Gourmet Duelist
I own no one but Ryan Hunter, Atticus Crasher, and Mark Shot. Haka Arashi is a collaborated ownership by both me and Card-Golem. Also, the Jaden Yuki that appears is the descendent of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX's Judai Yuki. I will be using the Japanese names of the majority of characters from the previous seasons (minus ZEXAL) when they're referenced to. And, once more, the events of this story take place 50 years Post-ZEXAL. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
"Aw man…I already miss those girls and the kiddo…" Joey sighed as he managed his shop before noticing something out of the corner of his eye, "Huh? Wuzzat?"
He walked over to a hidden shelf. There, resting on it was a deck of cards. He picked it up and gulped. Mai walked downstairs to see Joey shaking a bit.
"What is it now? Someone threw away another 'useless' card?" Mai asked.
"It's worse den dat," Joey replied as he showed her the cards, "She fergot her Deck!"
"Oh no, oh no, oh no!" Kiki's frantic worrying was the first thing Ryan heard as he awoke.
"Sugah-cube…What's…wrong?" AJ asked, pausing in her sentence to yawn.
"I lost my deck," Kiki replied as she zipped around, going through everything she could.
"You didn't ferget it back on th' helicopter, did ya?" AJ asked as she peeked over the top bunk on the left side of the room while Hikari began to rub her eyes on the bunk below it.
"Well, if she did, then I am so glad I gave her Baby Tiragon after the introduction ceremony at the school," Ryan yawned as he hopped down from the top bunk on the other side of the room.
"We've been here for nearly a week now. How did you not check your Deck when we got here?" Hikari asked.
"Um, well…" Kiki blushed.
"We've been busy this whole time," Ryan replied as he walked into the bathroom, "Mainly with her helping me cook stuff here."
"We'll need to tell Mr. Crasher about this," Hikari noted.
"Ah thought he wanted us t' call him 'Atticus,'" AJ pointed out.
"He does, but I just don't think it feels right," Hikari argued before her PDA buzzed, "Ugh! Again?!" she picked it up, "I am not dueling for Exodia or Dark Magician!"
She proceeded to hang up. The last twenty-four hours had caused Hikari nothing but trouble. Ever since the rumors spread and were proven by the captured recording of the duel, everyone wanted to trade or duel for the five pieces of Exodia and her Dark Magician. No one still has yet to figure out how she was able to run around a corner to a dead end, only to mysteriously vanish before anyone could turn the corner. AJ's went off next.
"Howdy," AJ greeted before noticing who was on the line as Ryan walked out of the bathroom, all ready for the day, "Howdy, Mrs. Wheeler."
=Hello, AJ. Would you mind explaining just why Hikari picked up, snapped at me, and then hung up?= Mai asked, a twitch in her left eye.
"That was you? I am so sorry for that, Mai," Hikari apologized, "I've been having trouble with card hunters here."
=Tell me about it. My husband normally gets challenged almost weekly for the Red Eyes Black Dragon that's been in the family since Jonouchi Katsuya's time= Mai sighed in annoyance and understanding =Anyways, is Kiki there? Joey found her deck here=
"Oh, thank goodness," Kiki sighed in relief before noticing Ryan was holding a deck of cards out to her.
"Here. This was my first deck," Ryan offered, "You can use it until you get your Fairy deck back."
"…But I couldn't…" Kiki began.
"Kiki-chan, it's fine. It won't be fun at all here unless my friends are able to enjoy something here at least a little," Ryan urged, putting the deck into her hands, "And I trust you with these cards."
"O-Okay…" Kiki nodded slowly, "Th-Thank you."
"No prob," Ryan grinned, "Now then…hurry up and get dressed, girls. I'm heading downstairs to get Breakfast ready!"
"You make the best breakfasts in the world!" Mark grinned as the group of friends walked towards the school.
"Thanks," Ryan nodded.
"I just have one question."
"Fire away, Mark."
"Why are we doing this?!" Mark demanded as he, AJ, and Ryan were keeping the students back from Hikari and Kiki, primarily Hikari.
"Back you vultures! Back I say!" Ryan snapped.
