The R.L.S Legacy. The grand ship that was to discover the legendary Treasure Planet. The loot of a thousand worlds.
In a flash of light, Mika, Selwyn, Huey, Dewey and Louie were sitting in a lifeboat.
Mika looked at their surroundings. "A ship?"
"Which world are we in now?" Huey asked as they all hopped out of the lifeboat and entered the lower deck.
"I'm not liking where we are..." Selwyn stated.
Suddenly a large, thick-set man wearing a white apron that appeared around a corner. He was strangely half-man, half-cyborg. He had a cyborg arm, leg, ear, and eye, and he scanned their group with his machine eye with questionable intent.
"Well, what 'ave we here?" he asked.
Mika and the duck brothers were startled to say the least. However Selwyn instinctively reacted and he drew his bow and aimed it at the large stranger.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Calm down there sonny boy!" He held his arms in defense.
Mika lowered the bow down. "Relax... we're not going to hurt you... right Selwyn?"
"Yeah. I guess not." Selwyn replied as he dismissed his bow.
"A bunch of jumpy fellers, aren't ya now?" He introduced himself. "Who are ya folks?"
"Oh, I'm Mika, and this is Selwyn. And down here are Huey, Dewey and Louie."
"Hiya!" the three ducklings chimed.
"Well well well... looks like that Cap'n saw it fit to hire me some more cabin hands." The large man stated. "The name's Mr. Silver, why don't you all come along with me, and I'll show the grace of me humble galley."
He let out his cyborg hand. Mika cautiously grabbed it and came out of the life boat.
"Nice to meet ya, lass. Welcome to the R.L.S Legacy." Silver smiled.
Mika stared at the big sails before going down the stairs to the gallery.
"I've never seen a ship like this," she whispered to Selwyn.
"To be honest... neither have I," he whispered back.
Before they were led into the Galley by Mr. Silver, they caught a glimpse of another man they came across who was busy and also very large, with skin of what looked like stone. He looked very official in his red jacket and tricorn hat.
"Cast off! Smartly now!" He ordered.
"The Cap'n and Mr. Arrow must be launching now. Get going you lot." Silver stated. "You three, my little feathered friends... will help out Morphy here with cleaning the kitchen."
"Who's Morphy?" Dewey inquired.
Weirdly enough, Dewey's hat changed into a pink blob of space goo that grew eyes and a mouth and it began floating on it's own. This must have been Morph.
The blue-clothed duck held his hands out for the little blob. "Is this him?"
"Of course. Now get going we've got work to do!" Silver ordered as the little ducks chased after Morph who led them to the Kitchen. "You two, you find Jim and Aya and help them out."
Selwyn and Mika nodded, though they didn't know what Jim and Aya looked like, and went back up the stairs. Mika thought she saw a rusty redheaded girl run past her.
"Could that have been Aya?" she questioned. She then remembered the Jim and Aya were human names.
"Selwyn, I think Jim and Aya are humans like us," she whispered to him.
"That's a relief." He sighed. "This entire world is real... diferent with all of the aliens."
"But aren't we technically the aliens?" Mika smirked.
They tried to get through the aliens going to their stations. Then CRASH! They bumped into someone.
"Ow! Hey, watch where you're going!"
Selwyn looked to see who said that and saw a boy about his age. He had brown hair in a rattail, and had blue eyes.
"I will if you will, you slammed into me!" Selwyn snarled. They both glared.
"Jimbo!" Silver had come out of nowhere inbetween the two boys. "This here is your new pal that'll be helping ya out."
'So this is Jim,' Selwyn thought.
"I don't need any help." Jim pouted.
Silver grimaced. "I wasn't asking Jimbo... now why don't you introduce your new friend to Mr. Mop and Mrs. Bucket?"
Jim obliged by slugging Selwyn with another bucket of soapy water and a dirty mop into his hands. But then suddenly they were interrupted and Jim ran off.
"Loose all solar sails!" Mr. Arrow shouted. Jim had went further on the deck and looked amused at the sails. All the light the sails catch from the sun, as it got loose. As Jim looked around he saw Aya in the railings, waiting exciting to be getting off the ground and start sailing.
