"Why would you do that?" Allison asked
"Do what?" Scott asked confused.
"Kiss me, what else could I be possibly talking about?" Allison questioned.
"Oh, the kiss. It's how i wanted to show you I cared for you just as much as you care for me." Scott informed her.
"Well, then I think you might care a little more than I do." Allison said sharply. Scott just stared at her for a moment before walking away.
"Even if that is what you truly believe, which I doubt it is. than maybe you should tell that to your heart." Scott said with a smirk on his face as he continued walking.
"My heart, what do you mean. I think I know what I feel." Allison said annoyed trying to keep the pace of Scott.
"I'm sure you do. However I meant the more physical aspect of your heart.I only hear a person's heart beat as fast as yours just did when they are excited or afraid. So you are either happy I kissed you or afraid of what the kiss might mean. I'm betting on the latter." Scott said with no intent on slowing his stride as he began to quicken his pace.
"You know you are very cocky" Allison said quickly, she was finding it harder than she thought to keep up with Scott. "Why are we going so fast?" she finally asked.
"I am only trying to make sure we do not get caught, as you said your father was close we need to loose him before he figures out how close he actually was. What makes you say I am cocky." Scott asked.
"Well isn't it obvious. I mean first you kiss me without even seeing if I wanted to and then you proceed to tell me how much I actually want you, no matter how much I protest to the matter. If that's not cocky than I don't know what is." Allison said flatly.
"Then I hate to tell you Allison, but I guess you do not know what cocky is. When one is cocky they are so full of themselves they will jump to outrageous conclusions to make themselves look better with no evidence to support the matter." Scott informed her.
"Isn't that exactly what I just said?" Allison questioned annoyed that they were now running in the middle of this conversation. Scott stopped abruptly causing Allison to stumble back and have Scott catch her right before hitting the ground. The way they were angle it looked as if he was about to kiss her again.
"No Allison, you just stated your opinion, while I was only going of instinct. You wanted to kiss me just like you do now. I am not telling you that you want me your heart is. But if you are not willing to listen to it I will not force it. Next time you want to kiss me you will have to do it yourself." Scott said while simultaneously lifting Allison to her now shaky feet. She looked at him. His face went hard again. She hurt him she could tell. She didn't mean too, she just was not as ready to start something up with a stranger as he was. No matter how sweet he was, or muscular. Or if the fact that his mere voice made her knees shake. Just then Scott smiled. Allison panicked.
"Could he read her mind, was that another Alpha trait" She brushed passed him taking the lead, if he could read minds Allison wasn't going to let him know he got to her.
"We can slow down now, I don't hear them anymore. I think we lost them." Scott informed her.
"Good" Allison said before dropping in front of a tree. "Is that the sun, have we actually been out here all night." Allison asked.
"It seems that way." Scott said flatly, while dropping down next to her.
"No wonder they are out looking for me." Allison thought aloud.
"Let's say they do happen to find us, what are you planning to do." Scott asked.
"Do you mean will I go with them?" Allison asked.
"Yes, will you go with them?" Scott asked confirming his question.
"Well what other options do I have?" Allison said. Scott looked her dead on.
"We both know you have another option." Scott said flatly.
"Of course, I could run off with some strange wolf I just met in hopes that he won't kill when I accidentally make him mad." Allison snapped.
"I keep telling you, Alphas aren't like other wolves. We can control it better." Scott said defensively. Scott stood up instinctively and grabbed Allison before she even realized what was happening. He lifted her in his arms crouched down and jumped. He jumped higher than anyone Allison had ever seen. She closed her eyes, so she couldn't see the tree whizzing pass she finally opened them she realized she was laying on top of a tree. She sat up.
"What's going on why would you bring me up here?" Allison asked very confused. Scott simply put one finger over her lips and another on his own.
"Listen" he said while pointing down. At first Allison was confused. Did he forget she was human there was no way she could see all the way down there let alone hear anything but she looked down anyway. When she turned to look down she realized they weren't as high up as she originally thought, and when she looked hard enough she could see to small figures coming from a pathway nearby. She lean in closer to get a better look, making sure to avoid any gaps in the trees. When her view was finally how she wanted the small figures didn't seem so unknown was Dylan and another recruit.
"We have to find and kill that thing before it hurts anyone else." Dylan said coldly
"We don't even know if it is a werewolve yet." The recruit stated.
"You saw those tracks back there, those weren't any dog tracks." Dylan snapped.
"Even if it is a werewolf our orders aren't to are suppose to capture it and bring it back to Mr. Argent." The recruit stated.
"And that's exactly why we are going to say it was dead when we found the thing." Dylan said with a conniving smile.
"But we will never find Allison if we kill the thing." The recruit reminded him.
"We've been searching all night, if we haven't found her yet than we are never going to find her. The sooner everyone figures that out the sooner we can kill the beast." Dylan said flatly. Allison tried to move in closer, so she could hear better. Somehow she didn't see the gap and fell straight through. She reached her hands out hoping to grab on to a tree branch or vine anything to keep her from hitting the ground. But every time she got a hand on something it slipped right out of her hands. She closed her eyes and reached up one more this time what ever she reached she had a good grip on. On it had a good grip on her. She opened her eyes to see Scott holding her hand. He lifted her closer to him so that he was holding her whole body to his, while simultaneously trying to hold on to a tree branch at the same time. But they were too heavy and the branch was too weak causing the branch to break. Allison could feel herself begin to panic. Her heart raced and her breath quickened. She looked up at Scott who was completely calm.
"Don't worry. You're always safe with me. Just close your eyes and it will be over in a minute." He said with a smile. He lifted her up complete so she was now cradled in his arms he straighten his legs. Allison felt a hard thud. When she opened her eyes Scott was still smiling down on her. He put her down so she could stand on her own. "I told you, you're safe with me." Scott said. Allison looked at her surroundings. She was on solid ground. She was safe but how. She looked at Scott he was bleeding. She reached out to touch the spot on his waist where blood was coming through his shirt.
"You are hurt." Allison said with concern.
"It will heal don't worry. Are you okay?" He asked as he cradled her face in his hand.
"I'm alive. I don't know how, but I assume it is because of you." She said.
"Well I couldn't let you get hurt could I?" Scott asked rhetorically. Allison looked up at him. He had the most sincere look on his face. She couldn't help but want to kiss him. So that's exactly what she did. She stood on her toes and slowly kissed him. He kissed her back gently at first, then passionately.
"Oh I'm sorry are we interrupting, how rude of us." Dylan said emerging from the woods with his shotgun aimed at Scott.
