As I dashed through the school gate before they closed at 8, it was obvious that I was late. Not only I had forgotten my favourite snack for the day, M&Ms, I had forgotten to bring a scrunchie to tie my hair. They looked so messy and I don't like them at all. Being representable in class was one thing but I decided to not let my hair bothered me that much.

As I entered class, the teacher gave me a disapproving look. I'm not sure if he was referring to my tardiness or my hair but I ignored him anyway. I made my way through the rows and went to my seat. I saw Mura-kun, with his eyes seemingly about to doze off at the class. That somehow cheered me up because knowing that he can't eat in class, this does bored him and he may fell asleep easily.

During the lesson, I kept on brushing my hair with my fingers, trying to make them 'stay' at the position behind my shoulders. It was not easy to focus in class with my fingers seemingly finding their own way to distract me from listening. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my shoulders. I turned around and saw Mura-kun offering me a hair-tie.

"Ne, take mine and… tie your hair…"

I stared at the hair tie for a few seconds. That was the hair tie Mura-kun often uses for his basketball games once he got serious for matches. I took it from him, muttered 'thanks', and tied my hair ponytail style with it.

During lunchtime, I bought bento from the cafeteria and went to the vacant seat. Mura-kun was apparently following me from behind but I don't mind it at all. We both sat down before our meals. He had a box of umaibo with him.

"Eh? Atsushi, only *umaibo? No sweets?" I sometimes call Mura-kun as 'Atsushi' when it's just the two of us.

"Un…" Murasakibara lazily replied, "I want to buy sweets together with you after class, that's why."

I blushed at what he just said, "Oh.. OK. We'll meet up at the usual place."

"Yeah… by the way," said Murasakibara, "I like you in ponytail."

I wasn't trying to hide my red cheeks but receiving a compliment from him made me happy. "Arigato, Atsushi. It was all thanks to you as well for lending me your hair tie. I thought you fell asleep in class."

"I was about to… but when I saw you… and how you tried to keep your hair, it woke me up and… I just took out my hair tie for you..."

Listening to his explanations, I was thankful to him and I decided to pay for his snacks later.