As Mika got closer to Aya, she started to lift off the ground. "Ahh!" she was startled as she began to float away.
"Mr. Snoff, engage artificial gravity!" Captian Amelia ordered the blowhole creature.
Said creature responded with a foreign "Aye Aye Captain!" and a salute as he pulled a lever and covered the ship in temporary purple sparks, activating the artificial gravity and everyone landing back on deck.
"South by southwest, Mr. Turnbuckle 2-1-0-0."
"Aye, Captain, 2-1-0-0" The ship turned sideways to the right.
"Full speed, Mr. Arrow, if you please."
"Take her away!"
"Brace yourself, Doctor."
The ship blasted off with a powerful force, knocking Delbert past Amelia, who stood there like a rock, and into the wall.
Aya was climbing on the shrouds, holding on tight, with her back towards the rope and stretch out by her arms to feel the sun and air flying through the hair, as the ship flew fast out into the space.
Jim had held onto some rope as well, and then noticed Aya, who was smiling, and her long red-brown hair flying back. He couldn't help but smile a little. She really had a pretty smile. Suddenly the girl looked down, and saw the boy was smiling at her. He looked away and started climbing on the shrouds as well, just a little higher up then herself.
Aya blushed a bit when she saw that Jim was blushing too. Maybe... there was more into that boy then she thought? Maybe he actually would be a nice guy to talk with? Maybe he was a bad boy... or acting like it anyway. But the way he acted while he was outside... it was like he wanted the same as her.
Freedom.
Mika was leaning on the side of the ship. The scenery was breath-taking. There was this gorgeous nebula that she admired from afar. The gases and space dust that comprised of it gave off the hue and color of sunset red, and it reminded her of Twilight Town a little bit... and then Mika realized she was homesick.
After the commotion of the first minutes of flight, Selwyn noticed Mika staring sadly out into space so he stood by her side. "You ok?"
Mika turned her head to see him. "Ahh... well..."
"Yeah..." He nodded. "It's a lot to take in."
"I feel the same as the last time I was in Twilight town with all the Heartless around," she started. "But then something stopped me from crying."
"What's that?"
"Someone gave me half a Paopu fruit."
"Oh?" Selwyn avoided her gaze. "Probably someone trying to lift your spirits."
Mika smiled but she hid it well from him. "Probably."
"That guy Jim told me we're going to another planet, so we can leave when we get there." Selwyn decided. "This world is way too big for the Organization of Heartless to conquer."
"Oh?" Selwyn avoided her gaze. "Probably someone trying to lift your spirits..."
Mika smiled but she hid it well from him. "Probably..."
"That guy Jim told me we're going to another planet, so we can leave when we get there." Selwyn decided. "This world is way too big for the Organization of Heartless to conquer."
Aya didn't spend too much time pondering Jim's facade, for in the next moment her line of vision was obstructed by a substantial force gliding alongside the ship.
"Whoa... is that...?" Jim began and Aya laughed.
"Space whales!" The Orcus Galacticus, or space whale, as Aya had mentioned, was gargantuan. It was far larger than their ship, yet, thankfully, a peaceful creature unless otherwise disrupted. It was currently traveling in a close-knit pod beside the RLS Legacy and as Jim leaned off the ship to get a better look the whale moved away to reveal many more using their wing-like fins to propel them forward.
Jim glanced up at Aya and couldn't help but admire the way she smiled, her hair whipping around her face in the breeze.
It was only when she caught his eye did he turn away, his face hot.
The three duckling came from below deck followed by Morph to see the Space Whales off to the side of the deck. Mika's eyes were huge. "That's a whale!" She beamed.
"It is indeed. Whales in space... wonderful."
Huey reached out to touch the whale, but instead the space whale responded by blowing weird slim all over the three ducklings.
"Oh, gross!" Mika laughed.
"Better them than us." Selwyn sighed.
"Stay on course!" The Captain called out to her crew to which everyone responded aye aye. Suddenly Silver appeared on the deck talking to the captain, as formal as he could, trying his best to show of his "charm".
