Previously on Fate's Destiny - Kids! Where are you? It's time to go!" Their mother called from downstairs. "Come on guys! Let's go you're all going to be late!" "Coming mommy!" Melinda called as she ran down the stairs with her shoulder length brown hair which had been tied up in pigtails went bouncing up and down with her. Once she was gone, Wyatt turned to Chris and put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry bro." He said softly. "We'll figure this out alright? We just need more time. Let's come back up here after Melinda goes to sleep tonight." "Maybe we should just tell her Wy." Chris said shaking his head. "I don't want to lie to her. It feels wrong." "If we tell her Chris she'll tell mom and you know from there what'll happen right? She and Phoebe and Aunt Paige will all get together and either have all our powers bound or worse. Instead of just losing mom we'll lose everyone. Our entire family will all be killed. Do you really want that?"

"Wyatt? Chris? Where are you guys? It's time to go." Chris's breathing began to qicken again as he heard his mother's voice as panic began rising in his chest, he then watched as Wyatt instinctivly used his magic to close the Book of Shadows with telekinesis.

"Chris, honey, you're face is all red. Have you been crying? What's wrong?" Chris shook his head and replied, "It's nothing mom. Really, I'm okay." "Race you to the car bro." Wyatt called as he ran past Chris while gently pushing him out of the way. "Hey! no fair!" Chris called back as he ran after his older brother. "You got a head start!" Piper shook her head in disbelief at her rowdy children and called out, "Boys no rough-housing! The Manor is not supernatural proof!"

"If we tell her Chris she'll tell mom and you know from there what'll happen right? She and Phoebe and Aunt Paige will all get together and either have all our powers bound or worse. Instead of just losing mom we'll lose everyone. Our entire family will all be killed. Do you really want that?" Chris shook his head as images of his family all lying dead around him scared him as he closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep for the rest of the way to school.

NOW...

Chapter 4 - Morality Bites

All was quiet in the Heavens above that overlooked not just San Francisco but the entire world as Leo Wyatt, now the head of the Elders meditated deep inside one of the chambers. Eyes closed he focused only on his breathing to keep his emotions in check. In and out his breathing came out slow and even. Stay calm. He kept telling himself over and over in his mind. Don't think about anything just focus.

Suddenly a sharp feeling pierced his chest causing him to open his eyes as he gasped. The feeling hadn't been painful, but he could already sense that something was wrong. Especially when the another sharp feeling stabbed at him this time hitting his heart. "Piper."

Opening the door of the chamber, he quickly found himself face to face with another Elder by the name of Roland. "Something the matter there Leo?" the aging Elder asked as his blue eyes fell upon him.

Leo nodded. "Something's wrong with Piper." He said quickly. "I have to go and see her." Roland put a hand out to stop him. "I'm sure your wife is fine Leo." He said calmly trying to reassure him. "Besides Isn't one of her sister's a whitelighter?" Leo nodded then shook his head. "That's not the point. I'm not just going to abandon my family."

Roland glared at Leo a serious glare in the aging Elder's face quickly told Leo that he was in fact dead serious, but Leo didn't care at the moment that he was once again breaking the rules of an Elder, after all that mattered most to him was his family, and his wife and children always came first. "Leo, you need to think rationally about what your doing." Roland replied softly. "You can't just flee to Earth every time your wife's in danger."

"Watch me." Was all Leo would reply before vanishing in a swirl of blue and white shimmering orbs. He knew he had to get to his family and find out what was happening before it was too late.

Sitting at his desk in school, Chris tried as hard as he could to concentrate, but all that was filling up inside his head was the images of seeing his mother dying in front of him. The memory of the nightmare sent goosebumps to rise on his body and chills to spread throughout his insides. The entire world around him suddenly began to spin as black spots began to fill his vision as he tried to keep himself calm. Don't lose control. He kept telling silently himself over and over. Keep calm and just focus. A sudden rising lump now began to fill up inside his throat as his eyes now burned heavily with tears as they threatened to fall down his cheeks. Keep it together Chris! He silently kept scolding himself as if he was imagining his father talking through him. Show no emotion.

