A/N: Here is the next chapter of my story, "The Holiday." In it Mary meets David, and Ruby.
REMEMBER: There will be two other chapters that will focus on Mary and her vacation, and a dinner date with David (and possible after the date activities-*Wink*)
It was the day of the swap, and Mary is getting ready for the trip to the airport. She hears the doorbell goes of and she answer the door. Killian is at the door, and said "Are you ready for this lass?"
"As much as I am. Are you going to stay at the airport to pick up Emma?" She asked.
"Aye, is she coming today?" Killian asked.
"Actually she left yesterday, and with day different. Are you going to be behave?" Mary asked.
"Who knows what would happen, There are two people in a dance." Killian said, "lets get you going. Are you going to behave when you see Emma's brother?"
"Touché. What would happen will happen." Mary said with a giggle.
At the airport, Mary is getting ready for her plane ride. Where a fight attendant comes up to her and asked, "Are you the travel writer, Mary B?"
"Yes I am." Mary said.
"I love your blog!" she said. "What are you going to write about?"
"You know that movie, The holiday?" Mary asked, and the fight attendant nods. "I am doing a series based on it."
"Do you hope you will find love during your vacation?" she asked.
"I don't know. But my friend's brother is very handsome and he is single. Here is a photo of them." Mary shows it to the attendance.
"Oh my...he is very handsome. If I were in your place I would grab him and hold on to dear life." she said.
"Really?" Mary asked, and the fight attendant nods again.
"What would you like to drink?" she asked
"Diet Coke." Mary said, "thank you."
As the plane lands in America, Mary gets up and soon to met David and Ruby.
"Mary?" David asked.
"Yes? David?" Mary asked, and he nods. "This is Ruby, Emma's best-friend and neighbor."
"It is a wonderful to meet you. Your name sounds familiar, are you a writer?" Ruby asked
"I am a travel blogger, and also a travel writer of AP." Mary said. "What about you?"
"I am co-owner of a diner with my grandmother." Ruby said.
"That is pretty cool. I always wanted to be cook. I love to cook for my friends and family back home." Mary said.
"Maybe you can cook for us one of the dinners that you are here." Ruby said, "and I know that it is a way to a man's heart." she added to teased David as he is slightly blushed. and look at his cellphone and then he said, "I need to get going. Robin needs to go home. It was a pleasure to meeting you Mary."
"Likewise. I am looking forward to cooking dinner for you all." Mary said.
"Bye Mary.." David said as he glanced over at her and was looking at her so much that Mary blushed, and then turned around and walked away.
"It appears that David likes you, Mary." Ruby said.
"That is what Emma said. She emailed me about him looking at my picture." Mary said.
"It also appears that Emma has a crush on your friend." Ruby said.
"Killian? He liked her too." Mary said, as she gathers her things and walked with Ruby towards Emma's yellow bug. Suddenly a man stands in their way.
"Ruby?" he said.
"What do you want, pig?" Ruby said with her voice tensed with anger.
"Where is Emma and Henry?" he said.
"She is not in the country. Neil. Your behavior caused her so much pain that she needed a vacation." Ruby said.
"This is Neil?" Mary asked, and Ruby nods. Mary's face crumbled in anger and slap him across the face.
"Who are you?" Neil said as he rubs his face.
"My name is Mary. I am Emma's friend from England. She is at my house for a vacation." Mary said
"What about Henry?" Neil asked.
"He is with the Mayor and her family." Ruby said. "Don't you even think about going over. Emma gave her instruction if you upset Henry you will be throw in jail."
"Really? Emma would never say that." Neil said, as he pulls out his cellphone and start to punch Emma's number.
"You wound her more than you know." Ruby said, "I know that she has been filing papers." The ladies opens the doors and Ruby turns the key and drove away.
"Did she really said that about tossing that jerk in jail?" Mary asked.
"Yeah. She did. Emma was wounded that he cheated on with Bella." Ruby said. "Bella was her college roommate, and a close friend."
"He is a pig." Mary said. "Did David say anything about this?"
"Yeah. Bella was actually his fiancée. He was heartbroken about it, and anger at Neil for wounding his sister. I think he would actually hurt him if Emma step in and reminded him that he is Henry's dad." Ruby said, as she text David what happen.
"That is a terrible story. I am hoping that Emma would have a wonderful time." Mary said.
"I hope so too. And I hope that she is enjoying Killian's company. If I was her, and was there. I would!" Ruby said.
"I hope I will have a wonderful time here too." Mary said.
"I have a feeling that you would." Ruby said, as she check her phone for a text from David which said, 'thanks for letting me know. I will let Emma know.'
Meanwhile, David quickly dials Emma. She answers it. "Is Henry okay?" she asked.
"No, he is fine. I met Mary at the airport. I had to go to work." David said.
"Good, anything else?" Emma said.
"They ran into Neil. And I think that he is a bit upset that you left Henry and fled the country." David said
"I will deal with him when I return home. What do you think about her?" Emma asked.
"She is quite lovely, and I am looking forward of getting to know her." David said
"Just be kind to her okay?" Emma said
"yes Mom!" David teased her, "Just have a good time okay?"
"Oh I think I will." Emma said.
"Oh good grief." David said, as they said their goodbyes and he quickly texted Regina about what happen, and she returns the text. He pulls the photo of Mary that Emma emailed him before she left.
The door opens, and he hears a young man's voice said, "Hey Uncle David!"
"Hey Henry, how are you doing?" David said.
"Is it true that my father is back in town?" Henry asked
"yeah. are you going to be okay by that?" David asked.
"I will not let him talk to me. He hurt me and Mom. Just why did he do that with Bella?" Henry asked
"He was just weak." David said.
"Well. I will not do that, when I get married." Henry said.
"Good. Do you want to help me with filing paperwork?" David asked.
"Yeah. I just don't want to be on the street. Just in case I ran into my father." Henry said, "What do you think of Mary?"
"I think that she is a lovely person." David said.
"Uncle David. You are such of a liar. You fancier her." Henry said.
"I keep forgetting that you share the same talent as your mother." David said. "Yes, I like her a lot, and I am looking forward to getting to know her ."
