Chapter 4: Meet and Explanations
"Talking"
'Thinking'
(Scene Break)
Harry had to ask Tonks to shrink Grell's luggage, so she could store it inside her trunk. During that time, everyone was being entertained by the mutterings coming from Lupin, who was cursing Sirius in multiple ways for jinxing something; Harry could not catch for what. After that, Moody disillusion both her and Grell so they could fly without being spotted by the enemy, which seemed very unlikely, since they were hiding and did not want people to know that they were back. And since Grell did not have a broomstick of his own to use, Harry had a back seat passenger for the first time. Now Harry would normally not have a hard time doing this, but Grell had taken this time to grope and feel her up and it was a very hard time for Harry to not to squeak or moan, which would give away what they were doing. And she was forever thankful that Moody did not say anything, but that smug smile of his was not comforting.
But as soon as they closed the door of the current Headquarter of The Order of the Phoenix. Remus charged forward with his wand in his hand and ready to curse something. "Sirius Black, you bastard, you had to go and jinx it, by saying that last night, didn't you!?"
Everyone followed Remus into the kitchen, where there were a lot of people, most of them, Harry did not even recognized, but there were some that she did recognized. But everyone was watching a wild looking Remus and a cowering Sirius and because of that, most of them had not spotted Grell yet, which was a very difficult thing to do.
"Moony, my old friend, please tell me what I jinxed?" Padfoot basically yelled as he feared for his life, while keeping an eye on Remus' wand and the man himself, so he would know when to flee. He could not remember what he said last night that would make Remus so very mad at him.
Moony pointed to Harry and Grell, who was holding onto one of Harry's arms. It was then that everyone took notice of Grell for the first time and just stared at him, but stared more at the way he was dressed and his hair, wondering how on earth that they could have missed noticing that. Thank Merlin that they could not see his teeth or that would cause some chaos.
"Our Harriet is married to him. You jinxed it, you damn fool!" Moony yelled causing Sirius to pale and look ready to faint and the eyebrows on Snape almost disappeared into his hairline.
Harry should have known that this was going to happen when mount. Molly Weasley exploded, "Harriet Lily Potter, how could you do something so stupid!? You should be ashamed of yourself! You are still a child, you had no business getting married to… that... that thing! I demand that you and that thing get a divorce right now! I will not allow this sham of a marriage to continue inside this house any further!"
Harry had enough of Mrs. Weasley and her opinion, "Well, it is a good thing that my marriage does not concern you and also you have no say about who I marry, since you are not my mother! And Grell is my spouse, not a thing! And I was never a child as my dear loving relatives made sure of that quite well and I have seen and done things that most people, who would probably have run away from at the mere mention of. I married Grell, because I owed him a Life Debt and I would do so again even without a Life Debt involved! Besides if it was not for Grell, I would be laying in an alley, with no soul in my body. He saved my life and I do not regret marrying Grell and it's a small price to pay to keep living! At least, I know that Grell was not after me for my fame or money."
Molly puffed up like a very angry cat, "Now, you see here…"
"Molly, that's enough," Sirius interrupted her ranting and raving. "You are not her mother and you need to remember that this is mine and that you all are merely guests here and I could very well kick you all out and just let Harriet and her new husband stay here. I will show MY goddaughter and her new husband to their room besides we need to start the meeting before it gets too late. Come you two, I will be showing where you two will be staying."
As the three of them made their way through the hallways, they passed Hermione, Ron, The Terror Twins, and Ginny, who stared at Grell in confusion and sent questioning looks at Harry.
Sirius finally spoke up after a couple of moments of silence, "We were going to have you, Harriet, stay in the same room as Hermione and Ginny, but since you two are… well you know, married. I am going to have you two stay in another room. And according to some of the portraits here, that can talk civilly, the Dark Lord used to stay in there when visiting the manor. Harriet, it is going to take some time before I am used to you being married and all, but I rather have that and you being alive, then you dead or worse soul less."
Harry smiled and hugged Sirius, "We will explain things to you, Moony, and the others tomorrow morning after breakfast, when we have the time."
Sirius hugged his goddaughter back and said, "I will hold you to that, prongslet."
With that, Sirius left for the meeting and Harry got a comfort hug from Grell, who could sense that she really needed it.
"Please don't worry about it, they love you, so I am sure that they will accept us and our marriage," Grell said as he held his husband in his arms.
Suddenly, the door to their bedroom slammed opened and all of Harry's friends all filed into the bedroom and sat on anything available. Harry looked like a deer caught in headlights while Grell looked interested in meeting her friends for the first time. She didn't tell him much about her friends as they were a bit busy with other activities.
"So it seems…" Twin #1 started.
"…that the rumors are true." Twin #2 finished.
"Rumors!?" Harry asked in shock. She did not know how the news of her marriage could spread at speeds that are faster than light itself. Then she remembered how Molly Weasley yelled out about her marriage. With those set of lungs, Harry would not be surprised if Voldemort had heard the news already.
Hermione rolled her eyes as she spoke up, "What the twins meant to say that we heard what Mrs. Weasley was yelling about downstairs. So is it true?"
Harry looked nervous as she answered, "Yeah, it is. Everyone, this is Grell Potter nee Sutcliff, my wife. Grell, these are my wonderful friends."
