Chapter 4: Bellatrix's Vault

Hey, guys! I'm updating. I know some of you are confused and others are just going with the flow. I wasn't sure about years, so I acted like Harry Potter went to Hogwarts in the 2000s, not the 1990s. Also they know so much, because I feel like they shouldn't be so clueless, and Dumbledore was a little bit more open with this information than in the movies/books. So I hope this cleared some of the confusion up!

Enjoy!

The gang was trying to figure out how to break into Gringrotts. None of their plans were working. They needed Griphook, but he had no clue who they were. Fred charged into the camp. "Bellatrix is going to her vault today. We could sneak in with her and grab the horcrux!" Fred shouted.

"Only a few of us should go," said George, "and they can use the invisibility cloak, while the others distract the aurors."

"I'm going,"'said Harry, "but I'm going alone."

"Harry, we have already gone over this," Ginny said exasperated.

"I'll go with Harry," said Luna, "and maybe Ron and Hermione should come too."

"No!" Harry said, "No one else is going to be out in danger."

"Well, Harry, it sucks to be you, because we are going to follow you, whether you want us to not," said Ron. And everyone agreed, leaving Harry outnumbered.

Line break…..

It was time to follow Bellatrix, and everyone was nervous. The aurors surrounded the place. It seemed everyone was looking for them there. Harry sighed. Everyone was in position. Ginny ran up to one of the aurors, and she punched him in the nose. He yelped, and chaos ensued. In the chaos, no one noticed the door open and close, except for James, Sirius, Remus, and Moody. They entered the bank, but they couldn't find anything suspicious. Sirius groaned.

"Bellatrix is here," he said.

"Oh my! If it isn't my favorite cousin: Siri!" Bellatrix said, and she started stroking his cheek with one of her overgrown fingernails. Sirius grimaced. He pushed her hand away.

"What do you want, Bella?" Sirius asked.

"I don't know, Sirius, what do I want from you?" she asked, "Well, there's quite a lot. Repenting of your foolishness and joining the Dark Lord would be one. Or you'll have to pay the price later."

"I will never," said Sirius.

"So be it," said Bellatrix, but before anyone could cast a spell, Bellatrix flew backwards.

Line break….

Harry fumed under the invisibility cloak. His arm was stretched out, and his wand glowed from the spell he just cast. No one touched his Godfather while he could help it. He lost him once. He won't lose him again. Hermione pushed his arm down, and she whispered calming words into his ear. Ron looked at them with jealousy, but he shook his head. He knew Harry was dating Ginny.

"Bellatrix is moving. We need to follow close behind her," said Luna, and they started following her.

Line break…..

"Huh?" James asked.

"I don't know," said Sirius, "but someone just sent a spell at my dear old cousin."

"Yeah, but who?" Remus asked, "No one here was paying any attention to us." Moody was scanning the area with his magical eye, and he barely caught a wisp of magic.

"The spell came from over there," Moody said, pointing to the only deserted area in the front area of the bank.

"But no one was over there! If they had a disillusionment spell on, you still would have seen them," said Sirius. Everyone was confused and concerned. There was no time for this. Voldemort was on the rise, and they had potentially dangerous teenagers running around carrying horcruxes.

Line break…..

Harry and the others clung on for dear life as they plunged around curves and down drops. When they finally stopped, they were breathless. They each swore never to do that again. Luckily, Griphook was the one in charge of taking Bellatrix to her vault. He was a more friendly goblin than the others, and they knew him. They have dealt with him before.

When Bellatrix was done with her vault, they waited as she got into the cart. Before

Griphook could get on, they sent a spell to send it spiraling down deeper into the bank. Griphook stood confused for a moment too long, and Ron grabbed him.

"Let us into her vault," said Hermione, "We need something from in there."

"That would be stealing, and I cannot condone thievery," said Griphook, and he set off an alarm. They cursed, and Ron forced Griphook's hand into the correct apt. The Gail opened, and they charged in. Griphook was manhandled into the vault as well, and it closed behind them.

"Remember don't touch anything. It will burn and multiply," said Harry. And they all moved carefully through the vault. Griphook was held by Ron. And eventually Ron stopped, because

Griphook was purposely trying to touch stuff.

"I found it!" Hermione whisper-shouted.

"Great! How do we get it?" Harry asked.

"I don't know," said Hermione, "but we need to figure it out quickly." They stood in silence for a minute.

"Hermione, do you have a that walking stick in your bag still?" Ron asked, suddenly.

"Yes," said Hermione confused.

"Use that!" And Hermione quickly but carefully used the walking stick to get the cup. It worked, and they had to force Griphook to let them out of the vault. When they exited, they ran down the hallway, but when they hit the open area with the dragon, they froze. There were four aurors and several goblins there. Harry groaned. Today just wasn't his day.

"Give us whatever you stole, and please come with us now," said Remus.

"Sorry, we can't do that," said Harry sarcastically. Hermione elbowed him in the side, but he ignored her. He aimed a spell at the chains holding the dragon, and the chains exploded. The aurors and goblins scrambled to get out of the way. Luna grabbed Harry's arm and pulled him to the dragon.

"I guess we're riding a dragon," said Ron, "Bloody fantastic."

Line break…

Neville looked around and noticed four aurors were missing, and an alarm had been sounded. He flinched. That wasn't good. It was another half hour before anything happened.

A dragon flew out of the roof of Gringrots with four teens on its back.

"Of course they can't leave the normal way," Ginny said, and Neville chuckled.

Review!

I feel like this is moving a little too fast, so I'm going to try and slow it down some.
