scent of his invictus fragrance, his cherry lip balm, and peppermint gum. I look into his eyes, which look right back at me with a deep blue intensity that makes my insides squirm. He comes into for another kiss, but instead I turn, and nibble on his ear while whispering "but we're supposed to be playing the games."
He looks at me dumbfounded, and then takes me into his lap and smirks. "I thought we were." His words are so simple, yet his voice makes me blush. He laughs at my teenager antics. Softly, I place his hand on my barely swollen belly."One day it'll be all three of us. Right here, in this same spot, using ALL of daddies tokens, right?"
He doesn't say anything; just stares at me, his eyes wide with shock. He lets his hand linger there, until tears fill up in his eyes at my words. He puts another hand on top of mine. His blue eyes earnestly look up to me again, "One day?"
I can't help but smile and laugh, "One day."
Taking my head in his hands, he lets out a shrill laugh that puts me into another fit of giggles. He kisses my forehead as a father would a child, and I feel loved.
I feel safe.
I feel euphoria.
She shook the thought, the smell, the noise, and the memories out of her mind, and made her way to the stand to find the manager.
To be continued...