Pointing to Hermione, "This is Hermione Granger."
Pointing to Ron, "This is Ron Weasley."
Pointing to the twins, "These two are Fred and George Weasley, Ron's older brothers. Don't bother trying to tell them apart, nobody can. Not even their own parents."
Pointing to Ginny, "And this is Ginny. She is Ron's and the twins' younger sister. And the man who gave this room to us was Sirius Black, my godfather, who is also known as Padfoot and Snuffles."
Hermione finally spoke up, "You are really married. Somehow, I am not really all that surprised."
The others nodded in agreement, while the Ron turned to Grell and told him, "If you hurt Harry in any way or make her cry. I will sic the twins on you."
Then Hermione asked, "Why did you introduce him as your wife?"
Harry sighed as Grell rubbed her back, "I will tell you tomorrow morning after breakfast with Padfoot and Moony, so that way, I don't have to repeat the story over and over again."
"Alright, we will hold you to that then," Hermione said with a bit of disappointment laced in her voice.
Grell spoke up, "Anyways, it's nice to meet you all. Harry told me a bit about you all."
"Only a…" Fred started.
"…little bit?" George finished the question.
Harry blushed a whole lot. Her whole face was beat red as she gave her reason. "We were busy most of the time."
Hermione, Ron, and Ginny looked confused, but soon enough their faces turned extremely red when they figured out what she had meant. The twins, on the other hand, were laughing and wolf whistling.
(Scene Break)
The next day…
Harry, Grell, Sirius, Remus, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and the twins were sitting comfortably in Sirius' bedroom. It was well warded to stop anyone, who was trying to eavesdrop on the conversation, namely Molly Weasley, who tried to force herself into this little meeting earlier. Sirius looked like he was recovering from going through war and back. Remus made good on his promise and cursed Sirius last night after the meeting. But both of them kept Molly Weasley away from Harry and Grell because Mrs. Weasley believes that she has a right to scold Harry and try to get her to divorce Grell immediately. Mrs. Weasley is just way too overbearing with anyone that she sees as a child. That is the main reason that Bill and Charlie got out of the country as soon as they finished school.
Sirius cleared his throat, "So how did you two end up married in the first place?"
Poor Sirius, even though he is trying to accept the situation, was clearly uncomfortable, but at least he is trying. That just means a lot to Harry, a whole lot more than Sirius would ever realize. Harry was so very scared of Sirius' reaction about this and that he would abandon her because of it. He just means so very much to Harry as he is the last of her family that is alive. And she would do anything to protect him.
"Well," Harry began. "A couple of days ago, I was out looking for Dudley as it was getting late and he was not back yet, but I could not find him anywhere, so I decided to go back before it gets too dark out. I took a shortcut through an alley and that's when I was attacked by the two dementors. They were about to suck out my soul when Grell and his friend, Ronald saved me."
Sirius' face lost all color as he realized just how close he was to loosing Harry. Remus, on the other hand, connected the dots and exclaimed, "You're the one who destroyed the two dementors!?"
Grell looked at Harry, who nodded to his unasked question, which indicated that he could trust them with the truth. It was a bit scary at how well Grell and Harry could read each other, when they were together for such a short time. it was like that they were meant to be together like soul mates or something of that nature.
Grell began to explain, "Ronald and I are grim reapers. We guide souls of the recently departed to the afterlife. But I can't tell you anything more since you are not my husband."
Everyone was shocked to learn that Grell was a Grim Reaper and that they actually exist. But it did explain how Grell and Ronald were able to destroy the two dementors that attacked Harry.
Remus then asked, "Then what about the dark haired man that you were talking to in the park? Was he a Grim Reaper too?"
Grell looked at Harry in surprise.
Harry gave him a small smile and answered, "Yes, he is. His name is William T. Spears."
Grell blinked in surprised before a wide smile spread across his face and he asked, "You met Will?"
Harry nodded, "Yeah and not for the first time apparently. He was there that night that Mom and dad were killed. He was the one, who collected their souls."
Hermione carefully asked not sure that she should do it or not, "Does he know how you survived that night?"
Now everyone was listening intently as the mystery of the century was about to be answered. Bu to learn that someone, even though they are supposed be a myth, had witnessed the famous attack was very shocking to say the least.
Harry took in a deep breath in order to calm herself as it was still a sore subject to bring up, before answering, "Mr. Spears said that Mom tricked the Dark Lord into a magical contract when she asked him to kill her instead of me. When he killed her, magic recognized it as fulfilling the contract, so when he tried to kill me, his magic rebounded and destroyed his body as punishment for disobeying the contract."
"Wow!" The twins exclaimed at the same time. Everyone else was silent as they thought about what they had just learned.
"That sounds just like something that Lily would do, right Remus?" Sirius said with a laugh in his voice.
Remus nodded, "Of course, considering that she did the same thing to Sirius just before their wedding, in order to get him to behave and not do anything stupid during their wedding and ruining it."
That got a laugh out of everyone. This led to Sirius and Remus telling them more stories about Lily and James. Harry snuggled into Grell's side, happy that the most important people in her life accepted her marriage and Grell. Even though, Sirius requested that they wait a couple of years before doing the deed. Everyone wisely kept their mouths shut.