"Ah tis a fine day for sailing, Captain!" He greeted. Amelia looked down and frowned when she saw the cook. "An' look at yeh! Yer as trim an' as bonny as a sloop with new sails an' a fresh coat o' paint." Silver was wearing his big black coat and his 3 corner hat, and bowed deeply for the captain as he praised her.
"You can keep that kind of flimflammer for your spaceport floozies, Silver!" Amelia answered with a cold stare.
Morph turned into Amelia and started to mimicking after what the captain had just said.
Silver's face went upside down, acting like he was really hurt inside, and then catch Morph with his hat. "You've cut me to the quick, Captain," Silver said. "I speaks nothin' but me heart at all times – eh heh," he laughed, trying to keep his hat on, as Morph tried to get out.
"And um, by the way, aren't those your cabin kids aimlessly fooling about in those shrouds?"
Silver scanned the ship for his cabin kids and he identified all of then, through his vision and his robotic eye, locking onto the them and his expression became that of frustration.
"Hey! I ain't paying you kids to be loafing 'round and gawking at whales!" Silver shouted.
"I don't think we were getting payed at all..." Selwyn whispered to Mika.
"Well we've never seen whales like these," Mika tried to reason.
"What kind of whales do you see lass?" Silver barked. "All of ye' get back to work!"
Enough of the sightseeing according to the Cyborg Chef, Aya and Jim heeded his words and they carefully climbed down from the shrouds and back on deck.
"Ah, Jimbo, Aya! Just in time." Both teens turned around and looked at Silver. "I got two new friends I'd like ya both to meet." Jim looked around, not really knowing what, the old Cyborg was talking about.
Aya looked a bit nervous "Oh, no, Silver. You don't mean..."
Aya filled up some buckets of water and gave it to Jim, Mika and Selwyn then went off to get another mop. When she came back, she didn't look at them or talk. She just dipped her mop in the bucket and set to work swabbing the deck. Jim was angry himself.
"Um, listen," Mika said as she mopped.
"What is it?" Aya replied.
"We never introduced ourselves. My name's Mika," the girl brought her hand out for a shake.
Aya took the girl's hand contently. "I'm Aya."
"Jim." He said.
"And this is Selwyn." Mika introduced to them.
Selwyn crossed his arms. "Nice to meet you."
"Likewise, I guess." Jim mirrored Selwyn's motion.
Mika looked at them from left to right. The two boys seemed so similar.
Jim did his best to whisper to his fellow cabin mates, "Guys... beware the cyborg."
Mika raised her eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because I think he was the guy who burned down the Inn that my mom worked at." Jim responded.
"You sure it wasn't a different cyborg that did it?"
"I just got a bad feeling about him... the timing seems to convenient." He replied.
This huge gangling green muscly four-armed alien shoved his way past Jim. The monster alien bellowed back at the boy in a deep voice, "Watch it, twerp!"
The kids then noticed as they were moping three alien crew-mates whispering among themselves and when they noticed them, they stopped talking and stared at them.
The tubby alien on the right of them who had tentacles on his neck folded his arms and addressed the teens. "What're you lookin' at wierdo?"
Then the head of the alien crawled off of his body and settled on a barrel while the torso of the body crew another face, as a separate being which echoed its head. "Yeah, wierdo."
And almost as if it was right on cue, another crab-like spider alien climbed down from the crow's nest and hissed at the kids from above. "Cabin boyssss should learn to mind their own businesssss..."
"Why, you got something at hide, Bright eyes?" Jim spat. Aya glared at him, outside she looked calm but angry, but inside she wanted to scream; You stupid IDIOT!
The spider thing grab Jim's shirt, and left him up. "Maybe your earsss, don't work sso well."
"Yea… to bad my nose works just fine," said Jim and wrinkled his nose in disgust.
"Why you little-" and just out of the blue, he knocked Jim into the mast. The boy tried with all his might to get loose from the grip but with no use. Aya then took the bucket, stood beside Scroop and Jim and threw all the water over on the big spider.
"Hey leave him alone!" Aya shouted.
The spider stared at her, daring her to come closer. Suddenly, great whoops of laughter broke out from the sailors. "I said leave him alone, let go of him!" she yelled as she punched him in the face. He winced and glared at her.
