I wasn't sure what to expect when Vulpix led me down the trail to Serene Village. The other villagers apparently saw me as a hero for saving them and the kids. Yet, they always asked what I was-some odd Pokemon from another region maybe? Who knows. I didn't say anything about it though, just thanked them, and kept moving. Vulpix seemed to get the hint that we shouldn't go around and spread that i'm a human-since humans don't really walk around any part of this world anymore. Some looked a bit suspicious of my appearance, but I just moved away quickly from them.
Soon, we reached Vulpix's house-It was actually Carrocasta's, but hers too, as the story goes. "This is my house. Or, really, my pop's house, but he takes care of me." She explains, opening the door with her paw. "He isn't here right now, so wait over here." She gestures to the table near the center of the main room. "I'll go grab my friends." She shut the door behind her, and ran off-probably to the school.
"How did she do that? She has paws." I ask myself, before shrugging. I let my backpack slide off of my shoulder, where it hit the floor with a small POMF. I take a look around the house from where I was standing-it looked just like how it does in the game, so not much to say about it.
I decide to unload the contents of my bag to sort through them. Emptying out all of my shit, I had my phone, my MP3 and earbuds, my stick, one oran berry, and around 227 Poke. The coins were small and light, so I think I could store quite the load. My backpack has four zippers, two side pockets, and a front pocket between the front zipper and third one. There was also a side pouch underneath. I open the first zipper, exposing the empty pocket inside, and slip the berries in. I put the other items inside the second space, and my Poke in the third. The fourth, front pouch, and underneath container I left alone for now until I got more things to put in them.
I kept ahold of my phone, though, and opened it up to see if anything was changed. So far, it still looked as it did when I first looked at it. I click on STATS, as I don't think I didn't check it. There were a list of options, each with a number value next to it:
HP: 44/50
Atk: 2
Def: 0
Allies:
Alliance:
Emeras:
So, it is exactly like it says it is: my stats. I think I still haven't fully healed, but I also can be proud my HP is 50. It's a solid number, and I guess all that working out I did pays off. Speaking of which, I need to keep in shape here too. Can't be going all shit on myself now.
My attack probably only reflected on my weapon, and my defense on the armor I have, which is none. I have no allies, and no Emeras. Or a looplet to start. I exit out of that menu, and click the next: Save. That same blinding light came around, but I was used to flashing lights in my eyes now. Well, I guess my progress was saved now, even if I don't know what that really means. The last option, Item Storage, now was a bit more filled. The big list, which used to be empty, now had a listing: Oran berry, Oran berry, Poke x 227. In the sub box with Weapons, Armour, and Effect, only the Weapons slot was occupied, with 'stick' typed out in underneath it.
Real quick, I also check my vitals. Green and steady. Perfect.
I turn my phone off, and put it away inside my now organized backpack. The second I did, the door flew open, the loud slam causing me to jump. "I'm baaaack!" Vulpix yelled. She came inside the house, with three Pokemon following behind her-Deerling, Espurr, and Goomy. "Guys, this is Zekko. He was the one to save us. Zekko, these are my friends Deerling, Espurr, and Goomy." She introduced, pointing a paw to each of them as she said their names.
I gave a wave. "Hi."
"Hi." "Great to meet you!" "Greetings." They responded in their respective voices. They still sounded the same as I imagined: Espurr light and drifty, Deerling high pitched and smooth, and Goomy like he was halfway underwater. Not much else to say. We all talked for a bit, exchanging greetings and thanks. Of course, I was asked what species I was, and I just responded 'I don't know'. They were reluctant to accept that answer.
Soon, the sun set over the horizon, and the three were forced to leave. We said our goodbyes, before I made to leave.
Vulpix stopped me. "Hold it. Where do you think you're going?"
"Uh..." I tilt my head, confused. "Going to find a place to sleep?"
"And have you freeze out there? Hell no, you're going to stay here as my guest." She insisted, sticking her nose in the air.
"But what about Carrocasta?"
"He's gonna be gone for a few more days, don't worry. Please, don't leave." She switched from being stern to slightly begging. The turn took me for a whim, but I sighed in defeat.
"Fine. I'll stay."
Vulpix did a small dance of victory, before showing me to the guest room-which I didn't even know existed. "Sorry for the nest, I don't know if you'll be comfortable with that..." She sighed. I waved my hands in a motion that displayed a don't care, which she took with a grain of salt. I stared at her, with her staring back. "What?"
"Uh, can you leave?" I ask.
"Why?"
"What, you want to sleep with me or something?"
Her face goes red. "N-no, don't be weird!"
"You're the one staring at me." I point out. She huffs, before padding off.
That was odd. I think, a confused expression on my face. I shrug the thought away, before taking off my shirt, shoes, socks, and shorts. I was left in my underwear, which I had to use as pajamas, and laid on the nest. It was actually pretty comfy, and was padded down enough so that none of the edges poked into my body. With no other thoughts to occupy my brain, I closed my eyes and fell asleep, letting the dream world take over me.
...
Welcome back, human.
I shot my eyes open. The world around me was black, and nothing could be seen. "Wha...?" The voice sounded familiar...
Yes, it is I, the one who gave you a second chance of life. You can call me...Giratina.
Now I was listening. Giratina was known as some sort of devil Pokemon, and was described to be...not good, but not evil either. Just neutral. "What do you want?" I asked.
I see that you are living in what you have seen to be a game, yes?
I tilted my head, confused. "Yeah...? I mean, it's pretty similar. Maybe a few changes."
You have been chosen, young human. The Pokemon world may be just a game to you and your kind, but with every fiction comes with a reality. This was taken from your imagination and turned into a real world, where we exist.
"That...makes no sense."
Too bad. Accept it.
I sighed. "So, why am I here?"
You were given a second chance. I saw potential, the one with a heart of gold-you are the empath that will save this world from peril.
"Okay, and why me exactly?"
You were deemed most capable, chosen by Arceus himself. His powers cannot turn you into a Pokemon, as you believed, but we shall still provide assistance when needed.
"So, I was deemed to be the 'chosen one' by a fictional creature, which turned a video game into a reality, and now i'm here to save the world from peril that will affect this timeline?"
That's the jist of it, yes.
I slapped my palm to my forehead. "Well that's makes zero sense, but i'll go with it. How am I supposed to do that?"
That is for you to figure out.
"Thanks for the help." I say sarcastically.
Don't sass me. Now, there shall be a gift for you when we wake up. Speaking of which, you should do that now.
"Wait wha-"
And everything went white.
