It had been 4 years since our heroes' departure. They had grown, both physically, and mentally. They had seen many things, some normal, some very strange. They had met many different people.
Some of these notable people taught them a thing or two. Some on the other hand, did not. The most memorable person they met on Earth H was a vampire by the name of Alucard. He had the uncanny ability to find the humor in everything, and was an insanely sarcastic bastard.
He also had incredible regeneration abilities. Naruto seriously hoped that wasn't going to become a trend, it was kind of bullshit.
They had actually spent the better part of 2 years on Earth R. They ended up going to a high school for nonhuman creatures called Yokai Academy.
Several girls at the academy had ended up having a romantic interest in Naruto. However, being the lovable dense idiot he was, he didn't notice. Sasuke had repeatedly told him to look deeper into it, but he just couldn't see what was happening.
This takes us to where our heroes are now, on a planet called earth d. "I seriously hope this is the place" Sasuke muttered. "It should be, but if it isn't, well it's just another adventure" Naruto said with a grin.
"You're way too cheery today, what's up?" Sasuke asked. "It's just, I've been waiting for four years to see Kakarrot, and now I finally have that chance, probably" Naruto said with a sigh.
Sasuke put a comforting hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Hey, come on, it'll be fine" he said, "We've come this far, how much longer could it be?"
They utilized an energy sensing technique that they learned on a planet called Namek, and searched for the highest power level on the planet. They took off in flight, going straight for it.
'Moment of truth I guess' Naruto thought, 'I'm coming to find you, Kakarrot.' They eventually came to find Naruto's least favorite place in all of the galaxies, a hospital. "You know what? Maybe I can wait to meet him, I've waited four years, I can wait till he's out" Naruto said with a nervous chuckle.
"Come on, where's that powerful warrior attitude now, it's not like you're going to be treated here, let's just go" Sasuke sighed. "No" Naruto argued with a childish pout.
Sasuke actually started to literally drag him towards the building. "No! No! You can't make me!" Naruto yelled out in protest. "Come on you big baby" Sasuke said, lifting them both into the air.
They found out, to their luck, that the power level they sensed was in a room right next to a window. Sasuke opened it, one handed, as Naruto was still struggling to get away. "In you go!" Sasuke said, literally tossing the Demisaiyan into the room.
The only thing Naruto could think about at this point is how awkward it was going to be if Kakarrot wasn't in this room. Really awkward, given the looks on the faces of the people who were inside of the room.
"Um, yo!" Naruto greeted with a wave. "Who are you" a short bald man asked, immediately on guard. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki, and this is my partner, Sasuke Uchiha, and we've come looking for a Saiyan named Kakarrot" Naruto said.
"How do you know that name?" a man who was completely bandaged and in a bed like machine demanded. "I am a half Saiyan, my father was his father's brother, and I have come looking for my last remaining bit of family" Naruto said.
However, his resolve broke then and there. Tears had begun to stream out from his eyes, and he began to sob quietly. "Please, I've been searching for him for four years, if you know anything please tell me" he begged.
All of the people in the room felt pity for the boy. Searching four years for his only family is rough, and now he's within a stone's throw range and he didn't even know it. "My Saiyan name was Kakarrot, but please, call me Goku" the man in the bed asked.
Naruto wiped his tears away. "Of course, Goku" he said happily, though his previous fit of crying could be heard in his voice. "Hello there" a feminine voice greeted. A woman with black eyes and her black hair tied into a bun was standing where the voice came from.
"I'm Goku's wife, Chi-Chi" she said happily. "It's great to meet you, I'm glad my cousin has such a beautiful wife" Naruto said with a smile. Chi-Chi smiled, and Naruto felt a tug on his pants.
"Hi, I'm Gohan" a small boy said. "Hey there squirt" Naruto said with a grin. He reached down and ruffled the five year olds hair. The people in the room began to laugh at the scene. Sasuke looked on, with an extremely small smile on his face.
Though, he also felt a pang of jealousy. Yes, he was happy for his friend, but he also felt sad on the other side of it. Yes, Naruto deserved a family, but he would give anything to have these kinds of moments with his again.
After all, any child of his would have been Gohan's age by now. The sadness in his eyes was something that Naruto noticed, so he decided to intervene. "Hey, Sasuke, get over here" he called out, and the Uchiha was taken by surprise.
