Chapter Four – Monsters are no Tale.

Both Blake and Weiss stared at Ruby in a shocked silence. Barely able to comprehend what Ruby had just told them.

Yang became a wendigo

Blake, being so enamoured for books, knew of this myth. A spirit who possesses someone who gives into cannibalism.

But that can't be real. Blake told herself doubt manifesting before her.

"Ruby, are you sure that is what you saw?" Weiss asked. In response Ruby jumped up hugging herself as she walked towards the fire.

"I told you, you wouldn't believe me" Ruby whispered staring into the orange flames. Weiss sighed shaking her head slightly at Ruby.

"We're sorry Ruby it's just, hard to understand something like this without proof-"

"What more proof do you need?!" Ruby exploded turning to them tears running a river down her cheeks as she showed them both the hand with the missing finger.

"Think about it how can you still love camping to this day if you lost your sister to, to a monster?" Weiss protested even as Blake whispered harshly to shut up her ears pressed down as she turned to look at Ruby.

Ruby's face said nothing, masked with a look of stone as she turned back to face the fire, the light casting a soft, warm glow on to her skin.

"Come on, lets just heat some food up and get to bed alright?" Blake said as she stood up. Ruby said nothing as she walked out of the lounge.

"What was that Weiss?" Blake questioned seriously making firm eye contact with the heiress. The girl slapped herself in the face with a groan, flopping onto her back.

"I had to ask! I mean I don't understand why she would love camping so much if her sister become some-some monster" Weiss protested removing her hand from her face.

"It was insensitive to ask that Weiss"

"Says you Miss Stoic Emo Girl!"

"You did not go there!"

"Stop pestering me! I get it I messed up!" Weiss retorted at last her hand still covering her face.

"But why would she still go out into the wilderness seeing all that?" she murmured.

"I don't know maybe it reminds her of a happier time but for now why don't you get food ready" Blake pointed out. Weiss sat up and turned her head to the long corridor.

"I must speak with her" she muttered before dashing out ignoring Blake's look of warning.

Blake groaned with a roll of her eyes.

Great.

Walking towards the lavish kitchen Blake barely had time to look in the fridge for the things they had brought before hearing Weiss scream.

"Ruby's gone!"