The lights in the classroom suddenly began to flicker as Chris folded his arms across his desk and laid his head down. The more he tried to relax, the worse things got, as the lights overhead started flickering faster and faster before suddenly erupting in a sudden explosion which caused several kids to jump from their seats shrieking in terror.

No! No! No! Chris thought horrified as a wave of panic began to erupt from inside him. Stay calm! Stay Calm! The more he tried to calm himself down, the more dangerous the situation became, and he could feel himself starting to unravel. If word gets out about my powers, then everything about our family will be exposed. Chris thought trying to keep himself steady and in control. He knew his powers were fueled by emotion, but as hard as he tried he couldn't pull himself together. His breathing suddenly became much more difficult as the world around him suddenly began to spin faster and faster.

The lights overhead started to exploded one by one which now was causing an eruption of chaos among the other students as the teacher tried to keep everyone together. At this moment, Chris seized an opportunity to sneak off and find Wyatt. Gotta find Wy, and get home. He thought as the momentary panic attack continued to grow worse.

Sneaking out of the room as quietly as he could, he was then met by the sudden appearance of Wyatt who was staring at his younger brother in great concern. "Chris, you have to calm down." Wyatt said softly grabbing ahold of his hands gently. "I-I Can't." Chris managed to choke out as a stream of tears began to fall down his cheeks. "Yes you can." Wyatt said calmly. "No, we have to get home. W-We have to check the book and find a way to save mom." The Thirteen year old was near hysterical as the ground beneath the two boys suddenly started to shake like an earthquake. "Chris, calm down." Wyatt said trying to keep his little brother as steady as he could.

The ground beneath the two boys started to shake harder and harder nearly knocking them both of their feet as Wyatt's grip from Chris slipped. Chris fell to his knees clutching the sides of his head as he then fell to the floor on his side curling his knees up to his chest. He was so far out of it that he barely even took notice of the shimmering blue and white lights that entered to reveal the appearance of his father.

"Great job dad, get us all exposed to the non magic world why don't you?" He heard his older brother mumble out sarcastically. "There's no time for that right now." His father replied softly. "We have to get Chris out of here."

"We? Sorry, but that's my job not yours." Wyatt replied this time with a hint of anger in his voice, and with that, the next thing that Chris felt was Wyatt's hand on his shoulder as a swirl of blue and white light enveloped his vision and he could have sworn he passed out, because when he woke up next, he found himself at home lying on the couch inside the attic, with Wyatt skimming through the Book of Shadows.

Groaning, he slowly opened his eyes, sat up and asked, "What happened? Where's dad?" Wyatt looked up at his younger brother for a second but didn't say anything as he went back to looking down at the book. "Wyatt? Where's dad?" Chris asked while slowly getting to his feet. "Sit back down." Wyatt replied his blue eyes staring coldly at his younger brother. "You're in too weak of a condition Chris, you need to rest."

"You're mad at me aren't you?" Chris asked as he slowly walked over toward Wyatt, but Wyatt shook his head. "I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at dad." "Why?" Chris asked as he saw his older brother shake his head. "I don't even remember the last time I ever saw dad, do you?" Chris slowly nodded. "Yeah, it was at my last school play when I was nine." Slamming the book closed in frustration, Wyatt glared around the attic in anger. "That's my point exactly. "We haven't seen him in five years, and now he thinks he can just waltz back into our lives like nothing's ever happened!"

Using only a fraction of power Chris watched as Wyatt was then able to channel a portion of telekinetic energy to blast away a nearby book shelve which was obliterated upon contact. "How could he just abandon mom like that?! Abandon us?!"

"What is going on up here?" The boys turned now to see their mom standing in the doorway of the attic with a stern look on her face. "Why aren't you boys in school? What happened?"

"There was a little minor incident with Chris." Came their father's voice much to the dismay of Wyatt who just shook his head in irritation. Piper now turned to her youngest son for an explanation. "Chris, honey what's been going on?"