"Ssso, the little cabin girl thinksss sshe can fight me, well letss sssee about that," Scroop said as he hit Aya in the stomach. She moaned in pain.
"Stop this right now!" yelled Mika. She may have done this unintentionally, but she summoned her Keyblade and pointed it at Scroop.
"Get that piece of junk out of my face!" Scroop warned her.
"It's not a piece of junk you moron!" Mika was greatly offended.
"I couldn't care lessss, cabin girl." He hissed. "What are you going to do about it anyway?!"
Before anything else or before Mika and Selwyn could respond kindly with Scroop's challenge, Silver appeared and clamped onto Scroop's free claw with his robotic arm while he was eating a fruit.
"Mr. Scroop, you ever see what happens to a fresh purp when yeh squeeze..." he yanked Mr. Scroop's claw hard, nearly dislocating it. "...real HARD?"
Scroop screeched and dropped Jim, his right claw going instantly to his injured one. Silver let go as Jim dropped to the ground. The crowd was now more excited with how the fight would turn out to be.
"What's all this then?!" The stony Mr. Arrow inquired as he approached the crowd. Selwyn motioned for Mika to dismiss her Keyblade inconspicuously so that the Mr. Arrow could only draw his attention to Scroop.
The Rock Man glared at the crewmembers. "You know the rules. There will be no brawling on this ship!" The crew began to stand in a line. "Any further offenders will be confined to the brig for the remainder of the voyage." Mr. Arrow glared down at Scroop. "I'm I clear, Mr. Scroop?"
The spider's head, turned red of anger, but when he looked at Silver's eye, he sighed. "Transparently." It seemed to please Arrow enough and than let everyone go back to their posttest.
Aya had her arm still wrapped around her, tried to ignore the pain she felt. Jim stood and leaned against the mast where he had been pulled up and looked down, thinking of what just had happened. He felt embarrassed.
"Are you both okay?!" Mika exclaimed in concern as she tended to Aya.
"So much for not causing a scene..." Selwyn rolled his eyes as he leered at Jim.
"Well done, Mr. Arrow, sir. A tight ship's a happy ship...sir." Silver then approached Jim specifically. "Jimbo, l gave you a job. I gave you all jobs!"
"Hey I was doing it until that bug thing and those girls-"
"Now just a second here!" Mika cried.
"Those girls!?" Aya shouted. "If it wasn't for THOSE GIRLS, you would had been dead before Silver even had the chance to come."
"Oh yeah like-" Jim was cut off by the Cook.
"Belay that! If it wasn't for those lasses, ya would had got killed soon enough! And you missy you should had run for me instead of getting yourself hurt!"
"Hey I just tried to help!"
Silver ignored Aya's complains and turned to Jim."Now listen carefully Jimbo, I want this deck swabbed spotless! And heaven helps ya, if I come back, and it's not done! Morph." He called to his pet. "Aya you come with me."
"Fine." She reluctantly agreed. As Aya and Silver walked away, Mika and Selwyn turned towards Jim.
"Hey you okay?" Mika kindly asked.
"I'm fine. Don't do me any favors..." Jim pouted.
"She was just trying to help you out." Selwyn surprisingly spoke up. Then Mika heard something.
"OH GOODNESS! What are these creatures?! Help! Someone!"
"That was Dr. Doppler!" Jim realized as he ran towards the scream.
"Heartless?" Mika questioned.
"Oh yeah..." Selwyn confirmed when they saw the dark creatures appear all over the ship.
"We have to get to the others!" Mika declared as she and Selwyn summoned their weapons.
Huey, Dewey, and Louie came up from the galley to see what was going on. "Heartless?!" They exclaimed as they pulled out their weapons. "Time to spring into action!"
"Take up arms men! And fend off these monsters!" Captain Amelia ordered.
"You heard her, fight!" Mr. Arrow stated as he and she joined in the brawl.
Mika became face to face with a Heartless. "Take this!" She cried as she destroyed the Heartless in one swing.
Selwyn followed Mika's attack by switching from his bow and arrow to his sword form and he quickly spun the blade in horizontal rotation creating a windy tornado beam!