"Git away from here, ya varmints!" AJ threatened with a shake of her fist.
"Hey, y'all! Are y'all chickens? Get away from here!" Ryan barked in unison with Toriko.
"Gyaaaa~! This is scarier than running into a Shrieking Violet!" Tomatsu screamed, hugging Toriko's waist in fear.
"…Hold on, we're missin' someone," AJ noted before blinking twice, "Dagnabbit!"
Ryan and Mark turned around to see that Kiki and Hikari were missing, "What?!"
"Aw~!" the crowed groaned as it began to disperse.
'Ah thought we agreed t' not do that…' AJ thought with a twitchy eye.
"How'd she do that?" Ryan asked.
"No clue," Mark shrugged, "AJ, you?"
"Uh…W-Well…"
"We can worry later," Ryan shrugged as he picked up AJ and ran off, "Kitchen, here I come!"
"H-Hey! Let me go, ya varmint!" AJ snapped, tucked under Ryan's arm.
"Sorry, just wanted you to get out of the spot like that. It seems to be something private between you and your sisters, so I don't want to learn it unless you want to tell," Ryan grinned at her as Mark chased after them.
Unaware to them, Hikari had left behind something of importance. A figure knelt down and picked it up with a smirk.
"Shizuka-sama's going to love this," the Obelisk Blue girl smirked.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no!" Hikari repeated for the twelfth time that half-hour as she went through her bookbag once more.
"Something up with your backpack?" Ryan asked as he tossed the fruit salad he was preparing for the girls for lunch.
"My Deck is gone!" Hikari replied, "And I have a Duel scheduled two hours after lunch!"
"Uh oh," Ryan and Mark paled.
"That ain't good," AJ added before Hikari's PDA went off.
"Yes?" Hikari answered.
=Yes. Did you happen to lose this?= a voice asked as the screen showed Hikari her Dark Magician card.
"My Deck!" Hikari gasped.
=If you want this back, come to the Obelisk Blue Duel Arena immediately with someone who has their Deck= the connection went off after that, meaning the one on the other line dropped the call.
"…"
"Um, H-Hikari? Is everything…?" Kiki began before nothing.
Ryan, Mark, and AJ blinked in unison. Kiki and Hikari were there just a second ago, now they weren't. AJ sighed, knowing what had happened most likely since she had overheard what had been happening.
"Come on. We have t' go t' th' Oblisk Blue Duel Arena t' find 'em," AJ spoke as she got up.
"I'm here! Now give it!" Hikari shouted as she pushed Kiki into a circular auditorium with each of the four exits sporting a bust of Obelisk the Tormentor's head above them.
"Uh-uh," a voice replied before a second snorted.
"You brought another Slifer Slacker as your Duel Representative? For shame," a second voice tsked.
With that, three girls entered. The first girl and in the lead with a Duel Disk was Shizuka. To her left was a red-haired girl with her hair going to her shoulders. The girl on her right had shoulder-length orange hair with glasses. That girl had a Deck.
"I should've told you this, but this is a Duel for this Deck," Shizuka smirked as she walked onto the stage, "Once I win, I'll be taking it for myself."
"What?!" Hikari screamed in time with Ryan and Mark as the other three ran in.
"Oi, oi, oi! What the heck?!" Ryan demanded.
"As if I'd explain it to a Slifer Slacker like you," Shizuka snorted, "Mari will be keeping the Deck until the Duel is done and will give it to the winner. And since the girl came in with this one…" she tossed a Duel Disk to Kiki, the pinkette squeaking as she barely caught it, "…She has to duel me."
"D'oh!" Hikari facepalmed, her eagerness getting her into trouble…yet again.
"Hold on!" Ryan shouted as he ran onto the stage, "Why are you making her do this? What did Hikari ever do to you?"
"What did she do? She tried to break the status quo, that's what," Shizuka scowled, "Slifer Red always loses, especially in the House Cup."
"…There's a House Cup?" Ryan asked.
"Every year, each Dorm collects 'Points' from various things, but mainly Dueling," Mark explained, "Obelisk Blue has always been the winners for the past ten years with Slifer Red coming in last each time except for one event two years ago."
