Tunnel Mad

A/N: Hey guys long time no see! Well I hope your happy! I've updated! *ducks from the many tomatoes!* Sorry it took SOOOO long!

Derek's POV

We'd been walking through the tunnels for what seemed like hours. We'd taken our first left as the lady had suggested and followed the subtle hint of Chloe's scent. Since she was my mate it was much easier to follow then any of the other girls. We were tired, exhausted and none of us knew what time it was. Simon and Tori were able to charm a few rocks to light the way on our journey, we all held one as we walked through the tight tunnels. I was in the lead with Tori behind me a hand gripping the back of her shirt. Behind her was Simon, Tyler and then Liam held up the back.

I hated how that the closer we seemed to get the farther we were from ever knowing.

"Did you hear that?" Simon asked and I froze perking my ears up and listening. I didn't hear anything, nothing. Not even my own heartbeat, or any of theirs.

"Tori?" I asked looking behind me for her but I didn't see anyone, "guys! Simon! Tori!" I called sprinting ahead using the stone to light my way. I ran as fast as I could, looking for someone anyone I had to find my siblings. Make sure they were safe.

"Derek!" I froze. I could smell her, the strawberry vanilla of her skin from her body wash, taste her strawberry lipstick and hear her sugar sweet voice.

"Chloe!" I called rounding the next corner, "Chloe where are you!" Her scent was masked, I smelt copper and blood so much blood. My inner wolf whimpered and I ran faster trying to keep myself in check. Find her, then worry I turned the next corner running into someone and I fell to the ground.

"Ouch!" I looked up into Tori's eyes and she squealed in joy wrapping her arms around me. I tried to feel happy but I was only concerned about Chloe, I could sense her close.

"Tori!" Tyler yelled, "Tori! Where are you!"

"Over here! I found Derek!" She called as Tyler and Liam rounded the corner.

"Where's Simon?" I asked looking around and she shrugged.

"The two of you just ran off we tried to call after you but you were delirious." Tyler replied then we noticed Liam doing the same thing and managed to stop him. It's like the lady said this place really gets to your head.

"So Simon is still missing?" I asked and they nodded, "he's disappeared Derek." I stood up and sniffed, I could hear them and smell them again. I could smell Simon and I pushed past them to lead the way.

"Derek! Derek I found Liz!" Simon called and we all ran towards his voice. When we rounded the corner we found Liz and Simon slumped against the wall.

"Is she alright?" I asked moving down beside my brother glancing around for the others.

"Her heartbeat is faint." I nodded and grabbed a water bottle that we had.

"Probably dehydrated, who knows how long they've been down here."

"Around four days." A voice called and Rae approached us, "at least we think it's been four days."

"Rae!" Liam called moving to stand beside her. He cradled her to his body holding her tight. Like we wish we could Chloe. Chloe. Our Chloe. Ours. I looked around for her smelling the air for her.

"She's fine Derek," I looked down to see Liz grinning at me, "resting. We ran into a slight problem and well…now were lost. It's so dark we can't tell where we've been."

"Or where were going." Chloe finished for her a foot moving just into our light.

"What about Rae's fire?" Liam asked kissing her temple as he spoke.

"Tried that, but fire burns oxygen and their not much of that down here."

"Good point, well the way out isn't far."

"We know that smart ass." Chloe hissed and I got up moving towards her. She seemed skinner, her skin was pale in the soft light and her eyes were shut. Closed off and away from me, the very thought made me sick.

"Chloe?"

"No it's the bloody grim reaper! Of course it's me! Idiot!" Chloe muttered using the wall as a support as she stood up. "Now get us out of here Mr. Nose." Rolling my eyes I moved to assist her ignoring her angry glare. Turning down the tunnel I followed my nose to clear air.

"Derek, we should rest. We've been walking all day and probably all night!" Tori complained rubbing her shoulders.

"Keep walking!" Chloe snapped from within my arms, "we could die of insanity down here!"

"Says the girl being carried." Liam muttered getting a slap from Rae in return.

"What took you so long to get my message?" Chloe whispered just loud enough for me to hear.

"What message, the last thing you told me was that you hated me." We never heard her last words. I remembered the way her blonde hair swirled behind her, as she turned away from me, I- what? What was it she was going to say?

"I never said I hated you Derek, not once, not ever." She replied.

"Then what? What do I mean to you? I'm not a toy you can toss around." I growled and she sighed.

"I know, but I don't want to…" She sighed again burying her head into my chest.

"To what?"

"To hurt you." I scoffed she'd hurt me. More then once, this girl had the audacity to tell me she didn't want to hurt me when she'd broken my nose! "I mean, ugh! This is so difficult to tell you but I…I don't like seeing you hurt, seeing you in pain and I refuse to be the cause of it."

"You are. The moment you left me you were." I replied, "you just have no idea how much pain you have caused me."

"Derek, please don't say anything more." She replied and I nodded. We walked on in silence the others telling everyone what they went through in the past few months.

"Chloe got really sick at one point." I tuned in on what Liz was telling Simon as we walked, "so sick that we thought she wouldn't recover. We were found by Annalie and her mother Crisha who taught us about the drug. The one that Chloe's father takes, Annalie can see the future and the past so she looked into it for us. Apparently Steve has been drugging her daughter even before she was born, preparing her for greatness. The only problem being we don't know what that greatness could be, Annalie's visions are subjected."

"Derek?" I looked down at Chloe who grinned at me, "you've stopped." I looked around and realized I had. This was where the road ended, and when I looked up I knew why.

We'd arrived to our destiny. We were just, beneath it.