The twister weaved and swerved as it picked up any unlucky Heartless within its reach and his attack dispelled most of the dark creatures on the main deck.
"Nice one!" Mika commended.
"It was my pleasure." Selwyn smirked as the two of them dashed to finish off the foe.
On an upper deck, Dr. Doppler and Jim were struggling to fend off some of the Heartless!
"Back away you fiends!" The Doctor yelled as Jim did his best to shoot the dark creatures.
Jim had fired a bullet at one of the Shadows but merely wounded it. Suddenly, Captain Amelia came swooping in on one of the ropes above them and picked up Doppler to safety. This actually caused Jim to be distracted long enough for a Heartless to lunge right at him! Fortunately, it was instantly sliced in two by a steel sword wielded by Aya. "Jim! Come on, pay attention!"
Silver showed up, swinging his cyborg arm sword at the black creatures. "Jimbo! Havin' fun yet?" he laughed as he defeated another Heartless on his own.
In a combination effort among the crew and their teamwork the last of the Heartless were exterminated from the ship in due time. And when all of the combat was over, a hearty cheer of victory was heard all among the crew members!
"Enough lollygagging!" Captain Amelia ordered. "Everyone back to your posts!"
"You heard her," Mr. Arrow echoed. "Back to your posts!"
"Wait! Wait a second!" Mika exclaimed but was silenced by Selwyn.
He whispered to her. "We don't need them to panic about the Heartless if we can help it. If they just thought they were some sort of pest or alien, let's keep quiet about everything..."
Mika sighs. "Right."
Only several minutes had passed when the ducklings, Mika, and Selwyn regrouped and Jim and Aya were just off to their side, back to work.
Just when they thought the ship was set for a peaceful sail, Mr. Arrow came out of the Captain's Quarters and discreetly informed his feline superior. "Captain, the map is missing..."
"Oh great..." Amelia rolled her eyes. "Bring me Mr. Hawkins and the Doctor strait away."
"Aye aye." The stony man saluted.
Back on the main deck of the ship most of the crew went about their business until Mr. Arrow had called away Jim, and Silver had called away Aya. Leaving Mika and her company by themselves in the middle of the ship.
"Uh oh..." Selwyn eyes widened.
Before any of them could realize it the fice of them were surrounded by barriers, separating them from the rest of the peolep on the ship. Then a man teleported from darkness in a black coat and he bravely wore his hood down. He had platinum-blond hair which was very short and worn in a Caesar cut, and he has electric-blue eyes. He also had a beard or mustache, his being a goatee and the same blond color as his hair.
"Another one from the Organization?!" Mika exclaimed as the ducklings wielded their weapons nervously against him.
"Number X... Luxord..." Selwyn introduced.
"Kind of you to bequeath to me a proper introduction as a fellow member of our Organization, or shall I say former?" Luxord smirked as he pulled the small golden sphere from his coat pocket.
From outside the barrier they heard someone say, most likely Jim, "Hey! Give that back!"
Luxord casually tossed the map into the air and caught as he snapped his fingers and a giant Heartless appeared behind him. "The Darkness of men's hearts, drawn to this cursed map and its forbidden treasure, and this Heartless, a veritable maelstrom of avarice: I wonder, are they worthy to serve Organization XIII?"
"We're not here to play your games!" Selwyn shouted.
"Don't squander your words..." He grimaced as he was about to disappear into darkness. "Let us let the cards decide your fates..."
And Luxord left the ship with the map, leaving the giant Grim Reaper Heartless swinging its pendulum to fight Mika, Selwyn, Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
"Not again!" Mika held her Keyblade, ready to fight.
The Grim Reaper creepily floated above the wooden floor of the main deck as it casted some blue firaga magic right at the heroes!
"We got this!" Huey exclaimed as he and his brothers barely blocked or batted away the fire.
This left an opening to attack, so Selwyn and Mika lunged at the Grim Reaper, Key and Sword in hand. But only after a few slashes, the Heartless spun its pendulum around and swatted away both of them!
Mika got up and groaned. "Got some strength on this Heartless."
"Just stay on your feet and follow my lead!" Selwyn encouraged.