"Hmm…Okay then. Guess that means Slifer Red's gonna win this year!" Ryan grinned, making his friends except for Kiki facefault and made Shizuka sneer.
"Wanna bet? Once I win this duel, I'm going to have that Deck burned," Shizuka sneered.
"Wait! I'd like to stay with Kiki here," Ryan informed, putting a hand on Kiki's shoulder, "I won't interfere with the duel, but I want to be beside her to give her moral support."
"Tch. Whatever, just bring it!" Shizuka growled as the others took seats in the seating areas.
"You can do this, Kiki-chan," Ryan assured as the two activated their Duel Disks.
"I…I hope s-so…" Kiki gulped.
"Duel!"
"G-Game on…"
Shizuka: 4000
Kiki: 4000
"Um…I-I'll…" Kiki began.
"I'll start this off!" Shizuka declared as he drew, making Kiki squeak a bit in being startled, "And I start with Harpie Lady 1!"
"Harpy Lady?" Hikari repeated as a portal appeared before Shizuka.
"Ah remember that series; doesn't Mai use that there card?" AJ asked.
Flying out of the portal was a slender woman. She had a slender waist, slightly-wide hips that went down into slender legs that ended in bird feet, firm D-Cups, and her arms were two large green wings with bird feet emerging from the hinges, the structure of them reshaped to resemble hands. Her long flowing red hair went down just past her hips while she wore a purple jumpsuit on the waist down while her top was bare except for a black sling bikini.
Harpie Lady 1: WIND/4/1300-1600/1400/Winged Beast/Effect: This card's name is always treated as "Harpie Lady". All WIND monsters gain 300 ATK. Other Card Lore: This human-shaped animal with wings is beautiful to watch but deadly in battle.
"Then I will play Elegant Egotist to Special Summon the Harpie Lady Sisters!"
Harpie Lady 1 laughed before a kaleidoscope appeared beside her. It shined a light down on her before she split into four. One looked exactly like her, except for elegant gold armor over her upper body and just below her shoulders with a whip made of thorns in her left talons. The other two resembled the first one, except one had short orange hair and the other had medium, raised up, blue hair.
Elegant Egotist: Spell Card/Effect: Activate only while there is a face-up "Harpie Lady" on the field. Special Summon 1 "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" from your hand or your Deck.
Harpie Lady Sisters: WIND/6/1950-2250/2100/Winged Beast/Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by "Elegant Egotist".
"And now I end my turn with three facedowns," Shizuka smirked, 'Heh. And with my Trap Hole and Dark Bribe, she can't use anything like that can destroy cards nor will she be able to summon a monster. And if she gets lucky and uses a card to destroy one of my monsters to protect her, I can use my Foolish Burial with Monster Reborn for a little surprise. Next turn, she's dead.'
"Um…I draw," Kiki drew a card, "I summon Elemental HERO Wildheart."
"What?!" Shizuka gasped.
A tribal yell echoed before a figure landed before Kiki. He stood as tall as Toriko and wore bandages around his wrists, ankles, and waist. His muscular shoulders and biceps had red tribal markings on them. Around his neck was a brown scarf with fangs sewn onto it. His long black hair was done in a ponytail while his lower body was covered by a loincloth. H pulled out a large blade from off his back and aimed it at Shizuka.
Elemental HERO Wildheart: EARTH/4/1500/1600/Warrior/Effect Card Lore: This card is unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards.
"T-Then I play Heavy Storm and chain with Mystical Space Typhoon," Kiki informed.
'Shit!' Shizuka growled, "I play Dark Bribe to negate Heavy Storm before you can chain with Mystical Space Typhoon!"
A sleazy man appeared before Kiki. He took a card from Kiki's deck's top and gave it to her before walking away with Heavy Storm, letting a sparkling typhoon slam into her other facedown to destroy it.
"…Oh my. I didn't think that was true about you," Kiki noted as she saw the facedown had been Trap Hole, "I guess I was right to study some duels with Hikari-chan and AJ-chan."