He figured Naruto would want every minute with his family possible, and not have him in the way. Knowing Naruto as long as he had, he probably should have expected something like this. "Everybody, this is my travelling partner for the past four years, Sasuke Uchiha" he said wrapping his arm around Sasuke's shoulder.
"Get off me idiot" Sasuke said with a slight glare, and a tick mark. Gohan chuckled at their interaction. Sasuke sort of reminded him of Mr. Piccolo, with his aggressive way of speaking. "Ah, he's a teddy bear" Naruto chuckled after Sasuke had literally pushed him off.
"So, how did you get here?" a blue haired woman, who had originally introduced herself as Bulma, asked. "We've been travelling in a ship for a couple years, taking stops around the various planets that could possibly have Kaka- I mean Goku, on them" Naruto said waving his hand.
"It was not a picnic trust me" Sasuke grunted. "I don't know, Moka was pretty cool, so were the rest of the girls. Alucard was a pretty fun guy too" Naruto shrugged. "Alucard was also a vampiric homicidal psychopath" Sasuke said dryly. "But he was pretty funny" Naruto pointed out. "Oh definitely" Sasuke agreed, but with no indication that he actually shared that mindset.
"Alucard?" Goku asked. "This vampire we met while looking for you cuz, he had this awesome power to regenerate from any attack we threw at him! He was a pain to fight though, never really taking any damage" Naruto explained. "Wow! Now I really wanna fight him!" Goku shouted in excitement, apparently forgetting he was hospitalized.
"Oh my god there's two of them now…" Sasuke said physically disturbed by the sight. "You've got one too huh?" Chi-Chi asked. "I'm sure you know my pain" Sasuke said simply. Gohan giggled, this man was just like his daddy!
"So what put you in here?" Naruto asked looking around nervously at the hospital walls. "His name was Vegeta, he was a Saiyan like us! He was so strong, but he left" Goku said. "He was also responsible for the deaths of four of our allies, as well as his partner" Krillin said shaking a little bit, both from anger and terror. It was lucky that he had survived yes, but being the only one left also stung a bit.
"His own partner…" Naruto said a little shaken. Sasuke growled on impulse. This man Vegeta was no better than him, if it were possible, he was just as bad. "We don't even have a way to get them back, the dragon balls are gone" Krillin said sadly. "Dragon balls?" Naruto and Sasuke both asked."Seven magic balls that when gathered summon a dragon that can grant almost any one wish" Bulma said. "But when Mr. Piccolo died, the dragon balls turned to stone" Gohan said.
"I believe I may be able to help" a hollow voice said. The people in the room turned to face it. He was a humanoid genie looking man, with completely black skin. "Mr. Popo!" Krillin and Goku shouted in surprise.
"There are dragon balls on Kami's home planet Namek, and you can use those to revive your friends" Popo explained. "Hey, we've been to Namek, it's where we learned to sense power levels" Naruto said with realization. "The coordinates are still in our ship, we can take you there" Sasuke offered.
"Actually, I'd rather stay here with Goku and do some catching up, you can handle it right?" Naruto said hopefully to his partner. "Hn, sure" the last Uchiha grunted before he started organizing the plan with Bulma and Krillin. "I wanna go too!" Gohan shouted. "You will not!" Chi-Chi protested. "Mom, Piccolo died for me, it doesn't seem right to not pay him back" Gohan argued.
"Chi-Chi, I know I haven't been here very long, but Gohan reminds me a lot of me when I was his age, except he's a lot smarter than I was, so he probably won't back down from this" Naruto said. Gohan nodded furiously.
Chi-Chi just sighed. "You are definitely your father's son, alright you can go" she said. Gohan cheered with a huge grin on his face, eerily similar to one his father wore often. This would later be known as the infamous Son grin. 'Nice job sport, we'll make an awesome one out of you yet' Naruto thought, adopting his own signature grin.
"Well, it's settled, we'll use your ship and head to Namek" Bulma said with a nod. "As soon as we're out of the hospital" Krillin said sheepishly. "Hey, it's no rush, I mean, there's no reason that we need to be there IMMEDIATELY right?" Naruto said.
Oh no, there is no one reason. There are two reasons. Two reasons that the Z-Fighters are currently blissfully unaware of encountering. One they had met before and one new. Both of them extremely dangerous.
Hey, I'm not dead! Sorry that this took so long. It was mainly because I was pretty busy with some stuff. And another thing was I had no idea where to go after about 800 words of this so it might seem a little rushed, because it was. But anywhore, the closing of the chapter.