Chris opened his mouth to tell her, but there was something deep within him that told him not to say anything, so instead he went quiet and sat back down on the couch with his face buried in his hands. "Chris, it's okay." Leo said gently to his son as he walked over to place a hand on his shoulder but the sound of Wyatt's voice stopped him. "Stay the hell away from him!"

Leo's gaze flickered up toward his eldest son in confusion. There was an intense gaze of anger mirroring in Wyatt's blue eyes as he stared coldly at his father. "Stay the hell away from my little brother." He replied angrily. "Wyatt Matthew Halliwell! what has gotten into you?" His mother demanded searching the angry features on her son's face. "You don't talk that way to your father."

"That's not my father!" Wyatt replied angrily as his voice became cold without a hint of emotion. "Dad left us on our own for five years without a call or anything and now he thinks he can just walk back into our lives again after all this time? I don't think so. I'm sorry mom, but that man is not my father. As far as I'm concerned he's nothing but a complete stranger."

Leo was taken aback by his eldest son's harsh words, but knew deep down inside that Wyatt was right. Leo had abandoned them, and now the bond he once shared with his children had been broken, and it seemed from the tone in Wyatt's voice that he wasn't about to start forgiving him any time soon.

Chris on the other hand just did nothing but remained silent, after all what could he say? He knew deep down that Wyatt was right about his father abandoning him so why was he all of a sudden caring now?

"You were never there for me." Suddenly a flash of bright light surged through Chris's eyes as everything around him began to spin, all the while as a voice rang in his head that sounded very much like his own but older and deeper. As the images began to shift, he caught a glimpse of his father Leo standing on the top of the Golden Gate Bridge with someone who looked exactly like him only much older. Possibly in his early twenties at best, but what was going on? Why was this happening? "You were never there for me. You were there for everybody else. For mom, Wyatt, half the world, but you were never there for me. You didn't have the time."

The images suddenly shifted and now Chris could see another vision. This time of the same older version of himself but this time, with a young lady with olive colored skin, long dark brown hair and brown eyes. As Chris studied her from within the vision he immediately took notice of a strange looking marking on the inside of her right wrist which was shown as the symbol of a phoenix.

"This is still our spot Bianca. Nothing can change that." He heard his voice echoing deep in his head as the images slowly began to fade in and out as he slowly came back to reality. Blinking, he caught a glimpse of a heated exchange between his brother and his father.

"I don't know what the hell kind of game your playing here by thinking you can just waltz back in to our lives after five years, but it doesn't work like that." Wyatt was saying in a harsh tone of anger as Chris could see his blue eyes flashing dangerously with hatred.

"Sweetie, you need to calm down." His mother was saying in a warm loving tone just as Chris noticed his brother raising up his hand about to curl it into a fist when a shadow of a man suddenly shot from behind Wyatt which appeared to look like him only much older and vey muscular with long dark blonde hair.

Chris was so shocked by the sight he was seeing behind his brother that he had no time to fully process everything that was happening until the moment he saw his father starting to gasp for air as he reached up his hands for his throat. Chris's body suddenly began to shake with fear as he had never witnessed the magnitude of Wyatt's power before. He always knew his older brother was powerful although he had no idea just how much hatred Wyatt was holding against their father.

"Wyatt stop!" Chris saw his brother along with the sight of the older man behind him both turned to look toward him just as their father went to his knees gasping for breath. Wyatt's blue eyes softened upon the sight of seeing the fear in his younger brother's eyes, but Chris's fearful gaze wasn't directed toward Wyatt, but a the sight of the older man behind Wyatt who then suddenly disappeared in a swirl of blue and black orbs, which chilled Chris to the bone. Who was that guy? And why did he look so much like Wyatt?

"Chris? Honey are you okay?" Everything in his head started to become hazy, and his vision started to grow dim. He could feel someone holding onto him and the voices of his brother calling out his name with his mother yelling out, "Leo do something!"