"Im…Impossible," the orange-head of the two Shizuka lackeys gasped.
"I thought I had deleted all the videos of her duels," the orangette scowled.
"Hikari made copies of the first duels everyone has had on Duel Academy saved in her PDA," Kiki explained, "Now I play my given card; Get Your Game On. As long as it's on the field, it doubles the ATK if all Elemental Heroes."
Get Your Game On: CONTINUOUS/MAGIC/Effect Card Lore: The ATK of all your "Elemental HERO" and "Neo-Spacian" monsters on the field is doubled.
Elemental HERO Wildheart: 3000
"Um…D-Do I really have to attack?" Kiki asked.
"If you want to win, then yes!" AJ replied.
"But it seems so mean…" Kiki noted.
"If you don't, then they're going to burn my deck!" Hikari pointed out.
"R-Right…" Kiki gulped, "Um…Excuse me, Mr. Wildheart? Can you, um…Attack Harpie Lady Sisters?"
Wildheart looked at the three gulping harpies and grinned. He let out a wild man's roar before jumping into the air. He swiped with his blade and the heads of the sisters were quickly severed. Blood shot from the necks before they shattered into pixels. Wildheart flicked the blood off his blade as he walked back over to the nearly-fainting Kiki had Ryan not caught her.
"Now I see why you asked me to stand beside you for the duel," Ryan chuckled.
"Um…I end my turn with a facedown. You can go now, if that's okay…" Kiki informed.
"You little bitch," Shizuka growled as she drew, "I play Foolish Burial, sending one card in my Deck to the Graveyard then reveal my Call of the Haunted to bring it back!"
A dark growl erupted from the ground. It began to break up before three black talons emerged from it. Following it was a large, red dragon. It had ears resembling bat wings with an adamant collar and green/gold headgear. Its long arms sported orange wings on them. Its red eyes glowed as it roared at Kiki, who began to scream.
"I Advance Summon Harpie's Pet Dragon!"
"Dragon!-!-!" Kiki screamed as she hid behind Ryan, trembling in pure fear.
Harpie's Pet Dragon: WIND/7/2000-2600/2500/Dragon/Effect Card Lore: This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each "Harpie Lady" on the field.
"Oh, this is bad," AJ gulped as Kiki began to whimper.
"Kiki-chan…" Ryan whispered.
"What's wrong with her? She's completely terrified!" Mark exclaimed.
"She's deathly afraid of adult and teenage Dragons," Hikari explained, "And this is one of those kinds."
"Come on, Sugah-cube! Y'all can win this!" AJ shouted.
"Heh. So you're just a big chicken," Shizuka sneered as Wildheart moved a bit to better shield his user and his original user, "Well, you should know that my dragon gains 300 ATK and DEF for each Harpie Lady on the field, and guess what? There's one right now, meaning my Dragon is at 2300, but with her effect, it's now 2600! And that's not all! I summon a second Harpie Lady 1, making him go up to 3200!"
Harpie Lady 1 (X2): 1900
Harpie's Pet Dragon: 3200
"Oh no…" Kiki whimpered.
"Now kill her so-called 'Hero!' Saint Fire Giga!" Shizuka ordered.
The Pet Dragon roared before sending a wave of red flames at them. Kiki barely pressed the Face-down activation button before the flames hit. Just as it reached them, a vortex appeared and devoured the flames.
"A Negate Attack. Oh, thank goodness…" Hikari sighed in relief.
"You…!" Shizuka snarled, "I play Pot of Greed to draw two cards and set one of them facedown! Also, don't bother trying to attack my Harpies. Their pet will defends them just as it does me."
"…She's nuttier than mah Granny's fruitcake," AJ muttered, earning a snicker from the others, as Kiki drew.
"Um…I p-play Monster Recovery," Kiki spoke, "Th…This returns Wildheart on the field to my hand, then I shuffle it into my deck and draw a new hand." She quickly did what she needed, "I s-set a monster facedown and two facedowns. T-Turn End."
