"Damon!" Stefan suddenly screams through the giant house as Damon stares up at his ceiling blankly. He has been ignoring his brother as he lies here stilly. Why did she leave? Why did she feel the need to just get up and run away? It felt like a punch to the gut to be that vulnerable around someone and than just feel completely abandoned the next. Damon feels like a fool, a fool that should not have let her in like that. Now she knows something that most people don't. Damon Salvatore is the stoic, egregiously evil brother that does not give a damn and there he was shedding tears because he had mommy and daddy issues. Could he be more pathetic?

"Damon!" Stefan calls once more as Damon's eyes roll back irritably. In order to end his misery and his brother's Damon pulls a shirt over his body and trudges down the stairs.

"What the hell do you want? Your screaming is imbedded in my head now." Damon runs his hands over his temples dramatically as he walks over to his brother who is standing with his arms crossed.

"You're awake."

"Yes I am, now." Damon glares at his brother as he makes himself coffee.

"You want to tell me why Luke told me you were spotted with Elena at a bar last night?"

"God Stefan, could you be anymore transparent? We get it, you like her." Damon rolls his eyes as he brings the coffee mug to his lips before Stefan speeds over towards him and smacks the mug out of his hand, causing it to shatter into several pieces along the hard wood floor.

"What the hell was that for?"

"Damon I told you to stay away from her."

"I didn't seek her out, okay? I went to the bar and she just happened to already be there." Damon explains to his dramatically angry brother.

"Well, I realized that Elena shouldn't be caught up in our lifestyle. That girl is something else, trust me, I know." Stefan nods as he turns to grab a glass from the cabinet.

"What do you mean you know?" Damon questions, intrigue coating his deep voice.

"Elena and I met about two months ago. I saw her at the cafe, she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen." Stefan thinks of the lovely girl as he pours animal blood into the glass. "She caught my eye so I introduced myself. Instantly we connected and we became friends. As time went on though, she started closing off on me and the night I kissed her she suddenly drew back."

Damon's eyes hardened and his hands balled into tight fists when he heard his brother speak those words. "the night I kissed her." So there was something between the two of them afterall.

"She no longer wanted anything to do with me. Elena is a good person, and I realize that now. I invited her to the party because I wanted to see her, than I asked her out again but she turned me down. I have come to my senses though and Elena is much to good for either of us and I think it's best we both stay away from her." Stefan reveals to Damon.

"You kissed her?"

Stefan lets out a dry laugh at his brother's question as he turns to face Damon. "That's what you get after everything I just told you? You're concerned that I kissed her? Yes Damon I kissed her, and she kissed me back." Stefan tells his brother truthfully, but Damon can sense that he is purposely rubbing the information into Damon's face. She kissed his brother and yet she ran away when he even got close to kissing her. Figures, like he said second best.

"Well, I don't think the brunette cares for me that way either so I am not a threat brother." Damon reveals.

"Good then let's focus on other things, I'm going to go solve our little witch problem and you can, well you can just be you I guess." Stefan shrugs as he walks past Damon and into the living room. Damon nods but the pit in his stomach does not disappear as he thinks of his brother and Elena together. He didn't want to feel jealously, but he did. It controlled his mind, his whole body. He was jealous, immensely jealous. Stefan exits the door before Damon lies onto the couch once more, moping like the pathetic love struck man he is. Causing Damon to snap out of his thoughts, a loud knocking sound vibrated through the mansion. Damon used his hyper senses as he listened to the being standing outside his front door. A smile drew to his face as he opened the door only to reveal his favorite witch.

"Well, hello gorgeous." Damon opens the door as he leans against it confidently.

"Move." Bonnie storms in as she pushes him away and storms into his living room.

"Hello to you too." Damon rolls his eyes at his friends rudeness as he trudges into the living room.

"Damon we need to talk." Bonnie tells him seriously.

"What's wrong?" Damon annalyzes her body up and down as worry takes control of his voice. Her frigid stance gives him the inkling that something is definitely wrong. "Bonnie."

"There were seven more bodies completely drained of blood, and four of them were witches, Bennett witches." Bonnie informs him.

