Hellooo again, Readers! Sorry for not updating sooner, but I was too tied up with college. But now, it's like "Let the winter holidays begin!" And thus, here we have another chapter.
And now {drum beats *dun dun dun*} it's time for theeee DISCLAIMER! (sfx: fangirls squealing in the background)
Eeez: Saro-chan does not own something as awesome as DGM. P.s. He is not sure whether my name is Eez or Eeez. Help is welcome.
On to the story…
Eeez welcomed the warmth of Allen's hand enveloping his own as they made their way to Hev…Helv… he couldn't get the name right's room. All the time, it looked to Eeez as if Allen wanted to tell him something but the older boy just smiled when Eeez raised his eyebrows inquisitively. Allen on his part was in a quandary about whether to prepare Eeez for his meeting with Hevlaska or not. His own experience had been quite frightening for him and he wished for the boy to be better prepared. But explaining Hevlaska was not child's play and Allen wasn't sure he could get his message across. Thus time passed in indecision for Allen until the trio came to a stop in front of the platform going down to Hevlaska's abode. "Oh, what the hell!" thought Allen. Some things were better understood unexplained and Hevlaska was invariably one of those.
As they descended into the depths, Eeez almost huddled closer to Allen, but, in a fit of boyish pride kept his distance from the inviting warmth. And although he wouldn't admit it to Allen, not that he himself knew about it anyway, in the depths of his heart, he still felt guilty about Tyki. As is the manner of children, he had largely forgotten that traumatic episode, but some memory of it would always linger in his subconscious, threatening to leap out and engulf him at a fair provocation.
As they finally came to a halt, Eeez looked around, his eyes searching for whoever they had come to meet. He turned around, scanning all four directions with curious eyes and once even looked up to see if they had missed something. As he turned to Allen, his confusion written clearly in his large eyes, he noticed a sudden… sensation behind him. Before he could turn around, he was grabbed by what appeared to be white tentacles, glowing eerily. He let out a gasp of primitive fear as he found himself hoisted up to come face to face with a … alien lady?
Hmmm…." Murmured Hevlaska, as she stared into the boy's defiant eyes, "Interesting…"
Tyki silently tread across the rocky path leading to the cottage, his feet making no noise on the hard ground. As he moved closer, his eyes darted all over the place, as if the Noah was watching out for something. Indeed he was. The Earl never interfered in the private lives of the Noah, but he had made his displeasure at Tyki's incompetence known. Not that the Earl had spoken a word aloud, but Tyki knew. And so did the other Noah. How the Earl knew of Tyki's fatal moment of weakness with Eeez, the man never knew. It couldn't have been Road. She had her own secret to hide. Not that it was much of a secret, but nobody knew the candy loving Noah was serious in her feelings about a certain exorcist. It might've been the Akuma, but Tyki wasn't sure. Anyway, the Earl had subtly hinted that Tyki spend more time with the family now. Even though the ever present grin had been there, there had been a certain coldness in his eyes, an edge in his voice that admonished Tyki to know his place.
But even then, Tyki couldn't ignore his feelings. The chain smoker felt that this was where his heart belonged as he made his way to the door. Sometimes he suspected if he was more human than Noah. But his Dark side made him doubt it. Just as he was about to open the door, he heard a voice float out from the hut. It had a drunken quality to it, but there was no mistaking the pain and anger in it. "Damn that bastard!" he could hear Clark roaring, "To think that he turned on Eeez!". "Clark…" cut in Momo quietly, "Calm down. Those Black order people told us all sorts of things, and I'm having trouble coming to terms with all that."
Tyki couldn't believe what he was hearing. He backed away from the door in disbelief, stumbling and falling on his rear. "Who's there?" Clark bellowed from inside. Before Tyki could sink to the ground, the door opened and the lamplight streamed into the night illuminating the Noah who seemed to be hugging, no, going into the ground. Momo staggered back in horror and then Clark's silhouette appeared. Even in the dark, as he phased through the ground, Tyki could see the hatred emanating from the man's face as he stared at the abomination which had been his friend.
Some distance away, far from sight of the hut, Tyki the Noah emerged at the side of a little pool. He stared in silence at the silvery moonlight reflecting off the calm surface and coating his face in a silvery sheen. He stepped forward and lobbed a rock into it, disturbing the tranquility of the place. Then, even as his mouth stretched into an inhuman grin, his eyes bulging, the tears fell fast, staining the ground.
The Noah went to his knees, his arms hanging by his sides, his face a grotesque mask of sorrow and madness, the tears in bizarre contrast with his grin. Time passed and he did not rise. As the sky to the east showed the first faint signs of the Sun's awakening, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Warm. Caring. He turned to face the newcomer and came face to face with the Millenium Earl. Not with in his usual grinning form, but as Adam, the human form, with compassionate eyes that seemed to bore into his being. Then, Tyki did one of the things he would never admit to doing in his life. He buried his face in the other man's shoulder and wept and wept and wept as the gentle hand patted him soothingly on his back.
Tyki felt a rush of wind and then, when he looked up, they were at the dining room on the ark, Road by their side, the rest of the family waiting at their seats. Their faces were masks of indifference, but Tyki could sense the unspoken question that hung in the air, weighing it down. And in that moment, his mind was made. He straightened up, his features once again composed, the carefree expression once again on his face as he faced HIS family. "Well?" he asked grinning "What are you waiting for? I'm home.", gripping Road's hand as she smiled and dragged him to his seat.
A/N: Well, I know this is short. But I aint feeling so well. Was feeling wonderful when I started this thing but it all went downhill near Christmas. If anybody has some ideas to share about Eeez's innocence, I'm more than willing to hear, because, frankly, I don't have a clue about what to do with him.
Well, until next time, see you! And please, Read and Review ^_^