Monster Recovery: Spell/Quick-Play Effect: Unite 1 of your own monsters on your side of the field and your hand with your Deck and shuffle it. Draw the same number of cards that were in your hand from the Deck. (You cannot activate this card if you have your opponent's card in your hand)
"I draw!" Shizuka declared, scowling at not drawing a monster, "Harpie's Pet Dragon, attack!"
Harpie's Pet Dragon nodded before inhaling deeply. He exhaled a powerful fireball and it raced at the facedown monster. It flipped up and revealed a flying squirrel. It barely let out a frightened squeak before it was incinerated by the attack.
Nimble Momonga: EARTH/2/1000/100/Beast/Effect Card Lore: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: Gain 1000 Life Points, then you can Special Summon any number of "Nimble Momongas" from your Deck in face-down Defense Position.
"I…I activate the effect of Nimble Momonga. When he's in the Graveyard because of a fight, I'm allowed to gain 1000 Life Points and then set two of his friends on the field," Kiki explained as two set monsters appeared.
Kiki: 5000
"Tch. Harpy Lady 1 the second, get that left card," Shizuka ordered as her right Harpie Lady whipped her left Nimble Momonga.
Kiki: 6000
"Ugh! Attack her other one!" Shizuka ordered before a scarecrow made of motorcycle parts appeared, "A Scrap-Iron Scarecrow?! You little…! I end my turn! But next turn, you're dead!"
"Are you sure you want to keep going?" Ryan whispered.
"I…I won't give up," Kiki replied, trembling still, "Hikari…If I lose, then Hikari will be heartbroken. I won't let one of my friends be in such pain." She proceeded to draw, engaging her turn, "I summon the Tuner monster Junk Synchron. And with his effect, Nimble Momonoga returns as well with his effects negated."
A portal appeared before Kiki. From it, Nimble Nomomonga flew out and knelt down into Defense Position. Following it was a small figure. He appeared to be a small robot that went up to Kiki's hips. He wore biker clothing that was orange and brown in color and leather in texture. What could be seen within the form were motorcycle parts while old-time biker goggles covered his blue eyes.
Junk Synchron: DARK/3/1300/500/Warrior/Tuner Card Lore: When this card is Normal Summoned, you can select 1 Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard, and Special Summon it in face-up Defense Position. That monster's effect(s) is negated.
"Tuning Level 2 Nimble Momonoga with Level 3 Junk Synchron," Kiki continued.
Junk Synchron jumped before Nimble Momonoga and pulled on a ripcord under his 'clothes'. The engines inside of him revved up and glowed a faint orange. He shattered before turning into three speedometers. Nimble Momonoga jumped through the first two, turning into an orange outline of himself before turning into two stars.
"Hope springs forth from the bonds of friends. Give aide in creating a new power. Synchro Summon," Kiki recited softly as the stars turned into a pillar of light.
The pillar dispersed. Where there were once two, there now stood a single warrior as tall as Toriko. The figure was male in design, yet was completely robotic. The sunlight of Shizuka's Field Spell reflected off the deep violet armor accent with moderate cream metal. The left hand was covered by a black biker glove while the entire right arm was bigger than the left arm, a knuckle-duster replacing the right hand. A white scarf adorned the warrior's neck while the metal cream feet were shaped to resemble the shoes of a jester, yet more angular in detail. On the back shoulders was a pair of moderate cream plane-like wings. The head was round with a moderate cream-colored face. The goggle-shaped optics flashed red before he punched ahead, sending a small wave of purple electricity erupting from his right fist.
"Please help, Junk Warrior."
Junk Warrior: DARK/5/2300/1300/Warrior/Synchro/Effect Card Lore: "Junk Synchron" + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned, it gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all Level 2 and lower monsters you control.
"Then I reveal Graceful Revival, reviving one of my Nimble Momonga. Now Junk Warrior's effect activates; when he's Synchro Summoned, he gains the ATK of all Level 2 and lower monsters I have on the field," Kiki explained.
"What?!" Shizuka gasped as Kiki's Nimble Momongas and Junk Warrior glowed together.
Junk Warrior: 4300
"Um, Junk Warrior, if it isn't too much trouble, can you…um…get rid of the dragon?" Kiki gulped.
