Chapter 4: I visit the oracle of Clarion Academy
"Wait" Percy called from behind me, I stopped and let him catch up to me
"What?"
"We're supposed to do arts and crafts"
"What? You actually do camp stuff- I mean regular camp stuff?" I asked
"Not exactly" he smirked "come on" I followed him to a building that looked like a train carrying bricks had crashed into an authentic Greek Triad. Smokestacks and scrap metal were scoured along the walls.
"Woah" was all I could muster. I realized to late, that kids in there were looking at me. One ran up and grabbed my staff. He looked like a Latino elf, his ears pricked at the end and he had a face that reminded me of, well, an elf.
"Hey!" I yelled, he seemed to be examining the staff
"Hmm, an emotion reading mechanism, and a form changing conduit" he handed it back to me "that and it's made of Stygian iron, where'd you get that?"
"From my stepdad, who are you?"
"The names Valdez, Leo Valdez" he grinned "nice to meet'cha" I heard a conch horn in the background and Percy said it was time for dinner.
As we got to the dining pavilion, I realized that we were separated into tables for who are godly parent is. I sat down at a dark mahogany table next to Nico.
"Heroes, champions! May I have your attention." Chiron called from upfront. "I have a few announcements to make, first" he went on to say no capture the flag and that we should all be aware of creatures in the woods. After he was finished Argus, the 100 eyed chief of security, came over and offered me a plate with a sticky note on it.
'Would you mind taking this up to the cave of the oracle'
"Um, sure" I took the plate and headed in the direction he had pointed. I cut through the brush and into the woods before I saw anything. I kept going, making sure to not hurt any trees (Nico told me about dryads) when suddenly I see a light. I move towards it as I reach a cave. I entered the cave and saw a young woman with frizzy red hair and a pink uniform with black skirt.
"Uh, Hello?"
"Oh" she turned around "hello, is that for me?" She pointed at the plate.
"Yes," I handed it to her "may I ask a name from you?"
"No need for the formal talk, but my name is Rachel"
"Hi I'm Chase." When I said my name she closed her eyes and I could sense something was about to happen. I reached out for a stool and got her to sit in it, as if I'd been trained to do it. Suddenly she opened her eyes and they were a misty green. She spoke.
"Children of death," it sounded like 3 Rachel's were talking.
"And sun god,
Must each face a fatal flaw.
Through decease and light,
The world they hold,
Or may it succumb to the days of old.
Chaos at it's prime,
Vanquish her a second time.
Her namesake shall rain down,
And a new leader will be crowned." After that line her eyes turned to their normal color. She looked at me.
"Did I just-?" I nodded "what did I say?" I repeated it, word for word. "Interesting," I heard a voice say behind me, I turned around to find Chiron and Koji.
"What're you guys doing here?" I asked
"Koji told me what happened with the T-Rex and asked where you were." Koji blushed.