"What?" Damon gasps.

"You know that I would protect you, with my life, but Damon this is getting out of control. The rest of my coven are planning on going against the vampires, against you. We have worked so hard to keep everyone in check and I would hate to see this city turn into a chaotic mess once again. But they are, they had a meeting this morning. They sent me to tell you that if you don't figure this out, you will have a much larger problem on your hands than an out of control vampire." Bonnie speaks in a malicious tone.

Damon eyes narrow at the dark complexed woman staining timidly in front of him. "I thought I took care of this. At the ball, there were two vampires that I thought were the problem and I killed them." Damon swallows guiltily before shaking his head. "I'll figure this out. Tell them not to start anything until I say otherwise. There is no need for blood shed." Damon points his finger in her direction before walking out the door. He pulls his cell phone up to his ear frantically as he walks towards his black Audi sitting in the driveway.

"Hello?"

"Stefan that little witch problem you were referring to, just got a whole lot bigger."

Elena is finishing up at the diner as night approaches and she scrubs the last of the dirty tables. Her brunette hair falls into her face when suddenly the door dings. "We're closed." Elena speaks up as she glides the rag across the wooden table. The footsteps only get closer though as she turns with her hand on her hip stubbornly. "I said we're closed." She speaks sassily before her breath suddenly falters as the man approaches her slowly and dangerously. Elena scoots back fearfully until she runs into the table behind her. The look on to the man's face sends a vibration of uneasiness through her as she steps away timidly. The man's eyes than transform into something inhuman-like and white fangs emerge from his mouth. Elena gasps as he speeds over towards her, but he doesn't reach her as her adrenaline kicks in and she sprints out of the restaurant and out onto the vacant street. She glances behind her as she runs as quick as possible before she is a dark alleyway and there is no sight of the inhuman-like creature that had pounced at her. Elena glances in every direction, searching for the man that tried to attack her. She tries to concentrate, but the only sound she can hear is the sound of her own heart beating in her chest. Her feet still beneath her as chills cover her body and she runs a hand through her hair breathlessly. She is about to walk away when suddenly the creature appears behind her once more and his fangs horrify her as he grips her neck tightly. Elena squirms in his embrace but she is not strong enough when the demon suddenly plunges his fangs into her neck. A shrieking scream escapes her lips and she feels her body grow weaker as the man drinks her dry.

A faint scream echoes through the air as Damon walks along the sidewalk of New Orleans. He notices the cafe door wide open and becomes curious as he follows the ruckus. He takes a treacherous step towards the sound until he finds himself in an alleyway. A girl is being fed on as a vampire drinks from her. "Stop!" Damon screams harshly, causing the vampire to pull his fangs out of her neck for a minuscule moment. Damon gasps when he notices who that man is, the man who is holding the poor woman's neck. "Enzo?" Damon questions as he steps closer to his friend, when suddenly he realizes who that woman is as well, Elena. Enzo's face does not falter though as his bloodlust controls him and he plunges his fangs back into her.

"Enzo, stop!" Damon speeds over to him and pushes him off of the girl. Both of the vampires fangs are bulging out as they confront each other viciously. Elena is standing there with her hand over her wounded neck as she glances between the two monsters.

"Damon?" Elena breathes out faintly, horrified at both of the monsters standing in front of her.

Enzo doesn't stop though as he uses all of his strength to grab Damon's shirt and chuck his off guard body all the way across the dark alley. Damon's back hits the hard, brick wall as he gasps at the abruptness. Elena is standing there limply as Enzo shoves her and her head collides with the wall harshly. The sudden hit causes her to fall down slowly as her eyes flutter shut.

"Enzo! Stop! Not her, okay?! Not her!" Damon screams through the air, but it does nothing to stop his hungry friend, and Damon realizes there is only one thing to do. Damon weakly speeds up, brushing off his wounds as he takes a stake and pierces it through his friends leg. Enzo gasps before falling to his knees in front of Elena.

"Damon." Enzo whispers out as his fangs falter and he transforms back into his weak self.

