Now let's continue with the story.

"Emily. John. Welcome." Lord Death bounced up and down on his platform. "So glad you could come."

"Thanks Lord Death," John reached the top of the steps. "Why don't you have an escalator installed? Or at least a few water stands?"

"How was your trip?" Death looked at Emily as she came up next to her brother.

"It was fine," Emily brushed her long bangs away from her eyes.

"Why do you cover your bangs, Emily," John asked. "You use to hold it back with a headband. I remember when you went through that phase when you wore oddball headbands."

"Not now John," Emily sighed, pushing a thin wired headband over her forehead. "I still wear one from time to time."

"Only when you focus," John laughed. "You use to wear one when you slept."

"Children grow up," Emily finished fixing the headband in place. "Now, Lord Death, where do we get our schedules?"

"Spirit is just making his way back from the main office with your schedule, Emily. I assume John will just take the same classes."

"Of course," John wrapped his arm around Emily's shoulder. "I gotta make sure she doesn't do something stupid."

A bead a sweat began to roll down Death's mask as he looked around to see if Spirit was back yet.

"Ah, hello Kid," Death smiled behind his mask. "Come welcome our new students. This is Emily and John Warner. Our new students."

Lord Death's son, Death the Kid, walked up the stairs followed by his two weapons, Liz and Patty. Kid stopped as soon as he reached the top of the platform.

"So you want me to show them around. Is that right?"

"Hey, I only see that girl," Patty looked around the Death Room trying to find John. "I thought we were showing two students around."

"Patty," Liz whispered. "Quiet."

"I can find my own way around," Emily sighed. "I'll just go to the main office and get the schedule myself."

"Emily, let's just stay. You need to make some friends."

"John," Emily sighed, pulling her headband out. "Not now."

"Who is she talking to," Patty whispered back.

"Lord Death, if there is nothing else you wanted to talk to me about, I'll be going."

"Well. . ."

"Then I'm going," Emily walked past Kid and his weapons and began walking down the stairs.

"Emily," John called out. He quickly bowed to Lord Death and followed after his sister.

"I still don't get it," Patty tapped her chin. "You said there were two students, but I can only see one."

"One body maybe," Kid said.

"Indeed," Death agreed.

"Yes, get Stein," Death spoke softly. "I'll need the two of you to go assist them as soon as possible."

Spirit quickly ran out of the Death Room, leaving the Lord Death to watch the scene unfold in front of him.

"You want my soul," John called out, fear hinting in his voice. "Why?"

"Now, why should I tell you," the man laughed.

A new wave of blood lust increased the gravity around the twins, forcing them to the ground.

"Shit," Emily cursed out. "What the hell is just with this blood lust?"

The man laughed even more and he came closer to the twins. "Now, maybe I should just kill your meister first, just for fun."

John quickly transformed out of his sabre form to cover Emily with her body. "Don't even think about it."

"John, don't," Emily continued to struggle against the increasing gravity. "You can't."

"Listen to your meister, weapon," the man pulled out a knife. "Save yourself. At least for a little bit."

"Get away from my brother, you bastard," Emily was barely able to get her hands underneath her to stand before another wave of gravity beat back down. "I won't let you hurt her."

"You don't really have a say Miss Meister." The man knelt down in front of the twins, pulling of John military cut hair.

Sweat poured from Lord Death's mask as he watched the scene in front of him.

"Lord Death," Stein called as he and Spirit raced up the stairs to stand next to Death.

"Good thing you're here," Death said, "I need you two to-"

"NO!" Emily screamed and the three men turned to see red liquid being sprayed across the street.

"Stein, let's go," Spirit began to transform.

"Right," Stein raced at the mirror, grabbing Spirit's Death Scythe form.
