Chapter 4. Mabel wasn't fond of grimdark, suspenseful, dramatic moments. She tried to make the best of almost everything, it was hard because of all the things she and dipper had gone through last summer, losing the shack to Gideon and...ugh she I didn't even want to think about it! She pulled Norman behind her on one side and Wybie on the other, trying to laugh and be silly to keep their spirits up, "soooo" she spun, letting go of both their arms, "Wybie~"

Wyborne flinched at the singsong way she said his name, "What?"

"Are you and Coraline daaaaating?" She giggled, slinging an arm over his shoulder.

"WHAT?!" Wybie pushed her off, "OF COURSE NOT! You already asked that?! Why do you keep asking that?!"

"Oh nothing much, just the way you had been swooning over her." Mabel skipped ahead and Wybie leaned toward Norman, "Even with Agatha disappearing...the weirdest thing in this town still seams to be Mabel..."

"I-I dunno she seems pretty nice." Norman shrugged and his face went red again, as Wybie quickened his pace a little to catch up with Mabel.

Mabel looked around the Main Street and stroked an imaginary beard on her chin, "Now Gentlemen." She said to the boys, "we've been faced with a question~" she spun and spread out her arms, "Dipper McBossy-Pants said to go to the Diner!" She pointed to Lazy Susan's diner a block away, "But!" She twirled in two complete circles until she was facing them, "Gravity falls is a Majestic place! And I! Mabel Van Smile-Dip, have decided to show you all around this here town! Anyway Dipper and Wybie's girlfriend will probably take a really long time to do their nerd thing." She jogged a bit ahead, pointing out little landmarks.

"Over there is a statue of Quinten Trembly!" She pointed to a memorial to a heroic looking man, "he was said to be the town's founder, but dipper and I?" Mabel lowered her voice to a whisper, "we found out that the founder was really the eighth and a half PRESIDENT! We found an old storage place for conspiracies,OH! And then we almost got arrested but the president who had been trapped in peanut brittle helped us escape." Norman looked at Wybie, wondering if he understood any of this, Wyborne just shrugged and followed Mabel down a path into the woods...

"Over there is the gnome part of the forest...stay away from there." Traveling further Mabel pointed out a rock with an oddly shaped hole (it looked like a man had jumped through it), "that's the Manotaur's hideout, dipper decided not to kill a bear there...but they're dumb and sexist so..."

She lead them further and then off the path and down a hill to some large crystals reflecting light onto the ground, "Watch!" She stuck a hand in a pink ray of light and it shrunk, then she moved to a blue ray and grew it back to its normal size.

"Dipper used these to get a growth spurt and then Gideon captured us." She was about to take them back up the hill when Wybie stopped her, "Wait. Okay? Just, for once, tell us the whole story. I am sick and tired of you making no sense and I bet Norman is too but he's too nervous and PTSD-ey to say so!"

Mabel sighed and lead them into the forest until they found a fallen trunk to sit on, "Last summer Dipper and I came here from the city, and a few weeks in I met a boy named Gideon Gleeful..."

Dipper and Coraline pushed the door to the diner open, dipper carrying only his journal and Coraline with her backpack, they scanned the rows of tables and booths but none held their friends, "ohh no..." Dipper moaned and walked to the counter.

"Hey, uh, lazy Susan!"

"Yes, hon?" Lazy Susan's nasally voice replied from the kitchen, and a minute later she appeared with a plate of bacon and pancakes.

"Lazy Susan! Have you seen my sister around here?"

"Well, let's see" she looked at him, "Oh my, you're Stan's boy! Now let me think."

She stood there for about a minute, "oh yes! I think I saw your sister earlier outside with a couple of cute boys! They went into the forest."

Dipper lead Coraline out the door, "DANGIT Mabel!" He picked up a rock and threw it, "Um." Coraline poked his shoulder, "I hate to interrupt your moodiness but why didn't you're sister go to the diner like you said?" Her voice was annoyed.

"She just-UGH!" Dipper kicked a fire hydrant and staggered back in pain, "she always takes anyone we meet on a huge tour of everywhere we've been and tells them about every adventure we've been on, and she talk for hours no matter what's going on!" He leaned against the brick wall of the diner, "And since half of our adventures were in the woods she takes people in there but she's not good with directions and almost every time she goes in there she gets lost."

"And she took Wybie in there and now they're probably lost?"

"And Norman. But yeah."

"Then why don't we go look for them?!" Coraline's hands were resting on her hips.

"The woods are huge," dipper slid down until her was sitting with his knees against his chest, "they could be anywhere, and if we try to look we'd probably get lost."

"Well...Well how'd you find them the other times?"

"If you walk far enough you'll either get to the lake, a mountain, or the highway, it's pretty easy to figure out how to get back from there, but they'd have to walk for hours..." Coraline sat down next to him, and looked out over the mostly-deserted street, "can't we do anything?" A stray Gravity Falls Gossiper fluttered around their heads and landed in front of dippers toes, glancing up a headline caught his eye:

PSYCHIC OUT OF THE SLAMMER: GLEEFUL BREAKS OUT!

Dipper snatched it from the ground and read aloud, "'The former tourist attraction, a Gideon Gleeful, broke out of county jail last night at 12:30 AM. He'd been imprisoned for destruction of property, stealing, and 'breaking [the town's] heart'. In an interview with Shandra Hemenice our lead reporter got more details' Oh as if things weren't bad enough!" Dipper stood up and started walking towards the woods, "Wait! Where are you going?!" Coraline dashed after him.

"Long story short; Gideon is evil, he want to marry Mabel, and I'm going to try to find her before he does."

"Didn't you say that was mostly impossible."

"Yeah."

"Alright then."

They walked into the woods calling Mabel, and Wybie's names until after a few minutes Coraline spun around, "What was that?!"

"What?" Dipper asked looking around. A twig snapped behind them and they both turned and looked a an extra wide tree. Coraline looked sideways at dipper and mouthed, 'on three' she held up one finger and slowly tiptoed to the trunk of the tree, two fingers, dipper and her stood facing each other... Three. They leapt around the trunk to find it deserted. "Oh." Dipper looked around. Suddenly a twig fell from above, and they both looked up. Levitating on yellow balls of energy a boy wearing goggles and a helmet and a girl with pigtails hovered a few feet above their heads, "dammit!" The girl said pushing the boy, "Raz! We weren't supposed to make them aware of our presence!" Instead of responding the boy lowered himself to the ground, "Rasputin Aquato, Psychonaut."

Dipper and Coraline looked at each other, "Psychonaut?" Coraline questioned.

"A Psychic Agent, sent on missions involving the paranatural." The girl replied ans she, too, descended, "Lili Zanotto, we think we can help you find your friends."

Hi guys~ new CHARECTERS?! Yep! These are lili Zanotto and Rasputin Aquato form the video game psychonauts! Much moodiness and angst in this chapter, but also silliness and such! Also someone asked if there was Mabel/Norman in this. And so I'm gonna just tell you the ships in this are: mabel/Norman, Wybie/Coraline, Coraline/dipper but also as friendship, and Raz/Lili.

AND! I am sorry beyond all comprehension that I haven't updated in months! I found a new TV show I got addicted to and a whole bunch of other stuff...but it was mostly procrastination. It might seam like an empty promise but the next chapter will come soon-scouts honour!