The Grim Reaper then glowed a deep blue and it began to charge up a powerful fire attack! Selwyn and Mika both stood their ground and charged up their own energy attacks as well. The Heartless mercilessly fired a dead-blue firaga beam of magic at the two warriors while in response, Mika and Selwyn instinctively fired their own beams of light, and the two collided!
The beams blasted against one another until their light energy overpowered the blue fire and blew away the Grim Reaper's attack! Mika was getting really tired, and she wondered if their last offensive really got that Heartless, but as it turned out through the resulting smoke, the Grim Reaper lunged at them and swung its giant pendulum at them!
They both dodged and rolled on their backs. The two of them quickly recovered themselves and got back on their feet, determined to achieve victory.
Suddenly, Mika felt a surge of power within her! She began to emit a golden aura and she instinctively got into a slightly different battle stance, and in a flash she was already charging back at the Heartless!
"What?!" Selwyn was astonished.
Mika was criss-crossing and slashing at high speeds in all different directions! She was just too fast for the Grim Reaper to keep up!
Over... SLASH... and over... CUT... and over... PIERCE... Mika made mincemeat of that horrific Heartless.
"Since when did she learn Sonic Blade?" Selwyn smirked as he charged up his sword as well. "Mika, get out of the way!"
The girl complied as she dove out of the way and Selwyn fired another powerful Aero-tornado spell to finish off and blow it away into nothingness...
The dark creature gave another terrible screech while dropping its pendulum, signaling its death and the battle over! The barriers faded and the crew was left in awe at what had transpired...
The large heart released by the giant Heartless was floating away from the ship, and eventually Mika, the duck brothers, and Selwyn were in surprised to see Luxord in the Crow's Nest capturing that very same heart...
Number X applauded. "Lass... Maxcheil... Bravo." And then he disappeared into darkness while tossed away the Treasure Map which bounced down and rolled to Jim conveniently.
"What was that all about?" Jim inquired as he approached the winners of the fight.
"Nothing you shouldn't be worried about." Selwyn assured.
The cyborg and the redheaded girl looked at each other and left. Silver climbed down the wooden steps to the Galley as Aya followed in close persuit. The sound of the room was a dull chatter with several aliens from various systems, as he held the doorframe to help himself in.
"So... We're all here then." He said looking around. Just then a small slug-like alien with several eyes rushed in front of him.
"Excuse-me!" it said as it sat down at one of the benches that adorned the side of the room.
"Fine." Silver said advancing further as Mr. Scroop glared at him from the back corner, his golden eyes being nearly the only part of him visible.
Aya stayed close to the door looking in as Silver approached the center of the room.
The group of aliens game closer together as Silver's gyro's became the only sound in the room.
"Now," Silver said as his mechanical arm straightened the legs of an octopedal alien as it rested atop his body-like counterpart, "If you pardon my plain speakin', gentlemen," Silver continued with a wry smile as he turned his back to the majority of the group, "Are ya all..." Silvers arm turned to a machette with one quick motion which he began to swing wildly, "STARK RAVING, TOTALLY BLINKIN' DAFT!" He shouted in anger as his machette just missed the multi-eyed alien who managed to duck just in time, putting his eyes out and quivering from his hiding spot.
Aya stepped back a little still feeling a twinge of pain from Scroop's boney claw as Silver backed the largest of the aliens to the far wall.
"After all me finaglin' gettin' us hired as an upstanding crew," Silver said quickly passing in front of the other's and putting his face just inches from Scroop's, "You want to blow the whole mutiny before it's time!?" Silver said, "And why did you think it was it was a good idea to hurt one of our own!?" Silver asked inclining toward's Aya.
Scroop looked at Aya then back to Silver. "The boy was sniffing about. She was trying to help him," he said in a diminished voice.
Silver looked disgusted at the response, "You just stick to the plan you bug-brained twit." He said finishing off with emphasis. Silver then relaxed his face and his tone, "As for the boy, all he needs..." He said turning slightly towards Aya, "is a distraction," He said with a nod and Aya returned the gesture then she walked up the stairs and out of sight, Silver turned slightly skyward, "And I'll run him so ragged he won't have time to think."
A new world. I do not own Treasure Planet. Only my OC, Aya.