Junk Warrior nodded before the engines on its back revved up, letting him fly into the air. The Nimble Momongas stayed on his left shoulder as Junk Warrior charged at Harpie's Pet Dragon. The dragon roared at him before sending a blast of flames at Junk Warrior. Junk Warrior reeled his larger fist back and swung it ahead. Violet energy flared around it before an energy fist appeared over it twice the size of the limb. The energy limb dispersed the flames and slammed into the Pet Dragon, knocking it away. Junk Warrior performed a flip in the air and landed beside Kiki, who had her eyes covered for the battle as usual. Junk Warrior gently tapped her shoulder, earning a small squeak from her before she slowly lowered her hands.
"Are…You're not hurt, are you?" Kiki asked her monster, who shook its head in reply, "Oh, that's good…"
Shizuka: 1900
"I end my turn with a facedown," Kiki spoke.
Shizuka drew and scowled. She set her two Harpie Ladies into defense mode. Kiki drew.
"I play Fairy Meteor Crush," Kiki spoke as Junk Warrior's body began to glow softly.
Fairy Meteor Crush: Spell/Equip Effect: If the equipped monster attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.
"What good will that do?" Shizuka scowled.
"Um, well…Fairy Meteor Crush let's Junk Warrior deal Piercing Damage," Kiki explained.
"What?!" Shizuka gasped as Junk Warrior looked at Kiki.
"Um…Which one would you like to…?" Kiki began to ask before Junk Warrior pointed at Harpie Lady 1 the first, "Oh, okay then. Go get her."
Junk Warrior's engines went off before he shot at Harpie Lady 1. He reeled his fist back and let it loose, the energy fist it made reshaped to resemble a meteor with fairy wings. Harpie Lady 1 screamed as the fist rammed into her and knocked her into Shizuka.
Shizuka: 0 – LOSE
Kiki: 6000 – WIN
"N-No way…!" one of the two girls gasped as Shizuka couldn't believe what she saw.
"Believe it, missy," a cold voice spoke before they looked up at the glaring AJ, "And ah'll be takin' mah sister's Deck back, if'n y'al don't mind."
Both gulped as they gave her the deck complete with Exodia. She tilted her hat before walking over to Hikari and gave her the deck.
"Oh thank goodness…" Hikari sighed in relief, hugging her Deck close.
"This isn't over," Shizuka growled as she and her two cronies left.
"I hate it when people say that," Komatsu whimpered, 'Th-Thank goodness Zebra-san is sleeping…'
"You did great, Kiki-chan," Ryan grinned.
"Oh! Um…Th-Thanks," Kiki blushed.
"And that was with just a modified starter deck!" Mark exclaimed, "You, girl, are awesome. I can't wait to see what Deck you really use."
"Likewise," Ryan nodded before Kiki's Duel Pad went off.
"Hm?" Kiki looked at it to see an image of Slifer Red's symbol with a '0' on it before it went up to '120.' A secondary image appeared on Kiki's school ID photo and a bar reading '1000 DP' increased to '2000 DP.'
"So that's what she meant," Hikari noted.
"Hey, you got more money to buy some new cards or shop at the store, Kiki-chan!" Ryan grinned.
"O-Oh…" Kiki nodded before she slumped and fell backwards in a faint.
"Whoa! Wh-What's wrong? Kiki-chan! Kiki-chan! Someone get a nurse! Kiki-chan's passed out!" Ryan shouted, having caught Kiki in her fall.
Hikari and AJ looked at each other and sighed.
*scenes of the next chapter start playing*
Ryan: *sighs in relief* Glad things settled so well this chapter.
*shows an image of AJ revving a D-Wheel*
AJ: Says you, pardner. Y'all had it easy enough. But now ah've got a Duel. And this feller seems like a good one.
*clip shows a blur bounce on a monster, making AJ slow down a little*
AJ: 'Specially in a Duel.
Ryan: Hope you've got the right spices for your victory, AJ-chan!
AJ: Next time, 100 Acre Dash! Bloom, Queen of Thorns!