"I'm sorry Enzo. You know what happens when you break our rules, and you did break the rules." Damon whispers sadly as he stares down at his friend who is lying there limply. Damon yanks the stick out of his friends leg before reeling it back and plunging it into his friends heart. Enzo screams as Damon pierces his heart and lets his friend fall to his death. Enzo clutches his chest as the familiar grey color covers his body and his veins turn dark black. Enzos eyes still and Damon can't help but shed a single tear as he watches his friend die in his hands. But he had to, he couldn't let Enzo hurt anyone anymore, he couldn't let him hurt her. Enzo lies there stilly with the wooden stake lodged in his lifeless chest when Damon suddenly glances back and rushes over to Elena who's eyes are still closed. Blood trickles down her neck as Damon kneels down and holds her delicate face in his hands.

"Hey, Elena. Wake up." He shakes her lightly, but it then dawns on him that she has lost to much blood, and the head injury she suffered was too great. Damon rips off the skin on his wrist before holding it up to her mouth. "Drink it, come on Elena." He seethes as she lies there as if she is completely dead. Her lips only brush against his arm as he shakes her harder with his hands. "Damn it Elena, drink!"

Her eyes suddenly flutter open as she squirms against his arm. And as the blood begins to cure her, her eyes widen in fear.

"It's okay, I won't hurt you." Damon tells her as she struggles against him. Her pained and afraid visage kills him as he watches her horrified expression. The blood from his arm still enters her mouth though even if she refuses it. The wound on her neck slowly begins to heal as Damon pulls his wrist away and watches her. "It's okay." He pats her hair as he tries to help her stand. As they rise to their feet, Elena suddenly falls against him as she loses her balance slightly.

"Damon?" Elena whispers out before her head falls back and her eyes snap shut. Damon catches her body as she passes out in his arms. He glances back at Enzo who is still lying there completely lifeless. He swallows thickly at the sight before scooping Elena up in his arms. She lies there limply with her head reeled back as he carries her out of the alleyway. Damon speeds over to his car as he lies her in the back seat and speeds towards his house.

Once he reached the driveway he pulled Elena's limp body out of the car before carrying her into the mansion. Damon kicks the front door open as he glances around the empty home. "Stefan!" He screams out but no voice responds back. Damon strolls over towards the couch with the girl still in his arms as he lies her down gently. Her hair falls in her face as he brushes it back with two fingers and feels at her smooth, beautiful skin. When she wakes up she is going to have a whole lot of questions. She saw what Enzo was, what he was and he had never seen someone so afraid. The fear in her eyes as Enzo drained the life out of her was horrifying. The thought of her dying is horrifying. Damon realizes that he can just compel her. He can make her forget everything that happened tonight and everything she saw. But deep down he doesn't want to compel her. He wants to tell her everything that ever happened to him throughout his long life. Knowing his secret could either intrigue her or scare the living shit out of her. He guessed that she would choose the second option. He is a monster and that is all she will see him to be.

##

After about three hours Damon is checking up on Elena every now and than as she lies there on the couch. Her eyes are shut, but he can still hear her heart beating in her chest thankfully. As Damon paces around the room, he suddenly sees her eyes trickle open slightly. He rushes to her bedside as he checks over her body worriedly. "Hey, you okay?" Damon soothes her gently as he runs a hand over her arm. She mutters uncodable words as she begins to fully awaken. It takes her a few moments to wake up, but when she does she pushes Damon off of her like expected.

"Where am I? What did you do to me?!" Elena screams at him as her face turns bright red with rage.

"Calm down and I'll explain everything." Damon tells her as he raises his hands as if he is surrendering.

"Calm down?! You-you-your face." She stutters out under her breath as she thinks of the events that had occurred earlier.

"I know."

"And that man he-he bit me." She holds her shaking hand to her neck before she feels all around her neck for the wound that is no longer there. "The bite? Where'd it go? What is going on?" She questions, confusion covering every word.

"Elena just calm down and I will explain it to you." Damon takes a step towards her which only heightens her fear as she scoots away from him.

"No! Don't come near me!" She screams defensively with her hands up.

"Elena." He breathes out as he shakes his head. He wish that she knew that he would never hurt her, ever.

