A/N: So I'm not updating as fast as I originally thought, but this story is far from forgotten. I'm not sure how long I want it to be, I haven't decided. It's not going to have an abrupt ending, and I want some adventure but also some more whump, I'm not sure lol. I know you're probably thinking, what is this girl doing, she doesn't even have the story in here head?! But I do, I'm just iffy about some things lol.

Also, I don't know what I would do without my beta (practically co-writer lol) TheShulesLovinPsycho. You are the reason people are actually staying to read this.

"Watch your step Shawn, here let me help you." said Gus, reaching out to steady his best friend. Shawn batted his hands away.

"Gus! Stop! I'm fine! Just don't let me run into any walls and we'll be okay."

They managed to get to the car and inside of it. Gus started the engine and started to pull out of the hospital parking lot.

"Where are you taking me?"

"To your dad's."

"What?! Gus, you can't do that to me. It's bad enough I can't see, now you want me to go deaf too? His yelling is like a sonic bomb!"

"Shawn, I can't just drop you off at your house! You can't see for crying out loud!" yelled Gus.

"That's never stopped me before!"

"What are you talking about? It's settled alright Shawn? It's only for a few days until you get your sight back!"

Shawn pouted and sat back in his seat, regretting having to meet up with his father.

"Oh crap," Shawn said.

"What?"

"Has anyone told Jules?"

Ding dong. Dingdongdingdongdingdong.

"What the hell?" Henry muttered to himself, getting up and going to the door.

He expected Shawn at his door, but what he didn't expect was his son pouting with his arms crossed, seemingly glaring at the ground- with his hair askew and bandages all over his face and eyes. His best friend seemed to hover a little closer to him than normal.

"Hello Mr. Spencer. Shawn is going to have to stay with you for a few days," said Gus.

"What? Why? What the hell happened to your face?"

"I kind of got into an accident..." Shawn admitted.

"WHAT? What did you do now? I swear, if I have to pay any more insurance bills or any of that crap-"

"It's not like that."

"Well then what is it like?" asked Henry.

No response.

"Well...?" said Henry, crossing his arms and leaning against the door frame. Shawn and Gus glared at each other for a few seconds, Shawn looking a few feet to the right of his best friend's face, until Gus finally caved.

"Shawn's blind." Gus said.

Henry stopped. They had to be joking, this had to be some kind of stupid prank. His son couldn't be blind. There was no way. He knew Shawn relied on his seeing abilities to do… Well, pretty much everything. Up to and including his job.

"Wait... No... That's not funny."

"It's no joke Papa Bear. We were chasing a suspect at the fire station and he... Well, he sort of dumped a bucket of chemicals into my face..." Shawn looked down, obviously embarrassed.

"Shawn? Why didn't you call me right away! Here, come inside guys, sit down, tell me what happened."

They did as they were told and were soon settled, Gus and Shawn on the couch and Henry in a chair.

"We pretty much did." said Gus. "We went to the hospital after that. The Doctor ran a few tests and bandaged his eyes and said he was hopeful that Shawn's sight would be restored. He said to come back in a few days. I brought him here against his will because you and I both know he can't be on his own."

"HEY! Just because I'm blind, doesn't mean that I can't hear you! OHH GUS! If I can't get a cane can I at least get one of those guide dogs!"

"NO!" Gus and Henry shouted in unison.

Everyone's attention was drawn over to the door where someone was knocking rapidly.

"I'll get it." Henry said.

He opened the door and barely got out of the way before Juliet came running through it.

"OH MY GOD, SHAWN! Are you alright? Can you see? What did the doctor say? Why the hell didn't you call me?"

"Whoa whoa whoa sweetheart, one question at a time. I'm fine, considering. And no, I can not but the doctor said that this is probably temporary." explained Shawn.

"You had me so worried! Carlton told me you had been attacked, and the hospital said you had been released. I figured this was the best place to find you."

"It's okay, it's okay. I was just about to call you, I didn't mean for you to be worried. I'm going to stay here with my dad while you and Gus are at work because apparently everyone thinks I'm too incompetent to stay by myself!"

"It's not that Shawn. Like I said before, you can't see! This isn't like a shoulder wound that needs to be rested and nursed back to health. You aren't used to it. I'm sure your dad has some techniques to help you out, you know, use your other senses instead of just your sight, even if this is just temporary!" ranted Gus.

"Aw, c'mon son! This is so my childhood all over again!"

"Oh, that's nice, Shawn. Tell me, what part of your childhood did you hate the most? The part where I wiped your butt for four years straight? Or the part where I put a roof over your head?"

"Dad..."

"Okay, guys, stop it. This is going to be hard on all of us the next few days as it is. Shawn, I really do think it would be best for you to stay here. End of discussion. I'll be around whenever I'm off my shift. I'm just glad you're okay." said Jules.

"I'm fine. Now go, be the snazzy little crime fighter that you are. I'll be here, wallowing in my own boredom."

They kissed and both she and Gus were out of the door in the next few minutes.

"Alright Dad, before we start any training or whatever, I'm going up to my room and taking a nap."

Henry watched as his son clumsily made his way up to his room, keeping a few feet behind him, just in case. He flinched as Shawn stumbled on the last step. It tore at his heart to see his only son bumping into walls with bandages taped over his eyes.

Damn kid can never catch a break, can he?