"What-What are you?" She cries as fearful tears rush to the surface of her brown eyes. Damon notices the way her body shakes with fear and strength all at once.

"Elena I-"

"What are you?!" She screams at him for answers as that stubbornness awakes in her.

"Okay, you really want to know?"

"Y-Yes." She stutters nervously.

"I'm a vampire." Damon breathes out as he watches her reaction seriously. Elena's face falters as her eyes widen and she shakes her head back and fourth rapidly.

"No, that's impossible."

"You know it's not." Damon tells her because deep down she knows the truth. She saw it when Enzo fed from her, when he saved her.

"You can't be. I danced with you, and I talked to you like you were my friend and this whole time your a-" her words fall as she shakes away her tears and rises from the couch.

"Elena I really don't think you should be standing. You lost a lot of blood, and-"

"No! Stop talking!" She screams at Damon as she lifts a lamp from one of the tables and holds it out in front of her. "Get away from me."

"Elena don't." Damon shakes his head with his hands still raised.

"I said get away!" Elena shrieks as she chucks the lamp across the room in Damon's direction. Damon is too quick though as he dodges the flying lamp and it collides with the wall, smashing into a million pieces. Damn, girls got an arm.

"Elena I promise that I will not hurt you."

"Hurt me? That man, he attacked me and he bit me, but the bite, what happened to the bite?" She questions as she holds her hand to her neck once again.

"You were so weak when I found you so I gave you some of my blood. Vampire blood cures wounds, so it healed it." Damon explains.

"You gave me your blood? Am I? Am I a vampire than?" Elena cries as a fearful tear escapes her eye and rolls down her cheek.

"No, it is a lot longer of a process than that. Elena just listen to me, I will explain everything but you can't tell anyone."

"Can't tell anyone?!" She shrieks as she runs a hand through her hair frantically. "Are you kidding me?"

"No! Elena this is serious. Humans are not meant to know this, you were never supposed to know this." Damon tells Elena as she shakes her head at him.

"So what? You were just going to play along with me acting like you were my friend when actually you were just planning to eat me?"

"Elena I would never hurt you." Damon shakes his head as he takes a step towards her.

"I said stay back!"

"Okay, Okay." Damon whispers out as he takes a step back from the horrified woman.

"I need to go."

"Elena." Damon shakes his head at her wanting as he blocks her path with his larger body.

"Let me go!"

"Are you going to tell anyone?"

"Of course I am! You are a monster! You should be in jail!" She slaps him across the face harshly as she takes a brave step towards him. Damon's head turns as he takes the rough slap and he can't help but chuckle as she seethes in front of him.

"I saved your ass, you would be dead if it weren't for me." Damon informs her as he turns to meet her angered eyes once more.

"What? Do you want me to thank you?" She shakes her head in disbelief as his lips curl into a sexy smirk. "You think this is a joke? I almost died!" Elena raises her hand in order to slap him again.

"You don't think I know that?" Damon snaps as he grips her hand tightly in his, stopping her from slapping him anymore. "I know that Elena. I gave you my blood because I didn't want you to die, I don't want you to die. Listen to me." He takes her hand and pulls her into him as her heart rate increases and she squirms in his embrace. "I would never hurt you!" Damon makes it so that she can hear him, so that she believes him as he yells at her.

"You're lying." Elena cries but she doesn't fight against him as tears trickle down her face.

"Elena please." Damon pleads for her to trust him but she doesn't as she pushes him away from her and sweeps the tears away with her sleeve. She blinks once, twice and Damon watches her as her eyes fall again and she loses her balance once more.

"I-I-I-" Elena breathes out faintly before her knees weaken and she drops to the ground. Damon speeds up to her as he catches the woman in his arms for the second time tonight. He brushes his hand against her cheek as he contemplates what he has to do. If he is ever going to get her to listen than she can't have a choice but to stay here and listen. Damon speeds down to the basement with the girl in his arms before locking her in one of the families many cells. If she wants to know everything, he will tell her everything. And then it will be her choice whether or not she exposes vampirism to the world.
